Has anyone seen this error on COBRAS import?

Verified this morning that imports into 7.1(5) were incorrectly adding the option for call handlers to set all messages as private which is not an option that version of Connection supported in the stored proc (it wasn’t added till 8.0) – fixed it to only include it if the target version is 8.0(1) or later and posted 8.0.51 here:

Getting Error :- Only one instance of COBRAS Export can be running at a time

Hi All,
I was checking the Briefcase Mode help file and it mentions for Unity Conection
that COBRAS will run multiple instances of itself – if you schedule multiple backups to fire up at the same time they will all run at the same time.
However if I schedule multiple backups to fire at the same time then I get the error :- "Only one instance of COBRAS Export can be running at a time".
This also happens if the COBRAS windows is left open and the scheduled backup starts in the background.

I am not sure if I am making a mistake in understanding the statement :- "COBRAS will run multiple instances of itself – if you schedule multiple backups to fire up at the same time" or do we need to add any switch like lot of other application need like /m etc in the field of the scheduled backups as I see as /silent switch for process to run in background automatically but none for multiple instances.
I am attaching the screen shots of the errors I got when
A.) I scheduled 2 backups to run at the same time and the COBRAS application window was open "COBRASExportCUC7.exe" was running and no backup took place and got errors for both the scheduled backups.
And
B.) I scheduled 2 backups to run at the same time and the COBRAS application window was closed off and "COBRASExportCUC7.exe" was not running and one of the scheduled backups started to work and the other one gave error and didn't work

Cobras Export :- Version 1.0 Build 76

Yeah, I’m of two minds on that – on the one hand it’s bad style to have a scheduled application popping dialog boxes (especially if you’re running as an account you don’t log in as regularly) – one the other hand I did have some sites go a while not noticing backups were failing (due to a UNC not flying any longer after a server reconfig) – folks can be bad about checking log files or the event log for issues. A pop up would pretty much guarantee they’d notice on next login at any rate.
I think I may stitch in email notifications in COBRAS Export in the same way they’re in the User Data Dump so failures of scheduled backups would be noticed right away (big, bright email in your box saying “failed!” would do it).
Either way, I’ll update the help and make sure it fails quietly for now when I update some other items on the site middle of next week.

Error While processing the COBRA qualified Life event

Hi All,
We have setup the Termination Life event as a COBRA qualifying life event.
Also setup the a new monthly payroll as the default payroll and set the benefit assignment to Yes at BG level.
I created an employee on 18 aug 2010 , processed new hire life event and enrolled that employee into the COBRA plan named "Be well Medical Plan".
Then When I terminated the employee as on 18oct2010, While Processing The Termination life event, I am getting an Error saying “When determining pay periods, a payroll Id is required. This error has occurred in the following package : ben_distribute_rates.get_periods_between. "
When I searched for this error in metalink ,it says it does not have a payroll id ,but when I check on 19oct2010 using the People->Total Comp Participation->Person Benefits Assignment window, he has got the default payroll attached to his benefits assignment.
Could you please help me to reslove this issue?

Hi Anuradha,
This error comes in many scenarios and there are bug fixes also for them. Please check on all patches available for you apps patchset level having the file benelmen.pkb. You may find a fix for it. (This was a common issue sometime back with suspended/terminated assignments) Also, I suggest logging a SR with oracle asap if your terminated assignment and also the benefits assignment have the correct payrolls attached.

COBRAS Data Viewer error 3709

Hey guys --
I am currently getting an error while running COBRAS Data Viewer, as soon as I run the application and select the database that I exported, I get the following error:
(error): 3709 (The connection cannot be used to perform this operation. It is either closed or invalid in this context.) in procedure listHandlers_Click of From frmMain
I have to click 'OK' couple times to clear the message. Then everytime I select a subscriber, the same error appears.
Any thoughts?

hmmm... I'm running build 25 as well and I just opened several 7.1(3) backups I have - no problems. Can you select the "Backup Details" option
and post for me the details it kicks out for your backup? i'm guessing the backup was made with an older version of Export and a column name it's expecting to be there in the backup is not - i'll need to add logic so "if version is less than X" it doesn't attempt to fish that value.

COBRA Letter Generation Errors

Hi Folks,
Our users are getting errors while generating COBRA letters (HRBENUSCOB002). The errors are:
"Event 01 on 10/12/2011: Preceding event 07 on 10/22/2007 has not been processed yet"
"NO entry for benefit plan M052"
"Loss of dependent status of 10/22/2007: Error while checking COBRA-relevant plans"
These errors keep coming for quite a few employees.
Any inputs would really help on how to fix these issues. The IT 0211 is not getting created for them due to this.

COBRAS Export error message

I am importing users to CUC 8.6 from Unity 7. I used COBRAS to export and using COBRAS to import. I have moved 200+ users and I am getting the following error message on one user.
"The extension number conflicts with an existing object in the selected partition on the target voice mail server."
Where is the conflict?

I would download CUDLI http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/CxN/CUDLI/CUDLI.html and there is a feature where you can search the entire database for a specific value. Enter in the extension of this user and see what table(s) may already be using this extension.

