Closing programs shortcut on my Tour

Is there a shorter way to close programs used on my Tour? Is there a better way than closing each one one at a time?

Hi. I am happy to look into this for you. I do not see a way to close programs that is already on the phone unless you want to do it one by one. You can always search the blackberry app market to see if there is anything to suit your needs.

It sounds as if iTunes is failing to launch properly on your Windows computer. You don’t mention what version of Windows you have, but one of these two articles should be useful to you -

OS X Shortcuts are overriding my program shortcuts

Hi guys,
I've actually had this problem for the past 1 year now and sadly, I was too lazy to bother posting this up on the forum, but it's starting to irritate me, so i'm just going throw this out there.
Is there any way I can make OSX shortcuts to stop overriding program shortcuts?
For example, by default, shortcut F3 on the desktop (finder) will correspond to "move focus to the dock." Fine.....no problem......but the problem now lies when I have a program open. For example, in Logic Pro 8, the shortut F3 may correspond to "show audio mixer." The problem is that even when I am in the program, pressing F3 doesn't show me the audio mixer. Pressing F3 moves my entire desktop to focus on the dock. Hence, the OS shortcut has overrided the program shortcut, and this is making me feel a little irritated.
I tried finding some sort of a setting inside the "Keyboard & Mouse" menu inside system preferences, but I didn't find anything.
By the way, I'm using a macbook pro right now. I've noticed that I never had this problem when i was on my G5, but for some reason I do on the laptop.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

In the KB&M Preferences, either check or uncheck the box that says, "Use all F1, F2, etc ...."

click the home button twice, when you see the apps line up on the page, swipe the ones you want to close up and off the page. Scroll to access more apps, tap the home button once to exit the mode
For battery issues, look in the notifications. iOS7 defaults a lot on that you may not need. Also look to the background updating of apps. That can drain battery too.

How can I create more than one program shortcuts in LabView Installer?

I have builded 3 executable files in LabView Application Builder. I want to create an installer (using the same application builder) that can copy the 3 files to the same destiny directory, install the Runtime Engine and create (in the same program group) 3 shortcuts for the executables. Is it possible with LabView Installer?

The Application Builder does not offer this option. It is really intended as a basic installer builder. However, you can use other software packages to enhance your isntaller. There are many third party installer builders that you can use to modify the msi file which the application builder create for you. You might want to check one of those out and use it for your application.

I have been using Flash Player for years but a website tells me I need to install the latest version. When I try to do so, I am told to close Internet Explorer and a program called crextp39. I have never heard of this program, nor does it show up on my Program List, open or otherwise. Can you adviose me what to do?

Right Click on the Task Bar or Keyboard Shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+Esc)
Check the Processes Tab, you might find that program
Note : Make sure you have click on "Show Proceses from all users"

Closing programs before sleep

Before I updated to 10.8.4, before I put my mac to sleep I would close the program displayed on top like firefox etc. then all the other ones open would display as I closed them before I would put it to sleep. Now after I close the one program it doesn't display the others open. Is there a setting I missed. I don't like programs running while in sleep mode if I don't check the bar.

It could be the HD, that would be good because it's also possible it's more serious. However the easiest way to check is use the oringinal Install disc the computer came with or your Leopard upgrade DVD to boot the system. Insert either into the SuperDrive, then restart while holding down the Option key. Choose the Install DVD, select the language then click the Utilities menu and choose Disk Utility. Once in Disk Utility then run Repair Disk, if it's the HD then it will report errors. Sometimes you may need to run Repair Disk 2-3x for it to report anything. If it does begin reporting errors Google the error code and see what turns up or you can post it here where someone may know what it means.
If the machine will not boot from the Install Disc then you have other problems and will need to take it into an Apple Store or AASP to be professionally diagnosed.

