CMS configuration

Hi experts.
I'm facing the following problem: I´m using PI 7.0 and trying to configure and use CMS to transport the XI objects. I have follow all the steps of the SDN CMS manual. But when I try to export the objects, the transport option doesn´t let me change the value. Only Transporting using file system appears.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Leandro

  • CMS Configuration Problem

    Hi Folks,
While configuring NWDI - CMS, under Transport Studio, we need to put SAP-JEE.sca, SAP_BUILDT.sca and SAP_JTECHS.sca files under \usr\sap\JTrans\CMS\inbox. so that these files can be seen in Checked-In tab.
Usually these files can be found under \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\CMS_CBS\plugins but in my j2ee these files are not available.
I downloaded these files from marketplace which are retrieved in .zip format. on Extraction i did'nt get any .sca file. i renamed these file to .sca and put in CMS Inbox but all in vain.
    Please help.

    Hi Anil,
    Thanks for reply,
These mentioned components are available in SLD and for my SC i created Build Time dependency on these components.
After creating Domain and Track Under Landscape Configurator, i need to Check-In these .sca files to from CHECK-IN tab and Import Checks to Development tab.
I am not getting .sca files in Check - In tab of Transport studio.

  • Upgrade SP09 to SP14 SLD and CMS configuration lost

    Hi all,
I have upgraded the Java Infrastructure successfully, but I had to reconfigure the SLD (object server etc.) as well as the CMS track information in order to get the Infrastructure working again. Luckyly I only had a test track with test components set up otherwise I assume I would have lost my work.
Is this supposed to happen? I can't imagine that this is the way an upgrade for a development infrastructure should work. Somehow the configuration data should be stored and reimported after the upgrade.
Maybe I missed something during the upgrade regarding the preserving of the configuration data.
Has anyone made the same/a better experience during the JDI upgrade?
    Any input is greatly appreciated.
    BR Helga

    Hi Helga,
I did several updates of NWDI yet and never had such a problem.
    My updates

  • Problem in NWDI - CMS configuration.

    Hi
I have a problem in NWDI product creation. Actually I follow the steps given in
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0b1f2c8-54e0-2910-9ab3-b85f15093655
I successfully created Track and configured the landscape in CMS - as per the link.
Then I try to check-in component in transport studio of CMS, There is no check-in component listed in the check-in tab. I don't know what to do further? Plz suggest solution.
    Regards
    Saba

    Hi,
    which components are missing?
Do you need the standard J2EE Components from SAP?
All SDA Files that you havn't created on your own, you have to  put into the folder <Drive>:\usr\sap\JTrans\CMS\inbox.Like SAP_BUILDT.sca, SAP_JTECHS.sca and SAP-JEE.sca. You own DC's must not be checked in. They will be visible in the Development Tab after activacan and release in the NWDI.

  • NWDI Configuration: CMS

    hi,
We are trying to configure NWDI and in this process, we had completed all the steps for NWDI installation and configuration and also the CMS configuration, Product & SC Definition in SLD now during the creation of Tracks using CMS, we are not able to see the Software component created in the SLD.
Any idea how to solve this.
    Thanks and regards,
    Kris

    Kris,
Couple of things, which might help:
    1. Go to CMS/Landscape Configurator/Domain Data
Make sure SLD URL field has correct data and press "Update CMS" button.
CMS will sync component data from SLD. If it fails, check log files for explanation. If success, you will see new components from SLD.
    2. NWDI questions are better answered if posted to NWDI forum
    SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI)
There are good NWDI experts monitoring the forum.

  • Configuring NWDI and CMS

    Hi,
We did a Development portal installation (DEV) with NMDI and finished the DI post installation in the DEV system and configured my SLD in solution manager. Now we are going to install Portal Quality system (QAD) with NWDI. I need some documents after installing QAD system, like DI post installation and CMS configuration from quality to development system. I mean to say that, DEV as a Domain controller and QAD to include in that CMS. Before doing the DI post installation in QAD, do I need to change the Domain data of change management in Quality like CMS name, CMS url, CMS user, password, trans dir, Domain ID(if so,Can we change this ID to DEV), DTR url, CBS url. If so, do I need to give the datau2019s of Development system? or how to configure my quality system CMS to development system CMS. I found some links but there is no link that says about the configuration in development.
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Ral

    Hi Narendra.
    Thanks for reply.
While defining Software Component, I created a Build Time Dependency on these components and chosen SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT and SAP_JTECHS components.
While defining a Track under Domain in CMS (Landscape Configuration) i am not getting these dependent components under my SC.
So after adding SC to my track, i again Defined Dependencies on my SC. Now i can see these components under my SC but gives warning that "SC Dependencies are different but accepted by synchronization" and status of SC is yellow.
    Please suggest.

  • Changing CMS location for Data Services 4.0 on Unix

    Hello
I'm new at this forum but think I'll stay for a while for the newest items of Data Services Products.
My question is if there's a way to change the initial CMS configuration that I put on the install procedure of Data Services 4.0 over a Unix server??
The reason is because now I will install DS 4 with IPS locally, but later we need to use the CMS of a BO 4.0 server locate on other machine.
    thanks for your help!
    Ricardo.

you want to migrate your DS configuration from local IPS to a IPS(CMS) running on Unix server ?
I think you can do that by exporting the DS CMS related objects from local IPS to a BIAR file and importing them into CMS running on Unix (check if Upgrade Management Tool is available in IPS, you can use to do Export and Import)

  • What port do I use in setting a FrameMaker CMS connection to a SharePoint site?