Dealing with CORBA in tomcat. Q about get error message in COBRA program

Hi, all:
I have complete a project by using CORBA. Now I want to put it inside of tomcat.
the problem is:
i wrote a javaBean to activate the program.
when i called from my jsp file. it should happen:
jsp---> javaBean (Runtime.getRuntime.exec(vbj ***))
however, when i checked the process ID, i found the program is not running at background.
I checked the exit value when i use (process.waitFor()); it is 0.
Because the CORBA program has some std output message. and try catch block.
I just wonder how can i get this information.

I have always started my Cobra Factory outside of Tomcat, as a
standalone process from either the DOS prompt or Unix Prompt.
Then I used JSP's clients deployed in Tomcat to communicate with
the Corba Objects, this always worked for me.

Cobras export Error

We are upgrading from Unity Conncection 7.X MCS to 9.1 on UCS and we get the following error right before the import completes. The import completes successfully but I just want to make sure we won't have any issues given the following error:

no worries - that "WriteObjectSectionTitleToHTML" item there is just what makes the section titles in the report output (the html report that consolidates all the warnings/errors and such into a readable report with links to objects in the CUCA admin) - it has nothing at all to do with the import itself, it's just the report generation done _after_ the import is complete.
the log file still has (error) and (warning) text you can search through to see if anything of concern went on - the report itself is still valid, it looks like it'll be missing the configuration settings header - I'll have to take a look at that.

Unity Uprgade COBRAS Export getting and error

Getting this message when I tried to start the COBRAS Export "Could not attach to DOH for message extraction - be sure you are logged in as the account associated with the CsMgr service before selecting this option."

i have a user ,say Jbloggs that requires access to COBRAS tool. I have given him relevant permissions to run the tool and it works ok however if he includes to back up messages he gets the 'not associated with account running avcsmgr' . (as above).
If I was to give jbloggs account the same exchange rights as UnitymsgStoreSvc account would that be sufficient? What I dont want is to re run permissions wizard and find that all critical services are running with jbloggs account (albeit I can manually change these afterwards back to the service accounts).
Does the system just check rights or does it check what the AVCMGR service is running with?

Getting Java error while opening schedueld workbooks

Hi Experts . My Discoverer environment is 10g(9.0.4) .
when me and end users are trying to open scheduled workbooks . getting a java error . the error is

Error Max no of items in FI reached during CJ88

Hi All, We are getting a similar error as above in cj88 error no F5727. The number of Fixed Assets defined in Level 1 WBS is 964. This is less than 999 so dont understand why this issue is coming. I find two other discussions in this forum: First we can use another secondary WBS to post all the cost which is not possible here as we define all fixed assets only in level 1 wbs Second we found the note 36353 is this going to help? Third we can settle cost to one single WBS only rather than all these and then transfer cost or distribute to all FXA through Asset posting. But this is also not possible as how to change the settlement rule now. All these line items are already used in previous period 12/2014 and there are no unsettled balances of previous period. Then how to remove this error? Can anybody suggest.

You are not yet reached to 999 levels still it is giving an error message, strange. Can you check the settlemen rules at table level does it have more than what you see on the settlement screen. if that is the case then you delete unwanted netries from table COBRB and COBRA by using SM30.

Error - when a report is scheduled in WebI - "this"

I have a very complex report which connects to BEX query and have complex contexts and many variables to satisfy the requirement.
Firstly to run the report it takes a long time as the Cobra fails due to the heap size even when the size is increased. Hence the work around solution was to schedule the reprot. the report it self runs on Prompt where the object is an Hierarchy Object.
Now when I run the report I have an error message stating below
"while trying to invoke the method com.sap.ip.bi.base.application.base.IModifiableListBase.get(int) of an object loaded from field com.sap.ip.bi.bics.dataaccess.consumer.impl.queryview.resultset.tuples.RsAxisTuple.m_elements of an object loaded from local variable 'this'"
I have followed the OSS notes recomembed in one of the notes (1774121) but no luck, I have changed as suggested below but still I the same error.
OSS - Recomendation, also tried to increse the Timeout to "7200000"
SAP note: 1774121, make sure "R" in --RequestTimeout 3600000 as "-requestTimeout 3600000" . SAP recommend to timeout as 2 hrs or 3 hrs

Can you try these workarounds:
Since you told yours is a very complex be report, I would suggest you to enable cache on the Bex and prerun on the BW side.Schedule the same bex. Now when the webi runs, it will pickup the cache instance and run much faster for BOBJ
Can you please check if the report runs fine if the underlying data set is reduced.In that case, can you purge the data and rerun the report and see how it works
What are the hierarchy dimensions involved in your report. Can you run the report by dropping those dimensions and the hierarchy variable.
I strongly suspect it has something to do with Hierarchy/Variables.

Ready Time out error in application log

Hi All,
Recently application are throwing below error when they are connected to databases engine.
Application and Databases are two different servers.
SQL Server Version: SQL Server 2012 Enterprises Editon
Applicaiton: JAVA
