Cloud Environment

Hy Friends,
I would like to hear from you if I'm saying the right thing.
Imagine a cloud Environment, where I got a unique instance with hundreds of customer. Instead of creating hundreds of schemas and updating hundreds of tables for a system change, a time ago I have read about a feature that Oracle has that maps that user belongs to taht layer of data. something like that, that enables me to create just one schema.
Does anyone know about a feature like that in Oracle?
Tks for any help.

I don't think you're talking about cloud computing, which makes your subject a bit confusing.
I'm guessing that you are thinking of [virtual private database (VPD)|http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/04-mar/o24tech_security.html]

iPhone Local Storage "My iPhone" - How do you create this folder for use by the Notes app on a iPhone or iPad?  If I want to keep some notes only on my device and not in a cloud environment associated with an e-mail account.  I've seen reference to the  "My iPhone" local storage put no mention on how you create this folder or access this folder within the Notes app.  I realize storing information in a local storage like this provides no syncing between other iDevices but that is exactly what I'm looking for.  I'm running iOS7.0.4 on a iPhone 5S, and a iPad Air.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you go to Settings > Notes > Default Account you will see "On My iPhone" as the default account and the only choice if you have not enabled syncing Notes in Settings >iCloud or Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If you have enabled syncing you can still select "On My iPhone" as the default account. When you are in the Notes app you won't see any accounts listed if you have not enabled syncing because they are all in the On My iPhone account and that is the only place possible. It is not a folder that you create.

  • Is it possible to use the OWB in a cloud environment?

We are examining the possibility to move a DW into a cloud environment. We are using OWB for our ETL process. Is there anyone who has experience of running a data warehouse in a cloud environment?

There might be a way, but I would guess that it would involve using some sort of third-party software. It would get a bit difficult if you would need to define primary and secondary audio - especially if you need to switch. In addition, I'm not sure what kind of playback software you would be using.
If there's some way to define primary and secondary audio, you might be able to use something as simple as a USB or Bluetooth headset/headphones. There are some nicer Bluetooth headphones on the market.

  • Destination creation problem in Cloud Environment

    Hello,
I am having a problem with the creation of a destination (hana.ondemand.com) - Import from File method.
The destination I am creating has a password that looks like this: 0!8)^(mH3p*V2>p
When I used this destination I got a 401 error from the server I was trying to connect to.
This doesn't happen on a local server (SDK 1.51.16), and when I edit the destination -> password the issue is fixed.
I am guessing that the special characters used in this password falls under some escaping rules that were changes in the Import from File feature.
This file was used to create a destination in the past (multiple times) without any problems - so this is a new bug.
How can I create a bug for this?
Do I need to add escaping characters to my password?
    Thanks,
    -Eran Bergman

    Hi Timo,
The destination is indeed created, but when I use the destination API for getting a HttpClient based on the destination I get an authentication error from the remote server I am connecting to.
If I would edit the destination and copy+paste the password (the exact same one from the imported file) I don't get the authentication error anymore.
From the cockpit you can't really see the exact content of the destination's password, so I can't know for sure how it was created from the file import, but in this case it doesn't work properly.
My guess is some form of escaping problem in the import process.
This (import destination) problem does not happen on a local server (SDK 1.51.16), just on the cloud environment, which is much harder to debug of course...

  • SQL Developer in the cloud environment

    Hi,
I installed SQL developer as an Administrator in the cloud environment and it is working fine. I also have an user and granted Administrator privs to him ,a nd copied the SQL developer exe to his desktop, but when he runs it SQL developer does not even open, how to fix it?

    What "cloud environment"?

How on earth is this cloud based? You physically copying an executable from a server to a client machine is NOT what cloud computing is about. There is NOTHING cloud-like about it. This is STANDARD copy-software, install-software-on-client and execute-software-on-client approach. This is not SAAS.
-- Might as well be not a cloud computing thing, but my scenario is SQL developer is installed in the Administrator space and when logged in etc., i works fine there. When the same exe is copied to an user with admin rights he is not able to open the application. My goal is, so the user also is able to run SQL developer remotely logging in and run it. He is also running Windows 7.
Or lacks the proper JDK/JRE on the client to run.
-- This could be closer to solving the issue, in the user space we do not have JDK/JRE installed, so do we have to install JDK/JRE in the user login space as well? My initial thought was since I copied the exe from teh admin to the user, he should be automatically able to do the same stuff as admin.Basic prinicple of computing. Not all .exe files are standalone executable. Some require 'other libraries' to run.

  • In Cloud environment, do we still need to do an implementation?

    Hi,
When we talk about cloud environment for Oracle Fusion Application, I am bit confused. Do we still need to do implementation on Oracle cloud or we can only subscribe to the services oracle provides?
If we can not perform an implementation, how the data which resides in current Oracle EBS will be visible in Fusion?
Also, is there any upgrade path available to upgrade from Oracle EBS to Fusion?

  • RDP access and licenses in cloud environment

friends i am trying to understand couple of things from licensing and access to virtual cloud server in a hoster environment and want to get your views if we are doing this correct or there is better way to do this.
    1. we give windows based virtual cloud server to your clients. and most of the time they want to have RDP to this server with multi people sessions at a time. so do i have to configure terminal service on each VM which we provide to client or is there a
better way.. because think of this scenario if client starts with 10 CALs today and i take the license from Microsoft then in some time if they increase, it will be a problem for client to give the access to their VM to again install the extra RDP cals.
    2. I am not sure if this can be answered here.. what is the right way to get the TS license from a SPLA point of view.. currently i have to call microsoft licensing team each time we get a client who wants RDP access but i knw this is not the right way i
guess..so whats the right way of doing this..
is there a way that all the VMs which we provide to our client can already have RDP access with unlimited user sessions because what i have seen with other cloud providers they dont have this issue of sessions we can have unlimited people doing RDP so definitely
i am doing some mistake somewhere. please if someone can share the right way.
    Thanks

    Hi Jatin,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
To enable more than 2 simultaneous sessions you will need to purchase RDS Subscriber Access Licenses (SALs) through the Microsoft Services Provider Licensing Agreement (SPLA) for each user or device that will access your solution on Windows Azure.

