Cmyk icon too saturated

Hello,
I don't recall working in Tiger that the CMYK icon preview to be over-saturated? Lion Icon previews of CMYK files are not accurate in color. I wonder if a tweak or preferrence can be applied to make the icon preview look more like the color space of the file?

I figured it out. In Photoshop 5 in the prefs under File Handling, I need to check the "Icon" under "File Saving Options." The Icon preview matches the CMYK color space now!

  • RED is too saturated on my monitor. What can I do?

    Hello,
I'm using a Apple Cinema Display HD 23". I calibrated the display with the Leopard control panel but it seams that my monitor has a reddish tone compared to the monitors in our office.
I runed the calibration process several times but still, the red color is *way too saturated*.

Thank you Cmaig for your reply. Yes, I probably created a bit of a confusion with my 'reddish tone'. Well, the colors are ok, the red is just way too strong. If I create a graphic on my computer I have to boost up the red saturation in Photoshop by +35, so that the graphic looks the way I want on other computers (On my computer it now looks just red). I have to do that because my monitor displays the red too strong.
BTW, I don't use any Photoshop color correction. I also see the same effect when browsing through the internet with Firefox or Safari.
I also have a MacBookPro with Leopard. I also calibrated the display and the colors are the way they should...

  • CS4 Color looks too saturated on Screen?

Hi all, not sure why but my color in CS4 Photoshop look oversaturated.
When I view them with ACDsee viewer or Canon software they both look the same. But when I use photoshop the images look too saturated. It's not easy to edit my photos, as the out put does not look the same as when I am editing.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, awaiting any messages that may help out.

What are your colour management policies in the Color Settings panel? And do you calibrate your monitor?
You can get increased saturation -- actually ugly colors -- if assigning a higher gammut profile to an image tagged with a lower gammut profile, e.g. assign AdobeRGB to an sRGB image.
(Note that 'Assigning' a profile gives far different results than 'Converting to' a profile.)

  • Photoshop CS6 Menus and Icons too small on Windows 8.1 with 4K UHD display

    Hello,
So I have seen that I am not the first one to ask this question, but I have yet to find any true resolutions.  I recently bought anew laptop, a Lenovo with a 4K UHD display which I already love for so many things.  But, like a few other programs, the high resolution means the icons and menu text of PS CS6 are incredibly small, which may be alright on a TV, but on a laptop screen, it make it incredibly difficult to work.  I have tried all sorts of different approaches in Windows, such as changing the OS font sizes and icon sizes, which do indeed change everything else on the computer, but PS is still the same tiny size.  I have also increased the text size under the interface preferences to large, but with little real change.  I understand why this is happening, but I am hoping that there is some sort of workaround, beyond just bumping down my screen resolution, which defeats the whole purpose of using UHD to edit photos.  I have heard rumors of being able to code in some UI changes manually, but have found no concrete examples of how to actually do that.
I am sure that it would not take Adobe too much time and effort to create an update to help with scaling, but they are very set on pushing forward with Creative Clound, leaving the rest of us loyal customers to the dust until we pay up.  If anyone has found any resolutions or workarounds, I'd really appreciate it.  Thank you.

Well other than that, I can't offer anything else as a forum volunteer. I have no idea if anything, what Adobe plans to do for CS6.
I do know that Photoshop CC 2014 has a 200% ui feature for Windows and you might like the Photography Plan which for $10 monthly includes Photoshop CC 2014 and Lightroom for $10/month.
You can trial CC 2014 to see if it does solve your situation

  • Ipad icons too big to see full screen after updating to IOS 8?

I have an IPAD Retina (4th generation) and after I updated to IOS 8, it worked fine for 2 or 3 days. Yesterday my screen went too large to display the full screen (icons are also large). When I open an app, everything is large. I tried changing the font seize but no change. I rebooted my ipad a great number of times, no change. I've searched Google but I haven't seen anyone talking about this problem. Any ideas?
    Thanks

Should it happen again double tap the screen with three fingers. Then go to settings> general> accessibility> zoom> off.

  • Screen size in windows 8.1 - all icons too small! How do I enlarge the entire captivate 8 screen?

The entire Captivate 8 screen to too small. How do I enlarge the entire window? All icons and thumbnails are 1/4 the size they should be. Using Windows 8.1.

It looks like it is an issue between Adobe and Microsoft. (Many Adobe programs are responding this way to Windows 8 and 8.1)
I am posting this to try and get some (ANY) ideas/feedback...but to also bring it to the Captivate Community attention. I hope the Captivate Staff is aware of this issue.

there are many many more out there......
I tried this first, it comes with Windows and changes your display properties by application: (but it didn't work)
The program above basicly edits these settings (you can get to these by right clicking on the exe application) I tried many combos, an even tried them under the "change for all users" setting.....NADA!
I have tried editing the Windows display settings: (all screen shots below are with this setting size)
The screenshot below is at 250%. It does not make any difference in the application (check out the menu bar, properties, icons....) If I go over 150% I lose dialog box space...the buttons disappear! If I keep it at 150% the words "Advanced Actions" at the top of the dialog box shrinks slightly, enough to fit the buttons in...) I showed the difference using snag it (12 pt arial compared to the appearance of the UI ~ 4 pt.) This is so hard to see! Same issue in some of the other adobe applications. (fyi...they are all up to date)
    Photoshop = same problem
    Dreamweaver = working fine
    Flash = working fine
Premier Pro = half working....(menubar is ok but everything else is real small)
    Muse = not working
Adobe Edge Code = Working fine
OOF! Well, any thoughts anyone? I appreciate any and al feedback and ideas!!!

