Clock missing on iPhone 3GS

I updated my 3Gs to OS6 and now the Clock is missing. How to I re-install the clock in ordre for me to be abel to set an alarm?

It's a built in app. It can't be deleted. It's there somewhere. Check all the pages and folders (especially the Utilities folder). If you still can't find it, Settings>General>Reset>Reset Homescreen Layout.

  • Contacts missing from Iphone 3GS after syncing

I synced my daughters iphone 3GS and then my iphone 3GS to the same itunes account on my pc. Most of my contacts were gone when I got done syncing but I had my daughters contacts.  How do I get my contacts back?  Ive synced my phone again to the same pc and it doesn't give me any options to fix my contacts.

I did set all my email contacts to be on the phone, and checked the iCloud. Re-synced the phone with itunes on my macbook. I have turned the phone off and left it turned off for 10 minutes and then turned it back on.
The contacts I am seeking are still missing.
One in particular I know had no email address associated with it.
I'm about ready to quit my iphone.

  • No clock app on iPhone 3GS?

This is bizarre, I think. A friend recently got a 3GS iPhone and there is no clock app on it. I looked through all the screens of apps (which were only a few) and did a search. No clock app.
This seems strange to me. The clock is part of the iOS, is it not? And isn't this iOS the same across all phones, except for minor details like what sounds are available for notifications?
Any ideas? I'm thinking a software Restore is option A at this point.

Before you restore, you might try a reset of the home screens and see if that gets the app back. Choose Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Home Screen Layout.
    Hope this helps.

  • Album Artwork missing from Iphone 3GS after upgrading to IOS 5

I just updated my phone, and the majority of my album covers have gone missing.
Is this because I do not keep any of the albums on my Itunes (lack of storage space)
    Can anyone help with this?

when i first upgradexd to 5.1 (last friday) my personal hotspot was also gone - i tried all the suggestions i could find on these forums but nothing worked - mysteriosly it just cam back today - and i havent done anything like a sync or reset - im wondering if it was something the phone company did (in my case ATT)

  • Why is the iTunes Store (iTunes Mobile) Icon missing from my iPhone 3GS?

I got an iPhone 3GS a couple of weeks ago and decided that see what the iTunes Store would be like on my phone. But I have looked everywhere, and I can't find the icon.
I looked on the Apple How To page and searched Google, but couldn't find anything on this. The Apple How To page did say that the iTunes Store is not available in some regions, but I'm in the US on AT&T, so I'm pretty sure that its supported here.
I do have the Apps Store Icon, and haven't noticed anything else missing.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

if you have all 11 pages filled in apps on the phone... it might have shoved off into the uncharted spaces...
try a restart... i find that if i'm using the dock at the bottom to move icons around i loose the built in icons from time to time... power down and back up restores them.

  • IPhone 3GS on telstra and no clock button

I got my boss a brand new iPhone 3GS 8GB and when we went to set the alarm clock they keep telling us to select the clock... there is not button for a clock, I have checked both screens and it it not there. We have done all the downloads from iTunes so the latest software is there and I have been told you can't remove this from the phone so anyone know where it went or how I get it back?

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any iDevice.
iOS 6 is intended for all iDevices that support it. If your phone did not support iOS 6 then it would not have installed it. Consider doing a Restore using iTunes.

  • Updated to iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 - stuff missing

I updated my husband's iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 just now, and a huge chunk of his photos are missing. I believe the last time this phone was synced with any library, it was his library on his old computer. So, of our two computers, neither would have been a good choice for updating, since neither could be considered the original one it was synced with. My question is this: when iTunes updates software, it backs up and restores first, so why were all of his photos not backed up and restored during this process? He had about 500-600 photos and now he only has 241. Also his playlists are gone, music was gone, a bunch of stuff is now gone. I had to put some of it back manually. Needless to say I am in a bunch of trouble for this - I have been bugging him for months to update his phone so we could iMessage each other. Now that I've done it, his phone is all F'd up.
Anything I can do to recover his photos? (Why did iTunes let them go to the ether????)
Also, why does Apple not have a chat support feature for simple questions that don't require charging us $29?? ggrrr...

Sorry to hear about this but this has happened to me as well but I am not sentimental about anything and everything I need is backed up.
I not sure if it is on my system at all but I did notice if I restore from a backup that it brings it to a known state (e.g. Photos of that state) even if I did not actively chose Photos to be backed up. However I believe how albums was incorporated that somehow it affected how the camera roll behaved during the upgrade (hence missing photos).
Hence to repeat here is a link to a similar issue:

I hope this is not the situation that you are in so good luck. I hope there is a better answer for you out here :(

  • Many apps missing after upgrade from iPhone 3gs to iPhone 4?

