Closed Dynamic tab constructor and setters are firing

Hi,
I am using UIShell Tab concept. Here Am opening the two tabs. if am pressing any button in one tab it is firing the second tab setter and getters.
How can restrict the firing of second tab setter and getters.
please help me how to solve this issue.

IE7 doesn't give me the add new page option and I get 404 error when trying to access the "How to contribute" section.
I'll load up Firefox later (this browser usually works when IE7 doesn't always work properly).
I'll copy the stuff to the wiki when I've got the browser sorted out.

[DATA LOSS] I closed the Tab Groups and all my tabs dissapeared. How can I recover the tabs in Firefox 26? Would you please just delete this feature?

A slip of the mouse in trying to return to the left-most tab caused the tab groups feature to take over the window. I completely failed to comprehend what I was looking at and closed the thing by clicking the x because I damn sure didn't want what I was looking at. Undo close group? Of course not, I didn't want a group in the first place. Hey! My tabs are completely gone now! So in just a few steps all of which seemed innocent, I have lost all but ten of the tabs that were open, and those were only the most recent ten (and actually older tabs would have been more valueable than newer so insult on top of injury).
I don't think increasing the number of undoable tab closures is the answer. I think getting rid of the tab groups feature all together is the best way to go. I seem to have lost all the tabs I had open, irretrievably, and some of them had been open for WEEKS so they can't be reopened from history.
The tab groups feature is a data loss bug. Please remove it from the UX completely. If you have to figure out a way to grandfather people who actually have a tab group, fine but don't further vex me with it, please.
The reason this catastrophe has occurred is that your feature, was so discoverable that I activated it by mistake, and the UI after that had to be learned on the spot, yet was too complicated to learn. You really should withdraw it until you can figure out how to keep the UI for it from causing data loss such as I have experienced this morning.
Also, there may be other questions on this feature which are from a certain point of view the same as this one. It's hard for me to tell for sure. None of them had a true resolution so that's why I posted this one, also I'm seeking a specific fix, removal of the offending feature.
Why remove the feature? Because if I allow in my discussion the possibility of retaining it, it will stick around in its present and dangerous form until your team is done bikeshedding the new form it should take. Instead I want you to delete the feature and then require its champion to convince you that a new incarnation won't cause data loss before you allow it back in.
Fellow users, if you know of a way to recover all 50 lost tabs from an "undo close tab group incident", I would be grateful for that advice, but I would still believe the feature should be deleted. Some of the tabs have been retained for months so digging them out of the history is not practical.

I am not 100% certain but I am fairly sure development of this tab feature has ceased and it is likely to be deprecated. I am even less sure what the replacement will be.

I have not tried this and am not even using Windows at present but the tabs groups are stored as entries in the sessionstore.js files. Firefox has such a file plus sometimes numbered copies and a backup copy. Firefox will have re-writen these files but I suppose there is a posibility the Windows OS may have kept copies.

** Firefox Button -> Help -> Troubleshooting [open profile] (or some thing similar) is one method of locating the profile.
Find and backup any current sessionstore.js file. Consider also bookmark or otherwise recording anything you have open. Now find any previous versions and try putting them in Firefox's profile before restarting it.

SCCM Client Configuration Tab missing and actions are also missing

Hello All,
Stuck from few days in installation of Client in Secondary Site. Actions are missing in tab and Configuration Tab is also missing.
1. Boundaries and Boundaries Group are properly configured
1a. Client Push installation is performed through Primary Site
2. Client Push Account has Administrative Rights (Verified from CCM Log file)
3. Installation performed successfully (Verified from Log file)
4. Firewall settings are configured proper.
5. WMI repository is consistent.
6. Machine restart several times but no result

Most of the icons/pictures on my tabs, searchbar, and booksmarks are invisible. How do I fix this?

