Clothing pattern distortion in Elements 10

When moving images into PE 10 for editing, patterns on clothing get distorted (stripes, checks). These are fine in other programs after downloading from the camera. They are also fine in the PE 10 RAW editor, but distort when moved into the editor. It does not seem to be just a display issue as they also print with the distorted patterns. Any thoughts on how to correct or avoid this from happening?

I found this method somewhere but never actually tried it.
1. Select the area showing the moire pattern; feather 1 or 2 pixels.
2. Layer > New > Layer Via Copy.
3. On new layer, use Gaussian Blur filter and starting with the slider at the far left, drag it until moire pattern disappears.
4. Change blend mode on this layer to Color. Supposedly, the moire pattern will be hidden by the blur and the object will look normal again.

thanks for the suggestion....i've also found the error msg on restart about device......seems one of the external harddrives is either failing or has failed....am running tech tool on that and all blocks seem to be bad...will try a data recovery from data rescue and then see if i can repartition it. I've found that the reinstall of office 2004 was different this time....asked for serial number again (didn't last time) and that might be it. If it wasn't completely removed there might have been remnants left over......cross my fingers.

Can lens profiles be used to remove distortion in Elements?

I am preparing to buy my first photo editor, so as to be able to use the lens profiles that work with PS, Lightroom, and Camera Raw. Do these profiles work in the Elements package?

I think that lens profiles are automatically enabled in Elements ACR even if you have no interface command.

If one wants to play with the distortion manually, the 'Correct Camera Distortion' in the filters menu of the editor is very handy (works in 16 bits if you want).

I cannot turn off the pattern picker in Elements 10

I have been trying to clone on an image and I am getting a pattern instead of the area I wish to clone
I click on brushes > default brushes, soft brush 21px start to work and I get the unwanted pattern
Guess I'm doing something wrong here. This is the first time this has happened, all cloning jobs in the past have been problem free.
Any input would be appreciated

I'm working with a large set of generated classes, whose fields are named like so:
m_XXX_entry
I would like to be able to define a natvis rule that looks something like this:

Why does Firefox force 8bit color quality when it starts and distort some elements of my screen?

Have no problem with other programs when I set color quality to 32bit. But when I start Firefox the screen looks like a low res screen. If I go look at the color quality in settings it will be at 8bit and changing it appears to fix things. Until I close Firefox and restart it then I am back to 8bit and poor looking graphics and even the windows start button will be messed up as well as the windows icon on the start button

Right-click on the shortcut that you use to start Firefox and select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab and de-select all of the settings.
If none of the settings are selected, repeat the above process, but this time using Windows Explorer right-click on the firefox.exe file, default location is C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

Distorted (interlaced?) look after export in AE CS6

I am working on AE CS6. My current footage is a .png photo of a model in plaid clothing. I need to zoom in the photo. The problem is, when I export my project, the clothing on a model are completely distorted (interlaced?). I uploaded a sample on Youtube so you can see it BUT ACTUALLY Youtube somehow converts it the way it looks quite good: test - YouTube. But on a computer, video (on clothing area) is completely smudging and flickering, I can't give it to a client like that.
Here is a picture of the clothing pattern that causes the problem:

- exporting to different formats
- switching project settings from 8 to 16 to 32 bit
- setting "Upper/Lower Field First" in "Interpret Footage" settings of a photo
In every case effect is the same. I also tried to export the same photo in Premiere Pro - and it looks great, only AE has a problem... I need really quick help on this! THX!

For the technical explanation and the physics behind the phenomenon, search for "moiré" and the apparent visual artifacts created by the interactions of frequencies that are out of phase. Your weaving pattern has a static frequency of white/black/white lines. The number of pixels on the video image, its frequency, is also static. When the those frequencies are harmonic, the image is stable. When those frequencies shift phases at different rates as you zoom out, there is an interaction between them that produces the moiré patterns. As Myl. says, you reduce or eliminate it not by changing the frequencies but by altering the waveform. You waveforms now are rigid, on/off. By softening the waveform into a sine wave you will reduce the interactions. You cannot alter the waveform of the video so you apply a bit of blur to the weave.

StartDrag element with rotationY or rotationX bug

Hello there,
I´ve looked a lot in the web but it seems that no one got this problem... or at least not published it.
I´m making a startDrag with bounds on a element with rotationY value. Ok, it drags, but when got in the bounds it just give a huge bug, distorting the element scale. I tryed some other things but nothing worked - like put the drag canvas without rotationY inside another canvas with the rotationY. I tryied on Flex Builder 3 and Flash Builder and both gives the same bug. Does anyone has an idea or got this error?
PS: in Flex Builder 3 we need to configure it to accept rotationY or rotationX parameters.
This bug is cleared related to rotationY for me because this parameter modifys the 2d into a 3d space, so the rectangle could not be right. I wish someone can help me! Thanks!

