CO-PA: Result analysis process

Hi COPA Guru,
1) Will Result analysis post WIP for FI posting or it only calculate the figure?
2) Is it Result analysis always necessary before settlement?
Thanks,
Kick

Hi,
At period-end, you can calculate WIP using Individual or Collective settlement.
The following activities relating to WIP nneds to be done at period-end:
1) Allocation of Overheads to Production/Process Orders at planned rates
2) Actual Price calculation (T-Code - KSII)
3) Revaluation of Production/Process Orders (T-Code -CON2)
4) Change Cut-off period for WIP (KKA0)
This is required to prevent the system overwriting the WIP calculations already posted till the previous period.
5) WIP Calculation (KKAX/KKAO)
This only calculates the WIP but does not post to FI.
The system calculates WIP based on the status of the Production/Process Orders. WIP is calculated on all Prod/Process Orders which do not have status DLV (Delivered) or TECO(Technically complete)
6) Variance calculation (KKS1/KKS2)
The system calculates Variances based on the status of the Production/Process Orders. Variances are calculated on all Prod/Process Orders which have status DLV (Delivered) or TECO(Technically complete)
7) Settlement of Production/Process orders (CO88/KO88)
The system posts the WIP & the Variances calculated in 5 & 6 above.
Once the status of the Orders change to DLV or TECO, system will reverse the WIP postings made in previous periods.
To answer your specific questions:
Result Analysis is the WIP calculation (KKAX/KKAO), which only calculates the WIP but does not post to FI.
Result analysis is always necessary before settlement.

    Hallo,
the APD does`nt be a useful tool for modeling a performant
data flow. A lot of SAP BW user think so.
The performance problems are given by the ddic intern table, using to uploading the extracted data into the apd used wa_table and structures.
To have the best performance on your scenario, please use the following scenario as possible.
    Step 1.
upload the extracted data from the psa into a data layer
there you can reduce and harmonize the data by using a transactional ods
    Step 2.
build a infoset that joins the data
    Step 3.
build one query to reducing data and make two copies of ist
    Step 4.
build a useful data mining model
    Step 5.
upload the results of the data mining model into a transactional ods
    Step 6.
link the uploaded data into a infoset ore write back into a standard ods
    Step 7.
    query the data
If you use this scenario you have a lot of benefits. Better performance, better quality of persistent data and actual and traininged data.
The recommend next step (if you want a alerting) is to build a reporting agent report - if you have usefull processes in  the query.
There are a workshop for Data mining and APD, named BW380.

  • Problem with Result Analysis report (KKAK)

    Hello Experts,
I am facing problem with T-code KKAK, when I am executing this transaction (Results Analysis (RA) on sales orders creates the data for posting to the GL, depending on the sales order (i.e. WIP or COS) ) system is displaying/calculating for all sales order which are already completed (fully shipped and billed), this report displaying in 300 to 400 pages.
My requirement is  .. is it possible to display only sales orders which are no completed. This will help alot.
Please help me to solve this problem.
    Thanks
    Sudheer

    Hi,
in the selection screen of KKAK in "Output options" there is a flag "display closed items".
Uncheck this and ensure that all completely processed orders have status closed (CLSD).
Thus they will not be reported anymore.

  • Results Analysis Settle Internal Order (from CRM) - No cost element allowed

In SPRO results analysis configuration to "Define Posting Rules for Settlement to Financial Accounting" I am not allowed to use an account with a cost element.  (Error: I get error KQ 119 G/L account ### cannot be created as a cost element.)
I configure a G/L account with no cost element.  KO88 Settlement posts to G/L account fine; however, does not post to the internal order because the config mentioned on first line does not allow me to use an account with a cost element.
Problem: I am unable to see settlement in KOB1 report because settlement goes to GL Account, but does not post to the internal order.
Failed solution:  I tried to use OKC9 substitution at KO88 to substitute the internal order number.  The problem is that table AUFKV is empty when the substitution runs at KO88 settlement.  I am not able to substitute the order number because the order number isn't even available in the substitution at internal order settlement.
I put a break manual break point in program GBTACCOB at the call to the substitution rule I defined.  The breakpoint stops at the substitution when I run KO88 settlement; however, fields are blank. I am unable to do substitution.  I know this works because I have a similar substitution on the same internal order for accounting indicator when doing an MB1A goods issue to an internal order.  The break point stops there and the AUFKV data is available for substitution rule.
    Question:
Any suggested solutions to to have internal order update into KO88 settlement after KKA1 results analysis would be helpfull.

It is more of a reporting issue really.
The problem is that internal order settlement with settlement profile instead of results analysis does post the settlement to the internal order and does use a cost element.  This is the business process the users currently have.  Our users have a requirement to settle the orders weekly.  This helps them find issues earlier and speeds up the month end close.
In the past we could use KOB1 and see the current balance of an internal order and see the settlement.  Now that report no longer shows the settlement.  How can I see what has been settled on an order and what hasn't now?

