Coax and HDMI output simultaneously?

Prior to X1, I was able to output from the tuner two ways at the same time: via HDMI and coax. When I connect coax now, no signal goes through, even when I unplug the HDMI. Am I missing some step, or is this dual simultaneous output not possible? Thanks.

I would expect the coax output would work because the composite and component outputs (if applicable) still work when HDMI is being used. Hopefully you are aware that any devices you would have connected to the coax (RF) output needs to be set to channel 3???

  • Can I push audio out the Apple TV HDMI and optical output simultaneously?

I am trying to put audio to two different amplifiers 1) Surround sound and 2) stereo audio.  Using HDMI connection to surround sound amp and trying to simultaneously use optical for audio to second stereo amplifier.  NOt getting it to work and thinking the Apple TV box only drives one at a time.  DOes anyone out there know?

It does both, I have OA to sound bar and HDMI to tv and get audio on both no problem.  It is something on your set up.  I think from your post both work but not at the same time?  If you give a little detail it will help, but ATV does both audio outputs simultaneously and independently.

  • G41TM-E43 - DVI and HDMI output at the same time?

I am looking to output to 2x 1920x1200 displays...nothing 3D and nothing that needs to be decoded...just some power point presentatinos and some flash within a browser window.
I am pretty sure the resolution isn't going to be a problem, but using both the DVI and HDMI ports at the same time is something I am concerned about.  I am looking for people with actual knowledge that this works...no guessing please.

The likelihood is that you won't be able to use DVI & HDMI at the same time, but you could use one or the other in conjunction with the VGA (D-Sub) port.
But as this is a user-to-user forum, and you may have to wait for someone with actual experience of this to see this thread and respond, for a definitive answer, contact MSI Support direct:

To be honest... it just works here for me. I use KMS and don't have a xorg.conf.

  • Radeon HD 3200 and HDMI output [Solved]

Alright so I'm on an HP pavilion dv5 laptop with an integrated radeon hd 3200 and for some reason, I can't seem to output to my 32inch TV after a certain part of the boot process. It's strange though, because if I have my HDMI cable plugged in during boot, I can see the BIOS/GRUB boot menu and part of the daemons being loaded in the beginning, then it all goes blank on the TV. When the HDMI is plugged in, xrandr returns
    Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 800, maximum 8192 x 8192

I've googled around and searched through the forums but haven't been able to figure this out. Oh and I'm using the open source ATI driver, not the catalyst one from the AUR. So I'm quite stumped and am getting tired of having to boot into windows to stream stuff so any and all help (as always) is greatly appreciated.

Alright I'll definitely be giving that a look over, however I'm still unable to output to my 32inch TV in my room. I mean it's definitely something with the TV, just no idea what. I've tried xrandr on the smallest resolution (like 640x400 or what have you) and still no go. My best guess is that it has something to do with the resolution, when the computer boots considering I can see my BIOS on my 32 inch but for the life of me I am just baffled. Anyways sorry for the late response, been busy with work and the like. So just to sum up so far; HDMI video out works on our 55 inch LCD @ any resolution but doesn't work on my little 32 inch. As always all help is greatly appreciated, especially you jlindgren for sticking around this long lol.

  • Radeon R6850 and hdmi output woes

Hi there, new to the forum and hoping someone can help me out.
I have both a small hdmi and dvi capable 20 inch monitor and a Sony kdl w4000 hdtv.  I can output via hdmi and dvi to the small monitor without issue but i cannot for the life of me figure out how to output the signal via hdmi to the Sony tv - either alone or simply as a clone of the desktop on the smaller monitor.
Both displays (when the small monitor goes via dvi and the Sony via hdmi) are picked up by catalyst control centre but they are both labelled '1' which is odd in itself.
I have messed around with changing resolutions to something the Sony should accept, I have messed around with the settings on the TV to ensure hdmi is selected but none of this has helped at all.
I am running the latest drivers for the card.
BTW, I have another Radeon based laptop in the house and that will output to the Sony tv via hdmi without messing around with any settings - you simply plug the cable into both and its immediately detected.
    Can anyone kindly advise?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Qosmio X500 and HDMI output does not work automatically

    Sorry for my english..
    Good morning.
I have a Qosmio x500 recently that runs on Windows 8.1
Previously, when I plugged in a hdmi cable from the PC to the TV, I had ( Samsung TV ), after a beep on the PC , automatically binding and made ??the TV is lit ( if it was in standby).
I could even control the PC with the TV remote control, put a movie , pause, etc.. Super convenient!
Source indicated on the TV Anynet + Toshiba pc.
And when I commutais with the TV remote control on TV, the PC screen is lit .
Off, despite repeated attempts with at least 5 software (drivers ?) Different Toshiba certified HDMI, I do not have it and I have to manually switch to see the PC on the TV (choose HDMI source on the TV) .
HDMICtrlMan is a folder where after installation, there are:
    ChangeOutput.exe
    HCMSoundChanger.exe
    HDMICtrlCfg.exe
    HDMICtrlMan.exe
    But nothing works !
I also updated the video and audio driver: gforce gts 360m
    But now I hold!
And I do not know the logical progression of the computer when you plug an HDMI cable (totally depends on the graphics chip ?).
If someone has an idea or experience of this problem, thank you in advance

    >The problem is that with the drivers windows 7 64 bit, HDMI worked.
The problem is that you changed to a Windows system which is NOT supported on this notebook.
Of course you can use Windows 8.1 on this Qosmio X500 model but this does not mean that all notebook features would work properly.
Windows 8.1 is completely different and many Windows 7 tools and utilities are not compatible with Win 8.1
I dont know if this will help you but the Windows 8.1 Toshiba System Driver is very important software when in comes to use Windows 8.1 on Toshiba notebooks.
Try to install this Windows 8.1 Toshiba System Driver released for Qosmio X870/875 series.
But if this will not work, I dont see any other possible solutions.
Either you will give up the Windows 8.1 and will switch back to supported Win 7 or you would use Win 8.1 but without the automatic HDMI support.

