Clock won't display the correct time

Question

Having owned a Mac since 1985, you'd think I could set the clock. But it seems possessed - I set it and come back later, it's changed itself to the wrong time again.
This happens whether I have it set automatic or manual. I set it manually and then lock it, but it still gets messed up. And my time zone is set correctly as well.

Very rare to have a bad battery right from the get go, but it has been in a previous Intel-based iMac thread:

I notice that there's a recommendation to do a PRAM reset, and you might want to try that. To reset the PRAM:
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following four keys on the keyboard: Command (Apple logo), option, P, and R. You will need to hold these four keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Start up the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination after the startup chord sounds, but before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold all four keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup chord for the second time.
6. Release the keys.
Afterwards, some of your System Preferences, such as "Startup Disk" or "Energy Saver" or "Date & Time" or some other, may need to be reset.
If that doesn't help, since it'll be a warranty item, let Apple determine if the PRAM battery is the cause of your time problem. With some luck, there's an easier fix.
EDIT-
It does seem odd that the time is off, but the date correct, so I believe there's probably a good chance that there's a solution that Apple will have that I'm not aware of.
