CNR 7.01 DHCP server cannot start
Hi,
I have problem with my CNR installation. DHCP server cannot be started.
Bad id or server not loaded is reported error. Also when I try to make some changes that require reload i get this error message:
Error code 0x8000c003 was returned while executing task ReloadDhcpServer_admin_684405.
Does anyone get an idea on what happen, or what i made wrong ?
Regards,
Srdjan
all the four machines are four containers in a solaris server.
The problem was with the hosts file, there were not entries matching the ipaddress and the hotname.
After i fixed it now i have a stable BI servers and cluster controllers.
Now i configured the presentation services to connect to the BI servers but i am getting the following exception.
Type: Error
Severity: 42
Time: Thu Aug 6 13:04:02 2009
File: project/webcomm/socket.cpp Line: 892

Location:
saw.rpc.client.impl.verify
saw.rpc.client.impl.initFixedRPC

An error occurred during execution of "connect". Connection refused [Socket:15]
Any idea?

Multiple LV instances, web server cannot start, port already in use
Hi there,
I have a general question about webserving VIs in case either
a) multiple instances of the LV development environment are running (this is possible in windows XP for instance when "switch users" is allowed and each user launches LV)
b) multiple compiled LV executables are run by the same user
c) any mixture of the two above
I have an application case when either of the three above would be a very good solution, was not for the problem encountered. Say, b): the user is given two deployed executables, and can decide to run either or both concurrently. Moreover, I want these applications to be visible on the web, so they are compiled with the webserver turned on, default settings.
The problem I've seen (LV8.5.1, winXp for sure, but I think I've seen it as well in linux and other versions as well) is that each new instance of the LV engine tries to get hold of the tcp port (default 80), so that all instances beyond the first complain about "The Web Server cannot start. Is the Web Server port already in use?"
While I can understand the origin of the message, and found some posts on the forums somehow related to it, I don't like it too much.
I could think only of two workarounds here: 1) set different web server ports for each LV instance, and instruct the remote users to direct their browsers to a webserverort link to access each VI; 2) run all the applications from the same instance of the LV dev system. The latter is not so convenient for me, due to conflicts in global VIs between all instances of the applications [compiling executables IS a way to privatize memory spaces in this case, AND global variables are imho well justified for the fairly complex application I have in mind here].
Is there a third, more elegant solution perhaps, which I'm missing?
Thanks, EnricoNathanK wrote:
What is it in particular that you dislike about the message?
How would you like LabVIEW to behave in this case?
No problem with the message, but I'd just be very happy if a single
web server would serve all my instances of the executables on the same
port. I.e., if 2.exe is open and wants to start another server on the
same port used already by 1.exe, then 2.exe becomes served by the
server already opened. Am I demanding too much? Am I missing some
necessary logic?
At the moment, anyway, I'm stuck with the vi being served correctly,
but not the compiled application, and I can't figure out why. It's
LV8.5.1, and yes, I have in the .ini

Reports server: cannot start stand-alone servers
I have 9iAS 9.0.2.0.1 on RedHat Linux AS. When I try to create/start a new reports server (using rwserver.sh), I get "REP-50001: Server is initializing", but it never starts. My in-process server works, but I can't create any additional servers.
I've made the changes suggested in MetaLink Doc ID 214310.1. But, I still cannot start a stand-alone server.
Any help is greatly appreciated. The problem was with vncserver. Once I started it with
"vncserver :15 -nolisten local -httpd ${VNC}/classes -cc 3", it started up. -
Re Post: Http server cannot start after running the following JSP
Hi,
I have 9iAS 1.0.2.2 and it has been working fine.
My http server was running fine until I ran the following Jsp. Now I cannot start the Http server at all.
I check the Oracle home and the path and make sure they match (i.e. if my Oracle Home is iSuites, I have the PATH variable: c:\oracle\isuites\bin as the 1st one. And I reboot the system after I changed the Oracle Home, check the PATH variable etc.)
I also check the oci.dll files, and I have the oci.dll file in the following directories:
c:\oracle\ora81\BIN 87KB
c:\oracle\806\BIN 38KB
c:\oracle\iSuites\BIN 87KB
I check the Registry (regedit) and found that I have ORACLE_HOME_KEY for ora81 home, iSuites home, but not
806 home. And there are oracle.key files in c:\oracle\ora81\bin, c:\oracle\806\bin, c:\oracle\isuites\bin .
The contents of oracle.key in c:\oracle\ora81\bin and c:\oracle\isuites\bin are correct (i.e. "Software\ORACLE\HOME0" "Software\ORACLE\HOME2" respectively.) However, the content in c:\oracle\806\bin is "Software\ORACLE" .
Will this be a problem because there is no corresponding ORACLE_HOME_KEY for 806 in regedit?
OR
the OCI.DLL file is corrupted in one of the above directory.
Below is the JSP code that I ran. Before that, my HTTP server is started correctly.
I really appreciate if someone could give me some pointers about this.
I also suspect that when the HTTP server was brought down for some reasons and it was not a clean shutdown.
So how can I shutdown the http server cleanly before restarting that?
Thanks;
Kelly.