  • Photoshop icons too small in PS CS5 installed on Windows 7.

I have just installed my copy of Photoshop CS5 onto my Windows 7 running as a virtual machine in Parallels on a new 13" MacBook Pro.
The icons down the left hand side and menu items across the top are far too small to be used comfortably.
I see this problem discussed on a number of Adobe related forums but no solutions.
Do Adobe have a fix yet?
Edited to say 13" not 17" MacBook.

Thanks, Mylenium, for letting me know.  I suspected as much simply because I couldn't find an answer on any of the forums where people are complaining about this.
I must say I am less than chuffed (British understatement) about this.  Adobe are nothing less than an absolute disgrace.
I bought Photoshop CS5 extended for £365 just less than three years ago and it's now more or less useless: certainly difficult to use anyway.
I shall be looking for an alternative and it almost certainly won't be supplied by Adobe.
Strangely enough my very old copy of Dreamweaver works fine running on the Mac.  Hey ho.

  • Exported photos are too saturated (reds especially)

I use iPhoto to store all my photos and to do occasional quick edits.
However, exported photos look so much more saturated than they do when viewed (double-clicked) within iPhoto, especially the red colors. This is also true when the photos are viewed from directly within the iPhoto Package file, and also when viewed as a thumbnail within iPhoto - the colors are much more saturated.
Why is this happening? After editing my photos within iPhoto I can never export them the way they are meant to look no matter what I do. It seems as if iPhoto uses its own color profiling that is useless outside the iPhoto application.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is becoming more and more bothersome.

I have trashed the Preview pref files, but to no avail. I have also tried the following:
    - I have tried uploading the image file from the finder onto Facebook and Picasa and viewed in Safari and Firefox. The images also look consistent (mostly) with the aforementioned applications!
    - I have tried viewing the images directly within Safari and Firefox by dragging the image onto the respective browser icons in the dock and in Safari it's the same Preview Saturated look (prob because Safari uses the same rendering as Leopard Preview), but in Firefox it looks like it does in all the aforementioned applications...
    - I have tried opening them in my WindowsXP VMWare using the default Explorer application and they look consistent with the aforementioned applications.
    - I have tried creating another user account on my Mac and logging in to preview the images, but it makes no difference.
    Any further suggestions?

  • Firefox toolbar text size & icons too small

    Hello Firefox Help:
I have Windows 7 Home Premium with Firefox 3.6.13.
The icons and text is far too small in my toolbar. I used the add-on "Theme Font & Size Changer" and it helped with the text. However, all of icons are too small.
I recall this being a problem with Windows XP Media Center 2005. Is this a "bug" with Firefox and Windows 7?
How do I change the size of the icons?

Increase the String pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx from 1.0 to 2.0 in 0.1 steps to see what works best.<br />
In current Firefox versions this pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements (user interface and web pages) more precisely.

If the content on websites needs to be adjusted after changing prefs then you can look at NoSquint or Default FullZoom Level.

  • Photoshop Elements 13 Icons too small

After recently installing Photoshop Elements 13 onto my new Dell laptop, all the icons are rather small, yet they show they are at the largest size.  When taking a photography class and we uploaded a RAW photo, the instructions were too tiny to read and I had to use a magnifying glass to read them.  Anyone have this problem before?

Have you used Help>Updates from within the pse 13 editor to get the 13.1 update?
After that in the pse 13 editor you can go to Edit>Preferences>Display & Cursors and set the UI Scale Factor to Large-200%.
Then restart the pse 13 editor for the setting to take effect.
Also, you might want to install the 13.1.1 update, which fixes some bugs in the pse 13 organizer:

  • Desktop icons too big

After installation I find the icons on my desktop are just a bit larger then they were before.  Something must have changed in the configuration but I can't find the option to reduce them to a smaller size.  Anyone know where that option is?

Oh Dear God - thank you.  Sliding bar had them too big, they are now back to normal.  BTW, I hate that bottom Dock shelf and have never used it.  It was back with the upgrade to Lion but a quick Google search for Mac remove dock shelf and presto, back to normal.  Very nice.  Happy so far....
Thanks again for the quick response.  Kudos to you!

  • Icons too big on iphone

The icons on my iphone are too big and I do not know how to get them back to their regular size.

You have zoom on.  You can get back to regular size by going into settings and turn zoom off, or you can triple tap your screen, or you can double click the home button and move the bottom icons to the right and you'll find a zoom icon which you can touch to turn zoom off.
