DNG files do not contain some metadata supplied by the camera, which can be used by the manufacturer's software. Thus, if you don't keep the original Raw photo, you will lose this information.
If your 1000% sure you're never going to use the manufacturer's software, then this isn't a problem. But who can be sure what software you will be using 10 years from now?

This errors comes on My Secondary server during log shipping and database goes to restore mode.

[DATA LOSS] I closed the Tab Groups and all my tabs dissapeared. How can I recover the tabs in Firefox 26? Would you please just delete this feature?

A slip of the mouse in trying to return to the left-most tab caused the tab groups feature to take over the window. I completely failed to comprehend what I was looking at and closed the thing by clicking the x because I damn sure didn't want what I was looking at. Undo close group? Of course not, I didn't want a group in the first place. Hey! My tabs are completely gone now! So in just a few steps all of which seemed innocent, I have lost all but ten of the tabs that were open, and those were only the most recent ten (and actually older tabs would have been more valueable than newer so insult on top of injury).
I don't think increasing the number of undoable tab closures is the answer. I think getting rid of the tab groups feature all together is the best way to go. I seem to have lost all the tabs I had open, irretrievably, and some of them had been open for WEEKS so they can't be reopened from history.
The tab groups feature is a data loss bug. Please remove it from the UX completely. If you have to figure out a way to grandfather people who actually have a tab group, fine but don't further vex me with it, please.
The reason this catastrophe has occurred is that your feature, was so discoverable that I activated it by mistake, and the UI after that had to be learned on the spot, yet was too complicated to learn. You really should withdraw it until you can figure out how to keep the UI for it from causing data loss such as I have experienced this morning.
Also, there may be other questions on this feature which are from a certain point of view the same as this one. It's hard for me to tell for sure. None of them had a true resolution so that's why I posted this one, also I'm seeking a specific fix, removal of the offending feature.
Why remove the feature? Because if I allow in my discussion the possibility of retaining it, it will stick around in its present and dangerous form until your team is done bikeshedding the new form it should take. Instead I want you to delete the feature and then require its champion to convince you that a new incarnation won't cause data loss before you allow it back in.
Fellow users, if you know of a way to recover all 50 lost tabs from an "undo close tab group incident", I would be grateful for that advice, but I would still believe the feature should be deleted. Some of the tabs have been retained for months so digging them out of the history is not practical.

I am not 100% certain but I am fairly sure development of this tab feature has ceased and it is likely to be deprecated. I am even less sure what the replacement will be.

I have not tried this and am not even using Windows at present but the tabs groups are stored as entries in the sessionstore.js files. Firefox has such a file plus sometimes numbered copies and a backup copy. Firefox will have re-writen these files but I suppose there is a posibility the Windows OS may have kept copies.

I am using APEX version 4.2.1.00.08 with Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
I've developed an application, that was working fine till 3 days ago...
At the moment, I can log into the application but when I enter my ID/PW it takes me to my 1st page but then it runs for a mint or so (trying to load charts) and then generates following error message
No data received
Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.

interestingly, I haven't changed anything within the application
I've tried it with Chrome Version 27.0.1453.116 m and IE 8.0...
with IE 8.0, it shows I/O Error in place of my graphs and get's a pop up message that displays "Error - error unknown"
The only thing that I can recall doing differently is logging via remote desktop connection, but I've used remote desktop in the past as well and it worked.
Please advice

Not allow to save the billing document in the back date if FI period closed

Hi ,
We have a requirment in which end user should not be able to create the billing document if the billing date lies in FI posting period which has been closed.
As of now the users are being able to create the billing documents even if the Billing date lies in the closed posting period but the sccounting document does not gets generated.
Now we want to block the billing document creation as well.
Please provide some pointers to the above scenaio. Thanks..

if not , here is the solution.
go to the program RV60AFZZ. This is the exit for billing.
In that there is a form called
FORM userexit_number_range USING us_range_intern.
in the form you have to write the code.
variables to pass for the function module.
DATA: lv_buper LIKE t009b-poper,
        lv_gjahr LIKE t009b-bdatj.
CALL FUNCTION 'DATE_TO_PERIOD_CONVERT'
      EXPORTING
        i_date               = syst-datum
        i_periv              = 'V3'
     IMPORTING
       e_buper              = lv_buper
       e_gjahr              = lv_gjahr
in lv_buper you will get the last posting period which is open ie the posting period month.
based on lv_buper you get , you can write your validations.
You have to remember that the posting period which u get is based on the fiscal year.

Unable to create or update the Custom Data Provider WIS 10853

I have created the universe in designer then I created QAAWS. In the web intelligence tool, clicked for new document and then chosen web services under other data sources. After giving webservices detailed, I encountered the following error.
Error from Personal Datasource : Unable to create or update the Custom Data Provider: invalid information retrieved while trying to get the structure. (CDS 105109). (WIS 10853)
Can anyone help abt this problem? I wud very thankful for them.

Can you post the wsdl URL. It would be of great help if we could have a look at the wsdl schema. Not all schemas are supported at the moment and hence the error. You can have a look at the limitations section in the documentation guide.

How to post recurring postings in the GL period for the execution date?

I have a customer who uses the alert to show recurring postings. If they select to post the entry, the system date is used for the posting period. Is there any way to have the system use the 'execution date' period? The problem is that they might not see the posting until Oct (system date) when it should have been executed in Sept. So, the recurring posting is posted into Oct instead of Sept. Any information you have on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The alert is running. However, when the users selects a recurring posting to update, it uses the 'system' date and not the date of execution on the recurring trx. So, if for example, the user was on vacation for the last week in Sept and he gets back on Oct 1. There is a recurring posting with an execution date of 9/30/09 in the system. The user gets the alert on Oct 1 when he returns to the office and then selects it for posting. The posting date on the recurring posting would be OCT 1...they really want it to be 9/30/09. Basically, is there a way or work around to select the 'posting' date of the recurring posting or will it always use the 'system' date?

SAP Documentation does'nt say that no further PO's can be created after you flag the PR as closed. Please see the following documentation:

Give attention to the note which says:
"You can still create purchase orders by referencing a requisition if this indicator has been set in the requisition concerned"

Yes: it has always been that way.
If you search for July 17th in the Search Discussions box in the upper right hand corner of the page, you can find a number of workarounds, including launching iCal at login as a hidden startup item or using MenuCalendarClock iCal Edition from objectparksoftware.
