How to copy a Specific Font Style from one instance to another?

I am using RoboHelp HTML V.7.
I need to change multiple instances of one style to another. Is there a way to assign a specific font style from one instance of the style to another location (like MS Word style painter), or add the specific style to a shortcut key, or add the specific style the toolbar, or any other suggestions which may expedite my plight?

Identify the "class=MyStyle" string in the MTML code, and use the Multi-File Find and Replace feature to step through each topic and change the specific instances to "class=MyOtherStyle." (I doubt that you'll want to "Replace All".)

How can i load a specific CSS style sheet for Safari?

Okay, So I have some structure issues when viewing my website on Safari compared to Firefox. Is there a way to put a code in the <head> tag to load a specific CSS style sheet for Safari like you can do with IE?

I took a screenshot of your page from Firefox (shown below). I assume you're seeing the same problem in Safari. If you increase text size one click, the keyboard image drops below the #contact division.
1) Height is a restiction in all browsers except IE. Avoid using height values on containers with text in them. If needed to show a background image, use the min-height property.
2) Fix your code errors. Some browsers are very sensitive to errors.
3) Your #content lacks cohesion. You need 3 columns, each with a width in pixels. Or simply use a 3-column table.

How do I preset a title text style in Final Cut Pro X?

I want to use the same title stye again and again in Final Cut Pro X - font size, style, color.
Final Cut Pro is happy to have me "Save a Preset to Library", but then I never see it again. When I go to the dropdown menu, all I get is Apple's list of truly hideous fonts like 80s, Aqua Fade, Candy, etc.
I save my favorite style as "Basic" and that does nothing either - as soon as I add a new title and apply the "Basic" setting I get Apple's horrible Gil Sans again. What's going on?
Any tips on how to perform what should be a very simple operation? Have spent more than an hour on this now.

How do I apply a specific character style to specific text?

Long-time Photoshop and Illustrator user. New to Indesign.
Fortunately, this isn't an issue of how to go about creating fractions. I've already chosen a route for that. I'm simply applying a Character Style that checks the opentype "fractions" box.
Here's an example of the content I'm dealing with:
Above is my styled table in Indesign, after pasting in data I'm being given data in excel spreadsheets.
How might I quickly apply my "ptable_BODY FRACTIONS" style to only certain text, like: "1/2" + "1/4" + "1/8" & preferably random arbitrary fractions like "34/69"?
GREP can do some great things, but can it selectively apply character styles?
This might be a job for a paragraph style. I'm not sure. . .

That's exactly what the GREP Styles feature does. Arriving at a GREP expression that accurately targets your fractions may be another matter considering your screen shot shows your content to have no space between whole numbers and fractions.
Right. It keeps including the whole number preceding the fraction.
I'm dead set on there not being a space between the whole number and fraction, too.
I'm trying to figure out how to tell Indesign to take all fractions and give them opentype fractions settings.
I'll only be dealing with standard fractions I'm hoping, so arbitrary fractions shouldn't be necessary.
Just halves, quarters, eighths, and sixteenths should be ok. These are likely the only fractions I'll ever need to deal with: 1/2, 1/4, 3/4, 1/8, 3/8, 5/8, 7/8, 1/16, 3/16, 5/16, 7/16, 9/16, 11/16, 13/16, 15/16.

How do I change language-specific font fallback preferences?

My MacBook's default fonts for viewing content in the Malayalam script/language seem to be Malayalam MN and Malayalam Sangam MN -- not surprisingly, since those are the default Malayalam fonts that come with the OS. However, both of those fonts are missing a lot of conjuncts/ligatures. There are some free fonts that do have the missing characters, so I'd like to put them at the top of whatever preference list the OS is using to decide which fonts to choose. Does anybody know how I can do that?

I tried your suggestions. Disabling the Apple-provided fonts didn't seem to do anything, and moving them to the trash transformed the Thiruvananthapuram page I linked above into a sea of placeholder characters. So I put them back and tried editing the preference list. I inserted Anjali Old Lipi above Malayalam Sangam MN, and I also inserted Rachana (another free font available from the Kerala government site above) above Malayalam MN. Then I restarted.
At first I thought it hadn't worked, because the body of the Thiruvananthapuram page looked exactly the same. But then I noticed that the page title, up in the top edge of the window, was displaying the characters I wanted. And when I tried copying some text and pasting it into TextEdit, it appeared in either Anjali (when I pasted into a plain text document) or Rachana (in rich text). Finally it dawned on me that I needed to adjust my Firefox preferences too, and that did the trick. Probably I wouldn't have needed to edit the preference list if I'd thought of changing my Firefox preferences earlier, but I'm glad to have learned how to make the change systemwide.
Slightly off-topic: I've read that acceptance of the 1970s reforms has been less than universal, and in the process of finding those alternate fonts I noticed that a different fork of Anjali has actually had some of the conjuncts removed. If you happen to know, I'd be curious: Just how much of a free-for-all is Malayalam spelling today?

How can I access a specific font face contained within a TTF font file?

