CMSS 5.1 Analog on a Audigy Gamer, not possible b/c no analog center/sub outpu

Hi I have an Audigy Gamer there is outputs for only 2 analog stereo jacks ( Speaker Set , and speaker set 2) there is no third jack for the that last connector Sub/Center.<SPAN> What gives?<SPAN> I thought the Audigy was compatible with 5. systems? I guess they only mean ac-3 digital audio output huh.<SPAN> If this is the case, what is the cheapest SB card I can upgrade to with the standard 3 sets of analog jacks so that I can get proper full surround with the triple (Green/front pair, black/rear pair, black/center and sub) analog wires?
Thx in advance
-Riddler

<SPAN>Thank you! I had my digital coax connected there with an adapter, but since that can only carry ac-3 and stereo signals im better of using direct 5 chan ( i don?t watch movies on my PC... that?s what the home theater is for) Most games use EAX or some other direct sound, so ill stick with 5. direct analog. who would have thought the digital jack was also for center/sub heh.

<SPAN>Thanks again man!

  • Audigy Gamer not found by Wondows XP - Emu10kx installing inst

I have bee using an audigy gamer quite succesfully for the past year or so. Today, I upgraded my motherboard and cpu. my new motherboard has built on sound (as they all do now) that I have DISABLED in BIOS. I reinstalled a fresh copy of WindowsXP so the drivers would not be messed up with a new motherboard. I can see in my device manager that Creative Audigy Audio Proccesor (WDM) is on my list of installed and working devices...but i get no sound at all. I looked in my sound settings though windows and it shows my default sound device as Emu0kx Audio. This sounds like the same problems I read other people having but here is the difference... I still have my original CD! I used it, twice now, to try to install my card correctly, but nothing changes, still no sound. I downloaded the AUD_EAX4DRV_0303.exe pack from creative's web site but when I try to use it, it says no sound blaster audigy found on your system. I can assure you, it is in there. like I said before, it worked fine until I swapped motherboard and processor. I went from an MSI board with an Athlon 800+ to an MSI board (K8T Neo) with an Athlon 64 3400+. I have already tried moving it to a new PCI slot and that does not work either. I have downloaded all updates for my motherboard already. I checked with MSI, they say that this card is tested and works fine with their board. Also, the game port off my audigy is not showing up. I dont know if this is related to the same problem or not. One last thing, the firewire port on my audigy DOES work. So, this means, the card IS being found, but not found as an audigy. Please help!!!

Same problem here, it seems Microsoft has decided we should all be using this Kx driver instead. Is just as well because it works and CL can't manage to write drivers for thier own products anymore for some reason. I believe they may be trying to run some type of forced obsoescense on us. I do give them props for sharing the necessary specs to the ALSA people as my SBAudigy2 platinum works great on Ubuntu Linux using the ALSA driver.
but yeah, why does creative even offer the drivers online, NOBODY can install them, the installer is either broken or some firmware change or something makes it look like not a SB card so the installer will never work to install the driver. At least with the EMU0kx driver you have audio. If you force it via CTZAP on the CD it will install a non working driver and nothing will detect a Soundblaster card.
Cliffs: There are no drivers for the Soundblaster audigy series on Windows XP any more give up looking. A fresh install of windows and using your Install CD does not work, moving the card to a new PCI slot does not work, uninstalling the card drivers and hardware then reinstalling does not work. Creative is known for supplying great hardware and horrible software, sad but true.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer not being recogni

Hi, I own the Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer. It had been working fine before I needed to update the drivers. When I tried to update the drivers it said that no Audigy Card was being detected and that the Setup would close. The first person at Creative I called told me that all I needed to do was to move the sound card to a different slot. I did, but the problem still occured. The second person told me to do a clean-sweep of the card, as persay of SID72, a KB article. I did that, but also it had the same problem. The third time I called he told me that I should try it in another computer, and I do not have any at the moment. What am I to do? I have checked the IRQ, it has IRQ#5 all to itself. I will try to move the PCI slot again though. Windows asks me every time I boot that I need to install the drivers. Should I do that?