Hi - I'm trying to troubleshoot for my dad who was lucky enough to receive the iphone 4 today. He says the majority of apps didn't transfer from his iphone 3gs. I did a screen share with him and he's right. The apps are on the old iphone 3gs but not showing in his apps library or on the new phone. Anyone else experiencing this? He did a full back-up and had already upgraded his iphone 3gs to the iOS4 software. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had this issue but found the cause and solution.
When upgrading from the iPhone 3GS to the iPhone 4 (initial connection of new phone to iTunes) and AT&T moved my phone number from the 3GS to the 4; the 4 told me to power cycle (and I think unplug). Since a power cycle causes the phone to disconnect & reconnect to iTunes, and since the first sync after plugging the phone in always does a backup, it did a backup of the blank phone settings (no apps), and therefore wiped out the checked apps in the Applications tab of iTunes. (Note: The apps' data did exist, so checking an app, syncing, and then running the app showed the data. Good news: Data's still there. Bad news: Any apps you skip will hold their old data, as opposed to when you delete an app and it removes the app data for you.)
After hitting Erase All Content and Settings on my old 3GS and realizing it only took a minute and not an hour like the original iPhone did running OS 2 or 3, and seeing how smoothly its reinstall went (loaded settings, rebooted phone, and loaded apps OK), and more importantly that iTunes kept the old final 3GS backup and used a new backup for the new iPhone 4, I tried it on the iPhone 4: I hit Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings, then connected the phone. It asked which settings to restore, found my old phone backup (used date/timestamp to find right one); it then loaded settings (a few minutes), rebooted, and went right to installing apps. My phone was fine after that - all apps and folders were restored.

  • IPhone 3GS wont restore, missing music

Nothing but problems with my new iPhone 3GS
Firstly after the second sync all the music was replaced with "Other" data - and the iPhone was saying it had no music content. Tried resyncing it with iTunes and got the message that there was not enough space on the iPhone.
Then attempted a restore - but it gets stuck after downloading the software update while verifying the restore with apple. The message is Unable to restore - unknown error.
So I now have an iPhone which is unusable and stuck in recovery mode.
Also tried restoring on both my imac and macbook pro but both return the same problem.
Im now very disappointed and back to using my old nokia until I can get this sorted out - any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Isaac

    An update:
Spoke with the iPhone technical support today who found that the error message my iTunes is generating is because iTunes cannot connect to the apple server - which is strange cause i've always been able to use iTunes normally. Suggested that I open ports 80 and 443, and check I can ping gs.apple.com (which I could).
Opening port 80 was difficult. After setting the port forwarding on the router (and even placing it in a DMZ just to be sure) the port was still not open and because of leopards firewall required being manually edited in terminal with:
sudo ipfw -q add 10 allow tcp any to any 80 in
sudo ipfw -q add 20 allow tcp any to any 80 out
However doing the same with port 443 (and turning back to my mac off - which I think normally listens on this port) I was still unable to open this port.
iPhone support thinks its a problem with the mac firewall seeing I cannot connect to their servers (despite being able to use and download etc from the itunes store), imac support thinks its the ISP, and my ISP thinks its either of the apple products - they assure me that the only port they close at the ISP end is port 25 and with the computer in a DMZ then its not their issue.
    In addition:
    tried the suggestions above
-holding down sleep/home, then home etc
    -connecting whilst holding down home
-creating a new user account and attempting to restore from there
-deleting itunes application and the AppleMobileDevice files then reinstalling
Either way, and after a half day of googling, an aspirin, and being handballed around between apples various support departments i'm still back at square one with an iphone / paperweight "unable to verify restore with apple - unknown error (3014)".
Hope someone has some suggestions - apple is clueless about this it seems. Im sure there must be more people with an iPhone stuck in recovery mode having the same problem.
Apple suggested that I take the phone back to Vodafone in NZ and have them restore it - dosnt fix the problem though. This happened on the second day of use - probably going to happen again - and what if I need to do another restore sometime?
    Thanks
    Isaac

I think its stucked there so i can do nothing about my Iphone & i need an solution about my Phone . The "iOS 6.1.3 " i think & I'm not sure , is there someone can help me about my iPhone? Please and thanks.

It sounds like at some time the device was hacked to be able to work with the carrier you were using. Are you using a different carrier now than you were using before? Restoring a hacked device would restore the carrier lock that was on the phone. If you are seeing that particular error, the only alternatives are to either use the carrier it is locked to, or contact them to see if they provide unlocking services and if you qualify for unlocking.
