Closing GRNI document

Hi Experts,
I would like to have your thoughts on the below. I have an open Goods Receipt PO dated sometime last year and the period is locked. I need to close the document with current system date. In order to do that I have to open the posting period and close the document.
The client says why SAP is asking to open the posting period which are closed and the document which is being closed with current system date ? One openion can be since the document posting date refers to a period which is locked, any editing in the documet is possible with that period being open. However my client feels that this should not be the case because if the GRNI closing is done by a normal user who does not have authorisation to admin/posting period and also there is danger if the period is left open.
Can you tell me if SAP has got a better logic ?
regards
Johnson

Hi Jullie,
Thanks forthe update. But in order to update the due date in GRPO the posting period needs to be opened. As Gordon says it was not an issue in 2005A...  so I think there should be some logic behind this functionality not applying in  2007 version ?

Johnson

  • Making a button visible upon closing a document

    Kind of a weird question, but is there a way to make a button visible upon closing a document? Here's my situation. I want users to click a link which will open a PDF. I then want the users to take a quiz based off of the information in the PDF. Is there a way to have the users click the link to open the PDF, then a button to start a quiz becomes visible when the users close the PDF? I have a feeling it's probably not possible, but I figured I'd check. Thanks.

    I was actually able to find a bit of a workaround. I created an advanced action to open the PDF and show the button (it was hidden to begin with) once I click the hyperlink. It's not exactly what I wanted to do, but I think it'll suffice until I figure out a way to show the button upon closing the PDF. I'll look into the java scripting, even though I'm not really a coder. Thanks!

  • Alart pop-up before closing a document withouit saving, no more?

    Since Lion, Pages no longer pops up the alart message when you try to close a document withouit saving; it just saves without asking. I find this quite annoying.
    I save small changes that I make to a document quite frequently. If I close a document by accident, thereby saving it, then the content of the document and that of the auto back-up become almost identical. That means the back-up is utterly useless. Nor can I "undo" the changes as I lose all the edit history by closing the document.
    Is there any way to bring back the old alart pop-up?

  • Closed base Document appears in the open item list

    Hi all,
    While we are fully copying a base document to a target document, the base document header and rows will be closed, but it will appear in the open item list report.
    So the customer has created a Sales Order -> Delivery -> A/R Invoice.
    The Sales Order document status gives 'Closed', but still appears in the Open Item list (Sales - AR --> Sales Reports --> Open Items List).
    The customer using: SBO2005A PL22
    Further i also have looked in the SAP Notes (Note 1083366) but i can't solved it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Chief,
    In open items list of sales order,
    *select reqd. sales order,net amount,tax & total amount open in
    sales order,
    also open delivery document & compare with it,
    there must be difference in tax total/total/they
    must have changed quantity,unit price,date,changed payment terms/tax codes which causes delivery created without reference to sales order.
    That's why sales order is open.
    You can manaully close sales order by Data-->Close.

  • Acrobat crashes when closing a document.

    I have developed a simple Acrobat Addin, which adds a menu item and a toolbar button. The active document will be closed when this menu item or toolbar button is clicked.The document is closed using the function "AVDocClose".
    Acrobat crashes when AVDocClose is invoked from toolbar button and works fine when invoked from menu item. This happens only when "Show each document in its own window" is checked and in the version 8.0 Professional. Works fine in 7.0. The crash has occured in Acrobat.dll.
    Is this crash a known Acrobat issue in 8.0?
    OS : Windows XP
    Thanks,
    Partha

    The only  plug-ins installed are the default ones that came installed with Acrobat.  All of these are developed by Adobe, so i'm assuming your are not referring to these as "3rd party".  All custom plug-ins have been uninstalled with the exception of the Stamper sample to test this theory.  Quite literally this can be reproduced by adding  the following code to the "ToolActivate" method in StamperUI.cpp.  This is the method that is wired into both the MenuItem and Button click events by default in this sample.  When this code is executed by a MenuItem event, no issue at all.  When this code is executed by a button click event, an exception is thrown from Acrobat.exe.  Note that the exception is not thrown from the ToolActivate method, it is thrown at some point after this method completes.
    AVDoc avDoc = AVAppGetActiveDoc();
    if (avDoc != NULL)
    AVDocClose(avDoc, true);
    As you can see, no objects are being acquired in this code.  If AVDocClose is not executed, no issues at all.  Although that goes against what i am attempting to do (as a result of a Button click, i need to be able to close the AVDoc).
    Any thoughts as to root cause of this issue?
    Karl, i really appriciate your assistance!  Thanks.

  • Multiple Portal Authentication when closing Word document

    Hi all,
    We are on EP6 SP2 Patch4 HF7 and CM HF6.  When closing a MS Word document accessed from the KM Repository multiple Portal authentication popups appear.  This only happens to Word documents.  Other documents like Excel, Powerpoint, pdf etc. close without any popups.
    The problem only happens when going through the IISProxy filter.
    Does anybody have any ideas ?
    Thanks

  • Give us a way to get rid of the Home View screen after closing last document

    After closing the last open document, a new window pops up. Please let us disable this. It's bad in a production environment, gets in the way.

    Hi Aditya
    By default, OPA 10.4 will collect the minimum amount of information needed to answer the goal of your interview and then display the answer and the reasons for the answer.You can change what appears on these screens within OPM itself (you don't need to change those settings).
    So I would:
    - add a Summary Screen to your project (if you haven't already)
    - add <your goal attribute> to your summary screen. This will display as a link if the goal is unknown and as a sentence showing the outcome and a Why? link when it is known.
    - add a label to the summary screen, providing information about the outcome (eg "Congratulations you are eligible") or simply show the value of the outcome (eg Your total deduction is %deduction_amount%).
    - use visibility rules to control which items to display at the start/end of your interview (in your case, maybe hide your goal once it is known and show your label once your goal is known). See OPA help topic "Tutorial: Hiding and displaying summary screen elements".
    The Inferred Brand Discount sample supplied in the OPM install provides an example of this (see Help topic Sample Rulebases for information on how to open this).
    Hope that helps,

  • Pages freezes when closing a document

    When I click either the red dot or the "close" from the dropdown,  I get the rainbow circle of death and I have to Force Quit.   Any solutions?