I can connect to our corporate SharePoint site to a top level directory but I can't drill down to subdirectories. I do have the proper permissions since I can see all of the directories through our SharePoint site. I can add/delete/rename etc. using the SharePoint interface. I am trying to connect to a subdirectory on our SharePoint server that contains FrameMaker files. When I enter the domain, username, password, etc., it does connect but only to the top directory level and I can't drill down to subdirectories. I was wondering is there anything else I need to do in setup such as a port number. I have my CMS configuration setup with no port number. When I had a local SharePoint server this worked just fine and I could drilldown to any subdirectory.
I have put the entire URL to the subdirectory but it does not let me connect I get a 404 error. It does let me connect to the top level directory but, as I said, I can't drilldown to where the FM files reside.

Not sure if it would help, but it's worth asking:  When you provide your user name, do you include the domain (e.g. mydomain\myusername)?

  • Content Management Configuration in WebLogic Portal 9.2 Beta

    Hello All,
I am aware of configuring Content Management System to Third Party CMS using a DMBase directory reference in the application-config.xml in WLP 4.0, 7.0 and 8.1 Versions...
This also include the DocumentConnectionPool to point to the Database where the METADATA is stored.
But how do I do this in 9.2 Beta Version. I did read thru the cm.pdf where they talk about the CMS configuration.
Where do I configure the DMBase direcory?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Pazhanikanthan. P

    Hi,
You can use the "i18n" tags associated with resource files.
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs92/i18n/utilities.html
Also, in netuix-config.xml, you can enable localisation and choose the default locale:
    <localization>
    <enable>true</enable>
    <default-locale language="fr" country="FR"/>
    </localization>
By default, the locale will be chosen from attributes in the request. But if you want to change this behavior (for example decide the locale from the URL), you can develop a custom LocaleProvider (com.bea.netuix.servlets.l10n.LocaleProvider)
    Best regards

  • WAAS CM Configuration Issue

I have a WAE running 4.1.3 that registered successfully to the CM but is failing to pull the config from the CM (also at 4.1.3).
It shows up as activated and online, but nothing shows up under the Services column within CM - where you typically see Application Accelerator.
Debugging CMS on the edge WAE showed 'Failed to Connect to CMS configuration consumer. Unable to connect.'
Has anyone experienced this? All other WAE's in my environment have registed and been able to pull config from CM w/o issue.

I would recommend that you try to do a cms deregister force on the accelerator, and delete it from the central manager GUI. Then try re-registering to the CM and see if that will fix the issues.
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • NWDS settings to import NWDI configurations

    Hello,
I am trying to import the CMS configurations onto my NWDS. I have entered the NWDI url in Windows -> Preferences -> JDI -> Development Configuration Pool. However, when I try to log in from NWDS, it points to an old url that I had been using until recently, and thus the login fails. I have replaced the old url with the new one as mentioned.
The error I get is: Build Server http://<Old Host>:<Old Port>: Invalid Username and/or Password
I don't understand from where it is picking up the old host and port details. Is there any place else I need to change the URLs in the NWDS to import the configurations from my new NWDI server?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Reena
(When I had imported the NWDI configurations to my NWDS with the old server, the Development Configuration Pool was the only place I had entered the URL. I wonder why it's not working now!! )

    Hi,
    Follow these steps,
    1. Close your NWDS.
    2. Navigate to this path in your file system <installation drive>:/Documents and settings/<logged in user>
Now, delete the .dtc and .sdtgui folders from here.
    3. Open your NWDS, set the new url for the sld as you specified above.
    4. Try importing the configuration.

  • CMS Behaviour in XI - Clarifications needed

    Hi All,
We have CMS configured in our landscape (indvidual SLDs for DEV, QA and PRD with CMS sitting on DEV SLD). Have been using CMS between DEV and QA quite from some time and was using file transports between QA and PRD. When we tried for the first time CMS between QA and PRD, instead of copying the only exported objects in the transport from DEV to QA, it has transported all the objects of that SWCV from QA to PRD, which made our lives worse.
Is this the normal way CMS behaves between the CONSOL and PRD systems? can't we transport delta objects from DEV to all the way till PRD using CMS (belonging to single name space)?
Or is it that, for the first time CMS behaves this way and setsup itself for further transports?
If that is not the case, do we have to design each interface in a separate SWCV, so that, each time, the entire SWCV gets transported from QA to PRD, though part of the changed objects have been transported from DEV?
    Thanks in advance.

Since you are saying that, this is a work around, Can I assume that, CMS moves all the objects of a SWCV to PRD system from the CONSOL system (after assembly and approva steps) when ever I have exported any thing from DEV to CONSOL system using CMS? Is this the expected behaviour with CMS wrt XI?
    Now -
If I have updated a datatype and interface of a single name space of a SWCV in DEV sys repository, and would want to transport it to PRD. For this the steps should be -
    1. Select the objects in DEV at namespace level and export them to QA using CMS.
    2. Before moving any other transports from DEV to QA, assmble these changes in CMS and move them to Approve status.
    3. If the testing does not go well, go to step 1.
    4. When testing goes well, approve the assembly that has been assemble previously and move it to PRD.
Should the above steps be the best way to go about with CMS?
    Naveen please comment and confirm..
