Close, maximize and minimize buttons not themed on Windows 8.

When using a theme in Windows 8 the close etc buttons are not themed and look ugly and out of place. Any way to fix this embarassing issue?

Hello,
Unfortunately I believe you will actually need to change your whole Windows desktop theme in order to change those buttons. Perhaps this link can help you:

EDIT: The relevant part might be:
* Right click the Desktop and select Personalize.
* In the top Themes section scroll down and click Get more Themes online.

Btw, isn't it a little strange to ask thisquestion...
Actually, I thought it was meant to be sardonic...
Dialogs don't have those buttons, so the question

  • Federated Book showing strange maximize and minimize buttons

    Hi all,
I've just federated a book (.book file) in WLP 10.3.2 and when it shows up in the consumer the buttons to maximize and minimize appear.
The behave of the book is as if it were a portlet. As I can remember, it didn't happen in the 10.3.0 version.
When I put a local book in the desktop instead, this thing doesn't occur.
Could anyone explain what is happening?
    Thanks in advance,
    Leandro

    Hi

  • No close, restore and minimize buttons when Firefox 4 is maximized with Win 7 Aero

Since upgrading to FF 4.0, I have had some weird behaviour with the top taskbar, transparency, and close/restore/minimize.
When I maximize the FF window, I see the top sectino ofthe application window (with FF menu), then address bar, then bookmarks toolbar, then tabs. In the top taskbar, however, there is not close/restore/minimize section at the top right. Clicking or mousing over doesn't change anything in that area. I can restore or minimize the window using keyboard shortcuts (alt-space > r, etc.).
Is this by design? If so, it's a bit annoying to no longer have one-click access to these common window operations.
Maybe a separate issue and maybe not: When I restore the window down to a non-maximized size, the Aero transparency behind the top section as well as the address bar go away -- I get an ugly black background instead. Also, still no close/restore/minimize.
Not sure if these issues are a failure to fully comply with Aero, or a bug, or just a misguided feature..
I have tried resetting everything in FF to defaults, and, also disabled add-ons like Synch, Awesome screenshot, ReaditLater, and Xmarks which have their own buttons.
    Looking forward to your input.

    Any news on this.
I think it has something to do with the add on : Tabgroups manager.
If i disable this add on then everything works normally.
Also when this add on is enabled my tabs are always below adress bar ,no matter what.

  • NO CLOSE, MAXIMIZE OR MINIMIZE BUTTONS ON MY FIREFOX BROWSER

I DOWNLOADED THE NEWEST VERSION OF FIREFOX IT IS FINE "EXCEPT' THERE ARE

    PLEASE HELP

Could you confirm that Firefox is not in full screen view? The F11 key switches between full screen and regular views.
Have you customized your Windows XP theme? Maybe Firefox is not fully compatible with it. If you hover your mouse over the area where those buttons normally appear, does it behave as though there are invisible but working buttons there?

    Use a JFrame.

  • Maximize and Minimize buttons

Is there a way to make these buttons bigger? It takes much effort to find these with the mouse pointer. Thanks for any replies.

You can't make them bigger with anything built in to the operating system. You could try a finder replacement like Path Finder. Another possible solution would be to look at some theme software that let you change the whole look of the windows. I believe there is one called Shape Shifter. You should be able to find both of those options at Version Tracker. I am sure there are some other options but that is all I can think of off hand.
I agree they are a pretty small target but for me it has become easier to hit them with time and practice.

  • Minimize, Maximize, and Exit Buttons are Missing

I can not view the minimize, maximize, and exit buttons unless I enter full-screen viewing. I have all add-ons turned off.

You may not see those buttons clearly if they get hidden by the transparency on Windows 7.
Right click in a free space on your desktop.<br />
    Left click on Personalization.<br />
There are four options in Windows 7 at the bottom of the screen, choose "Window Color and Appearance".<br />
    Select a border color<br />
    Uncheck: "Enable transparency"<br />

  • How do I get my Close, Minimise and Maximise Buttons to Show

When I first installed Photoshop CS6 Extended on my Mac it had a bar running along the top that had the program name in it (Photoshop) with the red, orange and green, close, minimise and maximise buttons in it.
Somehow I have turned this off and the three buttons no longer show. Below is an example picture of the bar I'm wanting to turn on:
I have the application frame turned on and they still do not show. I'm sure the answers simple, however any help would be hugely appreciated.

Would this help solve the following issue:
Like most people, I work with most of the CS6 programs open at the same time.  If I tweak a graphic from Photoshop and then return to Illustrator or InDesign to see how the updated graphic will appear, my usual mode of doing so would be to hit "Command-W" to close the Photoshop window/work environment/application frame - or whatever one calls it.  Then, I'd click on the program beneath to see the update occur.  In CS5, that worked just fine.  Command-W and Photoshop was out of the way.  With CS6, I hit Command-W and the opaque application frame/workspace is still there and I can't seem to get it out of the way without using Control/Comman/M.  I figure that I'm missing something rather elementary.  The new GUI of Illustrator and Photoshop is bad enough (flat Windows mess) without this little annoyance.
    Thanks.
PS: Well, it was my "minimized" brain.  I had "Application Frame" selected in the Window menu.
PPS: the GUI is still Windows-Ugly.  Any ideas?

    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == i have installed the FF4

Here is how to go to the default theme in case you don't know how to.
    1. Press '''ALT''' to reveal the menu bar
    2. Go to '''Addons, Themes''' and enable '''Default Theme''' to reveal your Buttons.
(IF you are using Menu bar then just go to '''Tools--Addons--Themes'''

  • Disappearing menu bar and minimize button quits working

I'm working in Entourage or Firefox (with about 3 other small applications open and Classic is running) and the screen suddenly blacks out, as if a screen saver came on for about a quarter second, then the screen comes back. The Menu bar is gone. I can get the menu bar back by clicking on the background and then clicking back on the application, but the minimize button no longer works on the open applications' windows. If I open a new application, the minimize button works on that window. Sometimes I have trouble getting the menu bar back, depending on the application that was open when it "blinked". When this is happening, it occurs at about 20 to 30 minute intervals. Any ideas of what's happening? Has anyone experienced something similar?
