CMC - Authentication - SAP Entry?

Hi,
we installed (or we are trying to install) SAP Integration Kit (Server + Client).
When I try to logon now to server, I can choose between Enterprise, LDAP,Windows AD    AND     SAP. This is good. But when I goto CMC -> Authentication -> I can't see an SAP Entry nor Windows AD.
I at least expected here the SAP Entry...what do you have?
Please provide feedback!
Regards,
Christian

Hi,
It seems like that the web applications have not been deployed correctly. When you are on a Unix/Linux environment, then you have to manually deploy the web applications after you install the SAP Integration kit. This is done using the command line tool WDEPLOY. The process is described in the installation guide (xi31_sp2_bip_sap_install.pdf on page 33 and onwards.
Once deployed successfully, the SAP entry will be available under Authentication in the CMC.

  • Cannot add BW SAP system in CMC Authentication\Entitlement System

    Hi,
I've re-installed Edge XI 3.1 SP3, Explorer/Polestar SP2 and finally SAP Integration Kit SP3 on Windows 2008 & SQL Server 2008 after a consultant came onsite to do this 4 months ago.  I wanted the practice and its a pilot installation only.
I cannot seem to add my SAP BW Dev system to the Entitlement system from within the CMC - Authentication - SAP section however.  I 've got the .dll's in the right places, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Integration Kit. restarting the Tomcat server, etc to no avail.  I've also had a read of Ingo's blog and am sure I've followed all his steps correctly.
Can this only be a case of not following the installation correctly or am I missing something else?  Any help appreciated please.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I've had success in getting the Entitlement System connected.
Basically on top of completely uninstalling everything SAP and BO related, renaming folders to .OLD and rebooting, then installing Edge and SAP GUI....I then followed these steps before installing Integration Kit:
To install InfoView automatically, you must install and configure SAP Java Connector components:
To do this, copy librfc32.dll and librfc32u.dll, to the appropriate folder.
    u2022 On 32-bit Windows: %windir%\system32
    u2022 On 64-bit Windows: %windir%\sysWOW64
    Copy sapjcorfc.dll to <BusinessObjects install directory ..\win32_x86.
Then copy sapjco.jar to the application serveru2019s shared library folder. For example, on a 64-bit Windows system with Tomcat 5.5, copy sapjco.jar to H:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Tomcat55\shared\lib
    N.B. Had to create folder shared\lib in H:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Tomcat55.
    Rebooted.
This is similar to and in addition to Ingo's steps, however he does refer to the Integration Install guide, which is where the above is mostly taken from.
I could then UPDATE the new BW Dev system from the CMC and then see all available roles.
Thanks for your prompt advice and support Ingo.

  • CMC Authentication Active Directory Synchronization Updates Drops Users

We are using SAP Business Objects on a Windows Server 2008 box and have configured single sign-on using Active Directory. We schedule the Active Directory in the Authentication tab to synchronize every day. Yesterday not all of the users updated and actually were dropped from the CMC. We think it was because one of the domain controllers went down for a group of users during the last CMC Active Directory Update. My question is, are there any log files we can look at for the active directory synch to see if there were any errors detected during the synchronization. It would be nice too, to be able to see a list of what actually happened during the Active directory synch like what groups, users and user group associations where added and deleted.
The result was when the users were dropped we lost any manual security setups and the user lost their favorites and preferences settings because they were dropped. Is there anyway we can insulate our Acitve Directory updates from accidentally dropping users when something goes wrong with the Active Directory Synch Update?
Any best practices would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
Usually, if a group has been deleted or renamed in the AD controller, the group is deleted from the CMC. If a DC is not available, the group shouldn't have been deleted.
As far as I know, there are no options for debugging the action of the schedule. If you suspect that this can happen again, you can enable/disable traces on your CMS programming the creation/copy of CMS_trace.ini when the AD graph/alias schedule is going to happen.
There is an Idea that you can vote to avoid users being deleted when the group is accidentally deleted from the CMC:
    https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/ideas/2645
In the meantime, you can also create Enterprise alias for your AD users, so even if the problem appears again, the security, inboxes and favourites will still be there.

