Cluster hardware swap problem

Need some assistance. I have 2 Ironport in a  cluster running. I need to swap hardware one at a time. One device is already disconnected form the cluster. I download the config and uploaded to the new hardware but i always get an error while uploading config to new hardware. Any assistance will be very appreciated.
FYI. new hardware is running the same code as the old hadrware being swapped out

Indeed there is, it's the appliance's serial number. You can see it in the config file, where machine-specific settings are in sections identified by each unit's serial number.
Ken's remedy is spot on: remove the old unit from the cluster, give the new one just enough of a config for it to use the network, and join it to the cluster. It will inherit all its other settings from the cluster. If there are any machine-specific settings beyond the normal stuff like host names and IP addresses, then you'll need to add then back manually. I've done this many times, both for replacing failed hardware (fortunately a rare occurrence), and for bringing new units online. Fortunately, all our settings beyond the must-be-local parts are defined at the cluster level.
It's worth pointing out that removing one node from a two-node cluster does not cause the cluster to cease to exist. It's perfectly reasonable for a cluster to have only one member.

  • Hardware Configuration Problem

I've installed Windows XP partitioned on my other macs, but I'm having problems on my Mac Pro. Can anyone help with a solution, please? I have a four hard disc set up on my mac pro. The first disc is the one partitioned with my 10.6 boot on the same disc.
Using Boot Camp with Snow Leopard installed, all goes well after partitioning. It installs Windows Xp from the disc, yet when it restarts, I get a black screen with a message as follows:
"Windows could not start because of a computer disc hardware configuration problem.
Could not read from the selected boot disc. Check boot path and disk hardware.
    Please check windows documentation...."
As I wrote above, as it restarts ready to load xp, it come up with the message above. And of-course, I cannot load the rest of the drivers from the 10.6 install disc.
    Help, please.

I still haven't been able to install but thanks for folks advice.
    Anyone else?
I have a internal four hard drive set up. The mac OS and Windows Bootcamp is set up on Hard Drive 1, whilst the other three are stiped with data, completely separate from the apps and windows.
The windows has to be set up on Hard Drive 1, the same disc as my mac boot drive. Using Boot Camp, it is not possible to set up xp/bootcamp on another hard drive other than an internal one.

  • Do I use same oracle account on 2 cluster nodes cause problem?

Do I use same oracle account on 2 cluster nodes cause problem?
If I use same oracle account on 2 cluster nodes running 2 database, when failover happens, 2 database will be running on one node, does 2 oracle account make SHM ... memory conflict?
or do I have to use oracle01 account on node1, oracle02 account on node2? Can not use same name account?
    Thanks.

I'm not 100% certain I understood the question, so I'll rephrase them and answer them.
    Q. If I have the same Oracle account on each cluster node, e.g. uid=100 (oracle) gid=100 (oinstall), groups dba=200, can I run two databases, one on each cluster node without problems?
    A. Yes. Having multiple DBs on one node is not a problem and doesn't cause shared memory problems. Obviously each database needs a different database name and thus different SID.
    Q. Can I have two different Oracle accounts on each cluster node e.g. uid=100 (oraclea) gid=100 (oinstall), groups dba=200 and e.g. uid=300 (oracleb) gid=100 (oinstall), groups dba=200, and run two databases, one for each Oracle user?
    A. Yes. The different Oracle user names would need to be associated with different Oracle installations, i.e. Oracle HOMEs. So you might have /oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1 (oraclea) and /oracle/oracle/product/11.0.1.0/db_1 (oracleb). The ORACLE_HOME is then used to determine the Oracle user name by checking the user of the Oracle binary in the ${ORACLE_HOME}/bin directory.

  • My I5s camera hardware have problem. Can't focus, and the pictureis very fuzzy. I brought this 5s in Canada, but I use it in China. I can't get support in China to fix  my phone.

I brought my 5s last year in Canada. And take back to China to use.
few days ago, I found my camera can't focus and the picture is fuzzy .
I had call to Apple's Chinese service for check and help. After they check, they said this is the hardware 's problem.
Because  my 5s is come from Canad, so they can't help me to fix my phone.
I am in China now, what can I do about my phone?
Camera is very important to me.
    Please give me the solutio.
    thank you very much.

If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked.  I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed.  eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money.  I sell phones for a living and this happens a lot

  • Wi-Fi: No Hardware Installed Problem - Macbook Pro

After connecting Wi-Fi and surf online about 20 minutes, Wi-Fi is stop. Can not turn on and turn off. It shows "Wi-Fi: No Hardware Installed". I shut down the computer. Leave about 20 minutes. Then power on the computer. Wi-Fi is working well again. But after surfing online about 20 minutes (Especially when watching streaming movie), Wi-fi is stop again. Problem is repeating. I have tried several way to solve by reading post. No way work to solve this problem. I have faced this problem since Snow Leopard, now on Lion. Still facing problem. If somebody know how to solve, Please..

