hi
I had the same issue.
Its because you have a non-English windows. and you dont have the"application data" folder, in spanish is called "datos de programa"(which path is harcoded in the browserHelpersInstaller.jar and the oracle.oats.scripting.modules.browser.api_2.7.0.361.jar)
you must do this:
1)give permission to the folder:
run:
takeown /F userfolder\Datos de Programa\* /R:
icacls userfolder\Datos de Programa\* /grant Administradores:(F) /T:
2) junck the datos de programa folder to application data
run:
mklink /j source-path target-path
example: C:\Users\Maxi>mklink /j "C:\Users\Maxi\Datos de programa" "C:\Users\Maxi\Application Data"
3) reinstall helper browsers.
i hope this works to you.

• After an automatic update, Firefox will start but immediately terminate. How can I fix this problem? I am sick and tired of manually un-installing Firefox!!

Since Firefox version 12, after Firefox automatically applies an update, Firefox will launch and immediately terminate.
The only solution is to manually un-install Firefox, completely clean the registry of Firefox entries, and manually re-install a previous version of Fiirefox that will work -- I use version 4.0. And then manually update that version to the current version.
I DO NOT install the new automatic update option -- that is, the automatic maintenance option.
BUT never the less, EVERY TIME I check for the latest version of Firefox using HELP --> About
Firefox, the UPDATE is AUTOMATICALLY RUN and FIREFOX WILL NOT WORK AGAIN.
I have put with this none sense for 18 versions of Firefox - MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!
Thanks, David Breed

You can use one of these to start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u>:
*On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
*On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
*Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
Can you bring up the Profile Manager to create a new profile (possibly when starting in Safe Mode by holding down Shift)?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem

Please let me know how to resolve this issue. This is causing a major blocking for my testing

Looking at the error message "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" , It appears hostname and port may be incorrect. Review the targets.xml under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\emd and
emoms.properties under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\config folder to make sure host ( sap_solman) and port (1527) are correct.
As far as setting the environment variables goes, you can go to control panel -> system -> advanced -> environment variables and set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID

• I have stopped too many scripts in Firefox and I can't open any websites in Firefox anymore. I just get blank pages. What do I do now?

3 websites gave me this message:- "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete." I chose to stop the script each time. However I have stopped too many scripts in Firefox and I can't open any website in Firefox anymore. I just get blank pages. What do I do now?

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox and any leftover program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps one by one:
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu) and confirm all upcoming messages.
#Now, uninstall Firefox by following the steps mentioned in the Uninstall Firefox article.
IMPORTANT: On Windows, the uninstaller has the option to remove your personal data and settings. Make sure that you do not check this option; otherwise all of your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, user customizations and other Firefox user profile data will be removed from your computer.
After uninstalling Firefox on Windows, delete the "Mozilla Firefox" program folder, located by default in one of these locations:
* (On 32-bit Windows) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
* (On 64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#Go to the Windows Start menu and click on "Computer".
#In the Explorer window that opens, double click Local Disk (C:) to open the C:\ drive.
#Find the "Program Files (x86)" folder or "Program Files" folder.
#* On 32-bit Windows, double-click the Program Files folder to open it.
#* On 64-bit Windows, you will see a "Program Files (x86)" folder AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the Program Files (x86) folder.
#Look for a Mozilla Firefox folder. If you find one, right-click it and select Delete and confirm that you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin.
Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
#Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
#Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

• Recording NWBC scripts for End User Experience

Hi Experts,
I am recording NWBC scripts using the Netweaver Business Client GUI for loading and running it through Robots for End User Experience Monitoring. I don't see an option to "LogOff" in NWBC client while recording  the script. We only have option to "Close all session and LogOff" in NWBC client .
When I am using this option, it closes all the sessions including the EEM Recorder also without saving the recording .
I need to include "LogOff" as the last step so that it doesn't leave any active sessions for each run by different robots.
I have a Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 and NWBC client 3.5 Patch 13.
Please help me achieve this.
Regards,
Manish K

Hi,
for a browser the recommendation is to open a new, empty tab to keep the browser alive while closing the tab with the  session. All that with the hope that the backend will use the triggered event of collapsing tab to close session.
Maybe a similar strategy works for NWBC.. but I don't know the UI in detail.

