CM 13 / Infomaker / generatepdf.exe question

Hey All,
We're moving the database location of our CM13 app and we're having a problem with printing/print preview. It's my understanding that parameters are sent to the generatepdf.exe program when previewing and I can see these parameters in the .xml file it creates. But where do these parameters come from? I've redeployed the jdbc datasources and the rest of the app works fine. I've changes the settings of the ODBC connection originally used by Infomaker when designing the reports (keeping the same source name but pointing to the new SID), I've re-imported the forms and reports but for some reason or another the report still tries to use the old parameters pointing to the previous database location.
Any suggestions on how I can tell generatepdf.exe to use the new database location?

You should run through the DBConfig and check the Database settings in the Admincm tool. These are both located in utility\CMAdminConfig.
If you make changes, restart the CM service and try again.

T42 Windows XP Pro - ucgather.exe Question

I boot my T42 (1.2 GB) 2 to 3 times per day. About once every week or two during the startup sequence the processor is driven to 100% for a minute or two. According to the Task Manager the offender is python.exe. In looking further it seems that ucgather.exe (which runs during each boot) uses a python routine called pdtcomp.pyc (developed by Paul Plaskonos of IBM) that claims to be a byte compiled version of pdtcomp.py. I kill python.exe when this occurs; but it is annoying. My questions are: is Lenovo using the information gathered on each boot by the IBM ucgather program and is there an elegant method of discontinuing the startup run of this program if no one is using it? ... or alternatively is pdtcomp.py availble?

HI Sou,
The product key on the bottom of your notebook is specific to the OEM version of VISTA that was supplied with your noteook. If you have installed a different OS then you will need to use the product key that came with the OS that you have installed. This will normally be supplied either in the CD itself or on the packaging.

.exe question

Yo, does any1 know if is any open source/developer software that's objective is to open .exe files on a Mac. The only one I could find was Darwine, but the software is still in its very early stages and doesn't do the job...

An .exe is a windoze program. It won't run on a Mac. Well, actually, if you had an Intel Mac you could install boot camp and windoze expee, boot into expee and run the program. Since you have a PPC Mac, your only real option if you want to run windoze programs is to install VPC.

Drivers "865XP55.exe" question

hi:)
two days ago i went from my mobo (845E Max rev 1.0 - MS-6566) page on msi.com.tw to drivers section and found that there was file called "865XP55.exe" to download, and MS-6566 was on the list of supported mobo. An hour ago i wanted to install it - when the install prog greeted me with words "intel extreme graphics driver". What is that?!?!? The name of file suggests that its written for 865 series, so why my mainboard was on the list? Any clues?

Can't help. This is very strange. What version of Windows did you install?
The only thing I can say with any confidence is that your original install DVDs (Tiger, I assume) will not help at all, since Tiger disks do not have any Windows drivers. In fact, Windows will most likely complain that the Tiger disks are unreadable.

Use javac to create a helloWorld.class file
Then, from the DOS prompt in the directory that contains helloWorld.class, enter "java -classpath . helloWorld" with the spaces and the period. Should run.
My other post will lead you to information on how to set the classpath, if you so desire.

Runtime Error - Program-iles (86)Adobe\Premiere Pro 1.5\Adobe Premiere Pro.exe

I have Adobe Video Collection V2.6. (Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5).
All of the collection will load on my system except Adobe Premier Pro.
My system is:
Dell Precision 670 Work Station
Intel Xeon CPU 3.2GHz
3.19 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM
MS Windows XP
Professional x64 Edition
Version 2003
Service pack 2, v.4566
When I try to load Adobe Premiere Pro I am presented with the follow statement:

Question: How do I correct the Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 Runtime Error? Any help would be appreciated.

I spent 16 hours yesterday blending everything from Microsoft and Dell that
I could find relating to my problem. During all of this I lost all sound,
including playback and record on Adobe Audition 3 on another partition. I
worked until midnight last night and came back to my computer this morning
at 2:00 AM to continue. When I turned on the computer and checked, all of
the icons for the CD & DVD units, internet phone were in place and
everything worked. Adobe Audition now records and plays back...just like old
times. I have no idea which of the changes I made corrected my problem but
the problem is solved. Just wanted you gentlemen to know. It is reassuring
to know that there are folks “out there” a novice can count on. I will now
add the 8 GB of RAM but will not move to Windows 7 as yet. Thanks again for
your help.

How do I update Java for Adobe Flash CS3?

Hi,
When I ran Secunia Software Inspector today it told me that
the version of Java I have installed on my computer is out of date.
It tells me that it is finding 3 out-of-date files:
Once here:
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_04\bin\java.exe
Twice here:
C:\Windows\System32\java.exe
and three times here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS3\JVM\bin\java.exe
I updated Java via the Sun website and consequently the first
and second warnings disappeared when I reran the Software
Inspector.
The software inspector however is still finding an
out-of-date Java version here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS3\JVM\bin\java.exe
Question is: How do I update Java for Adobe Flash CS3?
Is it adequate to copy the updated file "java.exe" from
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_04\bin\" to "C:\Program
Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS3\JVM\bin\" or do I need to do anything
else?
Any help will be much appreciated.

