Cmd-returning not working

Hello,
One of the few short cuts I regularly use in Safari is when viewing a page and I decide to search for something, I fill in the search bar and then hit cmd-return to open the results in a new tab. Since Safari 5.1 came out however this no longer works. I know I can cmd-t to open a new tab first and then fill in the search criteria, but to me that seems long winded.
Rather than it being Lion related it must be Safari 5.1 as both my macbook (lion) and my imac (snow leopard) are showing this trait now they are running the latest safari.
Is there a way either through settings or hidden options to get this working again.

What are you trying to do?
Command-delete will delete fil or folder.
Cut will work in content of a file.

CMD+ shortcuts not working in Dreamweaver CS3

I'm have a very strange issue with CMD+ keyboard shortcuts
not working in Dreamweaver CS3 on OSX 10.5. These actions are
working from the menus (i.e., copy, cut, paste, etc.). CMD+
shortcuts work in other CS3 apps. I've searched this forum and
googled up and down and found some references to issues like this

My concern wasn't with the navbar, but thanks for the headsup.
The problem is that the link in the upper left hand corner, Suzie's Story, is a rollover image but it does not reveal the other image when the cursor goes over it.

CMD+ shortcut not working on Czech keyboard

Hello,
I have this problem. CMD+ and some other shortcuts are not working or are working weird on Czech keyboard. For example it works in Preview (sometimes) but not in Safari.
On Czech keyboard there is + sign on the key with number 1. (normal press = "+" shift and press = "1"). When I activated Keyboard Viewer in could see that when I press CMD the "+" key turns to "1". So then its impossible to press CMD+. The weird thing is that in Preview it sometimes works like CMD+ and sometimes like CMD and 1 (I really don't know why, in both cases i have a pdf file opened).
Then I tried setting CMD and 1 as a shortcut for Zoom In instead of CMD+. Here is another weird thing. When I pressed CMD+ the shortcut was set to CMD+ with no problem, but when I want to use it it always acts as CMD and 1.
Can somebody explain me why this all works weird like that or maybe can somebody look into it and fix it somehow?

This could be lots of things. I'd say it was some type of system corruption.
First, thing is to define a new user & see if the problem exits there.
If not, -- good news -- it is probably some finder preference. You need to delete the finder preferences.
Otherwise, the corruption is somewhere else.

You may want to run these "standard" fixes if the problem persists.
Check the amount of free space on your harddrive. You should have a several gigs free.
You should run disk utility
a) verify the disk
b) update your permissions.
Try a safe boot.
Shutdown your machine. Hold down the shift key. Poweron. Wait awhile Wait awhile while you harddrive is being checked.

Left cmd x not working

Since this morning I can't 'cut' in an applications using left cmd+x it works ok with right cmd+x but this is rather a annoying to press.
If I use the keyboard viewer I can see that the press of the x is not registered when I hold down the left cmd key, but is regsitered when holding down the right cmd key.

Please do a SMC Reset at least 2-3 times, then resart normally and retest.

Object Lock Shortcut (Cmd 2) - Not working

I can use the Object Lock shortcut on my Mac at home but for some reason that I can't solve, it does not work on my office Mac.
Are there any triggers or settings that I can toggle to allow me to use this extremely helpful shortcut???

There are a couple of places to look as to why your CMD 2 is not working
Illustrator >> Edit >> Keyboard Shortcuts
Yours should look like mine.
Also look at your system preferences >> Keyboard, and you want to look at all of these to make sure CMD 2 has not been used for nay of the commands here.

Cmd-+ and cmd-x not working

Hi,
I can't get ANY commands working that consist of a + or - sign.
I have tried to reassign cmd-+ and cmd-- to zoom in and out but the commands doesn't work in the editor.
When going into the command preferences I can clearly see that cmd-+ and cmd-- gets correctly detected when pressing them.
Any advice would be kindly appreciated.

As far as I remember, the shortcut to insert a newline in a table's cell isn't
alt + down_arrow but alt + return
Oops, I read too fast and confound newline and new line.
I applied the combo updater 10.6.8 and every shortcuts behave flawlessly.

Goods Receipt Against A Goods Return - Not Working

Hi,
i have been trying to work through the Purchase goods return process for a client and am having issues with the flow.
This is the process :-
Create Purchase Order for 1 item, Qty = 21
Goods Reciept linked to Purchase Order - Qty = 21 this is 100% (Purchase Order Closes)
Goods Return linked to Goods Receipt - Qty = 1
Goods Receipt replacement item from supplier - attempted to link to Goods Return - none available - find goods return closed !!!
How can i link the new goods receipt with the original Purchase Order/Goods Receipt/Goods Return if the goods return is closed.
I'm using 2007A SP01 PL05

The scenario you described:
Return closed automatically after being added
is system behaviour.
It is not possible to link the new GRPO to the goods return.
The only suggestion I can give you is writing the GRPO and goods return numbers in the remark of the new GRPO.

Multiple undos opt+cmd+z not working in CC 2014

Hello, I am on a new mac book pro with CC 2014 installed and I have no ability to undo multiple times...? This problem has happened since I upgraded to 2014. I have checked the keyboard shortcuts and the same shortcut as before (in CC) is active as shown in the image, step forward (using shift etc) works fine but 'Opt+CMD+Z' doesn't. It's not a keyboard issue as it is a new keyboard and the 'opt' key works fine with other apps.
Any thoughts or help would be most appreciated.