At the same time as most of those picture icons disappeared, the links in the upper right and upper left (running windows 8.1) have stopped working, as well as the start button. I am not sure if they are related.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

Wrong dynamic tab closing

If I have multiple dynamic tabs open, and one of those tabs has unsaved changes on it, if I try to close the tab with unsaved changes while another tab is active I get the confirmation popup about my unsaved changes, but when I click 'Yes' my current active tab closes, not the tab I was trying to close.
Example: I have 4 tabs open, call them tabA, tabB, tabC, tabD, and I change something on tabC, but don't save. Then I move to tabD. while on tabD I click the close button on tabC. I get the popup message, click 'Yes', and tabD closes, not tabC.

Browsing history is set to "delete on exit" from Firefox however cookies and history are still listed in Internet Explorer - which I never use. Why??

Firefox is set to delete browsing history on exit. Appears to be working fine. However, if I open Internet Explorer - after closing Firefox - my cookies and history are listed in Internet Explorer. I have to go to Tools >Options> Internet History and delete everything manually. (Internet Explorer is also set to delete history on exit.
Why are my cookies and history being transferred from Firefox to Internet Explorer?

ADF Pgaes with Dynamic Tab Shell not rendering in iPAD 1+

Hi,
We have used Oracle Dynamic Tab Shell templates to build our Dashboard page with multiple dynamic tabs.
One year back when we initially created the main Dashboard with Dynamic Tab Shell and used UIShell API's to open new dynamic tab on click of command links in left hand side navigator. We started with Jdev 11.1.1.3 and we upgrade till Jdev 11.1.1.5.
Now recent requirement is, we need to test our applications in Safari browser within iPAD(2.0). While testing we observed below issues.
1) The JSPX page with Dynamic Tab Shell is keep showing "Loading..." We had to refresh the Safari browser twice to render the page.
2) Any af:commandLink as part of the JSPX which has dynamic tab shell template, not working. We have bunch of links on left navigator and on click of each link will open a new dynamic tab(we use UIShell API) . Nothing happens on click of those af:commandLinks.
3) We have "Home" and "Logout" links on top right corner. Nothing happening on click of those links too.
All these like af:commandLinks and af:commandButtons working as expected when we have them in side a JSPX page w/o dynamic tab shell.
Tested and observed same behavior both in iPAD 1.0 and newer version iPAD 2.0.
We desperately need help on thin. Pls let us know, if i need to provide more details. Is there any specific configurations required to make it work in Jdev 11.1.1.5? At this point we can not upgrade our Env to 11.1.1.6 or 11.1.2 as we already have these Apps in Production and we should give the users flexibility to use it in iPAD.

Yes- I have seen the support for iPAD and iOS are more enhanced it in 11.1.1.6 and later versions.
But we already hosted our apps in Production which is currently 11.1.1.5. We have complex workflows designed in SOA suite too.
Now, if we need to upgrade to 11.1.1.6, we need to basically do validate/test all our applications on new release and it cost us. CLient may not approve for upgrade as of now.
Is there any guidance or way for customers like us who are on 11.1.1.5 version, to get the ADF features and support for iPAD or iOS? Kind of backward compatible patches kind of thing?
Do we need to log a SR on ORACLE?
Please suggest!!

Dynamic Tab Shells

I have used dynamic tab shells in my application to open new tabs dynamically using the toolbar button present in my page......
I am able to open a new tab but cannot able to display the inside component of the tab .........
i have created a backingbean an linked it with my toolbar button using ActionListener ... Created a ADF-TaskFlow and in it i kept my jsff page which will be displayed. while i have other tab pages and which are working fine when they are open . but specifically one is not working...
in my xml(adf task flow) where the jsff file is attached doesnot has a databinding image in it where as other jsff has a databinding image as an icon on the fragment which is attached in the adftaskflow file.....
i think i am missing with databinding of my new task flow ...... please help!!
i am using jdev Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.2.0

Dynamic Tabs Layout

Hello,
I'm using the latest version of JHeadstart (11.1.1.3.35). I have selected Dynamic Tabs layout and everything works fine except that the home page still shows all the groups as a tab in home page. If I click on any of them it will go to the tree menu and dynamic tabs. I have also changed "Content Frirst-Level Menu Tab" to all possible values but it doesn't change anything. Any help would be appreciated.

