Hi, new to BT Broadband and went live on approx 5th September 2013. Previous service providor (Orange/EE) still wants to take monthly payment from my account as they have still to receive notification of transfer/closure from BT to allow them to process closure etc. Who should I contact at BT
Did you ask for a MAC code from EE?

How can I find out the previous service provider my device is still registered with?
When trying to create a BIS account, I received the error message that my device was already registered with a different service provider and that I would have to reregister it. The problem is that I bought it new from cordlessphoneworld.co.uk and it was supposedly "completely refurbished".
My Pearl 8100 is a BT phone, however BT confirmed to me that it was not registered with their network. The seller, cordlessphoneworld.co.uk, told me to contact BlackBerry support, and BB support told me to talk to my service provider (O2 UK) who has already told me I would have to get in touch with the previous service provider.
How can I get my BB released from its current BIS registration, or at least find out who it is registered with, in order to finally enjoy its full functionality and not just the regular phone stuff?
My BB info:
PIN: *********
IMEI: #################
Happy for any help or ideas!!
Thanks.
EDIT: Removed personal information
Message Edited by Andy on 08-30-2009 02:33 PMTheres a high chance it was set up with the original carrier that is was sold with.
To find this out you need to get the vendor id of the device.
Do this by holding down (all at the same time ) the ALT+CAP+H button..
Or
Whilst pressing down ALT, select E Then S then C then R
You should see a little page pop up with random info.
What you are looking for is the vendor ID. a three digit number.
Then I will post a list of all the vendors IDS at the end of this message as i can't remember the link..
Anyhow, find the carrier from the list and call them asking them to release the PIN..
IF... the prev user didn't register it with that carrier (which would mean you phone has possibly been used twice before) then you can call your current Carrier and ask them to escalate the call to RIM who will be able to tell...
Hope this helps..

I received an iPhone 6 in the mail from my previous service provider but I already changed to a different provider and got an iPhone 6 in the meantime because my iPhone 5 stopped working and I was desperate thinking I wouldn't receive the phone in the mail. Should I mail it back or sell it?
You aren't serious are you? Send it back. It is not yours, you do not own it, therefore selling it would constitute selling stolen goods. You would be committing a crime, and you would be screwing whomever you sold it to.

How to register a blackberry with the appropriate service provider ?
Hello,
I've just bought a Pearl 8100. I've inserted my SIM card and the phone is working ok. However I can not send or receive any email and can't access the net. When I bought it, I was told to contact my service provider (Orange - UK) to get the phone set up. That's what I did and I was directed to a web site (w3.blackberry.orange.co.uk) where you have first to register as new user by giving your PIN and IMEI. However I haven't been able to complete the task as a message popped up saying that the phone was already registered with a different service provider and that I had to re-register it with the appropriate one. I personnally never registered the phone before but basically that's what I have to do so I need some help because I have no idea how to do that... Thanks....

Apparently i'm not registered... with who?
How can i make my BB pearl work on Virgin media Email account.
Thanks for any help. i'm totally stuck!!
Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
You will need to contact your carrier for assistance. Be sure that you have an adequate service plan from them to enable your access to their BIS. Be sure that they can properly register your BB into their BIS. If you obtained your BB second hand, it is quite possible that the prior owner did not release the PIN from the Orange BIS...in which case your new carrier won't be able to create a BIS account for you on their network. And, typically, only the owner of the account (at Orange) will be able to convince Orange to release the PIN from their BIS...
Good luck!

I have iPad 2 and recently changed my Internet Service Provider and email address. When I switch on the iPad I am asked for my password for
my previous providerwhich when entered is not acceptable. I am told to create a new passord but this only changes the password for my current
address. I am now unable to access iPad and I need to know how to circumvent this.Roger, thank you. I wish I had sent out this question a month ago, when I committed the folly of creating another apple id with my alternate email address. Since then, I had realized that I didn't seem to need it, hence today's post.
So now what do I do? Is there anyway to delete that unecessary apple id?
And it is even worse than that...the secondary address listed currently in our apple id is a mobile me one that my husband created, but never uses, never checks, and probably doesn't even remember the password for. -
Can I use my USA 4S iphone in Paris France with a French service provider like Orange/France Telecom?
Yes, but the phone has to be SIM unlocked first by the USA carrier, if it is locked. If you have an unlocked iPhone, then you can just pop in a Orange SIM.

