Coax-OUT with Digital I/O-Modul doesn't w

Hallo,
i've got big problems with my X-Fi.
I bought a cable for the digital connection to my amplifier with integrated D/A-Board.(http://www.advance-acoustic.com/en-product.php?id=25)
This is how the driver looks:

Is it normal that the optical OUT doesn't shine?
The box is put in the last slot (where normally the mic is).
More information needed? (The cable is OK. I tested it with my DVD-Player)

I need a low profile soundcard that can deli'ver digital 5. through either coax or optical, looks like the audigy se will do just that. I have a yamaha receiver with DTS, DD, etc with a coax input that I want to use. I want to confirm that all I really need is a cable that has an /8 inch plug for the blue digital out on the soundcard with an RCA end for my receiver.... sounds simple enough to me but I want to make sure. I know I can get the digital I/O module but don't see a point if I just need the cable I mentioned.

Let's take Battlefield 242 for example. The game will not allow me to specify hardware sound.
That would be because that card DOES NOT have any hardware on it, it is a totally software dri'ven card.
And yes your old Li've card is much better than the Audigy SE. The Audigy SE is nothing more than a re-named SB Li've 24 bit, which is also a software based card (same applies to the X-Fi Xtreme Audio, a POS card that should have never been given the X-Fi name).

I've got a touch iPod and for about a week now it's almost been permenently zoomed into the screen? I actually cannot get it to zoom back out. I've tried pulling the screen out with my fingers but that doesn't work. It's zoomed in on my home pages, on my music, settings everything! It makes simple things like deleting a number from my password login extreamly differcult. Please can someone help?!?! Thanks.

Double tap the screen with three fingers to un-zoom.
Then go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom and turn this OFF.

X-Fi with Digital I/O Module = no Dolby Digital Out

i have buy the Digital I/O Module for my X-Fi Extrem Music and i have connect with a Koaxial Cable on my Kenwood 9060 Recei'ver. the Problem is i have only Stero signal but not Dolby Digital. in den Option from the X-Fi i have select in the Dolby option "Dolby Digital Bitstream Output" on. by Digital E/A i have select 48Khz and by FlexiJack Modus i have select Digital E/A. Speaker Settings i have select 5.. u use a Divx Movie with Dolby 5. Sound and view this with Media Player Classic with SPDIF Out. why can i hear only Stereo and not Dolby 5. on the Kennwod ?

Basically the root cause is that CL cards don't have a D/DD encoder. The bitstream option affects what happens w/ the bitstream read off a DVD.. If the sound was created by the a CL card it will be stereo at best.

5.1 sound with Digital I/O Module + Vista + X

Hello, I tried searching the forum and even browsed through 6 pages looking for a solution but I am stumped. I have an X-Fi XtremeGamer with the 002 drivers installed in Vista x32. I bought the Digital I/O Module from Creative and have the optical cable running to my Klipsch Decoder control box. I can not for the life of me figure out how to output the digital signal correctly. Do I set the Speakers item in the playback devices as default and enable Digital I/O in the custom tab Or do I check select SPDIF Out as my default device. I have tried many combinations and just can't get it to work. Any help Thanks

Thanks again for your continued help. My speaker set is the Klipsch ProMedia GMX D-5. System. I'm sure too that it is not the Klipsch as other sources (i.e. Digital Coax, Analog, and even another Digital Optical) decode and play properly. I'm not sure what X-Fi model I have as I can't take the computer apart right now but will try and do that this weekend. I downloaded and installed the Dell driver dll but still can't get it to work. How do you test your sound Can I just have the speaker configurer test each speaker or should I put a Dolby Digital DVD in I have my 5. headphones plugged into the speaker ports. 1) we are going to implement release strategy, but still business requirement to have a digital signature, Meaning, if only upto Supervisor release, then PO print should come with Supervisor digital signature, if PR value upto Supervisor & manager release, then PO print should come with Manager digital signature, if PR value upto Supervisor, Manager, GM Reelease, then PO print should come with GM digital signature, Whoever approves last, then their signature should appear in the PO printout - How to Achieve this?
2) If any amement in the Purchase order, then is it possible to reflect in the PO print out as Rev1 , Rev 2...?

X-Fi Xtreme Gamer with Digital I/O MOdule and YAMAHA HDR 6030 (No Sou

When I plug the above creative hardware into my receiver using either Coaxial or optical out I get no sound at all even when I install the latest software/drivers from creative? My OS is Vista Home Premium 32-bit. The computer is telling me that sound is playing but the receiver is not detecting any sound. I know the cables are good because other devices work with those cables. I have a Gigabyte GA-G33M-DR2/S2 motherboard. with Duel core CPU and GIG RAM. Radian X900XT Video card. In the Help it talks about passthrough option. Found by clicking the Dolby / DTS Button. I do not see this Dolby or DTS Logo button in the creative console Launcher.