  • No Center/Sub from Audigy using Klipsch Promedia 5.1 (analog) - NOT a CMSS/digital output qu

<FONT face=Garamond>I am receiving no center/sub output from my Audigy Platinum card. I have had the card installed on the same system (P4 3.0/ASUS P4800 Mobo/Win XP Pro SP2) for a couple of years with no problems. I recently began experiencing intermittent loss of my center/sub channel. Since I have not changed the connections in quite some time, I was able to rule out an improper output connection. Also, I was able to independently test the speakers themselves and the center and sub are both functioning. Additionally, I switched my Klipsch volume/channel output controller to headphone mode and ran the Creative Speaker diagnostic and I hear four channels (FR/FL/RR/RL) in the headphones (as I do with my front and rear speakers) but I <EM>do not</EM> receive any signal for the center channel (i.e., no "center channel" speech signal). Based on all of the above, I am certain that the speakers are functioning correctly (I am of course using them in analogue mode), there is no "switch" on the rear of the subwoofer for 2/2., all of my Creative and windows software are configured for 5. audio. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all of the creative drivers and software (using Driver Cleaner Pro in Windows Safe Mode) and reinstalled from my original Audigy CD and then performed a complete Auto Update from the Soundblaster.com site. <Still no center/sub even in diagnostic test!!!!
    <FONT face=Garamond color=#ff0000 size=4>
I want to be clear: I am not confused about CMSS 5. gaming/audio issues; I believe this is purely a soundcard output issue. Despite all the grousing I read about the Creative driver series, I have been most happy with the Audigy Plat card. It has performed extremely well with the Klipsch 5. in gaming, DVD, and audio contexts for several years through numerous driver updates. I know how to configure the settings to get true 5. in any context. However, now I am completely stumped. Is there anything I have overlooked or might try so I do not have to conclude that this great card has just "crapped out" and now needs to be replaced?
    Thanks for listening.

  • Audigy Gamer driver iss

I cannot get the latest drivers for the Audigy Gamer (E400) to work correctly with my card no matter what I do. I'm running off a clean WinXP install with SP2. I installed AUD_EAX4DRV_0303.exe, then updated my AudioHQ, then installed AUD_WEBUP_PCWDRV_-84-40.exe. Upon installation I get sound, my mixer works, and AudioHQ works (EQ, ENV, FX presets all funciton). But when any game attempts to use EAX, I get no sound. If I alt-tab out of the game, and load AudioHQ, all of my ENV, EQ, and FX settings are blank. As soon as I exit the game, AudioHQ returns to normal and my sound returns. I've tried updating drivers every way possible, and nothing's changed. I have to use old drivers, and the old drivers produce very poor EAX effects, if any, but they are the only drivers that actually function fully.
    System Specs:
    MSI KT3 Ultra2 (Via KT333)
    AthlonXP 800+
    52 MB PC2700
    40 GB WD 7200RPM
    40 GB Maxtor 7200RPM
    Audigy Gamer (E400)
    MSI GeForce 3 Ti 200
    DirectX 9.0c
    Windows XP Professional w/SP2
If there is anybody out there who has gotten this card to work correctly, i'd very much appreciate your guidance. The lack of driver support on this card is pathetic to say the least, and it does not give me any encouragement to ever purchase a Creative Labs card again. I know there are ways to use Audigy 2 drivers with this card, but i'd like to first hear if there are any real fixes for this card.
    Thanks for any help!

    Avenger55,
The problem that you are dealing with here is that the original driver CD you have predates Windows XP. It is possible to get the CD install to work under XP by doing what we discussed earlier, however it appears there may be a third detail that is causing the trouble here. I noticed that you are running a VIA chipset, are you running the latest version of the Hyperion 4 in drivers? If not you should go to www.viaarena.com and get the update. The newest drivers should work with your system without trouble as long as the system is up to date.
You might also consider ordering our latest install CD for the Audigy as it contains the latest drivers for the Audigy along with all of the updated software. You can order it from our Direct Sales department who can be contacted at -800-998-000 option #.

  • Dtt3500 and Audigy Gamer, digital output only 2 channel unless its D

Ok I recieved a response concerning my last comment but unfortunatly it did not answer my question at all. I have a DTT3500 and a sound blaster Audigy Gamer hooked up with the digital out to the /8 din adapter. I try the advanced 3d demo that came with the Audigy software and I only hear the front 2 channels, no center and no rears. The demo where you move the little icons and sound moves along with it. I have 5. activated in my windows control center along with audioHQ and digital out only is selected. my DTT3500 has 4./5. digital selected along with dolby digital/pcm audio and digital in. I am not getting the effect of multisurround at all. My center works and my rears work because playing music I can use all 5 speakers. When I use the analogue outputs I hear multisurround from the advanced 3d demo but my center doesnt work. The analogue setup sounds better but without a center channel its useless to me. Am I doing something wrong? I am using the adapter and digital DIN, what gives? The only reason I noticed I wasnt getting surround was while playing games nothing comes from behind you even on 5. games. The goldmine demo doesnt even work right, when the bird flys behind you it disappears but there is still sound from the rears. Analogue fixes this without a center but the manual and setup say to use the digital din. Do I just have a setting wrong? I would like to experiance the full capacity of multispeakers in my games.

