Clusterware Install:root.sh- Failure at final check of Oracle CRS stack. 10
Hello All,
Image: !http://systemwars.com/rac/cluster_back.jpg!
I was attempting to perform the steps in:
Link: http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g/OracleDB11gR1RACInstallationOnLinuxUsingNFS.php
The only difference is that I decided to use fedora core 12 instead. I did this because I added a second NIC card (USB) and only FC12 would recognize it. I tried to get it to work on Cent 5 but it just wouldn't. The second nic on each machine eth1 are connected via crossover cable, and the interfaces can ping each other just fine, rac1-priv and rac2-priv.
So here is my setup:
# Public
192.168.2.11 rac1.localdomain rac1
192.168.2.12 rac2.localdomain rac2
#Private
192.168.0.11 rac1-priv.localdomain rac1-priv
192.168.0.12 rac2-priv.localdomain rac2-priv
#Virtual
192.168.2.111 rac1-vip.localdomain rac1-vip
192.168.2.112 rac2-vip.localdomain rac2-vip
#NAS
192.168.2.10 mini.localdomain mini
Mini refers to my Mac mini which I decided to use as the 3rd "server" in the group. I was able to mount/read & write to the file systems just fine. As you can see.

To recover from a status 10, one must check:
check firewall / routing / iptables issues
Now I have turned iptables off completely it doesnt even start up at boot time, so I know it can't be that.

CRS-0184: Cannot communicate with the CRS daemon.
Both rac1 and rac2 get the same output above with the -vip getting !H => !H, !N, or !P (host, network or protocol unreachable), I am assuming this is normal as CRS install did not complete successfully and the virtual IP is not bound yet.
Im pretty sure I have some kind of networking issue here, but I cant put my finger on it. I have tried absolutely everything that is suggested on the internet that I could find. Even deleting the /tmp/.oracle and /var/tmp/.oracle but nothing works. Ssh keys for root and oracle users exist and Ive connected using every possible combination to avoid that first time ssh prompt so users oracle on each node goes directly into rac1/rac2 rac1-priv/rac2-priv & actual IPs as well. Any ideas?

Hello
Note 370605.1 (Clusterware Intermittently Hangs And Commands Fail With CRS-184) is telling this.
"This is caused by a cron job that cleans up the /tmp directory which also removes the Oracle socket files in /tmp/.oracle
Do not remove /tmp/.oracle or /var/tmp/.oracle or its files while Oracle Clusterware is up."

Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle Clusterware 10.2.0.1.0 in VM machines (2 nodes config) in Linux (OEL5) using VMware Server (2.0). Everything went very well one the first node upto running the root.sh. Running root.sh ended with Failure at final check of Oracle CRS stack 10 error.

CRS installation: Failure at final check of Oracle CRS stack.10
Hello,
I am trying to install Oracle RAC in 10GR2 to simulate a migration from 1024 to 11GR2. I am using VMWARE with two Linux CentOS 64b 6.2 and shared disks as raw devices. I got "Failure at final check of Oracle CRS stack.10" when running root.sh, on both nodes. The ocrcheck is fine, but I have two different IDs... which is not good and I do not understand why:
- I have shared raw devices
- the devices are the same, I checked this twice
Can anyoane help?
I thank you all in advance.Hello,
The exact error message is the one in my subject description: Failure at final check of Oracle CRS stack.10
This occurs when runing root.sh after the installation is successfull and there is no way to continue, the assistants are failing, which is logic, as the root.sh attempt to configure and run the CRS agents are not done successfully. The OCR ar ok with the same ID on both nodes, the minor in major values for the raw devices are and the firewall is disabled on both nodes. I checked the rights, they are also ok. The exact and complete return of the root.sh script is the following:
Checking to see if Oracle CRS stack is already configured
Setting the permissions on OCR backup directory

Oracle Cluster Registry configuration upgraded successfully
Successfully accumulated necessary OCR keys.

after checking (and correcting) the situtation with you raw device permission (probably you should check udev rulels), you can do the following:
as root /u01..../crs_home/crs/install/rootcrsl.pl -deconfig -force

a) The OS Messages file ( /var/adm/messages )
b) Any files with names like crsctl* under the /tmp directory
c) The client trace files under $ORA_CRS_HOME/log/<hostname>/client/*
d) The crsd and the cssd logs under $ORA_CRS_HOME/log/<hostname>/[crsd/cssd]/*

Clusterware install on HPUX 11.23 on 2node cluster (HP Integrity itanium)
We are trying to configure a two node cluster to host Oracle 10gR2 RAC environment. The servers are HP-Integrity BL-86C servers, each with two Itanium CPUs and HP-UX 11.23. There are two four network ports available, which are connected to a Gigabit virtual connect. One of them is used as the public interface for RAC and second one is used as private interconnect for RAC.
We have EVA3000 SAN. We configured two 1GB LUNs and presented both of them to both the servers. These will be used as shared raw storage for Oracle Clusterware files. On each server, we can see these raw devices under /dev/rdsk/c*. We assigned root as owner for first LUN (which is used for Cluster registry), and oracle as owner on the second LUN (which is used for voting disk). We did this on both the servers.
We set up the ssh user equivalency on both machines so that they can talk to each other using SSH and oracle userid without prompting for password, as per oracle install manual.
When we start the install, it apparently finishes successfully on the first server, but it fails on the second one saying ‘WARNING: clssnmDiskPMT: long disk latency (25031 ms) to voting disk (2//dev/rdsk/c1t1d0)”
Oracle is pointing to this error, and saying that is the disk issue. We are stuck at this point where we need to figure out if the way we are trying to use the sharing of LUNs is correct? Can we present a LUN as raw disk to two servers at the same time as shared raw device?
Also, how can we test the disk latency? I suspect that it is probably not a disk issue but shared storage issue, where first server holds the raw disks and second one can not see them.
Our unix adminstrator talked to the HP EVA specialist to figure out the 'disk latency' problem, and HP doesn't think it is an issue. But if there is anything Oracle wants to check from o/s or hw side, I can check it.
My question is, if it is voting disk issue, why does first node successfully starts all the daemons and formats Crs and voting disks successfully? We can see that in the root.sh output , and in the ocssd.log file on the first node
Is there any utility from oracle, which can check if the shared disks for ocr and vote disks are configured/accessible all right? The runcluvfy.sh which was distributed with the software DVD is buggy and doesn’t work. Oracle tech support was not able to provide any suggestions to make it work.
Please let me know if there is anybody who has done similar install successfully who can shed some light on this problem.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

