CO-PA User Defined Characteristics

Hi
I have created several user defined characteristcs. When entering jouranls I need only two of them to be displayed and allowed for entry. At the moment all the new characteristics that I created are being displayed under "Proft.Segment. How can I restrict it?

Please create Char Group in KEPA and make the two feild mandatory in it
Then assign it to the transaction type RFBU in KE4G or to record type/trans type in KEVG2....
Now , Supress all other CO objects to this GL account from the field status group in OBC4 and allow only PSG (prof segment).. Make default setting to PSG in OKB9....
Now, system wont allow to post to this GL w/o PSG being populated and the PSG screen will not proceed w/o the two fileds.

Hi,
You can do the same by creating SETS. You can create the same from header menu at the time of entering receivers during creation of assessment cycles.

User Defined Characteristics for Operating Concern.

Hi All...,
I got the total list of characteristics from the core team for the Operating Concern.
Now some of the characteristics are there in the possible entries or Selection Box. Where as for the rest, we have to create manually with User Defined Parameters.
While creating the new characteristics in KEA0 with User defined option, it is not allowing me to enter the ORIGIN & CHECK TABLE, where it is taking the one default value T25**.
Now how can I create the new characteristics.

Hi,
When you create the new Characteristic, just input the Description, Short text & heading & the data type & length. When you click on save, system prompts you with a message " New check tables should be created for certain chars.
How should the entry of numbers for this table take place?"
Click on Automatic and the system will populate the ABAP dictionary & the Check Table, Text Table & Text field values.
If you create a Characteristic with reference to a SAP table, the Origin table & the Origin field values will get populated automatically. Origin is not relevant , if you select the User defined option while creating new Characteristics.
Assign points if useful.

User defined characteristics for planning hierarchy

Hi Experts,
I am using flexible planning for sales planning when I define a planning hierarchy, I want to include a user defined field also.
The requirement is like this, Planner wanted to see the cumulative sales figures of domestic and exports (Exports will be to more than one country. So I cant use countries for this).
How can I do this?

Thanks for the reply. Since Iam using flexible planning, I will be creating a user defined info structure. But my question is can I include a custom defined characteristic also in the hierarchy which is not available in the field catalogs for characteristics system is showing?
If so where should I define this characteristics first before assigning to the information structure.

COPA User Defined Characteristics

Hi Friends,
I need to add a user defined characteristic in COPA for Internal Order Types
Can any body guide me please if you have any guide with screen shots, I think i need to add characteristics with user defined WW>then add in Operating Concern>add condition types and then in KEDR table look up AUFK and selection to VIAUFKST.
Can any confirm the above or guide it in the right manner if any config book is available also that would be great.

b. Added in the Operating Concern and Regenerated it
c. Added Derivation rule thru table look up for Order Type
Should i do any further steps (In CO-PA) for a CO-PA document related to Internal Orders to be generated thru billing cycle or i m fine with the steps i have done.

User Defined Characteristics not populating for Batch during GR of SC PO

We have a requirement to populate the one characteristic ( Country of origin ) of batch during GR.
After GR the characteristics value should be displayed in Classification Tab of MSC3N transaction.
So that I have implemented the Enhancement MBCFC004 .
Two conditions here for Populating the Country of Origin
1) During GR of Standard Purchase Order the Characteristics (Country of Origin) value should be mseg-oic_oland1 ( Country from Extenal Details )
    For this condition the User Exit code is working perfectly and also updating classification in MSC3N .
    NO ISSUE for Standard Purchase Order.
2) During GR of Subcontract Purchase Order the Characteristics (Country of origin value ) should be populated from the characteristics value of Batch of
      component Material .
    For this condition the User Exit Code is working perfectly , But NOT updating classifcation in MSC3N .
    This happens for Subcontract PO.
Can anyone suggest solution , why this happening for Subcontract Purchase Order.

I am not sure about your question, but if you want to populate the classification data during goods receipt then you need to maintain characteristics values in material master for classification tab under class type batch i.e. 022. After then it will apper during goods receipt for characteristics value for batch.

BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2 - Characteristic Number of User-Defined Data Type

We are using classifications in the DMS system (it is the same classification system as the sales order and a few other transaction types). We also have defined our own characteristic data types. If we manually go into CV01n and enter in values into the user defined characteristics everything works fine. However, if I specify them in BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2 the values are not created/stored. I get a null return on the return parameter so there isn't a warning nor is there an error.
Is there another way to set these values as it doesn't look like it will work with BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2?

To change User defined Value field from Amount to Quantity in COPA

I have created a created a User defined Characteristics VV930 - Number of labor hours. While creating, i wrongly assigned the chategory Amount instead of Quantity.
Now when i am trying to change it is giving me errors.
Also it is not allowing to delete and recreate the new VV930 with category as Quatity.
No data is posted in COPA.

