CNETTV - Cannot play flash video

When I visit CNETTV (http://cnettv.cnet.com/six-essential-free-apps-your-new-pc/9742-1_53-50097586.html) to view/play the video, I get a response back of "To play this video, you need Javascript enabled and the latest version of Flash installed. Install Flash now". I can play to video just fine with IE8. I don't know if it is just with CNETTV that this problem exists but it appears that this may be the case. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

Check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page. 
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website. 
Filter: general.useragent 
If any general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then right-click that pref and choose Reset.

I cannot play Flash videos in Facebook when I upgraded my Google Chrome on Windows 8.1 to the latest 64bit v.37 and Flash player to v.15 . The error message was "Can't load plug-in". Cannot play flash videos : vista / firefox or IE

I have flash player installed, updated to the latest flash, javascript enabled, have tried turning off firewalls and norton 360, turned off all firefox extensions.

Download the installer(s) from the links in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580 and save to disk. Close all browser windows, then run the downloaded installer(s).

1. Are Plug-ins Enabled?
    Enable Plug-ins
    Safari > Preferences > Security
    Web Content:
    Click in the box for "Enable Plug-ins".
2. Check whether you are currently in YouTube HTML 5 trial.

    At the bottom left of the page uncheck the box for
    "You are currently in the HTML5 trial".
3. Reset Safari.
    Click Safari in the menu bar.
    From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
    Click "Reset".
4. Turn off Extensions.
    Safari > Preferences > Extensions
     Now try YouTube.

No matter how many uninstalls and reinstalls Firefox 4 will not play flash videos w the latest flash plugin installed. What do I do to get flash videos to play like everyone esle can?

Trying to solve my non-playing flash videos wherever I surf in Firefox 401 w Flash plugin 10.2.159.1, such as CNN or anywhere really while surfing. Even at the Adobe web site I cannot play demo videos and I own CS4 Suite. I can play any YouTube video I select.

I logged out and logged into my clean account where I install nothing. No joy.
What the heck is the problem? No one else seems to have this problem as I am told many play CNN videos fine.

Playing flash videos on CNN

I am using google-chrome-stable version 41.0.2272.118 (64-bit) and have pepper flash installed. I can play YouTube and CNBC videos without a problem. However, I cannot play any videos on CNN. I also updated everything as well with sudo pacman -Suu and sudo pacman -Syu so nothing should be out of date. I am using the gnome-desktop if that matters. I have set the plugin to work as well in chrome://plugins as well.
Unfortunately, I am not sure what other information would be needed to trouble shoot this issue so ask away.

You can set adblock to "Don't run on pages on this domain" once you are on the cnn videos page, and then click exclude - that way adblock will run without change on other sites but will not be active on the edition.cnn.com/* domain - and it will then play cnn video. That is better than simply disabling adblock completely.
By the way chrome stable has just been updated to version 42.0.2311.90-1 this evening.

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Cannot play youtube videos

I cannot play Youtube videos on my MacBook Pro. I am using Safari. I checked to see if Google had signed me up in their test program and I am not. The apple store upgraded flash.
Any ideas?

If you are trying to view YouTube content from Safari, that requires Flash which cannot be installed on an iPad.
A workaround would be to download the You Tube app > YouTube for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad on the iTunes App Store

I cannot play any videos using firefox. This is a new problem that did not exist last month. Installed latest firefox upgrades, no help. Uninstalled firefox and then reinstalled, did not help. Installed latest flash, did not help. Been dealing with the problem at least last week.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
