Cmpilation Issue in I-tunes 12
I am using I-tunes in Windows 8.1. My normal working environment is Playlist/Music where I can see Name Artist Album Genre etc.
My issue is that in this environment I cannot see all the songs in an Album that was made into a compilation by I-tunes. I did go into the MY MUSIC environment and grab all the songs so that I could uncheck compilation. Indication is that is worked and all the songs show up everywhere else except where I work as mentioned above. I would actually like compilations just completely turned off in I-tunes as I have no use for the feature. Just causes me grief.
Pointers please.
I'm not sure that I understand the issue. The "Part of a Compilation" flag is part of the rules that iTunes uses to group songs into albums (and, in many senses, a redundant one, since the Album Artist field can be used for the same purpose and with greater flexibility). The setting of this flag should be irrelevant in Songs view, except as it may be part of the rules used to sort the songs - e.g., if you choose to sort by Album then all songs that:
have the same Album value
have the "Part of a Compilation" flag checked
will be grouped together in the listing, However, if you're viewing your complete library in Songs mode, all songs should be there independent of the Compilation flag.
If you need to see which songs in your library have this flag set, create a Smart Playlist as follows:
which will list all songs for which the flag is checked.

Jewel Case printing issues on i-tunes 11
Why won't i-tunes 11 prind a cd jewel case insert properly on my HP 4500 deskjet. Every other edition did. it prints the title of the playlist then jumbles all of the song titles on top of one another. Orint preview looks correct, A songlist NOT the size of a jewwl case insert prints the way it is supposed to. quite annoying.
A huge shout out needs to go to Apple senior advisor John Altamirano. After I sent him some system diagnostics and i-tunes info which he forwarded to Apple engineers the jewel case printing issue for windows users has been resolved with the i-tunes 11.0.1 update that was released today, Thank you John.

Is anyone else having issues with i tunes after latest upgrade?
After downloading i tunes update, I was initally getting Error message..." The program cannot start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try re-installing the program to fix this problem." After several attempts to re install i tunes to fix the issue I ultimately deleted/uninstalled all apple programs from my computer and then attempted to re install i tunes. Now i continue to get "Apple application support not found." Apple application support is required to run i tunes helper. Please uninstall itunes, then install itunes again. Error #2" Can anyone out there help?? I do not know what else to do??

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?

Ichat dropping out issue with Broadband Tuner?
All,
I posted before when I was having this issue and Ralph suggested that since I had a FIOS connection and OS 10.3 I limit my bandwith to 100 in video preferences. That fix works(thanks Ralph), although my image is not as crisp.
Now I have 10.5.2 and downloaded the Broadband Tuner. Still have issue with Ichat just breaking down (running connection doctor show audio and video dropping off). I was wondering if I maybe need to do something else besides just install the Tuner? It came up with a successful install, but it seems like it is doing nothing?
Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure where to look on a Mac to find out if it is working or not.
I would recheck the Bandwidth option in iChat to see which works best for your try anything up to 500kbps.
Do you know if your Connection speed is varying greatly ?
This is the normal issue with FiOS.

Proximity issue with Air Tunes
Hi-
I have read several posts about this but nothing directly related to what I have found.
I have been using an Airport Express for years specifically for steaming music wirelessly via Air Tunes. In the last several months I have noticed that intermittently Air Tunes cuts out. Recently I have found that this has to do with the proximity of my iPhone or other devices proximity to the Air Port Express.
As soon as I get within a few feet of the Air Port Express the music will cut off, when I move further away it resumes. I have tested this extensively and can replicate it without issue so it really seems to be a proximity issue.
This never used to happen, but now happens all the time. I have an IPhone 5 but the problem occurred with my iPhone 4. It also occurs with my wife’s iPhone 3GS and my iPad (first gen).
Has anyone else noticed this proximity issue with streaming wirelessly?Thanks Chris for this link.

Gee Wiz, A lot of information out on this,
My resolve was simple
Save to Desktop
Right Click Make Sure not blocked
Then rename Icon to executable file, add .exe to the end and wholla the icon change to install icon and works
Just sayinI don't know what issue you were having, but clearly not the one that is affecting most.

My itunes would not open up for me. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it and it still will not open up for me. What can I try next?
KellyPossibly I have the same situation. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times. I have posted a question and no one at Apple has responded to me yet. Diagnostics say my laptop cannot reach the Apple site. I have a desktop that accesses just fine via the same network. Clearly it appears to me a permissions issue with the new software that my laptop does not auto adjust to or for. I am running XP Pro on both machines and have no problem accessing the internet, as you can see.

I have Itunes installed but I am trying to update to Version 8.2 and keep receiving the following message during installation.
"Could Not Open Key: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\Interface\{915DA835-02FE-4953-92FA-624BDFD85AB}ProxyStu bClsid. Verifty that you have suffiecent access to that key, or contact your support personnel."
I have since tried to uninstall and was met with the same message. I tried a manual uninstall and deleted all the registry entries I could find for Itunes then tried to install again and had the same problem. I now have no itunes and cannot update my Iphone to 3.0.
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

In Step 5. I dont have a previous iTunes libraries folder. I have a folder called ITunes on my E drive but it only contains individual music files.
In step 6 Is the iTunes library refered to the same one as dragged to the desktop in step4 ?
In step 7 Is this itunes folder the original one or the new one ?
I dont understand what step 8 means at all.
Sorry for the dumb questions but the linked instructions dont make sense to me.

I just upgraded to 7.1 today and have been having issues with air tunes. For some reason when playing songs they will drop out continuously every so many seconds (usually between 30-50).
I am not doing anything different than normal, I'm not running any huge programs like photoshop while this error is occuring.
As anyone else been having this issue?I've had choppy playback so much I could puke.
One reason seems to be if memory is filling up. See Activity Monitor and if the green part of memory is going away, that's one reason. Seems the only solution is to reboot as quitting all programs doesn't bring back any green and doesn't solve skipping problems.
Another reason is some other activity. If you're scrolling fast or crunching pixels in Photoshop, that could cause skips in the moment. It shouldn't, but it happens to me, and has been happening for a year or two.
But I think this latest release has some problem. Suddenly there's lots of threads talking about it. ANd I have it skipping with 3gigs of free ram free, and only Safari showing a simple page running on it.
The first song after I reboot, plays ok, but then it stutters, like fifty or a hundred periods of silence per song, scattered around randomly, each 0.1 to 1 second long. All songs finish, if you call that finishing, and they seem to take the correct amount of time to finish.
Maddening. iTunes is my stereo now!! will I have to go back to the old CD player?

Performance issue with statement

Library issues with Windows 7 (64 Bit)
I have just upgraded to a new computer and have had enormous issues with I tunes 64 bit for Windows 7. I had my music on another disc which I have mounted into the new computer. It is the same drive name (D) as on my old computer (Windows XP 32 bit). I Tunes finds my libray and I can see all my songs. However, 1. All of my existing artwork is missing.
2. When I try to play any song it says file not found?
I have authorised the new PC, but still no joy.Did you download the 64bit version of iTunes? I have Win7 Pro 64 bit and iTunes works on my pc. Just keep in mind that when you upgrade your OS, that doesn't mean that your programs automatically switch to 64 bit too, you may need to do a lot of re-installing of some of your programs