  • KKAX - error 'Manual WIP/results analysis is not allowed for order

We are running KKAX on some process orders.  A few of them get the error 'there are values for cost element 999999 that are not assigned to any line ID'; however, we do have a line id set up for the cost element, etc; when we drill down further on the message, what we end up with is 'manual wip/results analysis is not allowed'.  The business transaction for this is KABM.  I can see on the order that KABM is not a permitted business transaction.
We only have this problem on a few of the orders.  How is the KABM being invoked?  Is it caused by an order status?  How can I fix this?
    Thank you

    Hi Christian
i have come up with the new business requirement
I want to change some of the material in one of the plant into discreete. For that, I tried to delete the production version and then tried to uncheck repetitive manufacturing indictor in MRP4 view.
But it is giving the following error
Either you are attempting to delete production version 1000 or
you haveattempted to deselect the repetitive manufacturing indicator for the production version.
It is not possible to delete the production version or to
deselect the repetitive manufacturing indicator for the following reasons:
o Cutoff period for WIP calculation has not yet been
established. For the period in which a goods receipt was last entered with reference to this production version.
o The cutoff period for variance calculation has not been
defined for the full life of the production version.
Can you please help me out how to resolve this issue

    Hi Christian ,
One question related to Cut-Off period regarding WIP calculation which myself and Ajay were discussing 15 days  back..
Is it required to change the cut-off everymonth when we calculate WIP . In my client.. then donot do that .. but still we calculate the WIP..
Is the significance of cut-off period is to tell the system the first period to calculate WIP .. during implementation .. My client never changes that and its in a MTS ( Process Order Senario )... but calculates WIP every month.

  • No entered status set. No results analysis will be performed

    Hi Guys,
I keep on getting this error message beloe and the valuation is on RELEASE status
No entered status set. No results analysis will be performed
    Message no. KJ210
    Diagnosis
The valuation of the order or project in results analysis depends on the status of the object.
In this case, the object does not have an active status entered in the valuation methods in Customizing for WIP calculation and results analysis. Consequently, WIP calculation and results analysis cannot find a method with which the object can be processed.
    Procedure
Decide whether the object should be processed in its current state (indicated by its active status in status management) by WIP calculation and results analysis.
If you want to process the object:
In Customizing for results analysis, choose Period-End Closing -> Results Analysis -> Define Valuation Methods for Results Analysis, add an entry for this status, and specify how objects with this status should be processed.
If you do not want to process the object:
This message is inconsequential for you. No follow-up actions are necessary.
In Customizing for results analysis, choose Period-End Closing -> Results Analysis -> Define Valuation Methods for Results Analysis and select the No valuation indicator. This message is then no longer issued by the system.
    Example:
In the standard system, there is normally no entry in the valuation method for the status CRTD (Created). You will therefore receive this message for objects that only have the status CRTD.

    Hi Guys,
I manage to run the RA. The problem why I could'nt get it right was because I did not run transaction MMPV to close period for material master

    Hi All,
I am Trying to do a Results Aanalysis on one Serivce Order in KKA1 and it throws the following Error , I changed the status TECO, and changed the RA Key ,Just a try, but still gives the same Error Message, If anyone can Help me in this I really appreciate that.

Order without revenue: Only RA types F and Z permitted
    Message no. KJ280
    Diagnosis
The order type of the order on which you are attempting to perform results analysis does not allow revenue posting.
In the results analysis version, you specified that work in process for this order is calculated separately instead of through results analysis for the sales order item or WBS element. This means that the work in process will be calculated through the results analysis key in the order until the order has the status DLV (delivered) or TECO (technically completed). Once the order has one of these statuses, the actual costs for the order are included in results analysis for the higher-level sales order or WBS element.
    Procedure
Enter a results analysis key in the order that is suitable for calculating work in process. To do this, choose a results analysis key for which a valuation method with results analysis type F (calculate work in process) or Z (cancel work in process) is defined.
If no results analysis key has been defined for WIP calculation, you must go into Customizing and change the valuation method of the results analysis key accordingly.

    Hi,
Plz check u r RA version. In the version check under calculate WIP or RA for section. I think in u r version there is tick box on Internal and service orders w/o revenue. In conjunction with this check which is more appropriate between first and last option in this section.
If last option selected, it wont allow if you have any revenues on your order. Then check u r valuation method statuses and u r order status.

  • Results analysis data is calculated through sales order

    Hi All,
I m trying to calculate WIP of one process Order through KKAX. But I am getting the below error
Results analysis data is calculated through sales order 300002423 001000
    Message no. KJ112
    Diagnosis
The order you selected for WIP calculation or results analysis is assigned to a sales order. A results analysis key was entered for this sales order.
    System Response
The system determines results analysis data for orders assigned to sales order items through the results analysis for the sales order.
    Procedure
Carry out results analyis on sales order 300002423 001000.
This process Order is related to Sales Order and I have checked the Result Analysis key is attached to Sales Order.
Please help me out in this issue.
    Thanks!

