Clock setting

when traveling to another time zone, my Samsung Note 3 will not automatically update to local time?  How can I resolve this?

But the OP wants the phone to update to the new time-zone automatically....
Did I misread the intent behind the question?

  • Clock set before 2-24-01 - WHY????

When the mini was turned on this morning (out of town for a day, so turned it off before leaving) the clock was 2-26-94 with the wrong hour setting and a window that read Clock Set Before 2-24-01 etc. I turned on the automatically set clock date (was not previously on) and connected via ISP and it updated, but from using other Mac's over the past 12 years this usually meant the internal battery needed replacing although most lasted 3 or more years. So this happening in a Mini at one year puzzles me.
This is second time this has occurred.
    Solution?
It's Under Apple Care but I didn't get the "quick Reference Guide" that was supposed to be in the original materials or the Apple Care Protection Plan
    materials.
    Mini, 1GB, 1.42 GHZ, 80G   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I would set the clock now.
Then, after you have made sure that the date and time are correct, I would turn the computer off.
Then, un-plug it from it's power supply.
I would leave the computer un-plugged for maybe 5 or 10 minutes.
Then, plug it in, and turn it on.
Check the date and time again.
If the date and time are incorrect again, then you know that either you're battery is dead or you're system has a PRAM problem somewhere.
If the machine is under warranty, then I would call to arrange an inspection and have it serviced.
If it's not under warranty, then you might try replacing the battery.
The Mac Mini uses a coin-cell battery like the PC's do.
So, you should be able to obtain a replacement battery at just about any local store. I haven't looked at mine, but it should be a CR2032 which is the same battery used by PC's and the iMac G5.
You should be able to find a battery at Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, and just about any other place that stocks batteries. The CR2032 is a common stock item at most stores.
As a side note, at least you're only goes back to 2001. I used to have a computer that would revert back to 1953 or 1956 when it's battery died. I can't remember which year, but I know it was in the 1950's.
Strange since we didn't even have personal computer's back then (much less the digital timers used in computers). How weird. I know the clock in that machine was made by Dallas Semiconductors.

  • Why is Clock Set unstable?

In my practice i realized that setting clocks always change to "a dead old time of 1993 i think this was the factory default" whenever i restart the router, even though the new "clock set" is saved to "startup"
Can anyone please help as to why this is happining and how to come about resolving it?
The command used was "clock set hh:min:sec MONTH DATE YY"
    Thanks

Olu, the seting time/date unfortunately is not saved in configuration , in most cases this is normally resolved by configuring network time protocol also known as NTP , in the event that you do not have an internal server that provides NTP information there are numerus public NTP server out in the internet where you can pooint your local NTP servers to sync up with public NTP servers, do a search on google for public NTP once you get some of this information then you don't have to use anymore clock set but point your device to NTP servers to pool time date information onto your router or switch.

  • Clock setting will be cleared by reload with "ntp server" configuration?

    Hi,
I have configured 7204VXR (NPE300) processor with IOS Version 12.1(9) as "ntp server", and the clock settting have not been cleared by system reboot. I remember that the manual clock setting is cleared by reload or power off and on of the device.
Clock setting will not be cleared by reload or power off and on if the device is configured as "ntp server"?
    Best Regards,

Double check your config. Here's the URL for help: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121cgcr/fun_c/fcprt3/fcd303.htm#xtocid2592116

P.S. If you have trouble helping me with my problem. Think about how much trouble I am having helping you with yours. Especially when I do not have a clue what the specs of your Hardware, OS and Power Supply are.

  • 8451 I2C clock setting error

If you attempt to configure the I2C clock on the USB-8451 over the maximum of 250kHz (e.g. 400kHz) you get the error -301702: 'NI-845x:  The supplied clock rate is too low. Refer to your hardware documentation for supported clock rates'. Any value up to 399 kHz is accepted by the configuration property. Trying to communicate afterwards with a clock setting between 250 and 399 kHz results in Warning  301700: 'NI-845x:  The passed-in clock rate was lowered to a clock rate value that the hardware supports. Refer to your hardware documentation for supported clock rates.'
On the other hand the configuration property accepts an clock rate setting of 1kHz without errors. The manual lists a minimum of 32 kHz. If you try to communicate afterwards, the same error number as above (-301702) shows up.
Should be corrected in driver software!

Hi - your statement is correct and the error is fixed in next version 1.2 of NI-845x driver
So please download it under www.ni.com/support (drivers and updates - search for 8451) when released in future
    Thanks for request

  • Router clock set configuration command missing

I am running 12(3)13 on my 3620 router. The only options to the clock command are summer-time and time-zone. I want to set the system clock and if I type clock set, I get an invalid response.
    Any clues?

Probably you are in configuration mode. You need to set clock from enable prompt
    2621-B#clock set ?
    hh:mm:ss Current Time
    2621-B#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
    2621-B(config)#clock ?
summer-time Configure summer (daylight savings) time
    timezone Configure time zone

  • How can I set an alarm clock set to a time zone?

    Hi,
I am about to go traveling quite a bit in multiple time zones. However, I have to take medication every 24 hours. I use the iPhone alarm to set a time. Is there a way I can adjust it so it goes off whenever it is, say 10pm in US eastern time zone even if I'm in another time zone and my iphone clock is local time?
    thanks!