The home page is just provided as a sample. It is a stand-alone page not a page fragment , so it cannot be used in a region. Since dynamic tabs only display regions, the dynamic tabs cannot be shown on the sample home page.
If you want to have dynamic tabs on your home page, then create a Home group in your application definitiion editor, and check the group-level checkbox "Show as Initial Tab".

Project Lombok - easier getters and setters

I came across [Project Lombok|http://projectlombok.org/] recently and I think it greatly simplifies common Java patterns. All those getters and setters needed to satisfy JPA, JSF, and CDI make conceptually trivial classes become hundred-line monsters. If you need to change a type (e.g. int to long) or a name, then you need to do the same thing three or more times, or you can delete and generate everything again, but this can be risky: you might delete and regenerate a method that contained some little but necessary extra logic (a null check with ?:, for example), which could be indistinguishable from boilerplate code at first sight.
I know this will be met with resistance, but I think a Lombok-like project should be incorporated into Java SE 8 or 9. Look at the great productivity improvements we had with Java 5 and Java 7 (specifically Project Coin). Look how easy it is to create an EJB in Java EE 6. People that would never consider EJBs in the past are now using them (me included) and enjoying!
Maybe Java tools could at least provide official tools to support Lombok, because it currently uses unsupported interfaces to do its work.
I think this post, if taken as an official feature request, would be off-topic here, but hey, I already have an account here and the conversation must start somewhere :-)

Getters and Setters in ActionScript and ECMAScript

This line is taken from a book , here the Author mentions that
In ActionScript , getters and setters is not necessary , they are a part of of the core ECMAScript language.
Can anybody please let me know what is meant by ECMAScript language ??

ECMAScript is an ECMA standard.
Getters and setters are not mandatory (that's what they mean).
However, they can be useful in many cases.
- You can check the value in a setter before assigning (e.g checking if it's null)
- You cannot override properties of a superclass but you can getters/setters just as you can methods
- You can take some action when the value of the property is changed. There are many examples in UIComponent classes of the Flex framework.
- You can put a breakpoint in a setter in order to debug data binding (see if it triggers)
- In order to optimize data binding, you can write [Bindable event="YourCustomEventNameHere")] before the getter/setter and dispatch this event when the value is set so as to enhance performance of data binding (if you just write [Bindable], your properties will be processed by the framework even if their value does not change).
Also, note how the synthax is different than Java.

Avoid creating getters/setters a la Java in ActionScript (i.e not using the get/set keywords). This is something I have seen in some implementations or auto-generated code from UML.

Do you need getters and setters for C types?

Say, I have class declaration like so:

No more so than you would in C++.
In Objective-C, if you really need to provide access to an objects internal values, you should you properties. If you don't need properties, then getters and setters are just as bad as they are anywhere.

I messed around with tab groups and somehow closed it all. Now all my tabs are gone!

I clicked on the "tab groups" button and not knowing what it was or what it does, I seemed to have closed all my tabs (30+). Now they are all gone, except for 10 which i saved from 'recently closed tabs'. Can anyone help! I had important tabs open and do not remember the links or how to get them again!

If FF is set to "Never Remember History" and I try to close it with multiple tabs open, it doesn't warn me first. If it remembers history, it warns me about closing multiple tabs. I want that warning AND Don't Remember History back again!

At work I set my PC to not remember history for privacy reasons.
I always have many tabs open, and the warning about closing multiple tabs was a good thing - but now it only works if it remembers history!
I have the "Warn me when closing...." box checked AND all of the lines in about:config regarding these warnings are set to true. I have tried turning it off and back on, restarted the PC.
I discovered this yesterday with FF 3.something, tried updating to FF4.

The "Use custom settings for history" selection allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting this doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings.
Firefox shows "Use custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".
"Never Remember History" means that Private Browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" gets a checkmark.
You need to remove the checkmark on "Always use private browsing mode" to leave Private Browsing mode or chose the "Remember History" setting.
