Cobol XI Integration

Hello ,
Anyone out there done a Cobol app to R3 integration using XI ? Need some recommendations. Consultants welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Kiran

Kiran,
This shouldn't be a problem, as long as you can output a flat file (or XML formatted document) from the COBOL application. XI can read the file from your COBOL app business system using File adapter and translate & post in R/3 using suitable adapter.

Homiar.

  • WLI Transform COBOL to XML,  But I need Java

              <P>
              I am researching the method to takes the results of a CICS transaction which I
              get from a Queue in Websphere MQ and converts the response to a java object.
              We are currently using Websphere 3.5.4 and for good reason looking to migrate
              away from this. However there exists a tool which is delivered with Visual Age,
              the IDE, that will take a Copy Book and create a business object (basically a
              model). This business object knows how to parse the binary data recieved from
              the Queue. There is another class which we wrote that reads a message from the
              MQ Connector and determines which business object to create and passes the binary
              data to it. This object returns actual java business objects tothe caller. That
              works for what we curently do.

              As I understand using WebLogic Integration the following flow is how the process

              Is thiscorrect? <BR>
              Is there any tool to convert the xml to Java objects?<BR>
              Obivously I could write the conversion but we have a lot of request/response objects
              and some are very big. I'm looking for a tool to do this.

  • CC&B and Meter Data Management Integration Usage Requests

    Hello.
    We investigating the following issue: Trying to create a Bill in CC&B with getting usage data from Meter Data Management using Usage Requests engine. Help pages of CC&B describe the big picture of Usage Requests and configuration overview. So this information is not enough for correct and complete adjustments. There is no any information about outbound and inbound XML messages formats.
    CC&B help contains link to the document: Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing - Meter Data Management Integration Implementation Guide, but our attempts of searching of this document was ineffectual.
    It's interesting to get any information about Usage Requests from CC&B to Meter Data Management or link to the document mentioned above.
    Thanks in advance!
    P.S. Our current setup of Usage Request gives the next log during bill segment generation (we are using jms queues and xsl transformation of outbound and inbound messages. So MDM sends a response, but something wrong in further processing on CC&B side). As a result we get a bill segment in Error state with remark "Usage Request for Bill Segment is not found.".

  • Importing cobol copybook

    hi friends,
    Is there any way to import COBOL copy book in XI like Websphere Business Integrator does?
    Is any one aware of a easier method than creating XML structure of legacy message expected manually?
    your suggestions would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    sachin kotalwar

    In XI, if you create a data type with just one attribute, switch over to the XSD tab, you'll note "import & export XSD" are there.  If you export, you'll have the shell you need for the the XSD schema.  Although you created just one attribute, if you copy that block of lines over & over, XI will accept them back in and expand your layout with whatever fields you add.
    To make it easier, I dumped my copybook into an excel sheet, created a mailmerge with word, then copied that back into my exported XSD document... then you can re-import back to XI and all your fields are there.

    Please!!!!They are completely different languages and technologies. Cobol deals with flat files of data processed in sort of scanning/looping/reading back and forth ways (God how I hated Cobol!). As unrepentant old cobol programmer (though I haven't written a line of cobol in several years) I take umbrage at that. (Yes, being an unrepentant cobol programmer means I'm also a curmudgeon). Cobol is far more capable than simply looping through "read a record, write a record. It deals with far more than just flat files. It can quite easily access any dbms that supplies a pre-compiler - like, oh, say, Oracle's Pro*Cobol. Micro Focus (I believe they are now called Merant) produced a full line of cobol products for the PC. And all of it, the basic compiler, the integrated development environment (editor, source-code level debugger, gui,) emulation of mainframe CICS, IMS, and DB2 were all themselves written *in cobol*.
    There was never a technical reason for moving away from cobol. It was simply fueled by a generation of developers who though computing began with the Apple II and set out to have to discover (and then re-invent solutions for) problems that cobol programmers and the mainframe had solved years earlier. And PHB's who practiced "Management by Magazine Article" and got their technical advice from American Airlines Magazine.
    I've always maintained that people who hate cobol never really knew cobol.
    Oracle deals with relational indexed tables using SQL.
    Take your business requirements for what the report should be generating and write the report from scratch in Oracle. That way you'll make the most of Oracles technology.