    Hi, ralphsen01-
You can do this using window.scrollTo():
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3163615/how-to-scroll-html-page-to-given-anchor-using-j query-or-javascript
Please note that when you embed an Animate OAM into Muse, you're in effect putting it into an iframe.  Therefore, you need to call the parent window.  You can get more information on this by searching for "iframe to parent communication" in a search engine.
    Hope this helps,

  • Clock set wrong message and Spinning ball won't stop

When the screen comes up it shows message: clock is set before March 2001 needs to be changed. Hit ok button in that message and it doesn't do anything. So I can't fix time and the ball is spinning and won't stop. HELP

    Cinephile8,
probably not. There is an underlying problem that needs to be resolved. Which model MacBook Pro do you have, and which version of OS X is installed on it?
(In the interim, you can press Option-u then o to generate ö.)

  • 24 Hour Clock setting? Mail/iCal doesn't report/accept this format.

    Hi guys,
I am traveling a lot these days so to simplify my life, at least so I thought, I based all of my calendars around a 24-hour GMT schedule. Needless to say was not welcomed by my fellow American's and loved apps Mail & iCal. (iChat/Adium misbehave, too.)
I've set my clock 24hour, my timezone to GMT, and have been ignored by iLife. They continue to report AM/PM and its has made organization that more difficult. I would go back to EST/12hour, but dang-it this should be easy.
    TIA for feedback/help!
    -Jonathan

Answering my own post: In the iCal forum there was an answer which helped somewhat. I've managed to tweak my International Preferences to get iCal to report in 24hr time, but Mail is still acting weird.
Anyone have a simple/easy way to make all of the date/times in the same format? I get 0010, 00:10 and 01 Jan 2007 and 01 January 2007. Its nitpick at this point, but any help is appreciated.

  • Post imaging clock setting

My apologies if this has been asked and answered before (a search turned up nothing).
I recently completed imaging a classroom using NetInstall. After imaging, I realized I forgot to point the client machine clocks to our network time server.
Is there a way to change that setting on a group of machines remotely, without having to go machine by machine?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Resolved on another thread.

  • Clock setting message

On switching on this morning an on screen Apple(?) message informed me, that as my clock was set to "before January 2008" the operation of some software may prove erratic.
The clock was NOT set incorrectly and no problems have (thus far) been found, except my external Thomson wireless modem now needs it's password every time I reboot from shutdown. Other than that, all is normal.
    Any ideas?

That message means that the battery that maintains the internal clock has failed and is not keeping the time while shut down. If it only happened once, I'm not sure what might have caused it. The clock will automatically reset if you have it set up to get time from a time server automatically.
Does the modem need its password reset, or do you need to reset the password for the computer to access the modem? For the latter, try deleting the keychain item for the modem from Keychain Access (probably the system keychain). Reconnect and tell it to save the password.

  • Cpu fsb clock setting?

I bought a Microstar MS-6380E KT3 Ultra with an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ (1.53Ghz) 266FSB CPU -- it just got in today.
I have it all set up EXCEPT for the clock frequency.  The 6380 has a default of 100mhz, up to 220.  But the AMD Athlon XP 1800+ is supposed to be a 266 fsb.
I don't want to overclock my system -- am afraid to endanger my system when I really don't need the extra processing power.  I just want it set the way it should be.
There's another field -- CPU Ratio/Vcore (V), w/ the following manual description for it:
The items are used to adjust the CPU clock multiplier (artion) and CPU core voltage (Vcore).  The fields provide users a tool to overclock the system.  WARNING: Changing CPU Ratio/Vcore could result in the instability of the system; therefore, it is NOT recommended to change the default setting for long-term usage.
I was gonna _guess_ that I set my CPU FSB Clock to 133 and input a CPU clock multiplier (ratio) of 2 (assuming I could do that).  Is that the correct way to configure this AMD Athlon 1800+ to this motherboard?  The  'CPU core voltage (Vcore)' descriptor is what is making me afraid of experimenting.  I would really hate myself if I destroyed my new cpu and/or motherboard less than 6 hours of having received it.
    Please advise.

I doubt you can set the clock multiplier to "2" - simply it isn't available. Even if it is available and u hv not unlock your CPU, adjusting the multiplier ratio has no effect at all.
The default multiplier for 1800+ is 11.5x. Multiply it by 133fsb you get 1529.50mhz, hence xp1800+ (1.53G).
Don't confuse yourself, juz follow this setting if u r not overclocking:
    FSB Clock: 133
    CPU Ratio: AUTO
    CPU VCORE: AUTO

  • Powering off while on charger with alarm clock set!!!

So last night I put my droid 2 global on the charger and had my alarm set for Am, before I went to sleep I heard it beep letting me know it had reached full charge, I wake up at 930 today (slept through my classes) and looked over to see that my phone was off!!!!! The green battery battery that said %100 was up on the screen!!! Has anyone else ever had this problem?! Very very frustrating, and I have noticed that my phone had turned its self off then back on during the night before because when I wake up the icon for advanced task killer will be at the top but at least the phone had come back on.

The advanced task killer you're talking about? Is that an additional app you downloaded? Not trying to be snarky or anything but you do realize that your phone doesn't need one and that you're pretty much wasting good memory with that app right?
Perhaps one of your other apps had a memory leak that resulted in a reboot?