I have the same problem of you, and the same dont find a
solution. Me it's Kaspersky Anti Virus (AV) which find this
problem.
So (and I dont know if this solution is perfect), but I open
Flash CS3 with the Java update choiced and apparently Flash
fonctionnely well and Kaspersky dont find this
prob now. But I dont never use Java in Flash (or without that

I think that "JRE v 1.6.0_04" and more recent Java version is
not good, because it's not quite the same Java application that in
Flash CS3, In Flash CS3 it's "J2RE" and
not "JRE".

Why servlet cannot work?

I change from using tomcat to Apache. And I have the same problem when I first install tomcat. the error message is "package javax.servlet does not exist"
I have already set the classpath as
C:\Program Files\Apache JServ 1.1.2\ApacheJServ.jar;
C:\JSDK2.0\lib\jsdk.jar;C:\jdk1.3.1_02;
C:\JSDK2.0\servlet.jar
and the path as

but still doesn't work. and i have also installed apache jserv. however i am able to view the servlet file,"IsItWorking" in the browser. but when i place my servlets into the same file, it doesn't work.
I check the logs file and receive the following error
(ERROR) ajp12: Servlet Error: ClassNotFoundException: HelloWorldServlet
and
ApacheJServ/1.1.2: Exception creating the server socket: java.net.BindException: Address in use: JVM_Bind
can someone with a kind soul please help me out...

Hope Java 1.5 will run faster

Above all languages, java is outstanding in nature but I cant imagine puttin up a simple swing application and find my application topping the task manager memory chart. Although I know the runtime loads before my program loads and its the one filling bulk of that memory space but i really believe SUN should work on making java really memory portable too
Also, Java's idea is write once run anywhere but what do you guys think about write once, compile anywhere. Cant there be a scheme whereby you can easily compile your code to all platforms natives in a simple portable way. I know you guys in SUN may have being bombarded with this question several times as I always see "java to exe" questions and not that you never anticipated such opinions as this but ultimately I do believe that someday, we will need a laguage as beautiful as Java that runs native to the operating system. I dont know what C# is up to but I get a lot of fear in adopting anything microsoft

Swing performance and memory use is suppose to be something they're focusing on in 1.4.2 and 1.5. Don't expect a huge change, but there will be improvements.

Manually printing Forms and Reports

Hello All;
I have a request to print all forms and reports of a project once it's closed in PCM14. Prior to upgrading they were able to do this by passing argument of the closed project to GeneratePDF.exe... (PCM13.1). this is no longer available in 14 and BI, and asking for advice on how to address such a task or maybe where to go from here. I've searched here and Oracles KB site, I have a bit more insight but not much more.
Any insight and advise greatly appreciated

Well, it depends on the number of concurrent users and appln/database size
We have a solaris box where we have installed 10g AS and 10gDB with RAM of 8GB and hard disk 350 GB
It works fine and we have around 25 concurrent users

Swing applets how?

I have no probs writing Swing Applications or AWT applets
but I dont know how to have a swing applet
I think you can install a plug in to IE so it can view Java 1.3. I am not too keen on this idea as it still means that people without the plug in will not be able to view the swing applet.

swing applet.That's just too bad... Didn't you know that M$ is dropping built-in "support" for Java altogether, so that you will need to download the ultra-modern plugin just like you need a plugin for movie clips, flash animations, sound, virtual reality, and other cool things?
There's more: the JRE is installed with the plugin so that the poor users will be able to run also other Java programs, not just applets. The whole world(*) will get a proper runtime environment! No more of these "how do I compile a .java to .exe" questions!
How do people without the plugin view the swing applet?Simple: convert the HTML code with the HTMLConverter app so that it will use the plugin. If a user that doesn't yet have the plugin enters your page he/she will be advised to download one...
(*) The whole world, or 'everywhere' in "write once, run everywhere" doesn't seem to incude *BSD? When will this be fixed???

Our security scanner is reporting that two services installed on our Server 2012 server is a potential security risk. The two services are:
WSUSService.exe - Path: %ProfileFiles%\Update Services\Services\WsusService.exe
WSusCertServer - Path: %ProfileFiles%\Update Services\Services\WSusCertServer.exe
The following specific references are provided supporting this position:
CVE-2013-1609 
CVE-2014-0759
Is my scanner correct that these are vulnerabilities because the service paths are not quoted, or is this not really an issue for these specific services?

Based on my research, we can solve this issue by adding quotation marks at each side of the services path in Registry.
You can find the service in registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services, after that, you can expand the ImagePath then add quotation marks.

Acrobat.exe product version question

Hi
Does anyone know of a link in Adobe where it shows every product version number for all acrobat.exe they have produced?
Basically i just want to be able to see which version of the file is a professional and standard version. (Based on the file product number).
eg. Acrobat.exe product number 8.1.0.2007051100 is a professional version.

I think there is a list, but the problem is it may vary based on the source and version as I recall a comment before. Anyway, the fastest way of getting the information is still probably to run the program, using one with Pro and one with Std. Sorry that I can't be more helpful, but the last time I saw a question about these numbers the answer was rather mixed and indicated it varied with the source of the product and several other factors. I don't really know more.

That's an updater for the Japanese-language version of
Dreamweaver 4,
not a program that enables Japanese on the English version of
DW4. You
will need to uninstall Dreamweaver, and reinstall it.
Early versions of Dreamweaver do not support Japanese in the
English
version unless you run the program in a Japanese-language
operating
system. I can't remember which was the first version to
support Asian
languages in the English version, but Dreamweaver 4 is
definitely too old.
