Closing Creative Playcenter causes Kernel32 er

The program is Creative Playcenter v.0 that came with the computer withthe "Sound Blaster Li've!" audio card / DVD cd package July of 99 when thecomputer was built. It's a PIII 450MHZ Intel Processor using Windows 98,first build I believe. Gigabyte 440BX/ZX slot motherboard, Western Digital8GB hard dri've, 52 MB SDRAM. Parts wise that's all I can think of thatis relevent. The computer has not been modified since it was built. Itdoes that kernel32 error EVERYTIME the program is shut down, but thecomputer will continue to function normally after the error the box justhas to be moved out of the way. But scan disk on thorough scan NEVER findsanything wrong even after it happens and the computer is rebooted, and thecomputer always boots up normally every time after the error. How can Iget this bug to go away? Creative PlayCenter "Album Not Fou

I am unable to play CDs with the Creative PlayCenter. The CDS are store retail products. A message appears on the PlayCenter saying "Album not Found", also The D: dri've says "unsupported disc". However, CDs play fine with Windows Media Player version 9. I reinstalled the Sound Blaster Li've Value Digital 024 software, but the problem is not fixed. Also, I ran the Sound Blaster diagnostic program and CDs play fine on the diagnostic test using the D: dri've as the source. The PlayCenter used to work OK, so I am thinking that a Windows update may have caused the problem. My computer is a Dell with Windows 98SE and the sound card is a 32MB NVIDIA TNT2 M64 Graphics card. All of the hardware and software was installed at the factory when the computer was purchased in 999.

The only recent updates that I've been hearing which are causing many problems is a Flash Player 8 upgrade. I do not know if this is your issue, but PlayCenter should work. Try updating the firmware on your CD dri've via the Manufacture's website. Also, isn;t there a Creative CD update application? Perhaps try that. Let us know. Perhaps reply back with more info. What version of PlayCenter is installed?

Got My Zen Sleek Photo! Now... Creative Playcenter

I have just got my Zen Sleek Photo this morning (yay! its really, really good by the way) replacing my broken original Jukebox Zen, the original Zen used Creative Playcenter, which I am used to and really like, this sleek uses Creative MediaSource which I don't like, is there any way in which the Sleek Photo, or Sleek if you have one of those, can connect with the Playcenter software?
If this is not possible then could you possibly help with the fact all the music files are stored in folders like on windows explorer, when looking at it on creative media source, this makes it ultra extreme to organise in my opnion.
If i havn't explained that very well, just say, and I'll give you some more details, as I'd really like some help with this, also ask me what you want about the Zen Photo if you want to know about it.

I'm afraid that isn't possible, Playcenter is an old application and was replaced with MediaSource, Playcenter isn't compatible with newer players.
I think what's happening here is that the interface you're seeing is different to the old ones, partly because MediaSource is new, but also (mainly) because the player is an MTP-compatible player, so it'll be a little different to the way the older players behaved.
There should be another application included with that, Zen Media Explorer. You can also use Windows Media Player 0. Perhaps you could try those and see if you prefer them.

Sound blaster Audigy LS, creative media center and creative playcenter wont install on

Hello. I have a sound blaster Audigy LS card in my computer, it came as a bundle in my Sony Vaio that I bought in october of last year. I wanted to download the creative media center, or the creative playcenter. I went through the process of downloads and support and tried to run them on my computer it either says Setup is unable to detect supported product on your system. Click retry button to redirect your device and continue the installation. I've tried clicking retry and and the same message comes up. I have Screenblast Sound Forge . for VAIO and Screenblast ACID 4.0 for VAIO and wonder if thos two audio programs (came with the computer also) are in conflict with installing creative products? The operating system i am using is windows xp media center edition version 2002. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me.

I am pretty much in the same boat but with an Audigy 2 Value Sound Card.
Removed some old piece of rubbish card (6MB Aztech PCI 288 Q3D using a Trident 4DWave-NX Chip.... yes about 6 yrs old !) in my daughters pc and replaced it with the new one.
Same error message i.e. hardware not detected... ihave already posted as im trying to find and install the right drivers. I have also tried the PCI-slot hopping etc etc.
So what next people ?