  • JCO Error with CMC on SAP NetWeaver WebAS Java 7.0 Server

    Hi, all
We just installed our BO Enterprise XI 3.1 system, when we attempt to import SAP roles in the Central Management Console (CMC), the result is the following error: "An error occurred: com/sap/mw/jco/JCO$Function".
I have checked note 1274700 and 1292144, but in these two notes it use tomcat as the Java web application server to hold BO web applications like CMC. In our case, we use the SAP WebAS Java 7.0 Server.
    Below is our system info:
Server 1: Windows 2003 SP2 32bit, Install BO Enterprise XI3.1, Crystal Reports 2008 and Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP. We did't choose install tomcat option.
Server 2: Windows 2003 SP2 x64, SAP NetWeaver WebAS Java 7.0 to run BO Web Applications.
Below is our whole installation process:
On Server1, Install BO Enterprise XI3.1, Crystal Reports 2008 and Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP. We choose "I will delpoy the web components after installation" option when install the BO Enterprise XI3.1 and Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP. We didn't choose the install tomcat option.
After the BOE XI3.1 and Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP installation, we user wdeploy tool to generate the ear files, copy the 19 web components ear files to Server2, manually deploy all the total 19 web components packages on our SAP NetWeaver WebAS Java 7.0 System on Server 2.
All the instalation processes above finished successfully. The web componnets are also successfully deployed on SAP NetWeaver WebAS Java 7.0 system.
When we start to configure the Business Objects Integration Kit for SAP, We logon to CMC, choose Authentication, double click SAP, fill info on tab "Entitled System" when we click tab "Role Import", we get the error info "com/sap/mw/jco/JCO$Function".
Then we download the SAPJCO 2.18 package 32bit for Server1, x64 version for Server2, and did following task on both Server1 and Server2:
    1. Put the librfc.dll and jcorfc.dll file to C:\Windows:\System32
    2. Add CLASSPATH, point to sapjco.jar file.
    But still don't work.
Does anyone use the SAP NetWeaver WebAS as the web application server for BO?
Also I want to know does SAP officially support tomcat for production use now? I mean if some web error occurs about tomcat, will SAP support it?
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Daniel

    Hi Ingo,
Yes - Ive tried every possible combination and here is my findings...
I don't think the 32-bit version of the SAP Java Connector (2.1.8) works on a Windows 2003 x64 SAP J2EE 7.0, i.e. the sapjco.jar file. I created a directory and added it to the CLASSPATH of the J2EE server (server and instance) and I also added it to the Java classpath using: java -jar <path+sapjco.jar> -classpath. Executing this command brings up a SAP Java connector window where it displays information of the version, location of the sapjcorfc.dll file etc. This windows opens, but is not able to display the information. If I do exactly the same with the x64 bit version of the SAP Java connector (2.1.8) it displays the information correctly in the SAP Java connector popup. I've tried copying the sapjcorfc.dll and the librfc32.dll to both the /system32 and the SYSWOW64 directory on the server.
HOWEVER, in CMC the Role Import tab still does not work - I just get the text null (in red). Before adding the sapjco.jar to the java classpath I got another error on the Role import tab - something like /com/sap/mw/jco/$JCOFunction. So it seems like it is now able to find the sapjco.jar file, but can not use it properly.
The big question is now: Should the sapjco.jar file actually be on the Application server or on the BOE Server? I know it says on the application server in all documentation, but that generally assumes Tomcat and all installed on one server.
BOE uses the sapjco.jar file to connect to the BW system to import the roles and that must be the BOE server doing that job and not the Application server???
Just my thoughts - maybe we can discuss this at Teched in Phoenix? :o)
    Best regards,
    Jacob

  • CMC Authentication takes 15 minutes to display

Why is it taking 15 minutes or more to bring up the Authentication pop-up window in the CMC?
I just click on the Authentication "lock" icon and select Windows AD and a blank page page with "Loading" appears and then it sits - 15+ minutes before it populates - then it works fine.
Using Windows AD with only 5 Mapped AD groups in a single domain with Kerberos authentication and Enabled SSO for the selected auth mode, SiteMinder disabled.
Version - SAP BO Enterprise XI version 12.1.0 on the CMC About page.
Anyway to see what is causing the delay?  It happens every time.
    Thanks in Advance,
    -- VA_PDJ