  • Lightning and hdmi simultaneous

Can new Mac minis run a lightning bolt monitor and an HDMI output simultaneously?

No Mac has a Lightning connector, that connector is only on the iPhone5 and new iPads. I think you mean the Thunderbolt connector. The answer to that is yes the new Mac minis can run both a Thunderbolt and HDMI screen at the same time.

  • Component and hdmi issues

So I wanted to see if I could send the ATV signal from both component and hdmi outputs. Currently, I am using HDMI only to my Pioneer Pro 1120 at the 720 setting, but I wanted to send the signal to another tv (with component only) as well.
I could not output both signals, but when I went to output only the component signal, I could not get a signal (even on the Pioneer which auto adjusts the video resolution based on the input). Do I need to reboot when changing the AV output? I have tried the component on two different tv's. Do I have a bad component output on my ATV or am I missing a setting step somewhere?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Yes. I just had mine replaced today and it works nice!

  • Tty on HDMI output?

Hi, i've an asrock nettop ion 330 which provides vga and hdmi output, it is connected to a TV via hdmi.
If it is powered on before the tv, i can't see bios post messages nor kernel messages, nor any tty (works if i switch the tv on before the nettop)
When Xorg takes control, it correctly initializes hdmi output, but even switching to a tty leads to a black screen.
I suspect that it defaults to vga at boot if it can't see any hdmi device connected.
Is it possible force linux to output to the hdmi output even if it wasn't seen by the bios?
Something make me think that it should be possible, because if i turn on the tv, then turn on the box and then hibernate it,  when it resumes it still outputs to hdmi (ttys+xorg) even if the tv was switched off at resume time.
    Thanks

    Which driver?
With KMS drivers you can force outputs on/off or force resolutions with 'video=' in the kernel line.
    For example
    video=HDMI-1:e video=LVDS-1:d
    or
    video=HDMI-1:1920x1080@60
With the nvidia driver you're probably out of luck.

  • Audio sync problem - simultaneous HDMI and analog output

I'm currently running my audio out through my Geforce 460 via HDMI to my A/V receiver. I have a simultaneous stereo analog output running through my ASUS Xonar D2, using Pulseaudio & Amarok as the player (VLC-gstreamer backend).
I use the HDMI and A/V receiver to power my main stereo in my living room, but on occasion when I want music around the house, I use the analog line out to send audio to an FM transmitter.
The problem is, I'm running into audio sync problems. The audio starts out synchronised (at least to the naked ear) but within 20-30 seconds it is noticeably out of sync, with the analog audio (form my FM radio) running around a half second ahead of the HDMI output (my main speakers).
So - where to begin finding where the sync problem is? The receiver? Conversions between 44Khz and 48Khz?
Any help much appreciated - google-foo hasn't turned up anything obvious so far.

Yeah - that was my thought - a very difficult, and probably insoluble problem as it stands. I can't just mute one of the devices as that would defeat the purpose of having multi-room music! Fortunately it's not too noticeable usually, as you can't usually hear the main stereo and the FM radios at the same time, unless you're standing in the right part of the house
The analog splitter cable not really a goer, since running clean, crisp multi-channel HDMI with pass through when needed is the essential goal of the HTPC. So unless I was to switch inputs and or unplug cables...
What I will end out doing, in the absence of a software solution, is hooking the FM transmitter directly to my receiver. I was going to just use the headphone-out jack of the receiver to feed audio to the FM transmitter, but the stoopid receiver can't output audio to external speakers at the same time as the headphone is plugged. To overcome this, I'll probably run a headphone amp off the receiver's RCA outputs, into the FM transmitter. Like this one: http://headamp.com/portable_amps/ae2/, or this one: http://www.amazon.com/Rolls-HA43-Headph … B00102ZOQC

  • I need to have audio out from HDMI and headphone jack simultaneously

No. You can only use one sound output:
Why can't I select HDMI audio on my Mac mini?
If you connect an HDMI display or television to a Mac mini (Mid 2010 or later), you might not be able to select the HDMI audio device (in System Preferences > Sound > Output). This can happen if you also have headphones plugged in to the computer. Unplug the headphones to be able to select HDMI audio.

  • EOS 5D Mark III Firmware Update: Clean HDMI Output and AF Improvements Explained

Canon has released an important firmware upgrade for the EOS 5D Mark III that will undoubtedly benefit DSLR cinematographers and still shooters alike. The 1.2.1 update enables the camera to record clean, uncompressed digital video data (YCbCr 4:2:2 8 bit) with encoded time code over the HDMI output, while simultaneously displaying video on the rear LCD and recording internally to CF or SD cards. This adds an enormous amount of flexibility to what is already one of the world’s top DSLR camera choices.