I want to access "Avenir Medium", which is one of 12 faces contained within the font file named "Avenir.ttf".
CSS allows me to specify the font file (src:...), the family name (fontFamily), and the weight (fontWeight).
The file, of course, is the same for every face within the TTF file, so that doesn't help.
The family is Avenir. Am I supposed to use some version of "Avenir Medium" in the fontFamily param? Nothing I've tried has worked.
The weight is Medium, but that is not an option for the CSS param fontWeight, so this does not seem to be the way to do it.
In Photoshop the font is accessed via the Family pull-down (Avenir) and the Syle pull-down (Medium).
I have not found a way to split the TTF file into separate files for each face, though that would seem to be the simplest solution.

Hp deskjet 1510 does not print when choosing specific font style

Hi Guys,
I just bought hp deskjet 1510 and installed the driveres via the CR came with.
- I use Windows 7
- Have Microsoft Office 2010
My issue is as the following:
When typing a document and chose font type "Adobe Arabic" then click on print, the printer power light will only blink and no paper is printed! When changing the font to other type then the printer will print out the paper.
Is it something can be fixed? it is not critical choosing this spcific font type for me but would be lovely if someone know how to fix this.

Thank you for answering my question, and trying the HP Print and Scan Doctor. Sorry it did not work for you, I do have some more suggestions to try:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Make sure the firewall is disabled. Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
Make sure antivirus is disabled. Disable antivirus software.
Re-install the software using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

MS Word crash when exporting to PDF, and font style is bold

If i try to convert a doc file to PDF from Microsoft Word using fonts like Times New Roman, everything works fine; by using a font like Myriad Pro, Minion pro, etc. if i use even a single word in BOLD style, with other plain text, during export Word crashes, faulting in module pscript5.dll.
Any information about this problem?

I certainly don't work for Adobe, so this is only a GENERAL comment, based on many years experience with many different programs from several vendors
When a program goes from 8.0 to 8.1 it is usually bug fixes but no major changes to the actual source code
When a program goes from 7.0 to 8.0 that usually indicates major changes in function AND in the source code to create the program
As an application programmer (used to be COBOL, now in a different job and use MS Access) I know that any program with more than a few hundred lines of source code WILL have problems
When you consider that Acrobat is most likely written in C/C++ and will most likely have MANY thousands of lines of source code... it is not at all surprising that it went from 8.0 to 8.1.0 to 8.1.1
It would not surprise me at all if Acrobat's routines for checking and using fonts had changes in that part of the source code... and IF that happened it MAY be that font handling is either "stricter" and that leads to "catching" a font that is "marginal" in operation... or that the error trapping routine changed and is causing a problem
I personally have no idea if a corrupt font is your problem, but it does not surprise me at all that a 7.0 to 8.0 program change COULD introduce changes in the way fonts are processed

How I choose a specific font?

I have only just started using Edge on occasion so don't berate me if this is really obvious but how do I choose a specific font to use?
When I add a font it lists it as a font family e.g. "Georgia, Times New Roman, serif" and it automatically sets it to a specific font and I can't select the font I want. This is also an issue with web fonts where it uses the system font rather than my custom web font. I'm trying to use a cursive type of font. I had the same issue when using Dreamweaver but Photoshop does not work this way.

Once you've added a web font (last item in the fonts menu, or + button to its right), it appears in the Fonts section of your Library (here Quattrocento Sans) :
Then, you can apply this font to any text element by selecting this new item in the menu :

I'm using InDesign CS3 and need to discover all of the available styles for any given font. I've found Application.Fonts.itemByName(), but this only returns a single font by the full name. Using ExtentScript in CS3 How can I ask for ALL font styles for any given font family (as displayed in the styles drop-down?)

How do i download a new font from the web then add it so i can use it freely in 'word'?

I am having terrible difficulty using a font that i down loaded on to my macbook pro. I can see it in my font book but no matter what i do it does not appear in my 'Word' font library. Its in Font Book but it seems set to stay there and do nothing. Im tearing my hair out here! In simple simple simple terms can anybody give me step by step info on how to down load a new font then get it so it can be used just like all the pre list fonts?

I just tried what you suggested and while it works I'm looking for something like what a Word doc shows, where at the bottom of the screen you see - Pages: 1 of 37 (it's to the left of where a Word doc shows - Words: 7 of 9024).
I recently switched to Pages and want to start using it all the time and get rid of Word.

WRT54GL V 1.1 : how to reserve IP for specific MAC address using DHCP

My !free! made in China router have this functionality. And yet I have been banging my head with this new reasonably expensive wireless router from Linksys. Anyway I lug my notebook around. I need my home router to be able to automatically configure notebook IP address using DHCP. At the same time I need the ip given by home router through DHCP to be the same IP all the time. So "static" ip is not the solution. Alternative "static" ip is also not a solution. Anything with the word "static" in it is not a solution. I know about third party firmware (wrt or tomato) and I know WRT54GL can be flashed with this third party firware. But I'm not going to void my warranty. This will be my last option but not the solution that I seek. I would like to know how to reserve ip for specific mac address using DHCP for WRT54GL V1.1. If this version have no way to make such configuration, I would like to know if there is official firmware upgrade that address this. Thanks in advance!