How can I check to see if my version of QuickTime Pro 7.6.6 already has ProApps QuickTime Codecs installed? I also have Final Cut Pro 6. I'm asking because my computer can't seem to play ProRes 422 codec video without stuttering or skipping?
If you can view a ProRes 4-2-2 video at all, then you either have the independent ProRes422 Playback component installed or the FCP "Pro" video components installed.

Check your "~/Library/QuickTime" folder for your various "Pro" components. If in doubt that you have them all, re-run the FCP installer and it should add any missing components, apps, or utilities. -
Hi - I have a JET (jumpstart) server that I've used many times before to install various Solaris SPARC servers with - from V240's to T4-1's. However when I try to install a brand new T4-2 I keep seeing this on screen and the install reverts to a manual install:
svc:/system/filesystem/local:default: WARNING: /usr/sbin/zfs mount -a failed: one or more file systems failed to mount
There's been a previous post about this but I can't see the MOS doc that is mentioned in the last post.
The server came pre-installed with Sol11 and I can see the disks:

If I drop to the ok prompt there is no hardware RAID configured and raidctl also shows nothing:

The final post I've found on this forum for someone with this same problem was "If you have an access to MOS, please check doc ID 1008139.1"
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks - J.Hi Julian,
I'm not convinced that your problem is the same one that is described in this discussion:
Re: Problem installing Solaris 10 1/13, disks no found
Do you see the missing volume message (Volume 130 is missing) as described in this thread?
A google search shows that there are issues with for a T4 Solaris 10 install due to a network driver problem and also if the system is using
a virtual CD or device through a LDOM.
What happens when you boot your T4 from the installation media or server into single-user mode? You say that you can see the disks, but can you create a ZFS storage pool on one of these disks manually:
# zpool create test c0t5000CCA016C3311Cd0s0
# zpool destroy test
For a T4 and a Solaris 10 install, the disk will need an SMI (VTOC) label, but I would expect a different error message if that was a problem.
Thanks, Cindy -
HOW TO INSTALL ROOT (Authority) CERTIFICATES ON S4...
Recently i bought a 6500 Classic and stupidly deleted my Authority Certificates.
After trwaling the net for info on how to re-install certificates i couldnt find an answer apart from NO YOU CANT DO THIS.
Well to that i say NUTS!!! because you can and i will show you how by simply following these steps.
1. Create a New Folder on your desktop and call it whatever you like.
2. Open notepad on your computer.
3. Copy the text below into the Notpad file. (I got this from some website as they were using it for smething else but it does work so thanks to them or thanks to you if this is yours)
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD XHTML Mobile 1.0//EN" "http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/xhtml-mobile10.dtd">

<a href="der10.cer">Download a CA Cert10</a>
<a href="der11.cer">Download a CA Cert11</a>
</p>
</body>
</html>
4. Save the Notpad file as type ALL FILES but when naming it just call it cert.html and save it to the folder you created on your desktop earlier.
5. Now downlaod the Root Certificates you need to the same folder on your Desktop.
6. When saving the first Certificate to the folder call it der1 ((make sure not to take out the file extension eg .cer)) then the second der2, third der3 and so on and so on till you get to der11. (Dont worry this will not rename the certificate when it installs on your phone.)
Example of what the files in your Desktop folder should be called der1.cer, der2.cer etc etc.
7. Now transfer the whole folder from your Desktop to your Mobile phone. (I did this by using Nokia PC Suite.)
8. When the folder with the certificates and hmtl we made have been transfered to you phone navigate using your phone to that folder.
9. Go into the folder and open the cert.html file. (Your browser will now open a page with 11 download links available)10. Now all you have to do is click on each link and accept each certificate remembering to save and they will install on your phone. (On my 6500 Classic i can check this by Navigating through my phone to Menu>Settings>Security>Authority Certificates)
Notes:- Some errors you may receive when trying to download the certificates through your phone browser may be Already Exists, Expired Certificate and the most annoying is Corrupted Certificate.
Already Exists - Shouldt allow you to save (DO NOT SAVE IF IT ALLOWS YOU)
Expired Certificate - (DO NOT SAVE)
Corrupted Certificate - Install the certificate on your computer first, then go to Tools>Internet Options>Content>Certificates.
(save the certificate to other people tab) Browse for the certificate you installed then export it in DER format to the Desktop Folder you created then start process over again to get it onto your phone.
Remember to delete any certificates as you go that you have already installed so you dont get mixed up.
Any issues reply and i will do what i can to help and if anyone has Hutchinson 3G Root Certificates please let me know.
Thanks.