    Dear,
Had the same issue with my MBP (mid 2010) and tried everything.
The hardware test did not give any error and all kind of resets did not solved anything.
Finally, I just returned my Mac to the Apple store and got it back after 3 days and with a new WIFI card in it (and a bill of 250 €).
I'm absolutely convinced that there is a link between the upgrade to Lion and the 'broken' WIFI card but Apple keeps denying it.
So, Mr. Tint, no choice: bring your Mac to the repair shop and pay.

    Hi,
The factory reset is necessary I guess. Is there still the recovery partition (D: drive)?? If yes, press esc(ape) at startup and then F11 and follow the instructions to perform "Factory Reset". Before you do this make a list of hardware such as graphics card, wireless card, ethernet card etc. from the Device Manager to know what drivers you need from the HP website in case that the factory reset goes wrong. You could also follow this to install a fresh system which I would prefer.
    http://www.pcworld.com/article/248995/how_to_install_windows_7_without_the_disc.html
I would not recommend to upgrade the system to Windows 7 and Windows 8 is completely out of question. The lappy is too old for W8 and I don't think it will perform well even on W7 if you manage to install all drivers.

  • Apple Hardware Test problems

Hi All. I have a very weird problem here, as I can't get the Apple Hardware Test to start on my late 2008, 2.66 MBP15 inch model# MC026LL/A (released early 2009 as a quiet upgrade from 2.53). Here's the story:
I opened up my machine as usual one morning, and the optical drive made a very weird noise I never heard before. So I decided to run the Apple Hardware Test (AHT) to see if anything was amiss. Well, I inserted the second install disk, held down the "d" key, and restarted the machine. It began to boot into the hardware test, but just after the AHT screen appears the computer just shut down. This happens every time I try to run the AHT.
I went to an Apple Store while I was on holiday in Brisbane (they don't have one here in Adelaide), and the genius said it was likely a bad optical drive. Well, I returned to Adelaide last week and had the local Apple Authorized store replace the optical drive. Tried to run AHT once again, and the same problem persists. So the original problem wasn't with the optical drive.
I thought maybe I accidentally used the startup disks for my wife's late 2008 15inch, 2.4, MBP (the one actually released in late 2008). I've looked around for the other sets of disks and can't find them. So here's what I'm asking help for: can someone who owns a 15inch MBP 2.66 15-inch (released in early 2009, model# MC026LL/A ) please tell me what the part # is for their set of install disks? It is written on the plastic sleeves of the install disks. And, could this person please tell which version of AHT is written on the disk itself? The set I have (which I think might be my wife's) has AHT version 3A158.
Might this be the problem, or should my computer still be able to run the hardware test using my wife's disks? I know they are both technically late-2008 15inch unibody MBPs, but I think my 2.66 (again, quietly updated and released in early 2009) might require a different AHT version, which would explain my inability to run the test. If not, what might be causing my computer to not run the AHT? I tried reinstalling OS X to no avail.
Thanks for all of your help!

I think I share your skepticism--if your Mac was shipped with the later version of the OS, you should not have been able to do a clean install with discs of an earlier version. It looks like some machines originally shipped with OS X v. 10.5.5 and others with OS X v. 10.5.6. I don't remember just when 10.5.6 came out.
Your two machines are likely very similar in build, and maybe similar enough for the OS to install. It may be that the AHT is specifically designed for the hardware in each machine, and that would be a bit different.
As someone else said in another thread, there ought to be a tutorial on how to keep track of the original install discs since they are always getting lost. Maybe a secure note in the keychain or something like that.
Out of curiosity, does the AHT work on your wife's machine? If not, there could be a problem with the install disc itself, and if so, you might be able to get a free replacement under warranty.
    Good luck!

  • Flash Player 10.1 hardware acceleration problems

Just to join the chorus of people having problems with this, we have a custom Flash based video player which is showing behaviour that resembles packet loss when playing back streaming media, ie blocks of empty green content on the frame.
The thing is there is no packet loss. This happens in any browser running Flash 10.1, however in those same browsers if we turn hardware accelleration off in the Flash settings menu the problem goes away. All machines this is occuring on are running OS and GPU chipset combinations which are listed as being compatible with Flash 10.1 h/w accelleration.
What I'd like to know from Adobe is, will someone be identifying why this is happening? e.g. is this simply a mis-match between GPU and Flash?
Its difficult to imagine users with 10.1 installed being able or willing to either disable accelleration or even worse have to upgrade their video drivers?
    thanx in advance,
    Dean Stringer

You have correctly identified the cause of the display problems; video drivers that do not fully support hardware acceleration, and must therefore either be updated, or hardware accleration turned off.