I have exactly the same problem, I have the DAP jukebox (6 G) and I use the Creative PlayCenter 2 software to transfer mp3 files to the jukebox (there is no other way of doing it). I use Windows XP now and when I open the program it says that I need to upgrade it to version 2.50 and that the update can be downloaded from the creative site but i just can't find it ANYWHERE!! I have already sent an e-mail to the support people and tried to contact them by phone but they are on holidays. Anybody can help us with this?

My center speaker is not working. Many people here state that activating CMSS will make it work. I however no longer have my SBLIVE software. I downloaded the Update to Creative Playcenter but it would not let me install it. I need a previous version!!! Is there a way around this?

Why is Adobe Creative Cloud causing Cocktail.app to crash?

Chasing error messages, I found that while ACC was active, the Scheduler in Cocktail 7.1 fails. When I quit ACC, it works. When I restart ACC, Scheduler fails. It's first log message when failing is: "Could not get path to main bundle."
This collision has been occuring since I updated my OS to Mavericks, 10.9.1. That required an update to the Mavericks' version of Cocktail. By way of background, I'm on an "Early 2008" Mac Pro with 2 x 3 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon processor, 8 GB RAM and oodles of storage, four internal drives with over 3 GB total internal storage.
I have reported this behavior to Tech Support at Maintain which makes Cocktail. I will also report to Apple.
However, since going to Mavericks, I have also been intermittently encountering issues with ACC's interaction with Retrospect, an industrial-strength back up utility I've used for years. Because ACC is writing to a log virtually continuously (i.e. nearly every minute), Retrospect finds mismatches in the ACC.log when it validates its backup. This has been happening in about 80% of the nightly backups since Mavericks was installed in mid-December.
I will begin manually disabling ACC whenever I'm not using one of the Creative Cloud applications. As I consider myself a heavy user of LR 5 CC, PS CC, and Bridge CC, this is an extra chore I believe I should not be required to perform. ACC should run when it is needed and only then. It should not be causing mischief at other times.
ACC is the new kid on the block. I've been using scripts in both Cocktail and Retrospect for over five years with solid success.
I would have reported this as a bug if I could locate a place accepting such a report.

Creative Drivers causing non-stop Blue Screens

Hey Everyone,
I have a very serious problem with my Creative drivers, which is driving me absolutely crazy.
I have owned a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook for quite some time and it has been working just fine in my laptop (I'm aware that this is the SoundBlaster forum, not the PCMCIA forum, however, since this is a driver-issue, I felt that this may be the better place to ask for help). I stopped using the card for about half a year and now that I want to use it again, the drivers keep blue screening my system!
I'm pretty clueless what more I can try to make that thing work again. I've uninstalled the drivers I had on my computer and tried every single version of the drivers available from the Creative website. Somewhere in the middle of the installation process, right after the drivers were copied and the card is being initialized, the system will hang without a bluescreen and without responding to Ctrl+Alt+Del or Num Lock. So in order to prevent that from happening, I started removing the sound card from my system, right after the installer started copying the drivers. That way, at least the installation process could finish successfully. However, after restarting my system, inserting the Audigy 2 ZS Notebook, emupia2k.sys would cause an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL stop error. As I said, this happens with ALL of the drivers available from the Creative website (v2.09.006 from 0/09/06; v2.2.0002 from 03/6/07 and v2.8.000 from 03/23/09).
Out of curiosity, I then tried daniel_k's hacked drivers from the forum. These installed fine and without crashing my system during the installation process, however, they did still crash my systemwhen sound was playing back. You could forsee an impending crash by the sound starting to get messed up, sounding digital, choppy and roboty. The bluescreen that would appear was usually caused by commonfx.sys
Now I have completely given up on Creative dirvers and started using the open source drivers from the kX project. Problem with these drivers is that they do not support the Audigy 2 ZS Notebook fully, but at least my sound card works without causing my system to bluescreen.
My plea to the community: Please give me some kind of idea what I can do to get that card working smoothly again. The Creative drivers have never been very reliable on my system, but this is just rediculous. I can't stick to the kX project drivers, since I need SPDIF output, which doesn't seem to work with those drivers.
Here is what I have already tried to fix the issue:
- Uninstalled all traces of Creative drivers with Revo Uninstaller (using the built-in scan for leftovers)
- Used Driver Sweeper .5.5 from Guru3D to delete leftover sys files and other Creative components - http://bit.ly/AECNY
- Used Device Remover to delete references to the old Creative hardware from the registry - http://bit.ly/jingo
- Scanned the registry from anything containing "Creative" or "ct" and deleted it, if I deemed it safe
- Searched my hard dri'ves for anything referencing ct or Creative and deleted it.
- Scanned my registry with CCleaner
- Used the Creative Setup tool included in some of the older versions of the Creative drivers and used the driver removal feature that it has, to remove the drivers. Curiously, the tool would keep on detecting the driver, even after having removed it and performing a restart.
My System:
I run Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, with Service Pack 3 and all updates since then. My BIOS is the latest there is (from some time in 2007) and my PCMCIA controller is a Toshiba ToPIC00. I haven't updated my BIOS, the drivers for the CardBus controller or for my chipset in the half year that I did not use the sound card in.
?Creative Developers: If you like, I can crash my system a couple more times with your drivers, and send you a full kernel memory dump! Those things are about 200 megs each, so be sure to tell me the location of an FTP server or similar, that I could use.

