[Closed]Downgradeing package isn't availible in out-off sync mirror

OK I admit this is a bit of a stupid question, but still...
I've done
pacman -Scc
not knowing that I might need it again. But I do.
I have reason to believe that Qt4.5 is a root of all recent problems I had. (BTW I use KDEmod4.2.1)
To shortly list my problems:
-No KHotKeys and no possibility to add a hotkey in system settings-> input actions.
-having problems with locale, can't sett it on si_SL thus sometimes having a "weird fonts", especially with special characters as č š ž. But not always I can type this normally, but
sometimes my y and z get switched and in HTML my č š ž aren't displayed properly, and I know for the fact that it should work as last time I edited that html file I was able to write č, š ž and get it
appear properly. Sorry it's because Kate is set to westrn instead of UTF-8 by default so it has nothing to do with Qt.
-No system notification if I press capslock even if I sett it to notify me. Not sure if it's a Qt related problem.
(It's either that I somehow install a Qt4.4 or to try a SVN or the newest KDE which is coded with Qt4.5 in mind;
I just don't know how stable is the testing / unstable or even SVN KDE. I do need Arch for my day-to-day work)
I did consult the Arch Wiki and tried almost every out off sync mirror and the Package search but I couldn't found Qt4.4 version.
Any help is welcome.
thanks in advance.

Damn! That didn't solved any of my problems.
I'm beginning to think that my problems with Arch are more deep and go back to installation.
I tried just about everything and I still don't have a "normally" working OS.
Sorry that I made you upload the Qt4.4 as it turns out that my problems are probably in me and not in the Qt, KDE or Arch

  • Qt files audio out off sync in FCE 4

Export from iM6HD-Full Quality and out of sync.
Imported a high quality H.264 clip and audio in sync but needs to be rendered(FCE said 6 hrs for a 20 min clip. and not what I want to do anyway.
Tried to open iM^HD project package and used "save as" in QT. Audio in sync but way to much to render. Also tried to export the audio as a seprate AIFF and no sync.
    Thank you kindly

    The MiniDisc comments are interesting.
I was first made aware of the MiniDisc's potential when a few years ago a club member demonstrated how over a ten minute test it only drifted by 1 frame.
Then a couple of years ago another chap demonstrated his Digital Voice Recorder which was perfect.
Apart from being a fraction of the cost of a radio mike they have a number of advantages as there is no chance of reception problems and you also have the original audio from the camera as (poor quality) backup should the radio mike fail.
Anyway my slight audio drift is no real problem apart from wasting those five seconds altering the speed in FCE !

  • Audio out off sync

hey all I have been working on the Doc now for over a year the footage was all fine in till yesterday when the audio for everything is 3frames to slow, we shoot it on the dvx100b, I have tried making new projects new timelines and I have deleted the P list for FCS several times and nothing any help please.

Do you mean that the audio is constantly 3 frames late?
If so, are you sure you're monitoring the audio in the same "path" as the video? For example, if you're looking at the picture on an external VIDEO monitor routed via firewire thru a camera or deck, make sure the audio is also being monitored via firewire. If you're monitoring the video on the computer screen, make sure your audio is being monitored thru the Mac.

    Firefox user
I'm using windows xp service pack 3. Just got the new update:
the word Import isn't highlighted (grayed out) so I'm unable to import

This can happen if you run Firefox in [[Private Browsing]] mode.
In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and some features like visited links and others are disabled and not working.
You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing"
    See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Issues_related_to_Private_Browsing
You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
To see all History settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting '''Firefox will: Use custom settings for history'''
Uncheck: [[ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"

  • HT1498 Closed caption out of sync.

I just rented Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close this weekend but the closed caption was totally out of sync.
Is there a way to refund my money and try to rent it again?
    tnx in advance.

