Clock stops on Pre 2

A search reveals major issues with the internal clock in many Palm products but I cannot find any for the Pre 2 / WebOS 2.x.
My problem is that every time I turn off the screen the clock stops. Network time on or off makes no difference. The clock works if the phone is on the touchstone charger regardless if the display is on or off.
There is no clock sync app for the pre 2 and I have verified I have the latest WebOS. The phone has behaved this way since I received it two weeks ago. Restarts or taking out the battery does not help either.
Any suggestions?

It does appear that app is not avail at your location, Sweden right, so wont be avail on you catalog   Normally this app covers time drifting over time but not a total stop.  Does you device have the 2.0.1 webOS update?  If not, go into the Update application to get the webOS 2.0.1 update to see how that fairs.  If nogo still, then its time to run the webos doctor at palm.com/ROM to repair that aspect of the OS.  Keep us posted.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 clock stops

I have a server where the clock stops running. It just locks up in place. I can login and it will be stopped at a time and date 3 days ago. I have tried setting it to the time of another server but receive "System Error 5 has occurred, access is denied".
I also tried syncing with internet time but also receive "access is denied" I am logged in with the local administrator account. My last thought is that there is something wrong with the motherboard/BIOS on this server. I was hoping someone may have
seen this before and could lend some ideas.

I'd agree. I'd check the system board manufacturer's web site for an updated system bios.

  • NB205 completely freezes and clock stops

I have an aforementioned Toshiba NB205-N312, completely stock and less than 6 months old. After about three months of use, the computer began to completely freeze, and the clock stops. The only thing that corrects the issues is to "hard power-down" by holding the power button until the computer shuts down. On restart, everything works great until the next lockup, anywhere from 5 to 60 minutes down the road. I've seen another post for something similar that suggests a CMOS battery problem or bad RAM (again, completely stock here). Anything I can do to point the finger at one or the other without spending $$ to randomly replace stuff? Thanks!

I am getting the same symptoms (freeze, clock stop, hard boot required) AND all the Event Logs have nothing within 8 minutes of the freeze. I have updated drivers, bios, etc. I am a bit stymied at this time.  It can happen within minutes of being turned on or after hours of use. No pattern there that I can see. Just turned off the HDD protection feature since the freeze seems to happen less frequently when I am sitting with it stable on the desk than when my wife is on the couch with it on her lap. I know reaching on that theory. I'll give it some time.
One characteristic is that each time it happens we get a rectangular light red rectangular block at wherever the cursor is at the moment. The cursor need NOT be in motion. It happens just sitting and looking at some web page.
I keep telling myself, "I gotta be smarter than it" but so far I have not proven that to be true.
UPDATE: I have experienced the lockup only twice since I turned off the HDD protection feature and those were immediately after I made the change. It has been used quite a bit since then so I remain optimistic, but I must admit I cannot explain why there would be those two lockups if this really is the avoidance to the lockup problem. I remain hopeful that I am starting to get smarter than it. Will see. ThE

  • Clock stops running halting all operations on LaserJet M1522n MFP

    Greetings . . .
My LaserJet M1522n MFP worked flawlessly for nearly a year.  Then, the clock stops advancing in the display and all functions stop.  No error messages.
Curiously, when I reboot, it will perform any function selected immediately on reboot . . . until the clock stops advancing within 3 to 5 minutes.  NOTE:  Whenever I reboot, the clock shows the correct time.
Have written to HP, but did not receive a reply!
At times, the unit struggles to reboot requiring it be turned off.  It seems it must sit for 5 or more minutes before it can boot again.
My guess is that the problem is very minor, or, a corrupted boot sequence.
Any insight you can provide will be greatly appreciated.  The unit is not used much and is 2 years old now.

  • The clock stopped on my iMac?

The clock stopped and when I hold cursor over it the spinning wheel appears.

Use the Activity Monitor in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder to force quit SystemUIServer, and then relaunch it from /System/Library/CoreServices/.

  • Why does the menubar lock up (clock stops and rainbow-wheel keeps spinning)? I have a 2010 MBP with latest version of Mountain Lion.

Since installing Mountain Lion the Menubar on top keeps freezing. As a result the clock stops and the keyboard is not available.
I hope this can be fixed!
    Best,
    Anci

    Hi Brasov12311,
No, I have not received any responses. I had hoped that it would have been addressed through an update, but not such luck yet. The menubar appears to work for a while after restarting my MBP, but then it just stops. This is really enervating since I often need to use different keyboards - it really slows down my work!