Viewing or closing an Report causes an GPF

Good evening from Italy!
Some of mine reports are causing an GPF when opening or closing them from my VB6 application; in the details of the Microsoft GPF Error Window - when it opens - I found sometimes the <cslibu-2-0-0.dll> and sometimes the <craxdrt.dll> as crashing module. (when wished and possible I can post the screenshots).
On the customer machines runs Windows XP Professional SP3 (localized Germany).
Strange: on the machine I use for developing the reports seems to works fine; this machine runs under Windows Vista Professional SP1 (localized Italy) operating system.
I'm using Crystal Reports XI R1 SP4 Developer Edition.
The reports is build on the Pervasive.SQL 2000i native connection combined with an <FiledDefinitionFile>, wich will be filled from the VB6 application through the <CrystalDataObject> Rowset.
Please note, that the crash also happens, when I replace the TTX file connection with an native Pervasive table or when I use an ADO Recordset to fill the TTX file (these test's I made the last days...)
Is there someone who can help me?

Since I have installed CrystalReports only an my developer machine and here the reports work in the report desinger as under VB6, its difficult to check.
Maybe can help this: when I run the dependency check from then Crystal Reports Menu, it gives me an <Unknown error verifying the table>; but the preview works fine, with all data.
I took an older Report (created with Crystal Reports 9) and updated this, verfying the database and saving it in the Crystal Reports XI format: this report works! It has a very similar combination of tables (Btrieve and TTX), subreports and connected tables as the crashing report.
So I don't think it will depence from the VB6 environment.
One of many test's I made was eliminating from the crashing report pieces that could cause problems: so first I removed the subreports, then some unused formulas and parameters, then tables wich created problems under Crystal Reports 9 (tables with the memo field...), since the were only two tables on the report...: nothing - the crash happens after I called the report 1 to 3 times from my application.
Sometimes the Mircosoft Error Windows indicates now <crpe.dll> an <ufmanger.dll> as crahing modules...
However, if you still mean, I have to post the question in antoher forum, so I will do it.

Creative Cloud causing loss of Window Focus and preventing screensaver from running?

I am running Windows 8.1, and have been very annoyed lately with an intermittent loss of window focus. Any window I am working in would quickly lose focus and then regain it. Frequently I would be entering data into a field, and, while typing, the loss and recapture of focus would cause me to type over/replace everything I had just typed. Also, my screensaver would not run. Screensaver preview would work, but the screensaver never ran on its own.
After a few hours of Internet searching, and by using some Windows tools, I discovered a plethora of system errors related to CoreSync.exe. This executable is part of Adobe Creative Cloud. I uninstalled Creative Cloud, and now the problems have vanished. Are there any known workarounds for this? I do not want Creative Cloud installed if I have to put up with these issues.