Old Microsoft Word Doc Labels Stay up With Gestures after Closing Program

Don't even know if this is going to make sense... When I do the four-finger-up gesture the tags/labels (not the actual documents) of the documents I had up in Word yesterday are still up. I've closed those documents. I've quit the program. I've reopened the program. I've opened and closed other documents. It doesn't matter: the little label thingies are still there (actually think they're overlapping older ones now). WHAT IS HAPPENING?!

Same problem here - Microsoft Word 2008 (update 12.1.7) will open fine, and then start the spinning pizza of death. Only way out is to force-quit the app. I've tried:
1) deleting plist and font cache files
2) uninstalling MS Office 2008, reinstalling and then re-applying updates 12.1.0 and 12.1.7
3) confirming that Apple's Font Card.app can verify all fonts
No luck. Currently I can't open any MS word doc without the spinning pizza of death.
If you are lucky enough that these symptoms only happen with a specific Word .doc file, I would see if the PC-originator could re-save the file as .RTF and resend. If you can then open it OK, you could revert back to .doc (or .docx) format. RTF format is Microsoft's interchange format. If there are anomalies in the .doc file, saving as .RTF can sometimes clean them up. Once done, you can revert back to native MS Word format.

Compy stalls for a few seconds while closing programs.(x-fi

It all started when i put my xtreme music in my compy. it runs good and sounds great, until after running a game or just having it on for a while it starts stalling when exiting firefox or just explorer windows. Its very strange, it only happens if the window or program being closed it the last one on the screen. for example, if i had firefox and a window open, close firefox-no stall, close the window and it stalls. The stalls go like this, right when i click to exit the window it seems like everything freezes exept for the mouse(but if you click like 5 times the mouse will freeze too and there is an error beep from the case speaker) after about 5 to 0 seconds everything will come back to normal until i open and close another window and i get the same thing all over again. it also takes forever to shut down windows because it freezes after every program it shuts down. there are no errors in the event viewer and all my temps and voltages seem to be ok. i dunno what to do anymore, maybe someone has had this before (i hope).

Windows XP SP2
AMD 64 athlon 3000+
RAM: gig kingmax ddr400
Video: ATi Radeon x850xtpe 6.2 cat drivers (6.4 screws up planetside)
Sound: Creative x-fi extreme music
mobo: A-bit NF8 with nVidia 250gb chipset i believe (latest bios/drivers)
PSU: 450watts

I have the exact same problem! I have an HP all in one printer hooked up to my network. I used Ctrl-Alt-Del and stopped all of the processes starting with hp and the delay is gone. So there seems to be a problem with the HP and Soundcard compatibility. Right now I will give up some printer functions rather than put up with that delay. I hope they are working on a fix!!

How to create a program shortcut (command line, not icon)

I installed a program from source, it's a biological structure modeling software. How can I make a shortcut so that I just type in the name of the program to get it to start? Thanks!

There are two ways of doing it, depending on what you want to accomplish. Both require that you edit the file ~/.bashrc (I assume you use bash)
1) If the application places all the executable files in a given directory (let's say /opt/Application/bin/), you can access all those executables directly by simply telling your shell where to look (in the same way the shell automatically looks for executable files in eg. /usr/bin). In ~/.bashrc, you would have to add a line that looks like this:
PATH="$PATH:/opt/Application/bin"
2) If you just want to make a traditional "shortcut" that executes a given command, this can be done with alias. Add this command to your ~/.bashrc:
alias shortcut="some command"
In this case, typing shortcut into a terminal will be interpreted just like if you had typed some command instead.
In order to try out these changes, either restart your terminal or run this command:
source ~/.bashrc
[EDIT]

HT3159 Can not open Pages. Tried to empty trash, closed programs on dock, then reloaded I Work. All three programs show up in Finder that they have been downloaded; however, Keynote and Numbers programs will only open. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Eric. I'm not sure what I should be checking using your suggestion--as I said, I'm an utter novice with the iMac. However, I saw a reference to problems with the Library entries, so I checked mine and the iWork files were missing, something confirmed when I checked the crash log. In desperation, I did another software update, and that seems to have fixed the problem completely. Now wondering if I dare upgrade to Lion!
