  • Nokia 5800 Clock Screensaver

Hi, I am just wondering if it is possible to have a clock screensaver on my Nokia 5800 - such as CClock or something like that - I used to ahve it on my S60 V3 N95 8GB, but can't seem to see anywhere on the Nok 5800 where it lets you use a screensaver such as C Clock.  I am currently on Firmware V.11.0.009 which is the most up to date firm ware available to me in Ireland?
    Thanks in advance

Symbian freak has some good stuff:
    www.symbian-freak.com/downloads/freeware/cat_s60_5th/00_index_5th_ed.htm
For commercial software try these two:

Be careful if you are using themes or apps for the S60v3 operating system that run on startup.  As a precaution you should install them onto the memory card.  Some apps and themes can prevent the phone from booting up correctly, if that happens you can just remove the memory card.

  • Glance clock screensaver no longer moves around sc...

After Lumina Black update download my at a glance clock no longer works as a screensaver. It doesn't move around the screen during standby. Will this cause screen burn-in? Why did the update change this?

I had a similar problem with my screensaver, and ended up telling it to always use a very simple picture folder and only display on one monitor. Before I had it randomly select from about a dozen different screensavers and display on both monitors. Since making the change I haven't had a problem. I never figured out what was going wrong, and neither has anyone else that I have seen. Personally, I suspect a problem with older QuartzComposer savers and some recent updates from Apple, but don't know which update would be the cause (I ran a batch of them at the same time). Unlike you, I did not find anything in my log files indicating a problem with anything. The computer simply froze when it attempted to exit the screensaver, either by manual intervention (moving the mouse) or to go from the saver to screen sleep. If you have one particular saver you've been using, try changing it to something else and see if you still have a problem.

  • Nokia 1661 clock 'screensaver'

Just got a Nokia 1661.  When the phone is not in use, the time and date appear on the screen (sort of like a screensaver, but i currently have screensaver turned off, so I'm not really sure what this is or why it's doing it).  Anyway, it is a great feature and could be very useful, but the problem is it is so faint that I can't read it.  Can anyone tell me how to brighten it up so I can read the time without having to turn my keyguard off?
    thanks,
    Duke

This was exactly the info I was looking for.  Unfortunately, I wasn't what I wanted to hear.
The fact that screen goes nearly black with only a faint glimpse of the clock and whether or not there was a call must be an oversight on Nokia's part.  Because if not it is absolutely absurd that this is how it was intended.
There is no need to have such a faint info screen which requires a whole lot of clicking just to see if there was a missed call.
I've had a number of Nokias over the years and they've always done me well.  Even the cheap and flimsy little 1208 I'm using.  It feels like it'll fall apart in my hand, but at least the screen is visible.
Well done, Nokia.  I'll keep checking to see if there is a solution to this issue, but I won't hold my breath.

  • K900 clock screensaver - screen lock time display

    Hi guys
Can't figure out how to get the time display or a clock as a screen saver or when the screen is locked. I have enabled the screensaver for when it is charging but that obviously only works while it is charging!
    Any Ideas?

  • Annoying clock screensaver continually pops up

I just got this phone a few weeks ago and at first it was fine, then about a week and a half ago this screen keeps popping up like constantly, even when I'm in the middle of something.
It's the clock screen, the screen when u click on the clock app, but i will be texting, on the app market, playing a game, making a phone call, this screen will come up and go away and come up and go away, I have to hold the home button in and click which app I was on and even when I do that it will still go back and forth. When I'm on a phone call it will turn the speaker phone off and on.
Right now I have it sitting on my text page and it keeps going to the clock screen then back to the text page then to the clock screen then to the text page.
I have NO IDEA how to fix this. I tried uninstalling all of my apps to see if that would work. I have tried resetting the apps too.
SOMEONE PLEASSEEE HELP ME WITH THIS. It is driving me crazy, I can't even finish texting a simple text before that screen pops up.

