Co-ordinates in Hong Kong Seems To Be All Wrong On...

Anyone using nokia map on E90.. need verification help..
Google Map and Google Earth 22.308600, 114.170520 shows junction of Kansu Street and Temple Street (男人街)。
Google Map and Google Earth 22.305450, 114.169760 shows junction of Jordan Road and Temple Street (男人街)。
Google Map and Google Earth 22.319510, 114.170540 shows junction of Argyle Street and Tung Choi Street (女人街)。
Google Map and Google Earth 22.315570, 114.171330 shows junction of Dundas Street and Tung Choi Street (女人街)。
But the same co-ordinate on my Nokia Map E90 shows elsewhere for all the location above.
Thank you.

Peter...I hope you are still a moderator...you may be my last hope to help me - Toshiba do the right thing.
I too have a C55 Satelitte laptop...acutally I purchased it for my 10 year old son. It is one month out of warranty. Last night for the first time, I used his toshiba laptop because I left mine at work. I notice his laptop had this same issue. I spent an hour reading on your forum and trying all the suggestions including the elaborate unplug, remove drivers etc in a particular order and it did not resolve the issue. Obviously this is a defect in this model. My son does not know enough about laptops to even recognize that it is an issue. I have had toshiba laptops for over a decade. I have never had this kind of an issue so I wouldnt even know to look if it was an issue initially.
It wasnt until last night when I had to use his laptop that I identified this as an issue. No problem, I thought, I'll call tech support and they will do the right thing. No go. I escalated 3 levels and they held their line saying that batteries are consumable and only rated for one year. I have a seven year old toshiba that I use at work that doesnt hold a charge that long but still works!!! This does not work at all - 0%...obviously a defect that unfortuantely my son doesnt have the skill set to have recognized.
Please Peter, if you are there...can you please see what you can do to have a new battery sent. They are 100.00 which is insulting to pay since it is clearly a defect for this model. Tech support even said as much.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have purchased Toshiba laptops for my workplace for over a decade. I am shocked that they are unwilling to do the right thing.
Thanks in advance.

If the phone is truly officially unlocked, it will work on any GSM network with the proper activated sim. You can easily check if in fact it is unlocked by putting any carriers sim in the phone(the sim need not be activated). You should not get any error messages. However, that doesn't tell you whether it was officially unlocked, just that the phone is unlocked. You can find out if it was officially unlocked by restoring it in itunes. If it was not officially unlocked, the restore will lock the phone back to the original carrier it was locked to. Warrant & support are only provided in the country of original purchase, thus if you have a problem in the US, the phone will have to be returned to Hong Kong for any and all warranty & support issues. You can check the phone's warranty here:

i downloaded acdsee camera flash (us$0.99) in Hong Kong's app store, but i cannot find it in the app store after i changed to another iphone. it seems that the app is no longer available in HK, how can I get back the app?

First make sure you are searching the name correctly.
If the app is no longer in the App Store it is no longer available for download. This happens when Apple has found the app violates the agreement with the developer or when the developer no longer wants the app listed in the App Store.
If the app is truly no longer in the App Store your only option is to copy it from iTunes on the computer you normall sync with.

  • Create a new company DB in Hong Kong Localization

    Hallo,
I have to create a new company DB with Hong Kong Localization, but I can't find it in the list.
You can see that in the attached file.
Should I choose P.R.China Localization and than Hong Kong as Country or may be a bug?
    Thank you for your cooperation.
    Michela

    Hi Michela,
I found today your post in which I'm really interested in.
How did you solved the problem about HK Localization?
Did you realized that an HK Localization actually exist or did you finally adapted the PRC Localization?
As soon as IT services install the new HK company the localization translate everything inside SAP B1 NewCO in Chinese.
We finally find the preference to switch the various menus into English, though it seems that - except for normal menus and  - all other operative windows may present chinese indication.
    Here a sample image:
Whatever we do we are not able to make SAP translate those voices in chinese and some other we find going around inside the system.
Do you have the same problem? or did you manage to solve it.
In addition whenever we prin any situation from the newco, every report comes out written in chinese.
The only solution they could sugest is to create and import some reports from UK localization in order to have those reports we may need in english.
On my opinion this is an unsatisfactory solution.
Looking forward to read from you
Thanks in advance for you kindness

  • Should I purchase CDMA or GSM iPhone for use in U.S. and Hong Kong/China?

I currently have an unlocked GSM iPhone 4 that I bought in Hong Kong, and have been using it in the US through Straight Talk. I love having the flexibility of an unlocked phone when I travel. Unfortunately, the GSM networks in my area are pretty spotty, and Verizon's CDMA coverage is MUCH better. Not to mention the data speed is really slow.
I'd like to purchase an unlocked iPhone 5s without a contract, and hopefully be able to use it on the CDMA network here in america, while still have GSM available for use when I travel back and forth to Asia.
The pros and cons of GSM vs. CDMA iPhones are still pretty muddy for me, but it sounds like buying a CDMA iphone would be better for my situation because I could utilize both networks when traveling, and yet have the best speed/coverage in my current home in the US.
Straight talk or Page Plus is what I'm looking to for carriers. Verizon's too expensive for me.
    Here are my questions:
    1. Does my choosing CDMA seem to be the best choice? Or are there any cons regarding purchasing CDMA that I've overlooked? I've heard people say there is no such thing as an unlocked CDMA iphone. My biggest concern is that I arrive in Asia and find that some CDMA lock prevents me from using any other carrier--CDMA or GSM. (Both networks are available there, btw.) I need to make sure I can use data and make calls when I'm there.
    2. If a CDMA iphone is the best choice for me, how do I purchase the right one without a contract? Apple store? Verizon? Straight Talk (do they sell CDMA iphones)?Canada? Ebay seems kinda risky to get an iPhone with the specifications I need.
    3. Does a CDMA iphone still have the slot for sim cards? That's how I've always switched carriers when in Asia.
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know that StraightTalk disabled their iphone's GSM capabilities. Guess I won't be going there to buy one.
    A few follow-up questions...
So is a SIM slot only used for GSM? This is something I never knew. I assumed for any network (GSM or CDMA) that a new sim card was the way you changed numbers/networks.
I've heard people mentioning that they've been able to buy Verizon iphones and use them on PagePlus, but this information was a year or two old, so perhaps things have changed with the newer models/carrier contracts. Do you know of any people who have had success in using a Verizon iPhone 5s on the PagePlus network?