There are several factors involved here, I shall explain them as best I can and will include all details, regardless of immediate relevancy:
In August of last year I purchased a new MBP15", and 2 months later I purchased an iPhone 5s refurb (unused) from my service provider (02), there were no issues connecting the two or with iCloud. Fast-forward several months to February I had a liquid spill on my laptop that rendered it unusable. After a month my insurance came through and I received a new laptop, and in order to successfully pair my replaced MBP with my 5S I performed a restore on my iPhone after backing up my data on iCloud.
When I turned on my iPhone after the restore, I was presented with the usual set-up process: wi-fi connection was completed without issue, as was enabling location services, entering my Apple ID and choosing my selected back-up.However, I was subsequently presented with an option to transfer purchases from an email address have never used and didn't recognise, so I declined. Immediately afterwards, a second Apple ID (again that I neither used nor recognised) popped up for the same reason, I declined, a third unknown Apple ID popped up, I declined again. After declining the three previous IDs, the old email address for my ID was presented to me, I entered my password to see what happened and it declined, saying 'the email is no longer valid.
After this, the restore continued, I finished setting up my iCloud with my correct ID. Since then (about a week ago) my iPhone has been unsuccessfully trying to 'restore from iCloud Backup', and every time I exit & re-enter a Wi-Fi zone I am presented with the same series of incorrect Apple ID'sThe answer is very simple: You were not the original owner of the phone. Target sold you a phone that had been returned. You can verify the date of the original sale here: Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage. I suspect you will find that the warranty expiration date is not one year from the date that you bought it.

Not all of my photos upload to my website when I publish it. when my site finishes publising I get an error that says, "There was an error communicating with the FTP server. Try again later, or check with your service provider."
I am publishing directly to an FTP server (option 1). Is this the optimal method or should I be publishing to a folder and then (how do/would I?) publish to my hosting domain?
I'm wondering if this has really anything to do with the publishing process, or whether it just has to do with the photos and/or the photo albums. I've deleted the photo albums with the missing pictures from my site on iweb thinking a file might be corrupt. (I'm getting the albums from iphoto -- drag/drop method into iweb) I then replaced these albums with the same albums as the previous ones from iphoto and then published my site again -- and the EXACT same photos were once again missing in the NEW albums as were missing in the old albums...
Maybe it is a publishing issue, or it could be a photo/file issue. However, these albums aren't very large -- the largest containing 135 photos --
Please! if you have any suggestions or ideas as to what is happening I would be greatly appreciative!
I'm pulling my hair out here trying to diagnose the problem... -

As I mentioned in subject, I am just wondering Whether the java component (Not
ejb, not servlet) can be deployed in App Server and get the services provided
by App Server or not?Nevermind folks - I got it to work. All my configuration was correct; I had other issues with the ejb-jar file that the verifier informed me of (my previous deployments were with the verifier turned-off).

Is the service provider program still in effect?
I signed up as a service provider over a month ago and my certification has yet to be verified. Does anyone know if this program is still available? Who would I need to call to ask?
Thanks...What little sticker are you talking about?
I understood that the previous poster suggested removing the DVD drive from its external case to put into my G4. The external case on my DVD drive (from LaCie) has tamper-evident stickers with warnings not to remove.
By the way, I just called Apple Sales and confirmed that the exchange offer of CDs for DVD+$10 is still open (despite the date on the order form). I should have checked this earlier instead of cluttering this forum. #6-( -
Service provider Software change
Hello everyone, my first post on the forum.
I have an 8520 Curve, OS version V5.0.0681 (platform 5.2.0.67). Is it possible to change the Service provider software, say from O2 UK to Vodafone UK?
Its just that I want to give the phone as a gift and it would be great if it was branded with the appropriate software.
Obviously unlocking is not a problem.
I have downloaded the Vodafone UK software from the BB site, but I just don't know how to do it, or even if its possible.
Any help would be much appreciated,........Thanks !
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi and Welcome to the Community!
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. You can even use a different carriers OS package by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML. Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

amazingmin wrote:

If your intent is that, upon reboot, the splash screen change to a different carrier, that will never change. That splash screen is deeper into the device than is the OS, so it will never change.
Further, you should read this:
KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
And conduct the "seller" steps completely.
Lastly, getting a BB to work on a network where the carrier does not directly support that exact model can be quite challenging indeed. I do not know if this applies in your case, but just be ready for challenges should it not function as hoped for upon receipt.
Good luck!