    Hi samfrasha:
We want our customers to know what time it is, but that is one step too far! I'd like to help you fix it.  I know you have tried removing all of you applications without any changes.  Have you tried pulling out the battery? We'll keep the hard reset on the back burner for now, but we may need to come back to it.  Does the phone react like a charger is being plugged into it? Some devices come up with a clock right away when you plug them in, and if your phone is detecting a charge (something wrong with the charging port), that could explain it.  Check your charging port to ensure it is clear of debris.
This could also be a software problem. Try clearing the cache/data on any clock-related applications in Settings> Applications> Manage Applications> All.   If that doesn't work, it may be best to do a hard reset.  Please let us know any updates on your issue.
    Thanks,

  • Analog clock/screensaver Nokia 6303C

    Hello,
My company phone is a Nokia 6303C. Nice phone but something's wrong with the analog clock.
I've set is as a wallpaper but is it not working properly. When I set the clock the time
adjusts, that is ok, but when I have a look at the clock, let's say 45 minutes later, the
time has not changed to the current time.
The only way to get the right time is to set the clock again. That, ofcourse, is not handy.
Anyone who can help me with this one?
    Thanks and greetings
    Henk

I don't get hold of your phone model but basically it's all the same for all models of Nokia:
    Press menu->Settings->Date & time->Clock type->select analog

  • 'Analogue clock' screensaver

I used to have an analogue clock screen saver on my previous nokia phones. Any idea how can I get that on Nokia E71 please?
    Thanks

Go to Nokia's S60 web site http://www.s60.com and register there. Then there's a free S60 analog clock screen saver that you can download and install.

  • Question re standby clock N95

    Hi,
I've just got an N95. With my SE K800 when it was in clock 'screensaver' mode you could press the volume keys on the side to cause the back light on the screen to illuminate so you could see the clock-pressing other keys would take you to the main screen. Doesn't seem to work this way on the N95-it's retarded-when I wake up in the night etc I just want the little status screen saver to be illuminated so I can read the time etc.
Any ideas-anyone else understand what I'm on about?!
    Cheers.

I know that dude, I was wondering if there is anyway to have it so that a single key press (one of the side buttons would be perfect for this) will simply illuminate the standby screen for a few seconds without having to open the phone, use multiple key presses to unlock the phone and without sending it into full on lights-alive-mode. Anyone who has used the SE phones will hopefully understand what I mean.
Just another thing I'll have to get used to, like not having a stopwatch or countdown timer as standard....
the stopwatch countdown is a problem i agree there
BUT there is a work round for the stopwatch
    http://europe.nokia.com/A4323689
download and install sports tracker from Nokia
you will find it has a great big stopwatch to time events but you can time any thing with it

  • Synergy 6500 Screensaver resets problem.

I've recently started using a Synergy 6500 with additional handset and am a bit miffed that the clock screensaver keeps resetting to the BT picture on both the base phone and the extension.
    Any ideas why?
    Thanks.

    Hi bds1958,
Thanks for posting. If you have the Caller Display service, the base
sets the date and time for all handsets whenever a call is received automatically but you can also set manually. You'll find the instructions on page 29 of the user guide .
    Cheers

  • LCD stay lit while docked?

    Hi all,
I've noticed that when my 160GB is docked and I'm either syncing or have the iPod set to manual, the LCD stays lit. Is this happening to everyone else? When the iPod is set to manuyal is when we need the clock screensaver.
BTW, when playing music, it would be nice if there was an option to have the LCD go to minimum brightness instead of turning off. This wasn't a problem with my iPod Photo but what that LCD turns off it is almost impossible to see any text. I hope the backlight of my classic doesn't stop working like my iPod Photo's backlight did.
    Thanks,
    Steven

I believe that "feature" was added in the second go around of the 5th generation iPods where when plugged in and syncing or mounted as a drive, the backlight stays on all the time but at minimum brightness.
As to your second comment, you can set the LCD backlight to the minimum yourself then set the backlight timer to always on.

  • Nokia 6500c - New Firmware, please!

