Cluster error message ????
I am running 2 WL servers in a cluster on two separate SUN Solaris
machines not using a shared file system and using NES plugin. The
properties file are exactly the same. The cluster comes up ok. I am
using a simple counter servlet to test the clustering. First time the
primary server updates seconday just fine.
I take the primary down and reload the servlet a few times. Things work
fine with the message
<RepMan> updateSecondary called on unpaired primary
Then I bring back the primary server that I had killed. Try to reload
the servlet. I get the following messages
"<RepMan> getRepMan unable to obtain ReplicationManager (for
id+ipaddress - where id is WL generated appended to IP of the machine).
.[7001,7001,7002,7002,-1] " in the new primary server.
"Unable to to create secondary for (id - WL generated id for the
server)"
Has anyone come across these messages in their logs when running a WL
cluster (http session) on separate boxes w/o a shared file system???
I have tested multicast and seems to be ok for both machines. I have
added 3rd machine in cluster and I still get the same results.
Prasad,
I did not see any comments on in-memory replication related issues in SP7.
Do you have any information on when should we expect a service pack dealing
with these issues.
Thanks
Vlad

Compressor Cluster - Error message when attaching .scc caption files
Hello,
We have a 3 XServer Cluster controlled by a 4'th XServer (Our FCServer machine). My workflow is:
Source Video: 1920X1080 ProRes Video (28:30min)
Resized to 640X360 ProRes LT (also de interlaced and some black restore and sharpening applied here)
Encoded 640X360 to H.264 at 750Kb.Sec - .scc files defines in "Additional Information" tab in Compressor at this point.
This job is submitted to the cluster. My submitting machine as well as all cluster machines are all connected to the same fiber network. All files are on the same XSAN.
I am getting the following error message. I get it after it has tried to encode the video:
Status: Failed - 5x HOST [fcsqm2.local] error: Failed to add CC to movie: -50
note: fcsqm2 is one of the encoding machines in the cluster.
I can't seem to find any answers via google. Anyone got any suggestions where I can look? Any ideas?
Thanks a lot!
Nathan{Ctrl + Shft + J} - any messages in the Error Console, relating to that?

Just updated to 3.6.8. Now can't navigate reliably. Frequently get this error message: "Server Error in '/' Application. Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster." Pending fix of this glitch, is there a way to go back to previous version of Firefox that worked perfectly well?

According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you deleted columns in SharePoint 2010.
Please add the following string in <system.web> section of your web.config file :
<pages validateRequest="false" enableEventValidation="false" viewStateEncryptionMode ="Never" />
Note: before changing web.config, please make a backup for the file.

The error is saying that there might a communication issue with CBS to CMS. That's the reson the imported SCA version is not available in the current system to assemble. The NWDI restart may work some times.

How to display the error message during the web dynpro application runtime
hi,
I'm a java developer,During i 'deploy and run ' a web dynpro application on server-1,if the application have some runtime errors. there are displayed many infomation about the runtime error, such as exception track, etc.
But when i do the same on server-2,there just show something like:
500 Internal Server Error
SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.00/Java AS 7.00
Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator.
but the server-1 will stop the j2ee engine.
how can do i make server-2 show detail error message as server-1. when i debug web dynpro application need these infomation.
Appreciate your inputs...
(Note:server-1 and server-2 have same software version)
Edited by: BingLin Zhong on Feb 18, 2008 2:13 AMThe Sap-Notes 962319:
1. Check in the Visual Administrator, "Licensing Adapter" -> "General" -> "SystemType" !
If it is set to "DEVELOPMENT_MODE", verbose error messages are shown.
If it is undefined, proceed with the next step.
If it is set to something else, only exception IDs are shown. In this case the only chance is to search for this exception ID in the default traces.
2. If the system type is undefined, then in the Config Tool "Configurations" -> "webdynpro" -> "sap.com" -> "tcwddispwda" -> "Propertysheet default" -> "DevelopmentMode" is evaluated. If it is "true", verbose error messages are shown.
3. If verbose error messages are required but still the short version is shown, you probably face an error message that is not raised by Web Dynpro but by other components of the NetWeaver. In the Visual Administrator set "Properties" -> "HTTP Provider" -> "DetailedErrorResponse" to "true".
4. In addition to the error page shown in the browser or client, important messages - including error messages and stack traces - are written to the log and trace files, e.g. to the default traces usr\sap\<SID>\<instance>\j2ee\cluster\server<number>\log\defaulttrace.trc.<number>.
a) In some cases, when an exception ID is included in the error message, the detailed error message can easily be retrieved in the log file.
b) When no exception ID is given, you have to search for the detailed error message in the log specifying time stamp and/or user ID.
Always consider restarting the system after making changes on the settings.
It is not recommended to switch the "SystemType" to an inappropriate value just for viewing verbose error messages. The system type potentially affects framework, applications and licensing in an perhaps unintended way.
In the past there was no distinction between different system types regarding error messages. For security reasons this distiction has been introduced. It is not intended to show stack traces in non-development systems in the future. SAP does not provide workarounds or patches to enable such a behaviour again. -
RAR: Error message while running role risk analysis.
Hi All,
We are implementing RAR 5.3. When running permission level risk analysis we get the following error message:
"Error while executing the Job:Cannot assign a blank-padded string to host variable 1.u201D
This happens only at permission level for just one single role and for all the composite roles that contain this one.
The rules were generated without any issue and we cannot find anything unusual on that particular single role.
Any ideas of what could be the cause of this error?Hi Iliya:

Error message "VI is not executable"! Need help with Application Builder
Hello,
I have a problem with an application, built with the Application Builder. I have read some threads about the problem I have, but I still don't know a solution.
When I run my front panel from LabVIEW, everything is good. So, now I created an application (and an installer) to be able to run it on other PCs as well. This application does not work. Everytime I start it on my PC, I get the error "VI is not executable. ...". I read in several forums solutions for this error, but I cannot fix it! I've changed my properties for the builder, but with no success. Perhaps, anybody has more ideas, what's the problem.
To get a better idea from my project, here a little description of it:
In the block diagram there is a while loop which is continuously runned. In this loop I only set some properties for the layout of the front panel, such as decorations which will be hidden/shown and changes of colours of indicators... For the rest, it waits for a click on the button "Start" in the front panel. After that, a DLL is called to communicate with a USB device. Some measurements are carried out and the DLL is closed. I hope, you can get a global idea from my block diagram...
I use LabVIEW 8.5, the DLL is a third-party DLL, which we wrote on our own. But I think the DLL works properly, if it is called from a C# application it works and it works, too, by calling it from LabVIEW when I am in development mode.
It's a project for university and I'm just a beginner in LabVIEW, so I don't have so much experiences in it, but I think i improved my knowlegde about LabVIEW very well in the last weeks!
So, i hope to get an answer soon (the deadline for the project is not soooo far away )
If you need more information, please let it know...
I would be very grateful if there is someone with a working solution...
Kind regards from the Netherlands,
SebastianSebastian,
Your architecture makes it very difficult to debug this and other problems. Does the error message mention which VI is causing the problem? It is very important to wire your error clusters everywhere. In LabVIEW, when a node throws an error (Error.Status = T), future nodes do not execute. At the end, place an error cluster indicator that you can see on your front panel. When an error posts, you can right click the indicator (even in a compiled application) and select "Explain Error".
This is a start, but you really need to push this into a queued-state machine before this gets any more complicated. As it were, if anything in your loop hangs, your whole application hangs. See attached for a queued-message handler (not advisable for actual applications, but you get the point. You would want to have a type defined enum in lieu of strings, and shared data between states differently, etc.)