It seems that the sync issue may be related to some playback setting or something. The video plays late (audio comes early). When I go and play the actual QuickTime file (using the QT Player) by clicking on the file in the Capture Scratch folder, it plays in perfect sync. So the actual QT file appears to be captured correctly.
Is there a setting in FCP5 that I should adjust? I've tried RT Safe, I've tried RT Unlimited. No joy. My Playback Output is default Apple FireWire NTSC. The capture quality was Full. I've tried Audio Playback Quality Low or High. Nothing brings my clips into sync.
But... when I open the 'Log and Cature' application, and THEN try to play my clips from the bin... all plays perfectly. It's an enigma. What gives?
I'm pushing a deadline and could use some help. I would really appreciate some insights.
    Thanks,
    Jim
Here's a little more system info (I'm posting from my PB):
    I'm using FCP 5.0.4 on a Dual 2.7 G5 with 4GB of SDRAM. I'm running on Tiger OS X 10.4.6
I've captured from a Sony DSR 11 in NTSC mode. All the footage was shot on DVCam tapes using an NTSC Sony VX1000.

  • Backup-closing backup package

For some reason, backup now hangs at the "closing backup package" point.  Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Oh, oh, I know!
    ask Me!
With a Mac OS X Server, You can run Time Machine on the Server. It backs up every locally-attached drive by default. That means the Users folder, representing all Server-resident User files, on whatever drive, gets backed up, and the permissions are maintained perfectly. It also seems to work very hard to backup up the LDAP database automatically, if you are using that feature.
On older versions, be sure to disable Spotlight Indexing on the Backup Drive itself. Time Machine already uses Spotlight to do a special index, and having it be busy computing the "regular" spotlight index confuses it.
You need to check from Time-to-time that the latest backup was within the last hour, to be sure Time Machine did not get "stuck". Other than that, it just works.
To restore, log on to the server as the Admin, navigate to the folder you want to restore, and Invoke Time Machine (except for iPhoto and Mail, which use special procedures to restore their databases).

  • Audio out of sync in Quicktime on export from Premiere

Currently using Premiere Pro CS3 3.2 and Quicktime 7.5.5
When I export to a quicktime .mov, my audio is a few frames out of sync. I've tried downgrading to older versions of quicktime with no success. Everything is completely in sync inside Premiere. If I import my rendered out-of-sync .mov back into Premiere, it magically syncs up fine again. It's the weirdest thing.
I don't suffer this issue when exporting to Real Media or .wma.
My machine is an Intel Core 2 Duo 6700 2.66, 2 GB Ram. Running XP Pro 2002 Service Pack 3. Premiere Pro CS3 3.2, Quicktime 7.5.5.
I'm using .mxf files shot on the HVX-200. My source video is 1280 x 720. I'm exporting using the h.264 codec. I'm fairly certain that it isn't the footage. I tried syncing up some color mattes to music in a new short test project and I'm still 4 frames off.
I thought the problem might be the use of mp3's but I replaced them with .wav and .aiff files and still the same problem. When I export to quicktime, the audio is 4 frames ahead of the video. In order to make it sync up, I have to move the audio four frames to the right. This is a terrible solution

Thanks for responding. We did record at 24pn.
However as a test, I started a new project, loaded a piece of music (.wav), and created some plain color mattes in Premiere. Then I synced up the colors to change to the beat of the music. An export results in the same problem, so best that I can tell the issue is independent of the camera.

  • EXIF information out of sync

I have several TIFF files (film scans) stored in Aperture. The EXIF metadata that Aperture displays is out of sync. For example if I open an image in Photoshop and change the colorspace from Gray to RGB Apertuer still displays Gray in the 'Color Model' field.
Other EXIF related fields share this problem: bit depth, file size, profile, etc. Does anyone know how to get Aperture to update this information when an image gets saved?

