CM1312nfi printing faded 1/2 " orange border on right edge of page

I have a CM1312nfi that is about 4 months old.
PC's printing to it have XP SP3
When a color page comes out it has a half inch border on the right side of the page that is orange.  Before I ran the cleaning a couple times it also had a yellow border on the left side of the page.
THanks for the help

Hi John, I'm guessing that icon is created and updated by an extension. I'm not sure which one, though. Maybe something that is tracking the trackers, like Lightbeam? Have you tried hovering your mouse over the icon to see whether a tooltip appears, or clicking it?

  • How to to print an .indd document with a border around the edge?

I have an Indesign document that I want to print with a slight border around the edge.
I print this after exporting it as a PDF.  But when I choose the various combinations of 'print printer's marks' in the export settings, none of them seem to work.
I want just a simple thin border line around the edge of the document to print.  I don't want the interior body to print (which it sometimes does).
I know this can be done, because on some of my .indd documents it works... but I can't figure out what I did to get it to print that way.
    HELP!
    and thanks....
    jn

Thanks... the visible guides setting change took away the purple interior rectangle.
But it still doesn't print the border outline.
Here in text form is a summary of the .indd file settings that does print a border correctly, as I like it to.
The relevant paragraph under Marks and Bleed has crop marks off... and document bleed settings on.
I wonder what I'm missing?  Sometimes I wished Adobe just used plain english... like 'print border outline of document'!
    Thanks!
    jn

  • Get rid of initial table selection (orange border)

    Hi,
I have a table with multi-selection, and when i initialize the screen automatically the first line of the table looks like it's selected (orange border), that's confusing the users because this file is not really selected. Is there a possibility to get rid of this orange border on the first line?
    Thanks in advance

Thanks for your help. I was thinking of some complex solutions, but I really prefer your simple one ;O).

  • Printing on paper with colored border - paper is not always aligned

    Hello,
I am looking for a recommendation on the following subject:
I am printing a lot of photos on a special sheets of paper which already have a designed colourful borders, and the photos should go exactly inside of the border.
Sometimes my printers do not take correctly the paper, and the paper is not 100% horizontally aligned. Even a small incline in the paper results my photos sometimes to be printed on the border and not inside of it.
Do you have any recommendation on a Canon printer which can work better in this situation or a technique that i can use so my printer will always take the paper properly aligned ?
    Thank you.
    Sergey.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
This forum is dedicated to the productivity application, AppleWorks. It is not a "catch-all" for how Apple computers work. Questions about Pages should be posted in the Pages ‘08 forum.
But the answer to this question is the same no matter what word processor you are using - change the document margins so the printed area is within the border of the paper you will be using. You will probably need a ruler to measure the amount on the paper. In Pages (any version), go to the document inspector & either type in the margin numbers or use the tiny up/down arrows to increase/decrease in .25" increment. In AppleWorks word processing, go to Format > Document… & type in the margin numbers.

  • Why do pdfs print faded?

I can print Word Documents that come out "normal" in terms of their clarity of ink, but when I print pdfs/Excel sheets, they print "faded"?
What printer setting would make the ink darker for these documents? (I've tried several different printer options, but they still come out "faded".)
    Thank you!

Well i try to convert all the images i use to CMYK in photoshop before placing them in inDesign - will this actually make a major difference to the printed out colour?
When i PDF from InDesign my colour settings are - Document CMYK U.S. Web coated v2 (this is in the "DESTINATION" toggel. The fact that the word "web" is in the name makes me wonder if this is correct? I am working in another designer's template and this is what the previous designer must have used. I print to PDF/X1a. If possible guide me on what and where i should double check on.
The paper it is printed on makes the colours automatically darker since it is "newspaper" quality paper. The thing that bothers me is that only some images will come out a touch darker than they should be, because all the istock photos i use come out fine. Anyway I woould love it if someone can give me som guidelines as to what my colour profile need to be in my Indesign file... there are so many options.
    Thanks

  • Print to File:  Removing white border

I have a lot of issues going on here.  I'm sure that a lot of my problems are a result of my lack of understanding of file size and print resolution.  I'm a newbie to printing with Lightroom, and, to be frank, a newbie to printing in general because I've never understood the terminology and technical aspects.  (Reading articles about dpi, ppi, image size, and resolution is a VERY difficult undertaking.  There is conflicting information, and it's hard to find someone who can explain it in easy to understand terms.)
I print at Costco, and I use their printer settings.  As far as I can tell, the only way to embed the printer profile in an image is to print to file.  What I would prefer is to save my image as a .jpg and upload it to Costco.
When I set up a photo for print to file, Lightroom places a white border around it because it's trying to arrange my photo on the printer paper.  Even when I change the Print Job to print to .jpg, it does this.  The only way to get around this is to check "custom file dimension" under print job, and then select a size.  Then, under layout, I'm able to set the margins to zero and the cell sizes to the dimensions of the photo I'm going to print.
I notice that when I use a custom file dimenstion, the size of the image changes.  If I choose 8 x 10, it chooses a file size about the same as the original image (8mb).  If I'm printing a poster, 20 x 30, it creates a huge 27mb file.  At first, I thought I could just use ratios, such as 2 x 3, but it seems like that would shrink the photo down to such a small extent that it would be pixelly.
And how is all this affected by resolution?  If I choose 300 ppi how is that affected by whether an image is printed 5 x 7, 8 x 10, or 20 x 30.
Before using lighroom, I simply croppoed a photo, added the printer profile, saved it, and uploaded it.  I do not understand why Lightroom is making me choose the paper size.