    YES!  I had never made this connection before because it was so rare that Pages didn't crash on me that I didn't believe I could replicate instances of "non-crashing" window closing.  But I opened  eight or ten documents and closed them just fine as long as I didn't print or open the print dialog box.  However, when I ran through jaydisc procedure, I experienced crashes EVERY TIME.  I almost always print the document I'm working on so that's why it seems like it happens all the time.
    So why is this happening and how can it be fixed?  Is it a particular printer?  Obviously not everyone is having this problem. What is the common denominator?   Have you had any help from Apple's iWork team on this?  I have sent them logs and documents but still haven't heard back from them.

  • While closing the document .exe (or) a script should be get triggered?

    Can anybody tell me the feasibility of the below process in Adobe
    Illustrator:
    While closing the Illustrator(CS,CS2 and CS3) document(please note that not Application!), an .exe (or) a script should be get triggered. Is this possible pals, if so, is this possible in Java script (or) VB script?
    Could you please let me know the details and samples.
    Thanks in advance
    Prabudass

    I'm not into scripting outside of After Effects, but most likely this will have to be VB script, not Java. Similar to a thread recently on the Photoshop forum, you'd monitor the window states and their parent/ child relationships. This might however only work in older versions, as CS3 and CS4 use Adobe-specific UI stuff that may not be accessible in that manner. On the other hand it just might by ways of the Flash panel stuff as e.g. used in Adobe Configurator for Photoshop. Maybe investigate these options...

  • How can I stop Muse from quitting when closing a document?

    A lot of utilities automatically Quit when you close a document window.
    I'm making a number of HTML slides with Muse, and continually creating a new Muse document (or site). Every time I close a site, I have to relaunch to open my template. I could keep a site open in the backround, but that populats the tabs in plan view, and could cause accidents.
    Is there a way to stop the application quitting?

    Of course you are right, Zak.
    But, on a Mac, clicking the red button top left in the window, normally closes the window and not the app. Closing the app instead of the window by clicking this button only happens with rather small software-tools.
    I know, Muse is a one-window-application. Therefore it is a certain logic behind the behavior. But, let me bet, every muse-user on a Mac very often closes the application by mistake.

  • Problem with Macro Running When Closing a Document

    Hi Folks;
    I'm trying to develop a Visio macro that runs when I close a document, but I've run into a snag...
    The problem is that the code below only works when I press the 'X' in the corner of the document to close it.  If I try to close it using
    File -> Close, I get the error "Run Time Error -2032464741 (86db0c9b) An exception occurred", and the debugger highlights the first 'Application' line.
    I need the code to work regardless of the close operation, and I'm not sure how to make that happen (since I assumed it should've work the same regardless).
    Private Function Document_QueryCancelDocumentClose(ByVal doc As IVDocument) As Boolean
    Document_QueryCancelDocumentClose = True
    If MsgBox("If you made changes, did you UPDATE the Diagram History? (Select Yes if no changes were made)", vbYesNo + vbCritical + vbDefaultButton2, "Warning - DIAGRAM HISTORY UPDATED?") = vbYes Then
    Application.ActiveDocument.Pages.ItemU("Diagram").Layers.Item("Warning").CellsC(4) = 1
    Document_QueryCancelDocumentClose = False
    Else
    Document_QueryCancelDocumentClose = True
    End If
    End Function
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm betting your typical "try this" response is not what anyone wants.  But since you've chimed in... my problems with the Visio event model are PLENTY.  Print and save events that cannot be cancelled, document close that doesn't fire on application
    close, and Application.BeforeDocumentSaveAs that occurs WAY AFTER the document has been saved are just a few.  (Did Microsoft even test these events??)  The official Microsoft response to ALL of this was, in a word, "repurpose" it. Essentially they
    advocate completely rewriting the actual Save and Print portions of the interface and corresponding logic in Visio by intercepting keystrokes and redirecting ribbon extensibility idMso ="FileSave" and idMso ="FileSaveAs" commands to your own methods.
    To quote paid support:
    "You may repurpose Save command in Visio as suggested in my previous email, however there is a design limitation that does not allow repurposing Print backstage button.
    In order to achieve Visio Print repurpose, the workaround is to hide the print back stage altogether and plug with custom backstage ribbon xml."
    We now also repurpose idMso="FilePrintQuick", idMso="FilePrintPreview", and idMso="FileClose" customUI commands, but we still had to use the logic above to catch save before closing.
    Valid methods that work while Visio is active will fail within Application close.  IT IS A BUG IN VISIO.  That is what this post is about.

  • How do I activate "Save As" upon closing a document

    I've created several forms that I placed on a shared network drive & intranet for people to use.  After the user fills out the form, they can then print it using the print button on the form.  When they close out of the form, a box opens and asks them if they "want to save the changes before closing - yes, no, cancel".  If they select "yes", their changes save in the current form so when the next user opens the form, it's populated with the previous users information.  What I need to happen is when the user selects "yes" to save the form, a "save as" box opens so they have to save it in another place.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Hi,
    I think the best solution for this problem is to reset the form before saving the form and all you need to do is add a script line which is
    xfa.host.resetData("FORMNAME");