I have been observing some 'inconsistencies' in Aperture's behavior with regard to editing files externally--in my case that means Photoshop CS3.
It has only started to come to my attention in the past week that Aperture isn't always behaving the way I might expect. Sometimes this is caused by not fully understanding the program's behavior. Some of the things that I have been puzzling over:
    1. With some large TIFF files imported to Aperture the moved to external referenced locations the EXIF information is totally out of whack. Images that Photoshop opens directly as 1-bit show in Aperture as bit.
    2. Edited images don't have the metadata updated to reflect image changes. If I open a file in an external editor it becomes a new master. The EXIF data that Aperture shows should tell me about the current state of that master file. If I open a file and crop it in Photoshop I expect Aperture to show the new cropped dimensions.
    3. Aperture does seem to update the image thumbnails each time I save the image in Photoshop.
    4. Sometimes I get files opening in their native color spaces. Aperture wants to convert everything to Adobe RGB but there seem to be some cases where this doesn't happen.
    5. Finally and most troublesome I have had a couple of cases recently where I tried to reopen a file that had been externally edited only to find that none of the changes I had carefully saved were recorded in the file. Photoshop has crashed a few times when trying to save a file opened from Aperture. After a restart the file in question seems to be MIA inside Aperture.
Hmm......I will have to start watching much more closely what is happening when I use the edit in external editor feature.

  • YouTube audio/video out of sync, Google Spreadsheets charts won't load

I use Google Chrome. I just got a new computer. Whenever I watch a YouTube video, I notice that the video is a fraction of a second ahead of the audio. This isn't just me thinking it might be; it is out of sync. That's one problem, and I believe Flash is related.
My other problem lies in Google Docs. I honestly don't know if this is actually related to Flash, but a friend told me it was (?). Most of the time when I close a Google Doc after it says "All changes saved," it still prompts me not to close it lest I lose unsaved changes, as though it were still in the process of saving. That's annoying and a hindrance, but at least it doesn't affect any functionality.
However, in Spreadsheet, I have some spreadsheets that have charts on their own sheets. I click them, and they don't load, unlike with my previous computer. Sometimes, I click the spreadsheets, and it doesn't even open the sheet, let alone show me the actual chart.
Any potentially relevant knowledge is appreciated. Thanks!

Hard to believe there are no takers.
Hardly surprising. You didn't really ask a question to which readers could respond nor do you seem to be looking for a workaround for your unexplained and rather circuitous workflow. I did attempt to duplicate the download/conversion process using my own system, software, and workflows but since you did not include any particular YouTube source file (i.e., URL) reference and my results were different than yours, I can't even be sure I started with the same content as you. Basically, such sync problems normally devolve from a problem in the source file or in the processes used to download and/or convert the content.
A YouTube search for the file name referenced in your initial comments directed me to this YouTube page which I used as a source file: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_INlMhECFA
However, when I downloaded the 426x240 version of the YouTube source file, it turned out to be a standard H.263/MP3 FLV file with stats quite different than those of your H.264/AAC MP4 download posted above and which did not display any AV sync issues. (Source File)
I then used QT 7 Pro (with Perian codec package installed) to directly convert the H.263/MP3 FLV compressed data to an H.264/AAC MP4 file having the same target settings as the original FLV file. (Converted File)
In short, based on the information provided, I cannot duplicate your problems. In addition, the downloaded 720p30 resolution H.264/AAC MP4 version of the same content also played correctly in the QT 7 player without conversion or additional third-party codecs. At this point (i.e., without further information to the contrary), I suspect your issues may be self inflicted as a result of your workflow and may explain why others have failed to make comments here.

  • New curent kernel and currenc gcc out of sync

    I ran
    pacman -Syu
this morning. I rebooted in console mode and recompiled ndiswrapper and the ATi drivers, then rebooted again. Now both ndiswrapper and fglrx are invalid, and I have no networking or GUI. The current kernel seems to have been built with gcc 4.1 but my current gcc is gcc 4.0. Seems like somebody goofed.
I don't mind packages being close to the cutting edge, but this isn't a "too new" problem. It seems more like a "oops I mixed up current with testing and released it to everyone" problem. Am I wrong?

Yep, i had to rollback because NFORCE wouldnt work either.
I started trying every mirror, because i thought they were out of sync or something, I think you should post some note on the front page about it, saying that there is no new GCC yet.
    Regards!
(By the way, everything else worked nice and smooth, except for nv xorg drivers, that for some reason would get my monitor refresh rates out of ratio or something...).