1. Remove it from your COPA data structure in KEA0... Shift it from Left to right in data structure screen... Then try to delete it
2. Else, reserve this Value Field for future use and change the name as of now to XXXXXX...Create a new Qty Field for your use now.

Problem after uploading user defined characterstic schema in product catalo

Hi friends,
We were using SRM 5.0 and CCM 2.0, we were uploaded Master catalog through .CSV file, Product catalog schema through .XML and user defined characteristic schema through .XML file separately. System given message catalog updated successfully. But when I observed in product catalog user defined characteristics are removed from the product catalog the content of these fields is also wiped out from the items. Once the catalog was in this state, I mapped it to the Master Catalog and all the user defined characteristics show up in error. What could be the cause?? can any body Help (Urgent)

Time Conversion - DataSource to User Defined Time Char w/Ref

Hi, I have a Transformation into a DSO and i have created User Defined Time Char w/Ref.
ZSSDCALW     0CALWEEK     Sched Ship Yr / Week

ZSSDCALY     0CALYEAR     Sched Ship Year

The source of these fields is not an InfoObject for an InfoObject to InfoObject assignment. The source of these fields is a date field zzschedate from 2LIS_11_VAITM and are currently set to direct assignment.
In the Transformation assignment only the 1st 2 new fields (ZSSDCALW and ZSSDCALM) show up with the Conversion Exit PERI6. The others do not show a conversion exit being assigned. Note: I read something about Function RST_TOBJ_TO_DERIVED_TOBJ, but not sure if this comes into the equation automatically.
Questions:
Can I directly assign the date field into all of these user-defined characteristics and conversion will automatically take place?
Or will it do it incorrectly because they are user defined date fields with reference?

Addition of New Column name "Qty" in user defined layout for CJR2

Hi Friends,
I am going thorugh variurs posts but could not a fetch correct answer. If that was available and missed, sorry about that.
My requirement is, wanted to have new user defined layout which would be copied from 1-701 (CJR2). The layout should have new column which would be named as "Qty".
Note that I tried to change name after pulling new fileds from left side to right hand side but these fields are grayed out in change layout.
What is the work around solution to have new column and tthis wouold be named as "Qty". Let me ask one question is it possible to add new fields name to standard layout like 1-702 other than what it has been delivered by SAP????.

Have you tried MENU > Edit > Columns > Append additional fields?
I think you can not choose any other characteristics other than SAP has provided which is mentioned in SAP Help.

User defined Variable with multiple value

Hi Experts,
customer requirement is the following:
Build a layout in which to have in Lead Column the cost center characteristics, but not all cost center in master data but only those chosen by user with manual input. To achieve this goal i have created a variable of type characteristics (associatd to cost center CH) with replacement type "user defined values", then i have put this var in planning level. I have created a layout with Cost Center in Lead Column and set "all possible ch combination" in additional setting.
Thanks to the varable created, the user can enter Cost Center value, but the problem is that he cannot select more than one single cost center value, for example:
User want to see in layout CosCen1 and CosCen4, by now he can set variable in order to see the entire range from CosCen1 to CosCen4 (included all intermediate Cost Center) or to see only one between those 2 Cost Center, but it's not possible (or better i don't know how to..) to select both cost center and display the layout with ONLY those 2 Cost Center in Lead Column (CosCen1 and CosCen4).
In other word, is it possible to set a variable with more than one single value without using range from-to?
If not, does exist an alternative?

Hi Fabio,
It works as follows.
let's say you have 3 multiple single lines for your cost center variable.
once you are in the folder, select any single value & the layout is ready for planning with the corresponding cost center.
now, select the "Cost center variable row" in the header of the folder within section "Name of Variable" & click on "Trash Can" icon to "Delete Selection" of variable.
this basically deletes all the entered selections (3 entries) & displays for all.
It works this way, because we don't have "resriction of values required by user".
if am not wrong & correct me if am wrong,
overall, this is nothing but equal to "planning level not restricted with any variable".
I just tested this & the flaw in this is that, it is not only displaying for all the initially entered 3 lines but it displays for each & every cost center irrespective of the variable selections.

Addition of user defined fields in Results Recording screen (QE01)

We've a business requirement to add user defined fields in results recording screen (Character Overview screen - QE01), so that the user will enter data in user defined fields during results recording. and the data entered in user defined fields should be saved in data base table along with actual results given by the user in order to retrieve data for reporting purpose.
Please suggest valuable solutions to acheive the requirement.

We've tried using the " QEEM0029 User-Exit for Characteristic Overview Subscreen , however with "QEEM0029" exit, we are only able to add fields to the characteristics overview screen and there is no provision in this exit to save the data entered in the user fields to a table (QALS,QAMR, QASE).
Please suggest!