The iTunes Store in Hong Kong does not have videos. I assume the youtube problem to be a temporary issue at googles end of things.

  • MacBook Pro with AZERTY keyboard in Hong Kong

I will be travelling to Hong Kong next week.
Can I buy there a MacBook pro with french keyboard (Azerty)?
In the apple store, it seems not possible to configure this keyboard as a hardware option.
In the US store it is possible
    thx,
    K

What kind of problem that make me can not ask the store directly? Even me, I couldn't imagine the reason but I'm surprised how your doubt come. Actually, whatever I think it's my privacy.
Anyway, I tried finding inquiry form or customer support email on the Hong Kong online store page but I couldn't find anything. I think if there're anyone got an experience about this here, no matter he/she will work for retail store/Apple store or not. (or only store representator can answer this question?) The opinion could be varity from the people, I think. But it looks like I just answer from this community representator. No one have more idea or think different.
I see the way your thinking, um...community....real community..? help me a lot?

  • Does iphoto's ibook not ship internationally? I am currently in Hong Kong and have just put a book together that I would like to buy.

Does iphoto's ibook not ship internationally? I am currently in Hong Kong and have just put a book together that I would like to buy. ibook not letting me put in international address and shipping info seems to suggest US only. I find this hard to believe. The Apple Store in Hong Kong is the size of Manhattan. Well almost!

Don't forget (from  Payment & Pricing - Apple Store (HongKong)):
    Credit cards accepted
Apple is unable to accept credit, debit, or check associated with a billing address outside of Hong Kong.
Not only do you need to select the Hong Kong Print Store but use a credit card with a Hong Kong billing address.

  • Using an Airport Extreme from Hong-Kong in Europe?

I got 2 AP Extreme here that I bough tin Hong-Kong. Now I try to use them to enhace a Wireless Network in Europe. There seems to be a problem. Anyone knows how they are different? Are they using different frequencies? I realized that configuration panel only shows me some pacific locations (Australia, Asia).
    Kind regards

but cannot get it to work properly.
    What exactly, does not work?
The power supply will work on 100-240 Volts and 50-60 Hz, so power wise, the AirPort Extreme will work on local AC power just about anywhere in the world, assuming that you have the correct AC plug for the AC wll jack.
Asia has different WiFi standards than the US, though, so some channels that work on the Extreme in Asia will not work in the U.S. and vice versa. Please see this article for more information in that regard.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels
In general, you will likely need to set the AirPort Extreme to use channels 1-11 on 2.4 GHz and probably limit 5 GHz channels to 36, 40, 44, and 48.

  • Apple store for IFC - Hong Kong

    Hi There,
Is here any peers can help to advise or test if it's my own provider/devices problem that unable connect to Hong Kong IFC Store from Apple Store Apps?
I was trying to reserve a Genius Bar during the time I'm near the store, and even now,
is here any one can answer this question or giving some advise on this?
    thanks.

Apple doesn't really seem to want their customers to travel, apparently.
I really don't think that this is the issue, but it has more to do with what Apple is allowed to sell in different countries of the world .... Copyright, licensing or government regulations all being the factors involved.
As far as I know, you must use a credit card that is registered to a valid address in the country of the store in which you want to purchase - so do you have a Hong Kong/Chinese credit card registered to an address there in Hong Kong?

  • How to upgrade PS Elements thro Adobe-store - Hong Kong?

There is a page about upgrading, with very woeful instructions
I can only see option to buy full version
Seems you make some great software; but customer service appalling. [I've been trying for quite some time to get upgrade, today: first issue with even finding how to download - the download manager not even opening, and had to find links via a non-Adobe site; I got download but only option was to buy outright.
Then was switched from US site - where I did try buying upgrade - to Hong Kong, where I live, but can't see upgrade option.]
    Good grief!
    Don't you value your customers?

    Hi Jeff:
    Thanks for the reply.
Don't think it's a browser issue; I saw buy upgrade option thro US site.
Just tried w Chrome [not Firefox], and again only see option to buy Full from:
    HK$ 808.37ex. TAX
I also went to products listing for the HK store; only see options for Full Elements.
Anayway, I have the trial; not sure I have massive need of the upgrade - especially since in meantime, I checked out other software [pricier] that looks to better suit my needs. Downloaded, installed the demo without any hassles. [and would be a one time purchase; I'm not so keen on the renting software from Cloud idea - may warm to it in future]

    Hello
Will my iPhone work in Hong Kong? Does anyone know if there are any concerns regarding traveling with your iPhone?
Apple is in talks with China to sell a iPhone model there... I would suggest waiting to buy one till it is sold there if you live there.
If you are just traveling on AT&T's network then I would suggest calling AT&T and seeing if their iPhone international voice and data plans extend to China and if so get the monthly plan while you are in China.. Still while in China I would suggest turning off Edge service while there unless you need it