  • Audio out of sync with video in timeline SOLVED

The audio and video are in sync when playing .MP4 video (but may apply to other video files) in the Premiere Pro viewer and Windows Media Player and VLC however, as soon as you drag the clip into the timeline it goes out of sync. Since it took so much time for me to figure out how to get around this problem I wanted to share this, ESPECIALLY For all the people who are semi Adobe Premiere noobs (with no disrespect, I fall into this category) at this and google isn't helping to figure out why this is happening I'll give you the easy fix.  For all the people in this forum who are going to ask the detailed information, codecs, etc.  I'll give that as well.
    FOR THE NOOBS:
All the information I've read online all seems to point that the timeline sometimes doesn't like certain audio contained in the video. It conforms incorrectly, etc. Personally, it doesn't make any sense to me. Forget all that.. you just want to get on with your project.. to heck with the details, you're tired of googling.  Here's the solution I found.  Extracting the audio from the problematic video file outside of Adobe Premiere.  I use avconv, because it's free, open source, and you won't lose audio quality.  Then linking that audio with the video in Adobe Premiere.
First if you are using a windows 32 bit computer download avconv here: http://win32.libav.org/win32/
If you are using a windows 64 bit computer download avconv here: http://win32.libav.org/win64/
go to the bottom of the page and click on the newest date version.  DISCLAIMER: This is open source software. It's free.  I didn't make it so I'm not trying to sell you anything.
It's a zip file so you will need to use winzip or 7zip to uncompress it.  You can't just click on the installer. You can uncompress and save the program wherever you want on your computer.  Say you didn't pay attention and you automatically saved it in the default spot in your downloads folder.  The place you'd find the program might look like this if you're on a 64 bit computer:
C:\Users\youruseraccountname\Downloads\libav-9.7-win64  If you're on a 32 bit computer it will probably look like this C:\Users\youruseraccountname\Downloads\libav-9.7-win32
Just make sure you know where it is located and copy it down in notepad.  If you can't find it, do a search on your C: drive for avconv  .For this forum thread we will assume you have saved avconv in the downloads folder and you're on a 64 bit computer.
Click on the Windows key on your keyboard. Type in Run and then press enter. Type in CMD and press enter.  This will open up windows command line. Don't worry, it's not as scary as you think.
Now hold down the Windows key and press E. This will open up a windows explorer window for you to find the video file you are having issues with in Adobe Premiere.  Once you have found the file, copy the location of the file.  So..  if your file was here:  c:\Users\youruseraccount\videos\yourvideo.mp4 you would see that at the top of the windows explorer in what's called the address bar.  Copy that.  Paste it into your notepad.
Now switch back to the windows command line window.  Now I'm going to have you type a command into the windows command line but before you do I want you to understand how to type it in.
#1. Do you know the exact path (location on your computer) where you installed avconv?
#2. Did you copy the exact path (location on your computer) where you have your video file?
If so..  type in the command below but change it with the information you have above
    C:\Users\youruseraccountname\Downloads\libav-9.7-win64\usr\bin\avconv.exe -i "c:\Users\youruseraccount\videos\yourvideo.mp4" -vn -qscale 1 "c:\Users\youruseraccount\videos\yourvideo.wav"
So let's break it down so you understand and help troubleshoot any issues you may have.
C:\Users\youruseraccountname\Downloads\libav-9.7-win64  this is the example location we said we installed avconv.  The actual avconv.exe program is located inside that folder so the full path would be this: C:\Users\youruseraccountname\Downloads\libav-9.7-win64\usr\bin\avconv.exe
-i just tells avconv what the input file is.
"c:\Users\youruseraccount\videos\yourvideo.mp4" is the path (location on your computer) where your video file is.
-vn just tells avconv you only want to extract audio from the video
-qscale 1 just tells avconv you want the best quality
"c:\Users\youruseraccount\videos\yourvideo.wav" just tells avconv the path (location on your computer) and the name you want to give the audio file you're taking from the video.  This will save the audio wav file to the path (location on your computer) where the problematic video file is saved.
Once you have the audio wav file import it into Adobe Premiere.  In the timeline, unlink the audio from the mp4 (or whatever video file you have).  Highlight the now unlinked mp4 audio and delete the audio.  Then bring your audio wav file you created using avconv and bring it onto the timeline at the start of the video. Now link it.  Hopefully that did the trick.
If you have any questions regarding the command line or installing avconv please feel free to comment and ask.  I'm pretty good at windows command line and can probably help identify what the issue is.
FOR THE INFORMED PREMIERE PRO USERS:
Here are the details of the problematic video file that I had this issue with.  This is from avconv:

I don't know the type make/model video camera that was used or if it was converted before being given to me. This is just what i had to work with and the solution I found to fix it.

if you are using a windows 32 bit computer
Then you won't be using anything above Premiere Pro CS4, and this thread would be in the wrong section.
By the way, the process is significantly easier using something like Xvid4PSP, which can strip out the audio using a fairly easy to understand GUI, as wel as convert those oddball videos into something PP can handle.

  • Audio Tracks Out of Sync?!

I opened up one of my projects today and started playback and everything was all over the place, out of sync.
the project consists of acoustic guitar, electric guitar and two vocal audio tracks plus a b4 organ track and an ultrabeat drum track.
i shuffled things around to get them back to normal, moving my audio regions around a bit until it sounded right. i ended up messing pretty much everything up so i used the command to move all audio regions to original location.
the drums were still out of sync and off tempo, even. i wondered if i had messed with the tempo and not remembered so i started playing with it trying to get it to match.
i quickly discovered that if i adjust the tempo at all, my audio tracks/ regions fall out of sync again. this makes no sense to me whatsoever, and i'm kind of worried i may have a corrupt project or something.
does anyone know what this may be and how to fix it????? thanks.

X-man is correct. This behavior isn't unique to Logic either.
Let's say your sequence is at 60 BPM. That's 1 beat every second. You record 4 tracks, each with an individual hit of a drum and nothing else:
Track 1: Kick on beat 1 - heard at zero seconds
Track 2: Snare on beat 2 - heard at 1 second
Track 3: Kick on beat 3 - heard at 2 seconds
Track 4: Snare on beat 4 - heard at 3 seconds
Now you change the tempo to 120 BPM. That's 1 beat every 1/2 second. Because you've got these individual sounds recorded on separate tracks, their playback will occur more quickly. In fact, twice as fast:
Track 1: Kick on beat 1 - heard at zero seconds
Track 2: Snare on beat 2 - heard at 1/2 second
Track 3: Kick on beat 3 - heard at 1 second
    Track 4: Snare on beat 4 - heard at 1 1/2 seconds
This is not time compression. Changing the tempo from 60 to 120 simply causes the individual recordings to play back sooner relative to bar 1/beat1. In this case, half as much time elapses between the playback of each sound.
IT'S A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY if this kick/snare pattern is contained in a single audio recording, because the spacing of the kicks and snares is frozen in time within the recording.
Let's say you record kick/snare/kick/snare as a single piece of audio at 60 BPM...
    a) if the recording is made at bar 1/beat 1, no matter what the tempo of the sequence is changed to at a later time, this recording will be always be 'anchored' at bar 1 beat 1.
    b) if the recording was made at bar 4/beat 1 (that's 4 seconds in from bar 1, beat 1) and then you change the tempo to 120 BPM, the timing of the drum sounds in the recording won't move relative to one another, but what will move is WHEN IN TIME that recording is triggered to play back. In this case, doubling the tempo is going to make that region trigger still play back on bar 4, but you get to bar 4 twice as fast at 120 BPM than you do at 60 BPM!! So the region will play back after 2 seconds have elapsed (from bar 1).
    HOW TO GET AROUND THIS:
There's a key command called "Lock Regions to SMPTE Postion" (do a search for "SMPTE" or "Lock" in the key commands window). When you select regions and apply this command they'll be locked at the time of their original recording. This way you could record tracks that don't all start together, like this:
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
                YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
          ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
...then change the tempo at a later time but NOT have the tempo change affect the position of the regions relative to one another.