System Exec error message help
I have a piece of code as shown in the attached jpg. And I have it deployed just as shown, without the error cluster being wired. I use this piece of code to ping a server to see if it's there, meaning to see if it responds with a correct ping response. If so, I then move forward with writing a data file to that server that I write every half hour for days or weeks at a time. If the ping response is not correct, I simply go on and return one half hour later with even a larger (appended) data file to write. My main intent is to not have my code sit and wait, trying to write a file to a server that might not be there...
I've used this same code and technique for years without fail. Until recently. When it did finally fail, I got the worst of all possible outcomes where the ping command itself caused my code to hang with error messages I will provide shortly. And I'm hoping someone can tell me what would even cause a message like those below in the first place... The entire goal of using this ping of the server was to avoid having the "write file" command get held hostage by the server not being there... But if the ping command itself causes the code to put up error messages (and no one is there to monitor this typically) then that constitutes a situation where my cure became my problem.
See in the jpg where I use
ping -w 200 -n 1
followed by the name or IP address of the server. (that's what comes out of the "ping" control you see in the jpg).
The -w 200 modifier is a 200 ms timeout to wait.
The -n 1 is the number (1) of echo requests to send.
When this code fails, it puts up, in sequence, four messages like the one below. Note that this code is running from an executable that would be found on this Windows XP machine at
C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxuser\My Documents\my_executables\
The first of the four messages, each of which you have to click OK to to see the next one, is as follows.
The file C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxuser\My Documents\my_executables\-w could not be opened. No application was found to open that type of file
The second message is identical to the above except the "-w" is replaced by "200" (without the quotes).
Same with the third message except the "200" is now replaced by "1" (without the quotes).
Same again with the fourth message except the "1" is now replaced by the full name of the server, eg., "myserver.abc.com" (without the quotes).
Clearly the System Exec.vi (see that in jpg) is parsing up the ping command, but skipping over the "-n" component(???), and it thinks it's supposed to try to open some non-existent file at the same file location as the executable that is executing my code.
I get this result rarely so it's hard to figure out what's going on. Anyone have any ideas what might cause such an error and any hints on how to prevent this show stopping error from occurring??? Do I perhaps just need to practice better programming and wire the error cluster on System Exec.vi???
Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated... thanks.. bob..

ping pic.jpg 19 KBIt appears to me that your ping command is getting mangled on its way to the command shell, like something is interrupting it or trying to run at the same time.
When it says the executable cannot be opened, I believe that is because it's trying to process that character or string as its own separate command, instead of as a flag of your ping command.
I don't know why that would happen or what outside program could be interfering with your call to the command shell.
I do think that Wart's suggestion is a good one: the cmd /c part should send the command through a slightly different channel that may preven this interference.

Error message in RSRD_LOG when broadcasting
Hi Gurus,
i have a failure since i scheduled additional reports. The error log tells me:
Java system error: Exception in method processFunction.
Message no. RSBOLAP018
Diagnosis
An error occurred in the BI components on the SAP J2EE Engine.
Procedure
Contact your system administrator to have the error analyzed in detail.
Java system error: Exception in method processFunction.
Message no. RSBOLAP018
Diagnosis
An error occurred in the BI components on the SAP J2EE Engine.
Procedure
Contact your system administrator to have the error analyzed in detail.
Procedure for System Administration
Start the Visual Administrator, log on to the SAP J2EE Engine and choose "<J2EE_SID>" ->"Server" -> "Services" -> "Log Viewer".
The file "defaultTrace.trc" includes detailed information about the error that occurred. In Windows, you can find this file in the Log Viewer under "Cluster <computer name>" -> "Server <server number>" -> "<drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<INSTANCE>\j2ee\cluster\server<NUMBER>\log". ". In Unix, the file is located under "/usr/sap/<SID>/JC<INSTANCE>/j2ee/cluster/server<NUMBER>/log".
If the file does not include enough detail about the error, you can increase the log level to obtain more information. To do this, choose "<J2EE_SID>" -> "Server" -> "Services" -> "Log Configurator". On the "Locations" tab page, choose "com" -> "sap" -> "ip" -> "bi" -> "webapplications". Using the selection list on the right side of the screen, you can increase the log level, whereby "DEBUG" represents the log level with the most information. You can save your settings by choosing the "Save" icon. The change to the log level is active immediately. Once you have successfully analyzed the error, you should set the log level back to its default value using the appropriate pushbutton; continuous writing to the log file negatively affects the overall performance of the system.
Is somebody familiar with this error message. Can anyone help me?
Thanks and kind regards,
MuratHello Murat,
How are you? It seems you are having problems with Java X ABAP communication. (error RSBOLAP018)
Well, follow the instructions of note 937697 - VERSION 82.
