Hi,
Can I clone Apps 11.5.8 (DB 8.1.7.4) from solaris sparc (5.9) to solaris x86 ? after that upgrade to 11.5.10.2 ?

RMAN clone EBS

Hi:
I am using RMAN to clone EBS R12. After the clone I checked the log file against the /staging/.../PROD (data files) and found last three files are not in the log file that mean they are not copied. We use "SET UNTIL SEQUENCE 80426 THREAD 1". Is that Okay or the clone is failed?

There were no errors in the log file except at the end it says

But I managed to open the database. I did get error like flash area space problem. After increase the db_recovery_file_dest_size, the database and apps are up and running.
How to compare schemas and table records? So normally, all the datafiles should be copied/cloned to the target instnace, right?

Clone EBS without shutdown EBS

EBS version: 12.1.3the general method to clone EBS system is to shutdown the appTier and dbTier and then copy all the file to target system, and use adcfgclone to config.
I want to know how to clone the EBS system online(without shutdown apps and db).
I suppose I can copy a part of EBS files and use RMAN to recover db ,at last run adcfgclone. Is it OK?

I want to clone my oracle ebs environment
source server : karamba
source database : PROD
Target server : djaraff
target database : CLNE
I follow the oracle support document ID 406982.1.
But when i run perl adcfgclone.pl
i have the error

Oracle database error after clone EBS 11i.

Hi,
I am getting following error ORA-01578 message when I open forms after the cloning.
APP-FND-01564: Oracle error 1578 in fdmgrated.
But no error in database alert log file.
Clone was done by RMAN.
Oracle 10gR2 on AIX.
EBS 11i.

I do not have any docs for cloning 11.0.3 on Windows, but I have the document for cloning (release 11.5.1 to 11.5.5 non-AutoConfig enabled Oracle Applications systems) which I think is no longer available on Metalink (and of course not supported anymore). If you want to have a copy of this document, please let me know.

EBS 11i java error during clone.

Hi,
I am getting following error during the clone EBS 11i on IBM AIX 6.1.
applmgr@PROD11]/u01/oracle/prod11comn/clone/bin> perl adcfgclone.pl appsTier
ERROR: cannot find jre or java under /u01/oracle/prod11comn/clone/bin/../jre/bin
Please verify that you ran adpreclone.pl successfully

Hi,
check if any softlinks pointing to the source path under $COMMON_TOP/clone/jre/bin.
if not delete clone directory under $COMMON_TOP/ on target node
rerun adpreclone.pl on source node,
copy the $COMMON_TOP/clone fro source to target and retest the issue.

Cloning EBS 11.5.8 Instance

Hello All,
I want to clone an EBS11.5.8 Instance.
I am not sure how to work on this, as I don't see appsutil dirctory in the ORACLE HOME on the DB tier.
Can someone please help me on how to clone this without using "Rapid Clone".

Clone and consoliate all application servers to one??

we are doing clone EBS system testing. our EBS system is following:
1. database server
2. primary application server -- all modules except batch process
3. secondly application server -- all modules except batch process
4. addition application server -- batch process only
after clone we plan have following structure:
1. database server
2. application server -- all modules
Is it possible?

Which (forum) does this master-detail table design question belongs to or appropriate to post to?
I have 3 basic entities> servers, databases, and apps
example:
servers=server1,server2,server3,etc
database=PROD1,DEV1,TEST1,etc
apps=GL,FA,AP,AR,INV,HR,etc
In every server there are many database type (dev,prod,test,prod1, prod2,etc)
In every apps there are many database type too (dev,prod,test,prod1, prod2,etc)
So databases are children of both servers and apps?
To which parents does this "children" database legally belong?

In every server there are many database type (dev,prod,test,prod1, prod2,etc)It possible, i mean on same server you could have EBS's database like dev,prod and also can have oracle database which is not belong any EBS system like sid ORCL
In every apps there are many database type too (dev,prod,test,prod1, prod2,etc)I belive this is wrong, One EBS has one Database but it doesnt mean that database need extra data from other source which is using ETL etc. So your EBS db always parent and get data from child, and also that main db can update information which is exist on child
You could have one PROD and can clone it as CLON so those 2 instance have actualy same data and same proporties, we cant say those dbs has parent-child relation. But we can say CLON ebs produced by PROD instance

Perl adcfgclone.pl dbTier fails on control file creation

Platform is : Linux 5
DB: 11.1.0.7
R12.1.1
I have a temp file that had been removed at the OS level.. on the source And I want to updated the control file regarding this so that it does not record this file any more.
I am using rapid clone (EBS) to cone this source database unto the target but is failing on the target control file creation as it's trying to find the temp file that had been removed at the source. OS level.
So I will like to update the control file on the source so that it does not reflect this dropped temp file any longer and then do the clone again.
So What's the best way to achieve this or please point me to a metalink note:

Thanks for getting back to me.
I found that the issed was that there is a datafile that was dropped at the source at the OS level ... ( A mistake by one of support staff).
So How can I modify the control file creation at the target not to reference the data file that does not exist. I have tried removing it as stated in my previore post but it stall fails at the control file creation

I am at edelivery.oracle.com now to download OEL4.8
But I found 2 choices:
Oracle Linux Release 4 Update 8 for x86 (32 Bit) - DVD V16749-01 2.2G

4. Upgrade OEL4.8 to OEL5.6I have doubt here, why you dont install directly OEL5.6 and follow 1,2,3 steps on this version?