This is the message I was trying to send through the "Feedback" page in Nokia.com, but it doesn't work! Very strange. So I'm posting it here and hoping that maybe this message will reach Nokia themselves.
Hello, I own a 6500 classic. I can say I'm really happy I got it, although it was a bit expensive for me. I enjoyed it from the minute I got it, first of all, because it's really nice looking, comfortable to use and work with. It's my first high class Nokia phone - I've had 3310, 6030, 1110i and finally the 6500c. I'm a Nokia fan :-) However, I think, I could give you some personal ideas about the performance of the phone, and what could be fixed and done better, after all, there's always room for improvement and Nokia, as a leading mobile phone manufacturer, strives for perfection.
Just to make sure, I have the RM-265 type, 42.02 variant, V 03.21.
One thing for sure, that could be included in the firmware update, I think, could be management of the display: the user should be able to change the contrast and backlighting, in order to save some battery time. The other thing, why not include a "screen off" type of screen saver? I find the current system quite ineffective: if you do set (any) screensaver on and lock the keypad or don't do anything, it, of course, turns the screensaver on, but then, after some minutes turns into the little "overview" box that slides from place to place showing Time and Date, you know, and the display automatically turns itself off after just some 15-20 mins more. Now, I really find the "Analogue clock" screensaver beautiful, but then it turns into the not-so-nice little box previously mentioned. So I now use the phone with screensaver off in order to get the box from the beginning, as a screensaver. So, in all, Menu-Settings-Display-Screensaver-Screen off (timeout to set, too) would be great.
Other problems - you have to click twice to move down on contact list after searching (ie, type R and press down twice to get to the second person one the list rather than once)
    - Menus After saving a setting or discarding a setting, the phone will return to a random menu, not the related menu
    - Call / Green button - Displays call log as opposed to "Dialled calls"
    - This might not be a firmware/software issue, but the quiet places in MP3s (when played through the speaker) come out "scratchy" and not nice and pleasant to hear at all! Also, one can't listen to classical music on the speaker at all - too quiet and scratchy, as I said! That's the most disappointing bug. Maybe it's just my phone, but I've heard other people saying this is happening with their devices as well.
Thanks a lot, hope to see a firmware update for 6500c soon!
    Sincerely,
    Vytenis

does anyone have any idea hoe to download new software for the 6500c using a windows vista pc? Oh! what about the fact that after you have missed a call, received a message that the phone initially alerts you the one time;and if you don't get it;you are alerted no more.Thats not good.I guess if you don't here the phone ring the first time, then you are just **bleep** out until you have a reason to pick up the phone and then see that you missed a call or received a message.

  • Nokia 2600 classic - help

this is the problem. i just bought it and whenever i save a wallpaper on tune as a setting it will go back to default settings after being turned off. plz help

    Hey Sage
You didn't answer lolangel's question which is the same as mine. When you personalise the 2600 with let's say 1. wallpaper off and 2. clock screensaver on, then turn the phone off. When you turn it back on the wallpaper is back on and the screen saver is off. There are no settings to save these settings the way I want them. Which is typical. I had an old nokia which you could personalise these settings turn the phone off, then back on and they would be as you left them. Specific help on this issue would be greatly appreciated thank you. As well as, the font on the digital clock screensaver is too small for me to see without glasses another regressive change from my old phone that had a standard (non changeable) large font I could read without glasses. Hope you are having a good one and all. Please get back to me with any help you can provide. Again Thank you.
    Regards

  • Screen Savers That Work While Listening To Music

HI, i'm having a hard time find a simple "screenblanker"(mabye text or a clock) screensaver saver that I can have on while listening to music. My problem is all the apple original screen savers, they all turn off when I ajust my music volume! And i dont want this to happen  Anyluck?

I have a very cool suggestion for you:
1: Download the free SoundStream screeensaver and install it, set it as your screensaver.
    http://pcheese.net/software/soundstream/
2: Next open AppleScript Editor and paste this script in:
    tell application "System Events"
        if process "ScreenSaverEngine" exists then
            tell application "ScreenSaverEngine" to quit
        else
            do shell script "System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Versions/A/Resources/ScreenSav erEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background > /dev/null 2>&1 &"
        end if
    end tell
4: Now Save the script "DeskScreen" as a Application to your Utilities Folder and drag a alias to the Dock.
    5: Hide the Dock (optional)
6; Play iTunes and enable the "DeskScreen" and enjoy, uses your microphone and the sound to create effects.
7: To stop the effect, just click the "DeskScreen" icon in the Dock again and it turns off. You have full use of the computer too.
8: Works with most screensavers. Eats CPU/GPU, so you might want to cut it off when your using the machine for heavy duty programs.
    Enjoy
    and a bonus....free 3D game...