Hi?I had the same problem, and here is the solution. ) Make sure u download the latest drivers for Vista. 2) After the installation u can goto the Control Panel> Sound Settings?You will see that there is 2devices listed. st is the Speakers configuration2nd there is the SPDIF configuration. Alter first the Speakers configuration to ur needs, enable the Digital out! > make sure u never select a frequency above 48khzAlter the SPDIF settings and test the sample rates that is given on the screen sothat u know what works with the card and not. If there are any problems leave the settings i gave exactly as instructed, and then goto urAudio Console and check there is a headphone settings and disable them. 5Creative Digital I/O Module with Audigy 2 ZS Problems? Hello - new to the forums, but a long time Soundblaster user.
I have read pkc's Digital Connections FAQ, but i am still struggling with my digital setup:
I have had an Audigy 2 ZS for some time. I have recently bought a surround sound amp and want to connect my PC to the amp digitally using the Audigy 2 ZS. So i have bought the Creative Digital I/O Module which understand is perfect for connecting the two, but i cannot get any output from it.
Firstly, the Creative Digital I/O Module is part no. SB0002 and has a 4 pole mini jack. I have connected it to the digital output of the Audigy. I have then connected the i/o module to the amp using digital coax cable. The amp receives no signal from the module and also i cannot see any light from the module's optical output. What do i need to do to get the i.o module working with the Audigy and sound to the amp?
Secondly, i have read in pjc's post that the digital output can act as a digital coax, but how do connect a 4-pole mini jack output to a single phono jack for the digital coax?

There are many possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Some may not apply to your model. Back up all data before making any changes.
1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article. Don't skip any of the steps. It's the starting point for further efforts to solve the problem.
2. Make sure you have a fully up-to-date installation of OS X.
3. If you've installed an application called "Memory Clean" or any other third-party software that is supposed to "clean" or "purge" memory automatically, remove it according to the developer's instructions and restart. You should do that even if the software is not causing the problem, because it's useless.
4. Other third-party software that has been reported to interfere with sound output includes "Boom" and "Samsung Kies." If applicable, uninstall according to the developer's instructions (not by dragging something to the Trash.)
5. If an AirPlay device is selected for sound output from iTunes (or from other applications via third-party software such as "Airfoil"), deselect it.
6. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select Built-in Output from the list on the left. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them.
7. If a red light is visible in the audio-out port when sound should be playing, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. If not, the machine needs to be serviced. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by the warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
8. Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If more than one display is connected, disconnect all extra ones. Restart and test.
9. If you have a MacBook Air, turn off Bluetooth and restart.
10. Start up in safe mode. Don't log in; just restart as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
11. Reset the NVRAM.
12. Reset the SMC.
13. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/Preferences/Audio
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Recreate your settings in the Sound preference pane.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
14. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data.
15. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.

Will the Sound Blaster Digital I/O Module enable me to use my DTT3500's with my audigy

I have a vanilla audigy 4. Just found out that it only supports 2. digital speakers. My DTT3500's are 5. and in the spaeker test only the front left and right make a sound, as digital 2.. will the Sound Blaster Digital I/O Module enable me to get digital 5. as my old soundblaster li've platinum 5. let me do? ie. all speakers show up in the speaker test?

No. The digital output module is simply an adaptor to standard 2-channel connections such as optical, coaxial etc. Even if it includes the bigger 9-pin DIN connector which was the first generation of the DIN connectors, the Digital Output on the Audigy 4 is still only giving it 2 channels of sound, so all rest speakers will be silent.
If you are interested and have the skills you may modify the DTT3500 to support an extra analog connection for the center channel, the instructions were posted on this forum somewhere. Do a search...
There is really no other way to have the center channel receiving the signal from the card. (Theoretically you could modify the card to get the signals from there, but the chances are you will most propably destroy it in the process).

JUnable to enable SPDIF? X-Fi XtremeGamer (non-PRO) w/ Digital I/O Module? I recently purchased the Digital I/O module in order to use SPDIF Out on my X-Fi XtremeGamer in order to send audio to my 5. receiver via digital coax.
However after hooking up my Digital I/O module to the flexijack (the one with the red light) I am unable to enable SPDIF.
I read and followed the directions listed here:

I have a PS3 and Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme music...
I want to connect the optical out of PS3 to my sound card's flexi jack(Mic/Linein/Digital I/O socket). I want to do this because I have Creative analog 7. speakers Inspire 7900.

You can change the pinout of the conector and test with spdif IN but in think dont work

This pinout is originally founded by Samir. In Audigy 2 ZS, connecting pins 25 and 35 together will fake Audigy dri've. In X-Fi, that trick doesn't work. No work around has been found yet. Cannot get SPDIF IN, I2S Input and MIDI I/O to work without it. SPDIF outs work fine without trick.