I cannot receive email properly on either my IPad or my IPhone. I have had them for over a year and they have always worked fine. Until three days ago, when they both started acting up. On the IPad, when I open mail, it says it is downloading about 1,700 emails. At the very end, which takes quite a while to get to, I finally get the most recent ones. The IPad is sending emails just fine.
On my IPhone, when I open mail, it says it is downloading 100 emails, but it doesn't do that. And it gives me no new emails at all. The IPhone is sending email just fine.
I have already deleted the email accounts on both devices and reinstalled them. I've contacted the Internet service provider and verified all the right settings. The Outlook email on my desktop is working perfectly.WMV is a heavily-compressed format/CODEC, and the processing time will depend on several factors:
Your CPU, which is not that powerful in your case
Your I/O sub-system, which is likely a single HDD on your laptop
The source footage. What is your source footage?
Any Effects added to that footage. Do you have any Effects?
Each of those will have an impact on the time required.
The trial has only one main limitation - the watermark. Now, there are some components, that have to be activated, but are not with the trial, but they would be evident with Import of your source footage, if it's an issue.
Good luck,

I am running OS 10.3.1.1779 on my BB Q10 and recently purchased a BB Classic thus wanted to switch device.
The BB Q10 neither allows me to download switch or back up my device using BlackBerry Link - it keeps asking to sign in to my BBID.
I am able to sign in to my BBID from comp and from mobile web on device but not from the BlackBerry App World or Hub. I enter my email and then password, after a few seconds the password field goes blank. It logs incorrect password attempts but in not logging in with correct password.
I tweeted BlackBerry help who suggested a device wipe. I sadly do not have a recent back up and need ALL the contacts i currently have and thus that is not an option. They then suggested I contact BlackBerry Technical Support with my service provider (Safaricom Kenya) - they have never heard of it and asked me to contact BlackBerry directly.
I am at my wits end as I can neither migrate to my recently purchased Classic and neither can I use my BB Q10 without the following message popping up in my hub every time I open an app:
BlackBerry ID
One or more applications/services require you to verify your BlackBerry ID.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- User name and password have always been the same
- Tried reset password, followed prompts, accepted on mobile web and comp - Unsucessful from BB Hub/Appworld
- Tried the wait 8 hours to log in - Unsuccesful
- Tried hard and soft reset - Unsuccesful
- Tried without SIM and only WiFi - Unsuccesful
- Tried only with SIM and without WiFi - Unsuccesful
- Tried rebooting phone while connected to BlackBerry Link - Unsuccesful
- Tried backing up with both phone and comp on Airplane mode - Unsuccesful
I scoured the net and saw many similar issues. KB35119 is the closest I came to in finding a similar error on the Knowledge base and it has no resolution.
I am extremely frustrated and dissatisfied with this issue. Does anyone have an idea of what could be the issue or way around this.
Thank you.Dear Blackberry,
I am experiencing the exact same problem, is there already a solution available?

So when I try to plug in My iPhone 4 to any plug it won't turn on or charge unless if I use an iPad charger. When I do get to turn it on. My Phone will Standby for a few seconds( While I'm Typing my 4-Digit Code) then it'll unlock and go to the home screen. Once I'm on the home Screen I can't Call, Text or Email anyone because my iPhone Can't detect any Wifi Hotspots and it also can't connect to my Service Provider, It'll just Say "Searching...". The non-internet apps work perfectly fine. So since I was able to use Just an iPad Charger to turn on my iPhone 4, I tried a Regular iPhone charger that were plugged into a wall or my computer. When its Plugged in, my iPhone will turn on ( Showing the Apple Logo) then turn back off. It'll constanly do this only when it's plugged into a Regular iPhone Charger, Either plugged into a Wall Socket or my Computer. So I Tried to Restore the Phone by using some of the Methods, given by other iPhone 4 Users, non of them worked. My iPhone won't Restart, Restore, Turn on without a Charger, Be Detected on my Computer and Detect my Service Provider. I really need help to fix my iPhone 4. I'm really not sure if it's a Malfunction with the Software on the iPhone, if my Sim Card is Broken. if the System is Corrupted but it only happens Rarely.