• How to create a SRV record manually

I need to create the SRV record manually in order to join my Windows XP machines to the Xserve domain, How can I do this?

Drop this question, because lack of answer.

• Handling runtime errors while recording a script.

When I record a script, I have a couple areas of the target website that throw an exception within the browser of e-Tester ( but not in any normal browser ). It is a runtime error, and complains about an unteriminated string constant. I'm not interested in trying to fix the cause, I just want to deal with the dialog. Here are my questions:
1. I want to first check to see IF the screen is present. It looks like a standard windows error dialog.
2. IF it's present, I then want to select the 'No' button, because I don't want to debug it, I just want to close the dialog and move on.
That's all I want to do. I've attached a screenshot of the windows dialog I want to handle.

I'd love to be able to find out what is causing the crash, because then I could log a bug against the web page to have the unterminated string resolved. Any idea of how I could find this? Perhaps looking through the source of the page?
Until I find a way to determine exactly what the problem is with the web page ( sorry, it's proprietary, so I can't post the code up here ), I'm going to write a little app to watch for the box, then close it.
I just need to find a way to call an external app before I click on the web page. How do I call an external app from within e-Tester in such a way that the call is made, and the execution continues as normal? I do NOT want e-Tester to wait for the app to close before continuing.

• Ask for a certificate when record a script in openscript

Hi,
I have an error message when make a playback and I think the reason for that is the following:
In the Windows browser I have installed a certificate for the application under test and don’t ask me for him. But when I record the script in openscript the browser ask me for the certificate.
The error message in playback is HTTP response code: 401
Any suggestion?
thanks,
Daniel

Daniel
I guess that the application is using client side authentication, if so you need to give the certificate to OpenScript
View -> OpenScript Preferences -> Record -> HTTP under General settings you can add your certificate.

• Can we record a script which can download files?

Hi, I'm trying to record a script to download file at data collector. I'm using Dialog Manager to handle all the dialogs but it keep failing at the dialog which need to click on Save button. I've edit the Dialog Manager with action like [Save]{ENTER}/ {+S}/ {S} but error still occurred.
Although the script fails when playback but it can run successfully at Navigation Editor and retrieved the content of the file that I want to download. Besides that, the script also running well when uploaded into monitor. I'm wondering if the script can perform download action as when I check the data collector, there is no files downloaded at the selected location. Can someone help on this? Thanks alot.

Here is what worked for me:
Add a dialog with these settings:
Caption: FileDownload*
Text: *
Action: [Save]{click}
Add another dialog with these settings:
Caption: Save As
Text: Save &in:
Action: [Save]{click}
Let me know if this doesn't work for you. I am using IE 7.
If you run through Navigation Editor, the e-Load Agent will download the file and discard the contents. The result is that the file gets downloaded and stresses the web server but doesn't cause storage problems on the agent machine.

• DVR will record manually but scheduled recordings won't play back. Help?

I have 2 DVRs in my home: a QIP 7232-2 and a QIP 6416-1. I recently located the 6416 to a different room and connected it to an LCD monitor via HDMI cable. It was previously connected to an old TV via coax converter. Since the move, any recordings that are pre-scheduled appear to record, but when I try to play them back the screen freezes on the info bar for one moment, then goes black for a few seconds, and then returns to live TV.
Interestingly, if I hit the record button during a show and record manually, it records flawlessly. I can play that file back on both the 6416 or the 7232 with no problem. I should mention that any recordings that are duds on the 6416 appear the same way on the 7232. Also, the 7232 has no problem with recording scheduled programs. I can playback recorded shows on the 6416 that were made on the 7232. In all cases, I'm recording (or TRYING to record) SD programming.
I have reset both boxes ad nauseam with no joy.
Does anyone have any experience with this, or have any ideas on how to resolve it?
Thank you!

Sorry fo your troubles with the recording. We may need to reprogram the DVR. I have sent you a private message to get more information.