It turned out that something (I suspect the patch) had replaced my java1.5.0_06 binary with a java1.4.2_03 binary - but left the java1.5 directory structure alone! i.e. looking in /usr/jdk would have indicated that java1.5 was installed, but when I ran jdk1.5.0_06/bin/java -version , it reported java version "1.4.2_03". I was unimpressed.
I ended up removing all the SUNWj5* packages and reinstalling them and then I could start the admin console.
Now to find out what other damage this patch might have caused..... -

Application Server cannot start after restart
Dear all,
I have a database cluster with SAP CI running on 2 servers(on SAN), plus 4 applications.
Today we have restarted all the servers, and found that only 1 server with database server and application server (w/CI) can start. All other applications servers cannot start, and in SAP Management Console, it does not show the SAP Instance.
Another problem is that the database cluster cannot move to another server, with error:
"initerrlog: Could not open error log file 'M:\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\LOG\ERRORLOG'. Operating system error = 3(The system cannot find the path specified.)."
Can anyone provide any assistant? Many thanks!
Regards,
DanielHi Yaroslav,

Please help. When I try to start the server, only the server0 process cannot be started and the other two dispatcher and SDM are running properly. The trace is attached here.

Cannot start BI server, cannot start cluster successfully, core dumped
Hi
I have the following configuration. The four machines are virtualized containers on solaris sparc
machine 1 - PS, java host, web logic
machine 2 - PS, java host, web logic
machine 3 - bi server, primary cluster controller, scheduler
machine 4 - bi server, secondary cluster controller, scheduler
However i dont need the scheduler and i have not configured them completely
I was able to successfully test on compete stack with no clustering and used only machines 1 and 3. I was able to login to the sample URL and see some graphs.
The problem started once i was trying the clustering. I looked at the admin docs and the installation and deployment guides and followed the instructions and carefully did the configuration.
I face multiple problems.
In single stack some time the BI server was randoly stopping itself for no reason after starting it. it was very random that i used to feel happy if it does not stop.
During clustering i was not able to start the cluster successfully at all. I did not want to worry about scheduler to start with and even the PS. I just wanted to connect to the BI server using the primary ccs and using the admin tool in the windows machine.
Today morning i tried to start the BI server and then there was a core dump in both the machines and then i am not even able to start the server at all. There was nothing in the log files and i dont know what to do.
The log files before the core dump as follows.

chaitanya kadaruall the four machines are four containers in a solaris server.
The problem was with the hosts file, there were not entries matching the ipaddress and the hotname.
After i fixed it now i have a stable BI servers and cluster controllers.
Now i configured the presentation services to connect to the BI servers but i am getting the following exception.
Type: Error

Any idea?

I installed the patch 117665-03 for Directory Server but i had the following error:
Starting the admin server...
Change dir to /var/opt/mps/serverroot/
./start-admin
SunONE-WebServer-Enterprise/6.0SP3 B05/19/2004 02:48
warning: daemon is running as super-user
[LS ls1] http://localhost.mydomain.com, port 390 ready to accept requests
failure: server initialization failed (Interrupted system call)
Any solution for this error?
What's happening?
I tried to see the log but dont exist log on /var/opt/mps/admin-serv/logs.
Please, i need a help.
Thanks.
EvertonI had this problem and the pkgchk mentioned above helped to get the admin server going (thanks!) but I could not run the admin console. I saw:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: org/GNOME/Accessibility/JavaBridge (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)
Why J2EE server cannot start up
Hi,
I downloaded SAP NetWeaver 2004 trial java edition. In the first several days it worked fine, but this week, after start up, J2EE server keeps in Starting apps stage. More than 24 hours has passed, but CPU time for J2EE server is only 2 minutes or so. Anybody knows why?
Thanks,
RayHi Raj,
In services.msc all services related to EP are running - could you specify any service to check?
The developer trace is very long... Hope you can take some time looking into it:)