    Dennis,
With these speakers the connection that I would suggest would be to use the Digital out on the back of the sound card into the DIN Input on the DTT3500's. This will require a converter cable for /8'' Minidin to standard DIN which can be purchased from here:
    http://us.creative.com/products/prod...0&product=0375
You will also need a standard DIN cable (one should have shipped with your DTT3500's).
This should give you 5. with digital output only enabled on the Audigy.

  • Audigy Gamer and HTIB (Home Theater in a B

    Hi,
I would like to play DVDs on my PC and output the sound to my HTIB speakers. I've bought a Camcorder A/V cable that has a 4-pole minijack, plugged it into the Gamer at one end and the coax (RCA) in on the DVD player at the other end. I'm not getting any sound at all. I tried using a couple of different free DVD software players, InterActual and PowerDVD.
I've read on this forum that only the purchased, more sophisticated DVD player software will allow this. Before I shell out for a full-featured program, can someone from Creative verify whether or not the Audigy Gamer is capable of sending sound to a HTIB?
    Many thanks,
    gcube

    TheJ,
That's exactly the info I needed. I was under the mistaken impression that Windows XP magically updated my hardware drivers, so I didn't even look at that possibility. I downloaded/installed the Console, found the S/PDIF passthrough and finally got sound out of my HTIB speakers.
The sound was choppy to start with but sorted itself out without my doing anything.
In case this may be of use to others, these are the settings I used:In AudioHQ:AC-3 Decode uncheckedSpeakers = 5.Digital Out Only checked
In Audio ConsoleSpeakers = 5.CMSS2 option selectedDecoder = Passthrough
All other settings were default ones.
Hardware from La Source (formerly Radio Shack here in Canada) Cable = Nexxtech Evolution Audio/Video Dubbing Cable 7.2m (24ft) part number 50539N (RCA male both ends) $4.99 CdnAdapter = Nexxtech Gol-Plated Phono Jack to /8" (3.5mm) mono phone plug. Part number 2740897 $4.49 Cdn
La Source also has a Shielded Audio Cable with the correct plugs (no adapter needed) part number 4202444N for $6.99 Cdn. I have not tested it because it was too short (.8m or 6ft) for my setup, but I don't see why it should not work.
Once again, many thanks for the help.g3

  • Audigy Gamer prob

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer that I bought quite a while ago. It is retail and installs fine off of the CD (drivers, applications, etc.). Because the drivers on the CD are so old I want to update them. I downloaded the AUD_WEBUP_PCWDRV_-84-40 driver setup program off of Creative's site but it gives me the "Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audigy on your system."
In the device manager there is the Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM) and it is enabled and is shown as working properly, which it is. The sound works through the card and everything plays okay but I want to update the drivers and everything for the next generation games and whatnot (though I probably should just upgrade the card, but that is irrelevant).
The web setup program is an .exe file so I cannot just extract it and get the drivers out so I don't really know how to get around this detection problem. Any help would be appreciated.System:AMD Athlon 64 3400+EPoX 8KDA series motherboardBFG GeForce 6800 OC

  • Muffled audio from rear speakers using Audigy Gamer

I just upgraded my mobo to the asrock 939Dual-SATA2, and was using the 7. onboard audio until the buzzing/humming everytime I moved the mouse finally got to me. I also missed being able to skew the sound slightly to my rear speakers.
I finally decided to reinstall my Audigy Gamer. I was very disappointed to discover the rear speakers playing awfully. The music is very muffled and nothing like the front speakers.
Before I upgraded my mobo these monsoon 5. speakers played great with the audigy gamer. They also played great with the 7. onboard audio.
    Can anyone help me?

Read through this lot and see how you go.

  • Audigy Gamer hardware accelerated or not??

