Close etc. buttons on the false side?

I think since iTunes 10 the close and minize buttons should be on the left side, but they are still at the top. Deleted the iTunes files from my personal music folder and reinstalled iTunes. They are still at the top. Can I configure this somewherere?

Are the volume controls enabled?
Settings > Sounds > Change with Buttons > ON
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the above does not resolve the issue, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

Moving minimize/close buttons to the right side

Since I don't have a Mac yet, you can skip the suck-it-up comments I've seen on other posts. I would like to buy a Mac... But I want the three window buttons on the left, moved to the right side, not to just be like MS Windows, but to also be like most of the window managers for X Windows (Linux). You can move MS Windows buttons to the left side, is it really the case that there is no way to move these buttons to the right on a Mac?
BTW, this is a 18 years of doing this on the right, OCD deal breaker for me, when it comes to buying my first Mac. I can deal with the other UI differences.

That's hilarious. Not only should Apple OS X (and MS windows) be offering a of variety of predefined (but different) UI layouts (like Linux), Apple should at least allow programming access to this so 3rd parties could implement the change.
On a supporting note, Microsoft is going to be bringing back the option of having the classic shell with Windows 8, something that has been biting them in the *ss, since the release of Windows 8. This is usally because people don't realize that they can just pin their apps to the taskbar and then rarely use the start screen, which is why I didn't mind the change. But some people really want the start button on the taskbar too. I am a computer sales associate, so this isn't just my opinion, it's the opinion of about 20% of the market.

I don't even have it that bad, I don't have to organize every little aspect of my life, like some. But when it comes to changing something I've done the same way for 18 years, it's not going to happen.
Edit: I can even deal with the menu always at the top of the screen, but buttons on the left... That's a deal breaker.

For now, you can try using Ctrl + t to open new tabs if you can't open them otherwise, but try right clicking the tabs bar, clicking "customize," and then in the window that comes up try clicking the "restore default set" button. I don't know if it will work in your case but it wouldn't hurt to try.

Yahoo just updated my email and now the buttons on the left side are letters, not buttons. What happened and how do I fix it?

Those missing icons are actually supplied by a font that is downloaded from the server (@font-face) as you can see by the little boxes that show the hex code of the characters.
You can check the <b>gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page and make sure that it is set to true (if necessary double-click the line to toggle its value).
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.

I have a Time Capsule on which I back up 2 MacBooks and on my wife's machine she keeps having Airport Utility popping up all the time with a yellow button flashing on the left and a Red button on the right side with a "1" in the middle of it.

On the Mac......
Open up Macintosh HD > Applicatons > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the small window that appears
Click the Network tab at the top of the next window
Change the setting for Router Mode from the current DHCP and NAT to read Off (Bridge Mode), then click Update at the lower right of the window, and wait a full minute for the Time Capsule to restart to a green light.
Then.....very important
Power off the Time Capsule and your Arris modem/router for a few minutes
Start up the Arris first, and let it run a few minutes by itself
Start up the Time Capsule next the same way
Your network will now be correct, and your printing capabilities will improve.
If Time Machine backups do not occur now, post back and we will tackle that next.

Two navigation buttons on the same side...

Hi guys,
Just wondering whether its possible to have two buttons on the same side of the navigation bar at the top of a view with one of them being the standard 'edit' button?
Ideally what I would like is to have a 'back' button on the left, and an 'add' and 'edit' button on the right.

I've never tried that, but it doesn't look like an easy job. I think it tells us something that the nav item has a leftBarButtonItem and a rightBarButtonItem. Subclassing UINavigationItem looks like a bad idea to me. You might be able to subclass UIBarButtonItem so you could initWithImage and locate the touches under the image. But I dunno how wide it could get. It might be scaled down to 20 x 20.
It might be much easier to use a tool bar and make it behave like a nav bar. Here's some code to slide the views in and out: [http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9239601&#9239601]. Add a stack of tool bars and a stack of controller's and you're just about there. Then in a few weeks this forum will get 43 new posts asking which method puts two nav bar buttons on the right side.

Navigation button on wrong side of screen!!!!! To scroll, I have to keep moving from side to side to go back and scroll. Move the back button to the right side!!!!

I should be able to navigate back and forward using a button on the right side of the screen. This is where I scroll up and down from so doesn't it make sense to have the back and forward button there!!!

How do I restore the "close tab" button to the END of the tab bar, WITHOUT USING AN ADDON

Up until FF31, I used to have the following setting configured which moved the little 'X' button that closed tabs off of the tabs themselvs and onto the far right of the tab bar.