How do you define what machines will get an IP form your Lion DHCP server?
I have set up a Mac Mini Lion server for use in my classroom. I currently have 8 macs that are connecting to it. I would like my Lion server to serve IPs to these 8 macs, so I have set up the DHCP server to assign these. When I look at what machines are receiving their IP from my server, I am getting everyones iPods, iPhones and other devices. Basically, my DHCP is assigning IPs to these devices, whereas normally these would be assigned from the main school server (not my Lion server). How do tell my Lion Server to only use the DHCP on my 8 macs, not everyones iDevices and Macs. Thanks.
There are two aspects to this. First as Stronium90 says it is normally a bad idea, i.e. more trouble than it is worth to have more than one DHCP server on same LAN.
The first issue you therefore need to address is to ensure that if you have two DHCP servers only one responds to these specific clients. This means you would need to set the Mac DHCP server to only respond to these devices and you would have to set the other DHCP server to respond to all others and ignore these specific devices. To tell the Mac DHCP server to do this you need to add settings manually to the /etc/bootpd.plist file. This is the main configuration file for Apple's DHCP server and is an XML format file. You can find instructions by doing man bootpd in the Terminal.app.
The second issue is if you want to use static IP addresses then you need to define them in the /etc/bootptab file. As standard this file does not exist but all you need to do is create one and the Mac DHCP server will start using it. The following may be helpful https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages /man5/bootptab.5.html -
DHCP Server with the Static IP fill out DNS information
When filling out the DHCP Server with the Static IP from ipconfig.exe in the "Preferred DNS server IPv4 address:
192.168.1.199
The same as in the static IP. The IPv6 DNS one validates IPv4 does not.
I tried using the IPv4 Address and that validated but gave an error at the end: 1059 and 1046.
Gives an error:
"The DNS Server at the specified IP address does not support the required TCP protocol."Hi,
Firstly, would you please post the result of running “ipconfig/all” on the DHCP server and domain controller?
It seems that the DHCP server cannot be authorized in AD DS. Please make sure that the DHCP server is a domain member and try to ping the domain controller on the DHCP server.
Best regards,
Susie -
No contact with DHCP server when using VPN Client
Pretty weird problem I discovered recently.
We use the VPN Client to connect to a 1841 router. Everything works fine except for one small thing.
The client do not send out _any_ traffic if the destination is the ip-address of the DHCP-server the client got its original ip-address from.
This is verified by Wireshark. A ping on the client do not produce any ESP packets towards the VPN concentrator. No matter what traffic you try actually.
Discovered this when wanting to use Remote Desktop towards the Windows Server that is the local DHCP server and was not able to connect. Then tested ping and still no response. That made me look closer and found out that I could not communicate at all with the DHCP server.
As I said, pretty weird.
Anyone else have seen this? Anyone have a solution? Right now I use OpenVPN instead when I need to control that server.
- RogerHi and thanks for responding.
Nothing here apart from being unable to send any packets to the dhcp-server. No problem sending to any other system on the same subnet. The same happens when I connect my pc to another subnet that is served by another dhcp-server. Then I can not connect to _that_ dhcp-server. I can then of course connect to the previous dhcp-server.
I mean _no_ packets are generated out the client at all if the destination are your dhcp-server. No problem with the packet being blocked by a firewall or anything like that. Ping another system on the same subnet as the dhcp-server and the client happily generates ESP packets and sends them to the vpn-concentrator.
I do not know if it was clear enough in the first post so I am saying it here: the vpn-concentrator gives out the ip for the vpn connection. The dhcp-server I can not connect to is the server that gives the client its ip-address _before_ starting up the vpn client.
We use this vpn system so the IT personell will be able to connect to restricted resources from their laptops anywhere in the network, also when using wireless.
This was discovered when one admin wanted to connect from his laptop to a server that also happened to be the dhcp-server that had given his laptop his ip address before he used vpn.
Should be easy enough for anyone else to test. Just ping your dhcp-server after starting the vpn connection. No RFC 1918 addresses of course, there must be a route from your vpn-concentrator to your dhcp-server and at least icmp echo must be open through any firewall/acl.
The vpn version is 4.8.00.0440 on Windows XP configured to not allow local LAN access. I might test this with other versions/OS'es when I have the time.
Regards,
- Roger