  • What is new AT&T iPhone MMS date? I see integrated messaging feature

    Okay, I heard that this was to happen at then end of Summer, then end of July.
    So what is the new date? I see Integrated Messaging counters in my AT&T profile as of this week.
    Should we expect another update to sync with iTunes to get it working?

    Funny. I'm going to mark this question as answered -and this last post as funny.
    I hope it isn't sarcasm, cause my sarcasm detector runs on Windows 7 and I currently have my VMware Fusion session powered off.
    The heart of my question was really the "integrated message" counter in my AT&T profile. I was hoping to hear others just got it, or don't have it, or when they got it, and they I could magically extrapolate a new MMS rumor date.
    Anyway, I don't have to go to UK (although a good choice), cause Rogers in Canada has MMS already.

  • How to print Integrity sql in the preparedstatement?

    How to print Integrity sql in the preparedstatement?
    Connection conn = null;
    String sql = "select * from person where name=?";
    PreparedStatement ps = conn.prepareStatement(sql);
    ps.setObject(1, "robin");
    ps.executeQuery();
    i'm wants print Integrity sql.
    For example:select * from person where name='robin'
    How should I do?
    thanks a lot!

    PreparedStatement doesn't offer methods for that. You can write your own implementation of PreparedStatement which wraps the originating PreparedStatement and saves the set* values and writes it to the toString().
    If needed, myself I just print the sql as well as the values-being-set to the debug statement.Logger.debug(query + " " + values);

  • Can i use OER to store the data from a excel sheet that pertains to the entire integrations ?

    hi ,
    i know that the OER can be used to view the entire landscape for the SOA composites and how they are related with each other. However we have a requirement wherein we need to store the data for the entire integration end systems e.g. ebiz, mfgpro, siebel etc ( that is we need to store data one level up).
    Also,  we want a customized form in OER wherein user can manually add data regarding the integrations.
    So is it possible to do so ? If yes, how ?

    ok, let me put it this way,
    I tried using the import/export utility available under OER admin tab.
    When i export my existing assets it generates the .xml file for each asset. Now as i have hundreds on new assets to be created for each asset type i want to be able to create a new .xml file and want it to create the new asset once i import it using import utility. I tried creating a new .xml file giving it a new UUID but it does not seem to work. Has anyone tried this earlier who can give the steps to do this ?

    Hi Jhansi,
    Whether u create HRconnDS in ur Weblogic server
    If not create it ...
    If yes just check it out whether u gave a correct connection string for it......

  • OIM 9.1.0 Integration with Active Directory 2008 R2

    Hi,
    My customer is running Root/Child AD structure based on windows 2003 w/SP2, OIM 9.1.0 deployed under one of the child domains, and integrated with child domains controllers which runs windows server 2003 as well.
    My customer has decided to upgrade his AD to Windows Server 2008 R2 domain controllers across the entire AD Forest and still wants to integrate the current OIM v9.1.0 with AD for all of his Users provisioning and password synchronizations.
    Am not sure if current OIM version of OIM 9.1.0 is compatible and supported by OIM v9.1.0 under active directory version 2008 / R2, and not sure if it can be integrated with such AD version.
    Any guidance is really appreciated.
    Also I was thinking of such scenario but also not sure of its support ability and if OIM will keep working on such scenario, the scenario is to upgrade only the AD root domain to Windows 2008 R2 while keeping the child domain holding the OIM 9.1.0 at Windows 2003 version.
    Is this a working and supported scenario by OIM v9.1.0 ?

    I believe you question should be if the connector supports this architecture. Check out the versions supported for the connector you are using and you should be good.