  • IE 6 & 7 display problem (perhaps function swap problem?)

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me with this as I have scanned blog after blog and forum after forum to no avail.
I have the job of cleaning up another developer's code which does not display properly. The problem is that all is well in the world (or on this web site) except for pages that use function swap(). These pages do not display properly in IE 6 and IE7. They do display properly in IE 8, Firefox and Safari. The other pages of the site display fine in all browsers.
The header displays and then the rest of the page is displaced off to the right rather than below the header as if it is flowing out of the container somehow.
This is one of the pages that does not display properly in IE6 and IE7. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    http://traciisaly.com/work.html

You have some invalid code there that may be causing it.
With your chosen doctype, you must close paragraph elements with </p> - and do not include paragraphs within paragraphs (line 99, for instance) or tables within paragraphs (twice on your page).
    In main.css, body{}, delete zoom: 1 ;
    And in .footer{}, change
    border: 0 px;
    to
    border: 0px;
    And in .header{} add height: 46px;
I think that'll get you in the ballpark.

  • Got "wifi: no hardware installed" Problem

this problem had troubled me from 10.6 Snow Leopard to 10.7 Lion
    iMac 27" (late 2009)
    to be honest
my wifi (airport) can work just fine
    BUT
when I "restart" my iMac everytime when I needed (system upgrade or something)
and when I bak to the system
it shows "wifi: no hardware installed" on the upper right menubar
    CAN ONLY SOLVE THIS BY
choose "shutdown" , and dont even need to reset SMC or "cmd+option+P+R"
just "shutdown" the computer then press the power button
then the wifi will be back
    "Restart" >>>> NO WIFI
    "Shutdown" >>>WIFI back to normal

The Google DNS settings should be OK, humor me and change them to
    208.67.222.222
    AND
208.67.220.220  to see if there is any change. If there isn't go back to the Google settings.

  • EoS/EoL hardware report problem on LMS 3.2 RME 4.3.1

    Hi,
Trying to run EoS/EoL RME reports for the first time and having problems. I have applied latest patch for CSCte717641 and this seems to have made things a little better. Originally the hardware report simply failed, but now it seems to run, but never finish. To avoid any download problems, I have manually downloaded both the EOX_SOFTWARE.ZIP and the PSIRT_EOX_OFFLINE.txt, which I have placed into the "NMSRoot\rme\jobs\inventory\reports\EOX_PSIRT\local_xml" folder. The PSIRT file has been un-compressed and put in as .txt and the EOX file has been left as a .zip. Now the report starts running, I can see it creating a temp folder in the above folder and it seems to place two files in there eos_card and eos_device, but then it appears to delete the temp folder and the job just sits at running?
    Any advice would be appreciated

  • Cluster Disk failover problem

    Hi Everyone
I have built a Windows 2008 R2 Failover Cluster. It is scheduled to be a HyperV cluster, but I have removed HyperV from the equation as I am having problems.
Its a 2 node cluster connecting to a PS4000 via iscsi.
    Network config is
    Nic 1 - Host and Cluster Management - 10.160.19.x/24
    Nic 2 & 3 - icsci 10.160.46..x/24, MPIO,
    Nic 4 - CSV - 10.160.47/24
    Nic 5 - LiveMigration - 10.160.49.x/24
Nic6 - VMSwitch - HyperV Virtual Machine "External" nic.
The cluster ip is on 10.160.19.x.
The Cluster validation passes sucessfully and so does creating the cluster and performing post creating validations. When I simulate failures of the Quorum disk, it fails over to the second node after requisites retrys on the first node...all good.
However when I simulate failures on the second cluster disk, it just fails on the primary node. I can bring it online on same node or if I stop the cluster service on that node, everything successfully fails over to the second node. But automatic/simulating
    failover isn't working.
When I dump out the cluster log(below)this is all the entries pertaining to the failover attempt. Sorry for the log dump.
My analysis of the log, leads me in two directions, Is my nic assignment and config correct? Can I confirm the Cluster disk guids are identical between nodes?
I appreciate any assistance. Apologies on the large log.
    Thanks

Thanks Ramzan and Elden for your reply. :) :)
    Issue Faced:
we have 3 cluster server(2008 enterprise R2). The cluster server gets rebooted and failover happens frequently. As a workaround,we use to unistall Network threat component(symantec) when the issue happens.
The Cluster validation passes sucessfully for both storage and network.
I dont find any logs apart from the below.