  • T410 Clock Stops on Standby

I have a number of T410 Machines that are having an issue with their windows clocks.
When ever the laptops are put on Standby the Clock stops and doesn't start again until you log back in.
ie Put on Standby at 17:00 on Friday Evening Resume on Monday at 9:00 at which point the clock shows 9:00 Monday, Restarting the machine etc makes no difference.
As our clients machines are locked down the customers then have to get the helpdesk to amend the time for them.
The strange thing is it only loses the time once.  If you put the Laptop on Standby for an hour it loses 1 Hour but each subsequent time you put it on Standby after that the clock carries on as usual although still 1 hour out????
    Any suggestions welcomed

    Adaspoo,
I too have a very similiar problem with T-410s bios clock. In my scenario there are many (about 30) laptops that are placed into standby almost daily. At random times with no ryhme or reason, the bios clock stops at the moment they were placed in standby. When they are powered back up the time on windows taskbar shows the standby time and date. If NTP gets its network time it updates within seconds. If NTP query fails the time is out of sync for an average of 15 minutes or so.
If i take a laptop that is out of sync and immediately power it down and load into the Bios I see the time is out of whack there as well. As i understand it, if NTP cant get the correct time on the network or internet it will default to bios time, which for some reason is whacked.
When this first occured we were running Bios version 1.32 We have since been updating to the latest version which is 1.36.
This seems to help a great deal and the out of syncs are way less common but they stil happen.
Right now I have Lenovo Engineers looking into the hardware/Bios side of things and Microsoft Engineers looking into the software/networking side of things. So far everyone is just scratching their heads.

  • My alarm clock stopped working....why?

My alarm function in my clock has stopped working. Any thoughts on how to fix tis?

Try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.
There's more to try but let's go a bit at a time.

  • When I lock my iPhone 5c, the clock stops running.

    Hi.
    I have a Green iPhone 5c (GSM).
Every time I lock the phone, it - without fail -  stops keeping time.
    The clock just stops.
Also, my WiFi and Bluetooth crash, and "flicker" often.
    Thanks, Will.

Easy fix and you shouldn't have wasted a trip to the store. To fix, simpy backup your iPhone via iTunes and then click the Restore iPhone button. Once you restore and add everything back, if the problem still continues you will need to restore the iphone again, however you will then need to set it up as a new device and start adding your data back manually. This will isolate what's causing this issue. However the initial backup/restore should take care of the issue. It's not a hardware problem - it's a software issue.

  • Alarm clock stopped working

The alarm clock on the BB 9360 stopped working. So now it works every 5th time. Please help. What might be the possible problem?
    Thanks

It's probably been a while since you've restarted your phone and it has since collected lots of junk files.
While your phone is powered on, remove your battery then replace it a few seconds later. You won't lose any data and this will clear your phone's cache and will most likely resove your issue. You might even see your phone running smoother and quicker than before.
Let us know if that helps you.

  • I have a clock VI that I attached to several other VIs to keep track of running times but for some reason the clock stops at 24 minutes. Why?

I got this VI form a member of the forum. He used it for the same reason so I figured that it worked. I can't seem to fine the reason that it stops at 24 minutes. Could it been something on my computer stopping it. But I have run this VI on several PCs and got the same results.

    CLOCK.vi ‏40 KB

I am not sure what the VI is supposed to be doing. It seems like it will keep track of time it takes to execute x (=3600xNumeric+1) numbers of iterations. How long it takes depends on the system. If the VI runs slower on a particular system, it will take longer to execute the same number of loop iterations than on another station. For example, on my machine it took 6 min to execute the VI with Numeric=1. Another factor is the wait time set in the loop to =100. I don't see anywhere this taken into the consideration.
I am sending you another VI that counts the time from the start of execution until the Stop button is pressed. Of course, you can replace the Stop button with a condition that suites your needs.
    Hope this helps.

  • MIDI CLOCK stopped working and I can't figur this one out.

I have been sending MIDI clock to my Native Instruments Guitar Rig so I can sync the Loop Machine with Logic, everything was working pretty good till...??? I am not sure what I could have done to goof it up but now I get no MIDI signal out the port ( I set it to all MIDI ports). I tested the cables with a LED tester and all the settings I set to get it working in the first place but now Logic seems to not be sending the clock any longer. I also sync a Micron keyboard and use its arpegiator... well I was till this happened. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Delete Logic preferences from the user>library>preferences folder
(export your key commands before deleting)

  • Maybe this bug has been listed before - clock stops displaying correct time

Hello! Maybe this has already appeared in the forums. Imac G5 2megs with leopard 10.5.2 - has a wacom tablet and flip4mac installed - otherwise no other extensions or non-apple hardware/software. At some point - at irregular intervals - my clock no longer advances, and any mouse hovering over the right side of the menubar displays the spinning wheel of "death." When I run activity monitor I see that the 'systemUIserver' is not responding. Any clue what causes it to lock-up? Is this a known bug that may be fixed soon? Thanks

Yes, bug listed. It's due to your 3G firewire iPod being plugged in and maybe some other issue. Unplug your 3G iPod and your golden.

  • All of a sudden, my clock stopped announcing the time

    Hello folks,
My clock setting is to announce time every half hour. When I go to settings, customize voice and push "play" for the chosen voice, all I get is silence
iMac sound is at maximum volume and I hear everything: music, tones, Skype, etc., etc. but not the clock announcing
    Does anybody has a hint?
    Thanks   Paulo

    Hello evebody,
Maybe somebody will be interested.  I solved the problem myself, as I discovered what was affecting my clock announcement was a left over of Conduit Search.
After eliminating it all returned to normal