    Hi there friends!!
hey! My first post here and asking for some help My english is quite bad so I will try my best. I just bought a Sound Blaster "Audigy () Gamer" used to a friend for replace the onboard Soundmax AC97 of my ASUS A7V8X-X mobo. I disable that one on BIOS and I installed the Audigy Gamer with the latest drivers (Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 series and Audigy 4 series Driver 02.09.006) all went fine. I test the sound with DXDIAG and all test went fine BUT here my question, the hardware acceleration is working fine? I ask this because in ONE part of the DX 9.0c settings table it says "software" and in all the others says "hardware"
please check this screen capture I take of that "problem" here :
    http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/6834/audigy2pw.jpg
(main text in spanish but is the same dxdiag that you use to see there...)
check that "Default Port Acceleration" figures "Enabled" (Aceleracion Predet. del puerto: Habilitado -in spanish-)
so... those settings are fine like that? is normal to see "software" there but the card is really using FULL hardware acceleration?
just want to make sure my card is installed and working well with all features...
I try the game "Armed Assault" and the sounds are MUCH nicer and clear with this card, I didn?t hear anymore the "popping" I use to have with the onboard card (yeah!) so that make me think that the hardware acceleration have to be running ok helping the CPU to handle better the game sounds... but that is just a thought.
thanks for any help with this doubt I have with this used, old but nice card....
    cya!

Don't worry that tab is only for DirectMusic, the hardware synths on SB cards use soundfonts and can be accessed via?standard?MIDI but even those have nothing to do with games nowadays.

  • Audigy Gamer re install prob

I am trying to re install my Audigy Gamer sound card and when I attempt this with the original install disk I get a error message saying that "Setup could not detect any sound blaster audigy on your system. Please ensure that your sound blaster hardware is properly installed before running this setup program. Setup will exit now". When I look in the device manager I can see that Windows has a "Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM)" listed.
How is it possible that Windows sees Audigy hardware and yet Audigy's own install software doesn't? Also how can I get this thing properly installed ? I've un installed it several times and physically removed the card already and after 3 hours of this fun stuff I am right back where I started.
    Thanks for any help

Hi. I've got the same problem after reinstalling windows and installing sp2. I keep getting the same error messages. few times on reinstall of old drivers from the cd it actualy went frough with installation and there actualy was sound at windows shut down. but on starup nothing again. tried reinstalling few times. tried installing new updated drivers, but thouse would not install at all! tried changing pci slots, nothing.. and it seems that creatives techs or c.s. reps have no interest in looking in forum nor they have any idea what the problem is with this issue . I suspect it has to do with sp2 update. may be direct x issue. but can't roll back to previuse version of direct x without reinstalling the sp2. any one has any idea how to fix this sound card issue?

  • Audigy Gamer + XP Pro + Via Chip

    Howdy,
I originally installed my Audigy Gamer when I had Win98SE loaded on this PC. When I upgraded to XP Pro I had alot of problems. I wrote Tech Support, and they answered, saying the system had another sound device somewhere, that's what was causing the problem. There were no other sound devices, and I finally got the card to operate enough to play sounds. None of the CL software would work, the sound was crackly, but it was good enough to race with.
    (a year later)
Lastnight I decided to give it a go at trying to get it installed correctly. What a huge mistake. The updated driver file completely slammed my PC. The CD-Roms were corrupted, along with a system file for PnP. I uninstalled everything, ran the ZAPP file from the CD, then reinstalled the card. XP saw it upon bootup, loaded the drivers, then asked for a reboot. I got the dreaded "No Sound Card Found" message.
Here's the freaky part. I can go into Device Manager and it shows the Audigy card. Properties says it's "Operating Properly". "There are no conflicts". But in Control Panel, under Sound, it says "No Audio Device Present". If I go to the "hardware" tab,.. it'll show the Audigy card. (??)
DirectX also doesn't list the card. I have read a few forums,.. and most of the people say that it's a combination of the Audigy card, XP Pro, and the Via Chipset on my MSI motherboard.
    Is there a work around?
Can I get this thing loaded and operating properly?
I've wasted enough time fiddling with it already. More info: I built the PC, am fairly PC intelligent,.. am doing everything right as far as I can tell. I can't run any of the software updates from the site evn though the drivers are already installed because the install process stops when it can't find a creative audio device.
Any help would be appreciated. This card wasn't cheap,.. and I'd hate to toss it in the dumpster and swear off Creative products,.. I'd rather get it installed and stop whining.
    Thanks.
    Tim Casey

For anybody else having this same problem, continue reading the posts, or:
Go to Device Manager, look in System,.. is Plug and Play Software Enumerator" there?
    If not,... (XP)
Search for "machine.inf", copy it to a Temp folder somewhere. Open it up and delete line 20 "ExcludeFromSelect". Save file to the new Temp folder. Search for "swenum.sys", copy it to the same Temp folder.
Then go to Control Panel, Add New Hardware,.. Have Disk,.. Browse to the Temp folder,.. "OK",.. then "System",... scroll down and highlight "Plug and Play Software Enumerator".