How you are getting rid of the border is pretty much the way to do it -- you can save this layout as a preset for next time.  However, as far as printing to JPEG for printing at a service, I just use the regular export dialogue.  Unless you are printing 8x10s with some custom layout of multiple files (e.g., you could print a number of little wallet-size photos, and then cut them out yourself) and don't need the features the print module gives you, this is just easier. But exporting a JPEG from the regular export makes borderless print-ready images if you select the right options.
DPI/PPI can be a confusing subject, but there are tools on the internet that allow you to calculate the number of pixels you need to clearly print at certain sizes.  Honestly, for most of us not doing fine prints (and given you are sending these to Costco, I'm assuming this is not the case) just do 240 or 300 for 4x6s and 5x7s, increase this to 600 for 8x10 and similar sizes, and go to 1200 or 2400 when you step up to the really large sizes. Remember, the larger the print, the further back you stand to get the whole thing, so at some point resolution becomes less important.
You can probably export at less than 100% quality and get very good results.  There is an article out there that discusses JPEG quality and file size in Lr, which is different than Photoshop. The upshot is that you get very good results at around the 85-90% range.  This, of course, depends on the information in the image.  You also want to strip most of the metadata from the file. This can account for a large amount of room in the file.
Find out if your service expects sRGB or can accept AdobeRGB (surprisingly, a lot of photo kiosk prefer AdobeRGB) and then you can get your colours closer to what you expect.
Ideally, you want to export at the size you expect to print at. Lr will optimize the sharpening and so on based on the target file dimensions along with the resolution, and you will just get better, sharper results. You will want to crop to the right ratios, too, so that the target dimension makes sense. Lr will never try to distort your image to fit certain dimensions, so some creative sampling will occur, otherwise.
Lr is actually one of the easiest apps I've ever used for getting images print-ready.  Between the sharpening, the white and black points (because blow-outs in print look terrible) and so on, it is easy to get pretty good results as amateur.  You do have to decide the dimensions and resolution, though, in order for Lr to make the right choices when rendering the final JPEG.

  • Trying to print to paper with a "border" around it

I have set up a document (letter) to print to the C7280 printer ( XP with word 2003) - 2 pages set up for duplex; 8 1/2"x11". I print to a plain piece of paper and the top margin is approximately 1 inch down, same on the bottom.
I now want to print to some "stationery". The front side of this paper has a 1 inch border all around. When I print to the "stationery"paper, the top margin drops down so it is now 2 inches from the top of the page. Consequently the bottom of the page now prints into the border.
Does the printer have something built in that makes it think that the bottom of the border is now the real top of the page.
I never exit word during this whole process; all I do is replace the paper.
Same thing happens with word 2007 and Vista.

I do not know of any settings that can be changed.  One thing I have done in similar situations is to cut a small strip from a Yellow Sticky pad and place this on what would be the top right edge of the printed page.  Remove after printing.  This might work for small quantities, it will not be a good solution if you are printing in quantity.

  • Anytime I try to print in Firefox a Microsoft KB article that is 1 page, I always only get the first page.

Anytime I print any Microsoft KB article, I only get the first page worth of text. This is very troubling because the articles are typically long, and I only get 1 page. The second page always comes out blank (even though in IE it will print out multiple pages with all the text).
My specific example today is listed in the URL below. This example will only print to the "DIR" command, I don't get the full page printed out.
Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a resolution? I hate having to hit up IE just to print a single article.
I updated to FF 8.01 just to make sure, and I have tried different printers and even computers, to no avail. Even the print preview has the issue, only the first page worth of text is printed and the second page is always blank (even if there are 3, 4, 5, etc pages of data to be printed).
I have also tried the Firefox Menu -> Print command, and the "on-page" print command. I have seen moderate success with highlighting all the text that I want to print and going to "Print-Selection" but it is ugly.
Any feedback or assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Every time Firefox opened

Go to the "File" menu, then "Print." The window that appears will have three drop-down menus at the top.
    The first is labeled "Printer",
    The second is "Presets".
The third is unlabeled but has "Copies & Pages" selected by default.
Click on that third menu and select "Firefox" near the bottom of the list.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus, printing from web cuts everything off on right side

    Hello,
I am having a problem with my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus cutting of everything ont he right-hand side of my pages when i print anything from the internet.
I am currently using Windows 7 and I am printing from Firefox.
I use Gmail and anything I print from there does the same thing.  I see on several other posts here that they tell people to go to the File menu and choose preferences, but when printing from Gmail, I do not see anywhere that has a drop-down File menu to choose from.  I also see several people saying to choose landscape orientation to print, however it still cuts off the right side when I choose the landscape option.
When I print from Gmail I am just hitting the printer icon on the upper right corner of the email itself (when you put your mouse over the icon it says "print all"), or I click on the drop-down menu under that icon and choose "print".
When I am trying to print some web pages, I can hit the download arrow to the right of the google search box and then print the downloaded page instead.  This usually corrects the problem, but sometimes when I try to download a page, it says there is nothing to download.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thank you,
    Steel

    Hi @steel13
Since the issue only occurs when you print from Firefox, I feel it would be most beneficial if you reach out to Mozilla.
You might first consider resetting Firefox print settings; Fix printing problems in Firefox.
    Best of luck.

  • Web pages are printed incorrectly, i.e. left side of page in p.1, right side on page 2. This started recently. Correct printer is identified.

Firefox recently updated. Now, printing a web page results in left side printed on p.1, right side on page 2. Using the same Canon D9000 printer. Selecting horizontal format causes the left side of page to be printed 1/2 size on 1/4 page! Printing same web page with IE is OK. Printing from MS`Word is OK.

All web pages? Or just some? Example of a page where that happens?
Do those pages have '''Frames'''? <br />IOW, is the '''Print Frames''' section in the print dialog available (not greyed-out) for selecting '''''Each frame separately'''''?
If that isn't a Frames issue, my advice is to do the '''reset''' described here. <br />