Logged support ticket with SAP - got solution - see below...
It is taking 15 minutes or more to bring up the Authentication pop-up window in the CMC.
When we click on the Authentication "lock" icon and select Windows AD and a blank page with "Loading" appears and then it sits - 15+ minutes before it populates u2013 after which it works fine.  This happens every time.
The fix from SAP is to set a limitation on the number of Group Graph and Alias reports that are kept by SAP/BO.
This change eliminates the delay in the display of the Authentication page.
    Steps:
    1)     Login to CMC
    2)     Go to Folders -> Administrative Tools
    3)     Open Update Windows AD Group Graph
    4)     Go to Limits and check u201CDelete excess instances when there are more than N instances of an objectu201D and set the limit to 10
    5)     Click u201CUpdateu201D and close the window
    6)     Open Update Windows AD Group Graph and Aliases
    7)     Go to Limits and check u201CDelete excess instances when there are more than N instances of an objectu201D and set the limit to 10
    8)     Click u201CUpdateu201D and close the window
It can take up to 24 hours for the excess reports to be removed, but after that, the response time for Windoiws AD Authentication pop-up page was under 5 minutes - not great but workable for this infrequent change area

  • Windows Active Directory Authentication SAP BO XI R4 Distributed Environment.

Hello we have been able successfully implement the Windows AD Authentication in our DEV and UAT environments which are single server environments.
We would like to proceed with doing the implementation in production but there is one difference which the SAP documentation doesn't address. That difference is that our production environment consists of two servers, a Web Tier and a Server Tier.
Which server needs to be configured to support the AD authentication?

We were able to successfully enable the Windows AD Authentication.
Section 4 would be on the SIA's or server tier. Sections 5,6,and 7 would be for the Java Web app server or web tier.
We got an error when trying to enable SSO though.
The server encountered an internal error (com.wedgetail.idm.sso.ProtocolException: com.wedgetail.idm.spnego.server.SpnegoException: GSSException: Failure unspecified at GSS-API level (Mechanism level: com.dstc.security.kerberos.KerberosException: Successfully matched service principal "account@domian_name" but not key type (18) + KVNO (32) in this entry: Principal: [1] account@domain_name TimeStamp: Wed Dec 31 19:00:00 COT 1969 KVNO: -1 EncType: 23 Key: 16 bytes, fingerprint = [......] )) that prevented it from fulfilling this request.
We disabled the SSO for the time being, but the Windows AD works fine.

  • Windows Integrated Authentication & SAP Logon tickets

    1) We have configured windows authentication and the IISproxy on a SPS frontend server to our SAP portal environment.
2)We have configured SAP logon tickets on the SAP portal (running on hp-ux).
    3) Both the IIS server and the sap portal server exist on the same domain inside our firewall (iis_server.lsv.internal_company_name.com and sap_portal_server.lsv.internal_company_name.com)
    4) A virtual URL has been created on the IIS server, http://sap_portal.external_company_name.com, using a domain alias.
    5) When an authenticated user is passed from the IIS server to the SAP portal the SAP logon ticket that is created is for external_company_name.com alias rather than lsv.internal_company_name.com. This logon ticket is not accepted by any of the backend SAP systems that have been configured to except logon tickets because they all exist in the lsv.internal_company_name.com domain.
    6) The portal security guide says:
"The Portal Server issues a SAP logon ticket for the Internet domain or a sub-domain of the
    Portal Server only."
Given this scenario, is there some configuration that can be added to allow the use of this alias or is there a bug in the SAP portal code that needs to be addressed?

    Hi,
You cannot use the external alias. You can however set SSO on the portal not to look to the total url. For example it would work if you use:
    sap_portal_server.lsv.internal.company_name.com
    and
    sap_portal.external.company_name.com
The prerequisite here is that at least the domain name should be the same i.e. the last two parts.

    Vincent

  • CMC Authentication AD page hanging

I have searched here and not able to find a solution.
I have 3 envronments all setup the same, so I dont beleive it is a setting.
On my Development environment CMC I am not able to load the Authenication>AD page.
I get a blank page with Loading message at the top and it just hangs, no timeout (even after half an hour or more)
This is preventing me access the properties for AD Authenication and in turn I have not been able to add any new AD groups for importing.
Done all the typical restarts with no joy,
This has been occuring for more than a week now.
Everything else appears to be working,
    Any thoughts out there.
    Regards Eric

    Finally able to answer this
The Tomcat log has not updated since a reboot yesterday
Running the queries or trying to access the page does not generate errors in this log
I didnt identify anything, but then again Im no expert.