  • Store Asymmetric Key Container In Load Balanced Cloud Environment

I've been tasked with signing some data with the
RSACryptoServiceProvider.SignData() Method. In order to generate the public and private key i've used the RSACryptoServiceProvider and passed a keycontainername in order to store the keys safely.
When i run the MSDN example
to generate a set of public/private keys on my machine with the fixed keycontainername, the expected public / private keys are generated every time the same.
This will work fine on a single server environment, however, we are operating on an elastic environment where the servers are load balanced. If i encrypt the data with a private key on any one single machine and store this data in through the RSACryptoServiceProvider
the data will only exist at the machine level. Each machine will use a different key to sign the data and the user of the public key won't be able to verify the signature.
Is it that important that i use the RSACryptoServiceProvider to store the private key, the example is explicit in that i should never store the key in a text file but why is this more of a risk than storing the keycontainername in a text file?
    Thanks
    Aaron

Yes, It is important. Per my understanding, there is a X509Certificate2 class to create RSACryptoServiceProvider to get a private key. The certificate and private key itself would be kept in the
Windows certificate store. You can then limit access to the private key through the certificate store to certain accounts.

  • Process Orchestration in the Cloud?

    Hi all,
I'd like to have a SAP NW Process Orchestration on a Cloud environment (thus: BPM + AEX).
If that's not possible, it would be good to have a SAP NW BPM, still on a Cloud environment.
After thorough research I found out that:
Hana Cloud Integration (HCI) has no specific BPM capability, as it is more similar to a Process Integration (PI)
Hana Enterprise Cloud offering does not include any BPM feature
Hana Cloud Platform has no BPM tool
The link at Try SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration in Public Cloud! is only about trial/demo systems.
I'd be interested to know how to get a PO or a BPM environment on Cloud.
Can anyone please share which the available options are?
Of course, please feel free also to correct any misunderstanding in the list above.
    Thanks a lot
    Regards
    Vincenzo

    Hi Vincenzo,
there is a Process Orchestration / BPM offering available as Trial or as production ready system available in SAP Cloud Appliance Library - http://cal.sap.com

  • Queries on Fusion P2P (on cloud) and Oracle GL (on premise) coexistence

I have a few queries around co-existence model e.g Fusion P2P on Cloud with R12 GL on premise.
In the Oracle Enterprise Repository (OER) , there is a scenario for coexistence solution of Fusion P2P (on cloud) with Oracle GL  (on premise). Assuming P2P is on a SaaS solution, i am  looking for specific guidance around the following ..
    1. What are the incremental steps / activities needed to connect the SaaS P2P environment with on-premise R12 environment?  Is there any Oracle document that talks about these steps ?
    2. Assuming that there is no change to the Legal Entities, Ledger and COA as existing in the on-premise environment; how will these common setups become available in the SaaS P2P environment. Same for employees defined in HRMS software. Does this need additional configuration activities (outside of the Procurement and Payables configuration) to be done in SaaS environment ?
    3. Should there be a need to have a  new ledger and/or BU for this Fusion P2P process , does this Ledger / BU need to be defined on the Cloud environment or on the on premise environment ?
    4. In the Oracle packaged coexistence model for Cloud P2P with on premise GL -  is Cash Management considered to be part of Cloud or on premise environment? The swimlane process in OER does not show Cash Management module ..
    Thank You !!

    Hi Vladimir,
the clickjacking protection you mentioned is indeed in place, but it is meant to prevent the embedding of Fusion Apps (incl. Sales Cloud) UIs into iFrames.
Your scenario seems to be the other way around: you want to embed content into an iFrame provided by Sales Cloud, right?  In that case, the clickjacking protection of the embedded UI served by OBIEE comes into play.  And since it's on premises, you hopefully have control over it (though I don't know how you control it since I am not an OBIEE expert).  The way I typically test whether a page can be successfully iFramed is by building a very simple static html page hosted on a server somewhere, with its primary content being an iFrame for the desired page.
For further reference, I wrote about iFrame issues on our blog: http://blogs.oracle.com/fadevrel/entry/troubleshooting_embedded_web_content

  • Seeking advice on SAP/cloud

    Hello all,
Will be doing proof-of-concept on SAP on cloud, installing ERP and seeking advice/feedback.
Based on the criteria of easier installation and faster delivery (and of course success story), what will be the recommended combination of platform (LINUX, Windows) and database (Oracle, MS SQL, MAXDB, DB2).
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Terry

There are lots of  documents in SDN and other forums which will give much better idea ... but these are my observation
Installation - Once you have gone past the access process to the cloud environment, after that you can hardly differentiate whether you are on doing a install on cloud or non-cloud. Though definately the time to get the infrastructure for install is much faster.
Windows or Linux - I would put it as windows or Unix, not sure how many providers offer other flavors of Unix apart from Linux. But obviously the Product itself to some extent will govern what you choose, as has been the case in non-cloud env.
Database - Again have seen Oracle and DB2 being mostly used. Not sure why, may be stuff like doing system refresh in 15 min ,  etc  are easier to achieve with products like Oracle and DB2.
    Regards,
    Neel
I dont have any exposure to windows on cloud. So i am not aware of specific positives it might have in cloud.