Problems with creative Playcent

Hi I have this Creative Playcenter2 since 3-4 years and it has been awsome but since yesterday when I try to open any mp3 file or opening the player by itself I get an error saying "CT2PLAY.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows.You will need to restart the program". I tried reinstalled the player and rebooted the pc but still gets the same error.Any ideas.. Thanks!

Eventually got through to Adobe Support 'Chat'.
Brilliant and the problem is solved. It was quite complex but their agent, Ramamurthy was superb and all I can say is a huge thank you.
For anyone who has such a problem, here are the steps we took:
Run CC cleaner
Go to Program Files x686/Adobe/. Rename the Adobe Creative Cloud folder to Adobe Creative Cloud old.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe folder. Rename the Adobeapplication manager folder to Adobeapplication managerold.
Now open the Run window. Type %LocalAppdata% and click on OK.
pen the Adobe folder. Open the OOBE folder. After opening the Adobe Folder rename the OOBE folder to OOBE_Old.
Now, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe folder. Rename the OOBE folder there too.
Please click on the link http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4773&fileID=4437 to download and install the Adobe Application manager.
Once the above is done and installed, Launch the Adobe Application manager (should be on Start Menu) and click on Update.
At this stage the Creative Cloud app should appear and run.
Voila!
This is for Windows 7, though I guess it would be similar for Win 8.

Creative Cloud causing imac krash?

I have a late 2013 iMac 27" with SSD HD and 32 gigs RAM.
Ever since i started using Creative Cloud it has been krashing 1-2 times a day, or more.
After several long sessions with the Apple support they say, after reviewing the krashreports, that the systemkrashes are coused by Adobes Creative Cloud app...
Has anyone else experienced the same phenomena?

We are not aware of any such issue. There is hardly anything that we do that can cause whole system crash. Also, crashes generally mean unhandled errors or exceptions which Apple should look at their end. Also, Apple is usually diligent in reporting such issues to us in case they arise but we haven't heard from them.

Windows 7 64-bit Adobe Reader 9.3 and IE8 - Opening PDF in tab and then closing said tab causes IE8

I've been running Win7 64-bit for quite some time now and only up until a few weeksa go started to have problems with Adobe Reader continuing to ask me how I wanted to read a document and to click here to save the settings and not ask me again. The check box never worked and it would continue to ask me constantly every time I opened up a new PDF file.
I finally figured out how to get rid of the nagging dialog box but now each and every time I open up a new tab with a PDF file in it and then close the tab, IE8 crashes and tries to recover the tab. This never happened before.
What is causing this and how do I fix this? Please advise.
Upgraded to 9.3 this morning and problem remains. Tried uninstalling all traces of Adobe Reader and reinstalling but still no dice.
Problem also happens at home on a similar computer running Win 7 64-bit and running an older version of Acrobat and Adobe Reader.

Try this:
Right click on the IE8 icon in the taskbar. A menu pops ups up. Right click again on "Internet Explorer". Then left click on "Run as administrator". I had a different problem with Reader and this solved the problem. The problem I had was I could not save pdf files in IE8. This solved that problem.

How do I get signal from Digital Optical input (Extigy) to the Creative PlayCent

How can I rip MP3's from the Digital Optical input on the Extigy? The PlayCenter does not seem to have any interest in the Extigy/USB as an input source. Thank you for your help!!?

Since you are talking about variables, I suppose that you are using CP4, right?
There is a fine tutorial in de CP4-help, chapter 'Variables and advanced actions', 'Tutorial on scripting' which explains more elaborately what I will try here:
Create a user variable, p.e. named 'vName' (Project, Actions, sheet Variables)
Ask the user to enter his name in a Text Entry Box; in the properties of this TEB, sheet Advanced you indicate that this name should be put in your variable 'vName'
Wherever you want to show this name, create a Text Caption and insert your variable by the button 'Insert variable'; this button is present in the properties window and also in the formatting toolbar if you are editing in place (look for X and and arrow); the variable in the text caption will show as '$$vName$$' and in the published SWF you will see the username.
