Clone of a VM does not propogate network interfaces

Hi,
I am looking for a help. When I am cloning a VM, I am seeing that network interfaces are not getting propogated to the new cloned VM. I am using B200 M2 blades.
I am cloning a VM with RHEL 6.3.
Appreciate any help on this.
Thanks,
Santhosh

Hi,
There is an issue with RHEL 6.3 OS while cloning. Following two steps have to be done before cloning a RHEL 6 VM.
1.    Remove “HWADDR” from /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0.
2.    Remove /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules file.
Thanks,
Santhosh

  • Smf / sometimes does not configure network interfaces in single-user mode?

    From http://groups.yahoo.com/group/solarisx86/message/14785
When booting into single user mode, I often get a message
    on the console
t_optmgmt: System error: Cannot assign requested addressand only the loopback interface is configured (lo0 inet, and lo0 inet6).
The system's dnet0 interface is not plumbed any more. Configuration
for the dnet0 network interface is via a static ip address; hostname
in /etc/hostname.dnet0, and and ip v4 address for that hostname in
/etc/hosts. This was a Solaris 10 x86 system, but the same problem
has also been observed on Solaris 10 sparc, and the hme0
    interface.
svcs -x in single-user mode reports no problems.
Changing to multi-user mode by typing Ctrl-D still does not
    configure the real network interface.
One thing that I've noticed is that smf's log file
    /etc/svc/volatile/network-physical:default.log
is missing, when the nic interface was not configured.
It seems that the problem with unconfigured network interfaces
does not happen when I boot directly into multi-user mode.
Why isn't the physical interface plumbed and configured when
booting into single user mode on S10 b69?

in this i can't see "hosts: files" but i could see rest of the details. so I inserted "hosts: files dns" in the third line and saved.

actually during installation i selected DNS type for network giving a wrong nameserver and domain got skipped later
    #getent ipnodes dns (no response)
so all these things i did and found by seeing the forum guidelines. I can see the network connection has receivinh and sent packets seems to be working but can't browse internet, also can't ping a website.
if anyone had the same problem but found the answer than kindly let me know. I am new to solaris but i am trying my best.

Using Boot Camp, I installed Windows 7.
After restarting the computer it does not detect network hardware.
So I cannot connect to my Wifi.
    What should I do?

Did you download and install the Windows Support software? It was the first menu item when you ran Bootcamp Assistant. If not, run Bootcamp Assistant again and select the menu item to download the Windows Support software. Read the Bootcamp Installation Guide. http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/

  • EA2700 - Your Computer does not have Networking Capability?!

I'm kind of a novice when it comes to networking and computer.  I receently purchased a EA2700 for the house.  I've managed to plug everything in the proper locations, got everything going and internet working on my PC with a wired connection.  Everything was going smoothly until i put the setup CD in to setup the router.  I ran setup and at the loading bar (0%) an error came up saying that "Your Computer Does Not Have Networking Capability".  I'm using Nvidia nForce that came with the motherboard (to my knowledge at least).  I can go on websites and also get to 192.168.1.1 BUT I just can't seem to get pass that networking capability error.  I've also tried to update the Nvidia nForce driver but doing that caused my internet to not work at all.  So I just rolled back to the previous driver which could get me online at least.
If anyone has any idea how I can fix this, please let me know cause I'm out of ideas and not quite sure what I need to do at this point.  Thank you very much in advance.

Refer to the links below for steps on how to setup a router.

  • Can I convert a proxy for a class that does not has any interfaces?

Can I convert a proxy for a class that does not has any interfaces?

    Hi.
I can hardly understand your question: what do you want your proxy (what kind of proxy?) to be converted into?
All I can tell you is the following: Proxies created using java.lang.reflect.Proxy can only be created using an interface. This interface has to be implemented by the proxied object. So: no interface, no java.lang.reflect.Proxy.
    Bye.

  • ITunes does NOT detect network connection when I use a 3G modem

    Hi
since christmas iTunes has not been able to update when i commute, using a 3G USB modem. Over enabled and live WLAN or Ethernet interfaces everything works fine, but TCPdump does not register any packets at all from iTunes when only the USB 3G modem is up. All other networking activities work in this state, but iTunes erronously thinks there is no network and doesn't even initiate network activity.
Seems iTunes tries to be smart by detecting "is there network" by asking something in the OS, rather than trying?
Is this a bug? Am I the only one experiencing this? Is this isolated to my particular 3G modem/ISP? I don't think so...
    thanks for any enlightenment,
    peter

Hi. Just go a bit further by process of elimination which you've already started. Here's a couple more things you can try.
    1. Different USB cable?
    2. Try plugging into another computer just to see if your iPhone will get recognised then.
If it still deosn't work then I can only assume that the handset itself has developed some kind of fault, in which case, just book a 'Genius' appointment at your local Apple store asap and get it replaced.

  • AirPort does not detect networks, unless another network connection is made

I've just done a clean install of OS 10.5 to see if this problem was software related, but it persists.
AirPort does not detect any network the computer is near (tested in various locations) normally, but when connecting to a network via Ethernet or to another Mac via Firewire to use network sharing, it can update and load web pages as normal. A strange quirk I've noticed though, whenever connecting with ethernet or firewire, AirPort will suddenly detect the network! It still can't quite connect to WiFi properly though. While still connected through firewire or ethernet, it will have no connectivity through a self-assigned IP. If it is disconnected from ethernet and firewire again, the wireless network will still show up in a re-scan for networks but it will fail to connect.
I've opened the computer up to ensure that the airport extreme card is seated properly as well, and that the antenna cable is secured properly.
Any ideas as to what the issue is? Should I look into replacing the AirPort Extreme card?