  • Looking for SAP entry level training online, maybe free/ virtual training?

    Hello,
I am trying to find out if there is any free online training?
I am looking for some type of test database, free training, or virtual logins, etc...
I am interested in Learning SAP but have no experience.
I am not working for an employer that uses SAP or where I would use it in my job role.
I want to learn how to use it.
I see lots of job postings wanting the experience in SAP.
    Thank You,
    Wayne

  • Forward Proxy Authentication SAP Webservice Framework HELP!

    Hi,
i have built as WS Client using the SAP Standalone Proxy. The client will utilize a forward proxy to access my Webservice. Unfortunately the documentation does only give information how to set the proxy address and port:
    port._setProperty"javax.xml.rpc.http.proxyhost","proxy");
    port._setProperty("javax.xml.rpc.http.proxyport","8080");
The is no hint how to set a proxy user and password? Does anybody know the answer to my question here?
    Cheers,
    Heiko

    Hi Heiko,
    Get SecurityProtocol as described <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ab/c955e2e2d24a888127f211f2d5043f/frameset.htm">here</a> .
Use methid <i>public void addHeader(String key, String value)</i> to add HTTP header:
    String authString = "username" + ":" + "password";
    String auth = "Basic " + new sun.misc.BASE64Encoder().encode(authString.getBytes());
    securityProtocol.addHeader("Proxy-Authorization", auth);

  • Best practices of BO/BW SSO SAP Authentication transports

    Hi Friends,
We are going to integrate BW system with BO (SAP authentication). All the queries are built through BICS connections. And we have various reporting tools to implement SSO SAP authentication (Webi,Crystal,Dashboard.Design studio…etc)
As per the process there are certain activities which has to be performed at BW level
e.g -- BW Roles creation (PFCG---Crystal role enablement) and assigning to BO users
Once it is created in BW , we have to do  integration at BO level( in CMC application) by selecting authentication and roles import followed by ……Groups..Users…folder and access level...
    My question here is
Transports of BW objects for BO SSO (SAP) authentication (such as roles created for Users, Keystore certificate, uploads). Will these objects be transported by BW team or they will be separately downloading or uploading the certificate in different systems (like QAS  ...PROD….)
And at BO level, once I integrate BO SSO, Do I need to do manual integration in QAS and Production system as well or it can be transported with promotion management of BO tool
Will these SSO(SAP) authentication can be applied to all tools in BI Launchpad such as (Design studio,Webi,Web application,Crystal….etc)  as all users  are required to have SSO to all BO tool
Regarding LUMIRA tool , Can we do SSO authentication
Please share your thoughts and experience.
I t would be great if I get BO administration best practices document for BW BO SSO and Users and Group management  in CMC for implementing
    Thanks in advance

    Hi ,
    Please find my answers below:
    1. The roles will be created in BW and should automatically appear in BO CMC Authentication SAP roles, if there is a connectivity setup between BO and BW irrespective of the SSO.The roles are transported by the BW security team.
    2. Every environement will have a unique connection to the corresponding SAP BW environment. For example SAP BW DEV will be mapped to BO DEV, SAP BW PROD will be mapped to BO PROD.So these settings cannot be migrated through Promotion Management.
3.This authentication can be applied to all tools , the SSO does not depend on the tool ,it depends on the integration between two systems which in this case are BO and SAP BW
As mentioned earlier, after integration all tools can have SSO
You can refer to a lot of help documents on this site which will help you to setup the integration between SAP BW AND SAP BO.
    Kind Regards,
    Priyanka

  • Role Import Error In SAP Authentication

    Dear Experts,
I have Installed BO XI R3.1 Integration kit for Sap Solutions. After Updating in Entitlement System,Options then while moving to Role Import i am getting error as shown below.

1)Can you please tell me how to solve it?
2)Can you please give me links related to Single  Sign On  or documents ?

    Hi,
are all transports imported in your SAP Back- End?
Can you ping your SAP Back- End from your BO Server?
With regards to SSO, you can have SSO from your SAP EP to BOBJ or from BOBJ to your SAP Back- End. Check the SAP ITK installation guide.

You need a S-User for Login.