Can't import this illustrator file? distorts

Trying to import this file into flash as I need to zoom in

Illustrator and Flash are mostly not compatible. You will
almost always have problems when importing Illustrator files into
Flash. The only thing you can try is to save your Illustrator file
to an older format (Illustrator 8 or older; 5 is preferable). You
may lose some effects. But so what? You will lose them in Flash
anyway.
I gave up on importing AI into Flash years ago. The real best
solution is to make your original graphics directly in Flash or in
a more Flash-compatible program like Freehand.

Pull white background from pattern for layer.

Hello, I have a simple clothing pattern I want to make a 3d Texture from which I can do however what I would like to do is make a layer out of the white background around the template with the marked pattern areas as transparents so after I paint the main template clothing ares, I can place the white background with transparent areas back in as a layer to cover where I paint or fill over the marked template area. Is this possible, if so, how?
I am working in CS5 Extended.

Kimberly, here is a simple method to make the cutouts slightly large so that white seams don't appear on the textured model. Make sure to use the settings that are highlighted in the screenshots.
Open the t-shirt template file
Magic Wand Tool
Click anywhere in the big white area surrounding the t-shirt pieces.
Select > Modify > Contract… try 2 pixels at first
Press Cmd+J (Ctrl+J on Windows) to copy the selection to a new layer.
Hide or remove the original layer.

Simple content pattern in XML Schema

I have a big problem with xml Schema. I have to design an xml schema entry which allows me to enter a tag like <tag>{time}.{date}- </tag> in the xml file. I can enter any text in between the <tag>. But the problem is if I enter the "{" in between the tag it should end with "time}" or "date}" only.
Please help me in doing this.

We would like to guess about the maximum number of Remote Access VPN Clients (IPSEC or SSL VPN). The Endpoint may be ISRG2 or ASA FW series. In the attached documents, the maximum numbers are given as a general guideline, but we think this number may decrease if the Radius Authentication is used instead of Local User Authentication, or PKI is used. We don't want to underestimate or overestimate and design with a 20% Margin. Is there a testing done for these effects, wrt CPU, Memory or similar Router or Firewall Resources, or method we can test this? If there is a tool or method that we may simulate a number of Remote Access VPN Clients simultaneously (i.e 500) for different Authentication scenarios? We have found that IXVPN from Ixia or Load Runner from HP may be helpful, but complex to configure and use.

Not sure if you were able to solve your problem..but I was trying to do exactly what you were trying to do.. access a datasource from a simple Java client. However, you cannot do so by simply writing the Java class and running it. The simple Java client has to be deployed as a J2EE Application Client. The following tutorial shows how to create a J2EE Application Client using the non-J2EE Java class you have written.

The article talks about accessing EJBs from a J2EE App. Client.. but since you only want to access the DataSource, just skip all the screens until it asks you to register the JNDI DataSource resources...

I am trying to print clothing patterns on my printer and they must be in PDF format. I was told I needed Adobe Reader, a FileOpen plug-in, and finally Firefox Plug-in. I downloaded all of this and I still cannot open anything in PDF format. Thank you Bonita Rainey

call the same smartform(Function generated from smartform) in your bsp application, get the otf outof it, convert that to pdf and show it. follow your previous thread and check the blog mentioned there.

Alright, so about a month ago, I was working on the computer and I noticed this pixel pattern across certain elements of the GUI. It was on and around the Spotlight button at the top, on the icons in the dock, on the menu pulldowns from the top, but not on quicktime movies, or just random other stuff... Quartz screen savers just looked jumbled. Then it just froze. So I manually restarted... same pixel pattern and a freeze. I Restarted and it didn't do anything bad for 3 days... I even put it to sleep and everything like normal and nothing bad happened. A few days later... same thing happened, and it froze a few times. This time I ran the hardware test and I got no errors, and after that it was fine. Both times it happened in the middle of the night.
Then it went a month without messing up. About a week ago however, (in the afternoon this time) it froze after coming back from sleep. Then I restarted... froze immediately. I restarted again... froze again. I ran hardware test, and it came back with a Video RAM error "2ATI/1/4: 113-xxxxx-113." (I've seen this error several times on the forums, maybe something apple needs to address...) then after that I could restart it and use it, but it had that hazy pixel pattern on certain elements or the GUI... and eventually it would freeze. Most days it lasts several hours though. Sometimes (like right now) when I start up everything looks fine, and I can use it for several hours before it eventually freezes. Just now I got curious and decided to run the hardware test... and everything was A-OK. So I don't know what the deal is. Oh, and when it freezes I can still here music and any other noise it was making, and I can move the mouse, which turns into a SBBOD. I've reset every ram chip in this computer (PRAM, NVRAM, ran [reset or restore]-all OF) Any guesses? Solutions? Questions?

Which "model" & generation G5 iMac do you have?
Need this info so that the knowledgeable users can provide you with the proper troubleshooting solution(s).
