Close, Minimize, and Zoom Buttons

Where are the resources (Graphics) for the Close, Minimize, and Zoom buttons located?

They appear to be in the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreUI.framework/Versions/A/Resources/AquaUI. bundle/Contents/Resources/ folder, which can be navigated to with the Finder's Go to Folder command in the Go menu. They may also be in the LeopardUI.bundle folder, with the rest of the path identical.

Greyed out "close", "minimize", and "zoom" controls with Yosemite

After updating to Yosemite, the "close", "minimize" and "zoom" controls for windows are not in color. They are shown in black and white, only. I am using a 13-inch mid 2010 Macbook Pro with 4 GB memory. Any ideas on what I need to do to get the colors back? I expect that there might be other areas in OS X where I have the same problem. I will appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks.

Thanks for the question. There are two different things that could be happening here. First off, when a window is out of focus (another window or application is in use) the buttons will appear greyed out/inactive. Switching back to the window will return the color.
Second, if your “Appearance” setting in System Preferences > General is set to “Graphite” instead of “Blue” - this will occur.

Missing close, minimize, and maximize buttons

I'm using OS X 10.7.4 Lion-- and have been unable to add back the minimize and other buttons when on webpages via Safari or in Mail.
I've tried rebooting, repair disk permission, but nothing seems to bring it back.
I seem to have a totally white screen, whereas I used to be able to see the background and have multiple windows. I also cannot keep the dock
visable- need to scroll below it to bring it back.
And the toolbar stays hidden until I scroll upwards.
Have googled for solutions, but nothing seems to come out of this that helps. I can only think that my problems are related, since none of
these situations used to occur.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I think you've accidently zoomed the screen. Hold the Control key down and scroll with your mouse or trackpad.
One direction zooms the other unzooms

My firefoz opens but opens a transparent window that only has the close,minimize and maximize buttons.

So my firefox has been running well but when i updated my computer, it stopped working. when i double click the icon, it opens a blank transparent window with only the maximize, minimize and close buttons. you cannot even tell its firefox. it does not display any error messages and installing again does not work.
what is this and how do i fix it?

hello nachoz88, [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/940393#answer-377118 from another user] we found out that this might be related to malware active on your pc. please close all firefox windows and try [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|running firefox in safemode]] (by pressing the shift key while you're starting it). in firefox safemode go to firefox > addons > extensions and remove the entry named "Codec v1.0" or any other addons that look suspicious & you have not installed intentionally. afterwards see if you can run firefox normally again...
please also do an in-depth scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & keep firefox and your plugins up-to-date in order to stay safe on the web.

My Close, Minimize, and Maximize buttons disappear at random, have to restart firefox to get them back. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

Don't really think I can clarify any better, my Minimize, Maximize, and Close buttons disappear at random leaving a little blank spot. Can't figure out why.

I like full screen but as of last night I still have the tabs up top even in full screen..plus its like theres two browsers , there are 2 close, minimize and maxi buttons ...what the heck?

Where is the minimize and maximize buttons?

I'm using Acrobat version 8 and the standard windows XP minimize and maximize buttons are gone from the top right hand corner of the window which means I have to resize the window manually. There IS the "x" button to close the window if I wanted to but that's it. This happened once before in version 7 but then the buttons came back somehow. I'm on Windows XP and all of my other programs work fine. Does anyone have any ideas?

I fixed my own problem...finally. I'm using a third party add in called PDFlyer. In the options window for that program is a checkbox for "hide minimize/maximize box". That was the trick.

How do I get my Close, Minimise and Maximise Buttons to Show

When I first installed Photoshop CS6 Extended on my Mac it had a bar running along the top that had the program name in it (Photoshop) with the red, orange and green, close, minimise and maximise buttons in it.
Somehow I have turned this off and the three buttons no longer show. Below is an example picture of the bar I'm wanting to turn on:

Like most people, I work with most of the CS6 programs open at the same time. If I tweak a graphic from Photoshop and then return to Illustrator or InDesign to see how the updated graphic will appear, my usual mode of doing so would be to hit "Command-W" to close the Photoshop window/work environment/application frame - or whatever one calls it. Then, I'd click on the program beneath to see the update occur. In CS5, that worked just fine. Command-W and Photoshop was out of the way. With CS6, I hit Command-W and the opaque application frame/workspace is still there and I can't seem to get it out of the way without using Control/Comman/M. I figure that I'm missing something rather elementary. The new GUI of Illustrator and Photoshop is bad enough (flat Windows mess) without this little annoyance.

PS: Well, it was my "minimized" brain. I had "Application Frame" selected in the Window menu.
PPS: the GUI is still Windows-Ugly. Any ideas?

Java APPLET minimize and maximize button

im using java 1.3 and ie4.0 or ie5.5, i would like to know if there is any way i could remove or at least disable the minimize and maximize button for the APPPLET window for the toolbar..i tried using setResizable(false) but it doesnt work..well if i tried it in the appletviewer , it actually worlks for the maximize button(it disables the maximize button), but if i try it in the browser, it doesnt work at all... please help

At least on Linux, JDialog's don't have a resize functionality. So you could do the thing you want to do with a JDialog (or maybe plain java.awt.Dialog), and everything will be fine!

How to hide both the MINIMIZE and MAXIMIZE buttons ?

Is there anyway that I could use to remove the MINIMIZE and MAXIMIZE buttons up the top right coner of a window ?

You can disable them (removed on some early windows versions), if you make your window non-resizable.
Otherwise you would have to override the Window or JWindow class to make your own frame-like window.

Check the very first post on this forum: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=775514. You didn't mention whether your controller has disappeared also, but it seems like the second or fourth command on that page should help.

Missing Minimize and Maximize buttons

Since I upgraded to 1.1 I have lost the Min and Max buttons that are usually at the top right hand side of the toolbar. Anyone else seen this problem? I am running Win XP.

Oh thank you so much!! I have spent days looking for this and could not figure out why the code did not work. My professor has been out sick so he has not responded to emails since the end of last week. Now one last thing is that when I click test movie my polygon object is in stop mode meaning it is not moving. I have to click play for it to move. Is there anything I can add to my code so that when I hit test movie and the test window pops up the polygon is automatically playing without me having to hit the play button first?