No, this no longer works. It has still moved the close buttons back to the tab buttons. Until I can figure out how to fix this, I will be moving back to a previous version. I can't for the life of me see why this feature was removed, other than Mozilla's seemingly arrogant insistence that it knows what people want better than they do.
I was since told by someone that I can use an addon to fix it, yet the problem is THEY DO NOT WORK. The addons that supposedly solve this all have intermittent failures where they don't load correctly, leave random dead tabs open, and in one case it even seemed to open new tabs when I tried to close one.
It's absolutely inexcusable that the dev team is so arrogant to take away a feature that has fundamentally no impact on the rest of the browser, other than, as I said before, they THINK they know what we want better than we do. It's no small wonder that FF is losing market share. The only thing keeping me on board was really this function, as I prefer this layout, and if it's gone, I see no reason to stick with FF over others.

unfortunately it is not possible to restore the close button to have only one (customizable) close button on the Tab bar without using an extension.
The extension is necessary because you need to create a new toolbar button and bind the proper code to it to make the button act as a tab close button (command: BrowserCloseTabOrWindow()).

When I hold the button on the right hand down for 10 seconds, I first very briefly get the Apple Logo, than immediately the I-Tunes sign with a plug sign. I cannot get anything else working. I did not have I-tunes on my i-pad since the file is large, but have it on my MAC . So how can I get my I-pad working again????

This solved all my problems. It took a while, about 87 minutes for the complete "restore to factory setting" and after that about 30 minutes to put all my contacts etc. back on.
It did'nt matter how long it took, I have my I-Pad back and that is great.

I lose the minimize, restore and close down buttons in the top right corner when removing the Menu Bar.

I am using Firefox 28.0 on my Windows 7 64-bit PC. I would like to remove ONLY the menu bar and keep the orange Firefox tab. But when I uncheck the Menu Bar box, I not only lose the menu bar, I lose the three buttons on the very right of the screen as well - the minimize button, the maximize/restore down button, and the red 'X' close button. The space where these buttons ought to be is black. When I recheck the Menu Bar box, those three buttons on the right of the screen reappear!
I would like to know how I am to remove the Menu Bar but keep the minimize button, the maximize/restore down button and the red 'X' close button.

I tried your suggestions of using Safe Mode and a different Windows theme (2 different ones to be exact), but neither solved the problem. Each time I tried disabling the Menu Bar, the same 3 buttons disappeared and I got nothing but black space. It doesn't even fill the space with any background I may have. It's just black.
Additionally, disabling all my personas did not help, either. :(
I've been using Firefox for years now and I've never had this issue. It's always worked flawlessly for me.

When I customize the toolbar moving all buttons to the left side of the url field, the X button disappears. It reappears when placed to the right of the url field. (FireFox 4))

This is actually less of a question and more of a bug report. When I searched for "report bug" this was the best and most likely place I could find that would actually accept input and not direct me to static links. This issue is repeatable.

Firefox 4.0 has a combined Reload and Stop and Go button that appears at the right end of the location bar.
To restore the Firefox 3 appearance you can use these steps:
* Open the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window to move the Stop and Reload button out of the location bar.
* Move the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position at the left side of the location bar.
* Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
* Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

Close tab button appears on both sides of tab and I couldn't find the option to fix it in the two addons I suspect of causing this: Tab Mix Plus & TreeStyle Tab

After I switched to Tab Mix plus I started getting the close button on both sides of tabs which causes me to accidentally close them all the time.
I also use TreeStyle Tab and I suspect an option in one of these two addons caused this... Or maybe a conflict?
I tried to solve it myself through the addon options but to no luck.
I'd like to keep both addons because they're great, help please?

This question has driven me crazy, lol, I finally know what the correct answer is. I never us the qwery keyboard since I an use to texting from a flip phone and the qwery keyboards letters are so small I just text from the front keypad. So here is what I found, if you slide out the keyboard you will notice to the left button acts as a soft key and takes you to Message if you click on messaage you can text right from there so I guess its a short cut key and the right button takes you to contacts and that takes to to Favorites and all your contacts. Sorry about the misinformation I gave you last time. I ordered the I user Guide which contains all 292 pages of info and its free for the asking. In that little minnie book they give you with the phone it tells you where to send for it.

Something like MS Windows menu bar which can be placed on each screen side. On 16:9 screen this will add more space for site and navigation still will be very easy. I wanted attach image with concept but it's not possible here :(.

You could try using Firefox's Safe Mode to reset your toolbars. Not sure whether this is a toolbar problem, but it's probably worth a try.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, check this article on how to start Firefox in
