Clone Stamp not working ( PE Version 10) on iMac running 10.10.1)

Hi there,
I have two Macs both running Photoshop Elements 10. The HDD recently died on my iMac requiring a reinstall.
Everything else works in PSE10 apart from the cloning stamp. I have reinstalled PSE and reset the tool. I get the cross
hairs on pressing cmd and then when I try and paste I get the error report that I have not defended the stamp area, which I have.
Oh, the clone stamp works fine on my MacBook.
I hope someone can help please, I recall having this issue sometime back and it was a pref file fix it I recall correctly.

Clone Stamp not working in Elements 5

I have tried the trouble shooting sugestions on page 245 of Photoshop Elements 5, The Missing Manual by Barbara Brundage. However, I have been unable to get my clone stamp to work. Previously the clone stamp was working o.k. Do you have any other suggestions that I might try?
Also, are there some good editing advantages/improvements by upgrading to Elements 7 ?

I held the keys down while starting the editor from the welcome screen and
got the box to delete the preferences. However I have not been able to get
the clone stamp to work. The delete preferences must have worked because my
brushes were changed back to the original setting. I normally use a
different setting to show the brushes as circles. I have been trying to
clone with the Size: 21 ps; Mode: Normal; Opacity: 100% and Aligned checked.
I have tried both checking and unchecking Aligned and Sample All Layers. I
tried a different photo but with the same results. When I Alt click to clone
I get a small circle with something similar to a plus sign in the circle.
The Edit shows an "Undo clone stamp" each time I Alt Click and try to clone
but nothing was cloned.
This is the first time that I've encountered this problem.

Clone stamp not working in CS6

Each time i try to use my actions is says"could not use the clone stamp because the area to clone has not been defined (option-click to define a source point)" or "unable to do ____". Any advice on how to fix this? Thanks!

Thank you for responding so quickly. I am aware that the actions do not store brush tips. This is occuring after i select my tips and try to use the action. it was working perfectly all day and then when I tried editing a new photo and the message errors started popping up with multiple actions. I am very new to PS and I'm used to working in lightroom, but I know that to improve myself as a photographer I need to start learning more about ps. I'll try to post a screenshot now...my computer started acting funny when ps and lr were running earlier.

Photoshop CC Clone Stamp not working for me

There was another thread about this, several people reported this problem, but so far no response from Adobe. Let's try this again.
The Clone Stamp no longer works right. It's slow and sampling results are all over the place. It will sample from areas I never even ALT clicked on. And it can't keep up with rapid sampling and stamping. As is, Photoshop CC is totally unusable for photo retouching work.
I switched back to CS6, which still works fine, so the problem is NOT on my end.
Running Windows 7 64bit. Photoshop CC 64bit.
Can we get some response from Adobe please ??

I hope I have not missed something and am reinventing the wheel here, but I had a think about how Windows uses the Alt key. People are quite right, that even with the Clone tool selected, using the Alt key initially brings up the Menus (waiting for their 'mostly' first letter short cuts) but Windows releases the Alt key as soon as you left click on the source.
But what other ways does Windows use the Alt key? I think this is something Noel would be the best to answer, but THIS LINK mentions using Alt left mouse to move a window in Ubuntu, for instance. But Ubuntu is not Windows I guess. I am way out of my comfort zone with this stuff!
There is somebody HERE talking about that same Alt click drag facility to resize windows, but this time with Linux, and he is given a link to a tool that impliments the same feature in Windows. What I am saying/asking here, is do any of the people with problems have anything else on their systems that traps an Alt click?
As a little aside, I installed Lazy Nezumi while using my laptop, because it is cheap as chips, and I need all the help I can get when it comes to drawing nice lines in Photoshop. It works great, and does everything it claims, but it also messes up some Photoshop shortcuts. It allows you to reprogram those shortcuts to other keys though, so I shall be doing that when I put it on my main system. You see my point though?

Clone Stamp Not Working Properly

Using Maverick & PS CC..... When I choose the Clone Stamp Tool I place it over the (in this case) color I want to copy, click and paint with it over another color. However, the original source color is not being selected. I also see two cross-hairsafter I cloick on the source color, release the mouse then click and hold over the color I want replaced over with the source color. Hope this makes sense.

Why does clone stamp not work?

When I use Photoshop Elements 9, I get the following error: Could not use clone stamp tool because of a program error. I uninstalled Photoshop Elements and reinstalled it with the same results. This error shows up on both my XP computer and my Windows 7 computer.

Try selecting the clone stamp tool and then do a re-set.

CLONE STAMP NOT WORKING ON ELEMENTS 10

I AM GETTING AN ON SCREEN MESSAGE WHEN TRYING TO USE THE CLONE STAMP.
It reads......
'COULD NOT USE THE CLONE STAMP BECAUSE A PROGRAMME ERROR.'
I contacted ADOBE via a live chat. Very nicely thay told me that the DVD was OK but they really had no idea why I had the problem and suggested I contact the forum.

First thing to do is to reset the tool. On the clone stamp options bar, click on the little triangle icon, top left. Reset the tool.
If that does not fix it, suggest that you reset preferences to default.

Rapport will not work on version 34 as I run Mac OX 10.6.8 and have to keep this OS, can I have version 32 back?

Firefox say we must not run version 32 as not secure. Is version 34 secure enough to not have to use Rapport. Or does Trusteer have to come up with a new version of Rapport for this configuration of OS and browser? It looks that one cannot get the previous versions of Firefox.

It is easy enough to try. Drag the MacKeeper.app to the trash. It should pop-up a message asking if you really want to delete. You do. I am starting to affiliate market and need a donotfollow plug in or add on and the one available on your site will not work with version 4 of Firefox. OK - to answer my own question, Apple recommend 8.2.1, but you can install 9.1.1 and it will run on a G3. Very slowly. Looks like this is the only option. Get it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1036. You need OSX 10.4.11 or later though....

Windows 8 Last Access Time Stamps not working

Hi I have been trying to fix a issue with last access time stamps not working when I open a file
so will have time on created modified and accessed from when created but some are wrong like one file

Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