  • Cross-company + third party SD-order item result analysis

    Hello,
    please, advice.
    SD-Process - third party cross-company
1.Sales organisation belongs to company code A.
2.Plant belongs to company code B.
3.Third party - so there is no delivery, intercompany billing is executed on the header level (IVA invoice type).
After the SD-order position is created, a purchase order is created too automatically. There is still no invoice receipt, intercompany billing, or external invoice. But the status Final Billed (FNBL) is determined for the position within the SAPKKA12 right after the position is created (not only within SAPKKA12, but also within result analysis KKA3 too).
Could you please test the same within your system and provide some clarification?
    Thanks a lot

  • What is Importance of Financial Accounting in Result Analysis

    hi sap kings........
please give me details of result analysis in financial accounting.

    Hi,
Results analysis valuates the relationship between the costs and a measure of the order's progress towards completion, such as the revenue or the quantity produced.
    Eg:
If the measure of an order's progress is the actual revenue, the cost of sales approriate for that revenue is calculated. The revenue, cost of sales, and reserves for imminent loss (if calculated) represent the profit on the order for the period, and are settled to Profitability Analysis.
The calculated cost of sales is compared with the actual costs, and either work in process or reserves for unrealized costs are created for the difference. Postings are made for these values in <b>Financial Accounting.</b>

  • Results Analysis on WIP

    Hi Guys,
Do we carry out the Results Analysis to know the cost of the WIP at a particular point of time?
What information does this Results Analysis yield and how do we use this information. Do we calculate the cost of WIP?
And where do we settle these costs?
Pls let me know about this concept of WIP and RA ??
    Thanks
    Kris..

    Hello Srikusap,
WIP means work in progress suppose the production order is made up of 10 qty but at the time of confirmation of order only 8 qty is confirmed for production out of which 6 qty is confirmed as finished  nad 2 qty is still on production line to be completed , at the month end if this two qty is not decleared as finished then it will be considered under wip(work in process)
RA is resault analysis in which the WIP is calculated.
    Hope this can help .
    Thnx

  • Results Analysis for Projects

    Hi Guys,
We use Results analysis for projects and also we use RA in Product Costing.
Can anyone let me know what exactly does this Results Analysis mean ( not in SAP terms ).
I am trying to look for this over help.sap.com and google but could not find information on what exactly this term means.
Also how is this related to WIP?
    Please clarify.
    Thanks,
    Srikanth.

    Dear srikusap,
Calculation WIP through the SAP, RA key will play important role.  Work in process calculation is diferent from industry to industry.
In SAP RA key will shows the WIP amount while u running KKAX Transaciton Code.  After when ever u do the settlement then ti will be settled to Financial Account.  At that time A Accounting Document was generaged.  when ever the Order Status is Teco then the provious period WIP will be reversed.
Revert back if u any calrification.

  • Results Analysis Keyu2019

What is the significance of u2018Results Analysis Keyu2019 parameter in process order?

    Hi,
RA Key that defines the valuation of the order during period-end closing.
How the results analysis key is used depends on the nature of the order.
For orders with revenue ( internal orders, sales orders, and projects), the results analysis key determines how results analysis is carried out.
Results analysis is recommended in the following situations:
When you are using a nonvaluated sales order stock or nonvaluated project stock and you want to valuate the inventories at the end of the period
When you are using a valuated sales order stock or valuated project stock and want to valuate goods that have been delivered but not yet invoiced, or when you want to create reserves automatically
For orders without reference to a sales order item or WBS element, the results analysis key determines how the work in process is calculated.
The production type can be make-to-stock or mass production on the basis of sales orders. The work in process is calculated at the level of the production order, process order, or product cost collector.
For capital investment measures, the results analysis key determines how the system calculates the values to be capitalized.
    Examples
For orders with revenue, costs may be incurred before any revenue is received. If you are using a nonvaluated sales order stock, results analysis enables you to report the costs as work in process. After the first revenue has been posted, you can calculate the cost of sales. If the calculated cost of sales is greater than the actual costs incurred to date, the system creates reserves for unrealized costs in the amount of the difference.
No revenue is posted in CO for orders without reference to a sales order item. Each goods receipt for these orders is valuated. The work in process for these orders can be calculated with two different methods:
Work in process at actual costs
The actual costs for production orders and process orders for which no delivery has taken place are reported as work in process. After a partial delivery, the difference between the debit of the order with actual costs and the credit of the order from goods receipts is reported as work in process. When the order is complete, this work in process is canceled. The difference between the debit and credit of the order is then interpreted by the system as a variance.
In Product Cost by Order, the work in process is usually valuated at actual costs.
A requirement for the valuation of work in process at actual costs is that the default rule PP1 (full settlement) must be specified in the order.
Work in process at target costs
A confirmation is made for each operation or at certain reporting points. The system uses the confirmations to determine the quantity of work in process. This quantity is valuated using the strategy sequence specified in the valuation variant for work in process and scrap.
In Product Cost by Period, the work in process is always valuated at target costs.
A requirement for the valuation of work in process at target costs is that the default rule PP2 (periodic settlement) must be specified in the order.
    Hope it is clear.