Yes I have done that - I mapped CMD + Z but that kind of gets in the way of years of habit and is a bit frustrating and confusing when you're working quick etc...
It does work fine doing that (I have just uninstalled 3 versions of Photoshop and reinstalled CC 2014 and still no multiple undos on OPT + CMD + Z?! It's like it won't accept the key combination because if you go into map back to OPT + CMD + Z after changing it to CMD + Z it won't let you. You have to revert to default to even get that option back. C'est bizarre...non?

Paste ( cmd+v ) not working

For some reason I can not paste into any application anymore using cmd + v on my MacBook running Lion 10.7. Copy ( cmd+c ) seems to work though. So far I have tried repairing permission and setting all keyboard shortcuts to default. Didn´t help. Anyone have an idea ?

Ok, silly question, but are you using the same command key both ways? Have you tried plugging in another keyboard? I had a mac that I thought wouldn't boot into single-user mode, but it turned out that the command key on the left side of the spacebar was broken.

Problem resetting user permissions- CMD R not working

ISSUE:
In the last couple of days I seem to be losing permissions to do things in my user profile which is the admin. Can't dump anything to trash without a password, mail will not open as it doesn't have permission anymore, can't move files around from folder to folder, Excel won't save as it is now read only, Firefox won't open as it thinks there is already an open version...Messages won't sync properly anymore or access address book to bring up peoples names to match the phone numbers... etc..etc.
Research showed the problem is likely user permissions and the cure is resetting. Knowing this has to be done via terminal after a COMMAND R boot into recovery mode I have tried everything to make this happen. No go! Apparently the partition required to boot into recovery never happened during install as the computer insists it is not there. Worse it will not default to internet recovery either. When I hold OPTION and boot I have only the HD visible and no recovery option to choose from.
I have created a 10.8 USB recovery stick (on my mac air) and can boot to that on the mini but there is no terminal option (as far as I can see) to allow me to reset the permissions. I also tried to boot to an old Leopard CD hoping that might work.. nada.
I have done a verify disk and repair disk permissions. All good. The computer works 100% fast and proper if I login under a new user profile so my issue appears not to be hardware related at all.
Given that I can't CMD R into any recovery is there any other way to reset these permissions?
Anyone know what would cause this to happen?

Changing screens with cmd-tab not working

To change screens (different programs) I often use cmd-tab.
But it doesn't work all the time. Very often when I use cmd-tab,
nothing happens. What can I do? Please help.

Verify that application hasn't got another command for that shortcut. Most should not, but every once in awhile, an application might choose to have a shortcut it shouldn't.

Cmd-delete not working after 1.5.2 ?

After updating to 1.5.2 I have noticed that while in finder cmd-delete and cmd-z no longer work.
I can delete and redo if I go to File on the top bar, or drag to the Trash.
Its the same if I try and delete something from the desktop or from a finder window.
Do I have to reactivate this function somewhere?

Go into System Preferences->Keyboard&Mouse->Keyboard Shortcuts and click the "Restore Defaults" button. See if that fixes it. If not, try plugging in a different keyboard to make sure that its not a problem with your keyboard. Good luck...

If you want to test to make sure your cfc is working
correctly, invoke it from a Cold Fusion template.
To test getting data from a cfc to flex, use as simple a cfc
as you can write.
Once you have done both separately, combine them.

Mxmc-install.cmd do not work (windows 2003/oracle)

I'm trying to install the IC (oracle) as per Installation guide.
I have just installed a Nw 7.1 CE EHP1 with Oracle and so, I have a DB on my server (sid = IM1)
When I run the script mxmc-install.cmd, after i have put some pswd I receive som error.

Adcmctl.cmd does not work on windows???.

I have some questions. Plz clear my doubts.
1). On windows when i start Applications services using adstrtal.cmd it starts all services but not conc. manger. I have to specifically go into services and start the conc. manager services. It happens same with adcmctl.cmd
Is there any method to start conc, manager from cmd prompt in windows.
c:\> sc start .... is it correct.
2). Is ORACLE_SID variable optional in Windows. Is it eqivalent to LOCAL.
3). On WINDOWS what is the difference between .env and .cmd file. I use envshell.cmd but there are other files with .env extention. Why these files are there.
4). The conc. manager log file name in %APPLCSF%\%APPLLOG% is'nt it SID_DDMM.log in windows machines.
5). Can i run autoconfig with out sourcing envshell.cmd, if i do this does it fail. I always run corresponding (APPS/DB) environment file but i ask my self is it mandatory, as it takes all values from context file.
6). When i run autoconfig on windows, does it change Registry values.
7). In 8.0.6 O_H on windows, i can't find tnsping but i see tnsping80. Is it the same as tnsping. But on linux i can find tnsping in 8.0.6 O_H.
8)when running Purge conc. req and/or manager data , age or limit values. If i set limit to 4000, does it delete files created before latest 4000 files.
And if i submit age 30, does it delete files older than 30 days.
9). When relinking fnd executables, can these PALIBR, INVLIBR processes be kept running. Or i need to kill all the executables found in $FND_TOP/bin need to be killed. Should i stop all FNDLIBR processes.
