Closed caption for youtube videos?

How do you watch a youtube video with cc by airplay?

When you have the YouTube app open, tap the magnifying glass in the upper right corner. Then enter closed caption in the search field. Don't forget the three dots.

  • How do you export a working closed caption for Premiere Pro CC 2014 in .mpg format?

We do weekly 1/2 hour programs that require closed captioning for air. I need to know how to export a self contained .mpg format without using MacCaption. If not possible, is there another, less expensive, 3rd party program that I can use? Or better yet, is Adobe going to create one for us?

Look for the wrench icon in the monitors, above the playback area, to the right. Tooltip for it is "Settings..." -- the menu item is in the flag menu there: Closed Captioning Display...

  • How to extract closed captions from flash video player

I would like to extract the closed captions from this video:
    http://www.whitehouse.gov/photos-and-video/video/president-obama-explains-why-health-insur ance-reform-crucial-small-business
(Yes, it's legal, this video is in the public domain)
Is there any way this can be done?

Mystery solved!  As I was writing a long description of everything I've tried I came to a realization:
    1) Neither the CC nor subtitle buttons did anything on a blu-ray player, TV, or computer.
    2) None of the programs I tried were seeing a subtitle or CC track
    3) Therefore the subtitles must be hardcoded into the video
    4) But mpeg streamclip and handbrake both showed only one video track.
    5) Therefore the single video track must contain both versions of the video.
I went back to the mpeg2 I had demuxed with mpeg streamclip and sure enough, it was twice as long as it should be.  I skimmed through it (which I hadn't done yet since I was so caught up with the subtitles) and saw the clean version and then right after, the subtitled version.  The original DVD authors must have made a script so that the buttons would only play whichever half of the video track you chose.
If I had only double-checked the mpeg2 after demuxing it I wouldn't have wasted so many hours of my life!

  • Why does it take. So much longer for YouTube videos to load on my iPad 1st gen. then on my iPod touch?

Why does it take so much longer for YouTube videos to load on my 1st gen. iPad then on my iPod touch or my laptop?

This is not the place to make a point. This is a user to user support forum. I do not need instructions about the use and care or alleged failure of cables. At no time did I ever say or imply that you were an idiot, that is your statement and words, not mine. Take the time to Google and you will find instances where there have been injuries and death dealing with 3rd party cables and chargers. The abilities that Apple has for manufacturing and what business decisions they make in creating their products is nothing more than speculation, and that is not allowed under the terms of the forum that you agreed on when you joined here. If you want to rant at Apple, then use the feedback link, www.apple.com/feedback. Other users cannot do anything for you.

  • Closed captioning for video no longer works for iPhone 4 since iOS 5.0 update. Is there a fix for this?

Closed captioning while video-playing is one of the coolest features of iOS devices. But for my iPhone (and an iPad user elsewhere from the Net), ever since I updated to iOS 5, the closed captioning icon no longer appear amongst the list of icons when you play a video WITH a closed caption capability.
I have played videos with closed captions before prior to iOS updates and been having no problems till I tried with iOS 5.
I tried turning the setting on/off in the Videos Settings, tried deleting and re-adding the video to the phone and also rebooted the phone.
Hoped someone could find a fix for this. The community can try it on iOS 5 and see if it is also an issue for them since I haven't seen but rarely people having this issue i'm having.

My son has a similar problem since updating to the latest software on his iphone 4. He can make calls but the other person can't hear him. Facetime and Skype work fine - so it must be the lower microphone that is the problem. He's had it checked at the Apple store in Chiang Mai but they won't fix it - he has to get it back to the UK for service. It's 2 months over the warranty period but having checked around it seems this problem is widespread and Apple need to sort it fast!
I've updated mine and it's fine - but I'm gonna take out applecare before the warranty runs out as I'm not risking having a £495 phone that I can't use as a phone.
I was thinking of buying one for my wife this Xmas but no way whilst they are having so many problems.
COME ON APPLE - GET THIS FIXED WITH A NEW RELEASE ASAP!

  • Closed captioning for rtmp streaming video

hi, is it possible to do closed captioning in  adobe captivate 5.5 if the video is set to rtmp? any reply would be helpful. thanks!

What is the subject matter of these FLVs?
If it's Captivate screen captures, then you could have added the CC text to each slide if you had left them as FMV slides.
However, if the video content is of other things, e.g. people talking or some type of action captured with a video camera, then I believe your best solution would be to add the Closed Captioning in whatever tool you used to edit and publish the video.
As I mentioned before, Captivate doesn't really provide a mechanism for adding CC text to on screen objects that contain audio in any form.  So for example, you cannot add CC text to an SWF that you've inserted as an animation, even though you can record and add audio to that SWF in Captivate.  Videos are in a similar position, except that they usually don't have their audio added in Captivate.  They mostly come with their audio track built in.  This means the only real way to guarantee good synchronisation of the CC text is to have it embedded in the video as well.

How do I enable closed captioning on a Motorola Droid Bionic?

The application you are using for watch the video will have to write that functionality into their application and the videos itself needs to support closed captioning.

  • Closed captioning for iTunes

Does anyone know what's the best way to attached a closed captioning file to a Quicktime mp4 video for iTunes? What format of closed captioning did you use?

This is something I can't help you with, and is a bit outside the usual subject matter of this forum. A quick look in the Search result suggests that you may get answers in the Final Cut Studio forum.

  • Apple TV 2 - Can it display closed captions for the hearing impaired?

I have not seen a direct answer to this question anywhere, even on the web. If I buy a movie/TV show DVD, I get closed captions. If I rent or buy from iTunes or some other source, does this mean there are no closed captions to display, or does it mean that Apple TV 2 cannot display the closed captions? It is especially helpful with British shows. We use closed captions all the time for everything else. If it cannot be displayed, Apple TV 2 is largely useless for us. Note: many Boomers (we with the money to spend, not the 15 year olds!) have damaged hearing- they should be included in marketing.

The easiest way to find videos with closed captioning is to select Column Browser->Show Column Browser from the View menu in iTunes. Select a category and then look for titles displaying the CC icon. You can then rent them in iTunes or find them in the Menu in the ATV and rent them there.

  • Is it possible to embed closed captions in mp4 videos?

    Hi,
Is there a way to do that in Premiere Pro?
If not, then how would such thing be done?
    Thanks,
    Rotem

Right now we embed closed caption data into MXF and MOV files. For additional file embedding options, you can always do some looking around and see about other shipping products like MacCaption / Caption Maker -- but this does not always fit someone's budget. There may be some shareware out there too, that embeds to other file formats. Looking around is never a bad thing. Good luck!

  • Closed Captioning for Purchased TV Shows

  • Closed Captioning for FCP 7

What is the best way to go about Closed Captioning with FCP 7.0.3?
Is there a plug-in or do I need 3rd party assistance?
    tia for any info.

We've been using Annotation Edit for creating captions and subtitles for FCP 7. For captions, we create an SCC file, which we then play out to either DVCAM (via FireWire) or XDCAM HD (via HDSDI/Kona LHe) using the Edit to Tape function.
It's a bit more affordable than CPC.
The developer for Annotation Edit is working on a new application that will include some extra features for captioning. No word on a release date yet.