Got no answer on my original post, so I went ahead with ordering a replacement AirPort card on eBay (item #130487488014). Once installed, the iMac was able to detect and connect to networks normally... but was still unable to load any web pages. I tried on secured and unsecured networks as I did previously, and plugging directly into the router and into my Macbook Pro via firewire, with the same results as before. Safari loads pages when connected with an ethernet or firewire cable, but will not load pages on WiFi alone. I can attempt to access a router setup page via WiFi, and am prompted for a username/password, but the page itself never manages to load.
Any clues as to what may be going on here?!

  • Server side does not detect network failure

    Hi folks,
I coded a simple chat program. When a client connects to the multi-thread server, server shows newly connected client's IP address. Now, if the connection between client and server is down, client detects and terminates itself but server does not. The server still shows that client as connected. when I traced the server side, I found out that server was waiting at the readObject (client object input stream) line but it didn't throw any IOException. I tried to send some message to all connected client at every 20 seconds, so I expected to catch IOException when the server did not reach the client. Unfortunately, it didn't work. That is my question how can server side detect network failure?
    Thanks for help.
    Regards
    Bulent

That is how TCP works (noting that it has nothing to do with java.)
Your solution is one of the following or some combination...
    - If the server does not receive something every X time period then it disconnects.
    - If the server has not received something after X time period it sends a keep alive message to the client. If the client does not respond (or the message fails) then the server disconnects.

  • TCP Read does not detect network conncetion closed error (66)

    Hi Dear all,
Instead of LAN i am using WLAN to connect PC and mobile. All communication read and write operations are performing ok. But the only problem i am facing is that once i disconnect network connection from mobile my labview TCP read operation does not detect it and only timesout at its specified interval. Although for Bluetooth network connection if i disconnect from mobile then BT read detects it as network conncetion closed by peer error (66).
Can someone help me on this.
    Thanks & Regards

I studied your recommended article but which way Labview handles TCP close connection then. i am unable to understand how to detect Disconnection during Read Time out. Kindly help me in this.
    Regards
    awais qureshi
I have not tested it but more likely than not you would get an error 59 when the network cable is unplugged. Error 66 is for when the network is still up and you attempt to communicate on an established connection that has been closed by the other side. This is not an error that you will se from a TCP read very often.
Also, please keep you related question in a single thread rather than starting multiple threads for the same topic.

friend visiting my daughter.  her new iphone does not locate my daughter's wifi.  my daughter is connected to it with mer macbook.  the phone "sees" other networks in the areas.  why not this one?
PS  had her shut down phone and then turn it back on.  no effect.
had her enter the network name in "Other," but it still could not locate it.

    it is not hidden.

other devices, including my iphone, have connected to this network recently.  as noted, my daughter's macbook "sees" and is connected to the network.
the network is up and available.

  • AirPort in Intel iMac loses connection and does not see network

I bought an Intel iMac in the summer of '06. I had no problems connecting my airport card to my house wireless network which uses an AirPort Extreme Base Station.
In september I brought my iMac to college and used an AirPort Express as my base station. I had no problems other than that the computer did not automatically reconnect to the network upon start up.
In december I returned home and configured the AirPort Express (located on the main level of the house) to extend the network of the AirPort Extreme (located upstair in the bedroom next to my iMac).
Lately the iMac loses connectivity to the wireless network randomly while the computer is on, even in the middle of using it. Not only does it lose the signal but does not list my network when i click the airport signal icon on the top bar of the screen. Once in a while it will have it listed but will give me an error when trying to connect. The only way I have of fixing the problem is to restart the computer.
I know the airport base station works fine and the network is still there becasue I have a PowerBook G4 that I will put right next to the iMac and the PowerBook will still be connected to the network.
    Can someone help?

I have a very similar problem. My machine's airport connection has always been a little flaky, but it's always gone on working. However, yesterday I turned on WEP 128 bit encription. It now connects for a few minutes and then I see the signal strength gradually die until it goes off completely. There are then two ways to get it back working: 1. close the lid, then open it again; 2. tun off the airport, then turn it on again. When I do that the signal strength suddenly comes on full after about 3 seconds. The G4 iMac I have doesn't suffer from this problem. I am using a netgear access port as the base station.

  • Previously networked computer does not see network

I recently exchanged my Airport Extreme for a Time Capsule. My iMac picked it up immediately. Another networked iMac has been a little bit of a problem, since it occasionally gives me a message that it is not connected to the internet, despite the fact that the network shows up. Through trial and error I can usually get it back on track. My biggest problem is the Powermac G5, which always picked up the network, and which does not see it at all. I entered the name of the network with the password, and got a message that there was an error connecting to it. No network at all shows up in the drop down menu for Airport. What am I doing wrong here???

You might try the three suggestions in the second message of this thread:

  • OEL6.1 in VM manager does not see network card

I installed OL6.1 as a guest machine in VM manager. I started the install process and when I got to the network configuration it would not let me click on "configure network", it was greyed out. I thought that was a little bit odd but I just thought that I would configure it later. Once I got to the desktop of OL6.1 i checked for the eth0 settings but there was no eth0 at all. The OL6.1 did not even know a network card existed, but I tried to add it manually and still it did not see anything and would not connect to the internet. Has anyone seen this problem before? Thanks.

I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge your questions but I am a bit new at this. I downloaded the OEL 6.1iso media from Oracle site, I then imported it into the resources section in VM manager 2.1.
I then used the create new Virtual Machine and selected the server pool.
I selected the ISO file with OEL 6.1.
I gave it a name, memory size, console password.
Below that I can see the Virtual Network Interface is selected and it shows Bridge xenbr0.
It is showing Fully Virtualized machine not paravirtualized mode. As far as I know I did not install in Xen HVM or with PV drivers.
That is about all I did. Then I started the machine and when through the install process but it did not see the virtual network device.
