  • Error code 0x80092013 when trying to access iTunes store

    I currently have the lastest version of iTunes unstalled on a Windows Vista PC. For a few months now, I get the error code 0x80092013 when trying to connect to the iTunes store or log in to my iTunes account. I have tried to run diagnostics but there is no help availavle because iTunes will not connect to the internet to get the help I need.
    I have scoured the interent for a solution to this problem and have tried everything I have come accross, from re-installing to reading every support page I can find. I am becoming so frustrated trying to fix this problem, it is not my apple ID as my iPad works perfectly fine. If anyone can give me a solution that actually works it would be greatley appreciated

    After some research I found the following tip to be working:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/25038447#25038447
    So I changed my IPv4 as well as IPv6 DNS-Servers under Windows Network Preferences and everything worked again.

  • Itunes error code 0x80092013

    As of May / June 2013 :Have been unable to sign into the itunes store for the last  (2) updates of itunes. All windows 7 updates completed. All driver updates completed.
    Uninstalled, re-installed still hopeless response. Tried numerous useless advice from various apple and windows forums.
    This error code has been haunting itunes & windows for a couple of years now, surely some one at Apple could put some time in to resolve this lack of response to an aging problem.

    Long story short: Until iTunes feels the need to address this in the next update we're screwed. I need access to iTunes more than ever now that I have an iPhone 5 so I can authenticate my computer and add music. Hopefully this will be fixed sooner than later.

  • I cannot connect to I tunes store using I tune 11.1 I get the error 0x80092013 "secure link to I tunes store failed" does anyone know what this is?

    I cannot connect to the I tunes store after recently downloading I tunes 11.1 I just get the error code 0x80092013 so not sure what to do. I have tried deleting and then reinstalling I tunes with no luck. I tried to flush my DNS but that did not work, I tried the diagnostics in I tunes and it told me my connections were fine but said the "secure link to I tunes store failed" Looking for an answer thanks!

    Okay I was able to connect back to the I tunes store in I tunes 11.1 taking care of the error 0x80092013. I did this in XP going to the firewall controls, selecting the exception tab. I tunes was already in the exceptions tab but I deleted it anyway, then I added I tunes back using the Add Program button then browsing to the I tunes.exe location in the C drive then selected that as the program. I tunes showed back up in the exceptions once again. I then shut down the computer and restarted it and I then had a connection with I tunes. So the I tunes in the exceptions tab in the firewall was not working I just replaced it with a fresh one.

  • 0x80992013 cannot access itunes store I have tried all of the suggested things on previous discussions but still not working. Any suggestions?

    When I try to open itunes on my school network windows Xp computer I get an error message with this code 0x80092013. I have tried all of the suggestions from apple support document but nothing has worked.

    Have you left the iPod to charge for a couple of hours and then tried resetting it again? It can take up to at least 30 minutes of charging before an iPod with a dead battery shows any signs of life.  By a reset, I assume you mean pressing and holding both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear?
    iPod won't turn on

  • I keep getting an error code of 0x80092013

    i get this error code and it tells me itunes could not complete your itunes store request...just started getting this with the 10.6 update.  any suggestions out there????  I'm on a PC with Windows XP

    I just viewed the website on my computer, and it appears to be working okay on my end. It's possible that there's a setting in your web browser responsible for what you're seeing. I would recommend trying the following steps:
    1. Try to view the site in a different web browser to see if that's the issue. Normally, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all display the website properly. Try one or two of those (other than the one you've been using) and it should do the trick.
    2. If that doesn't work, try resetting Internet Explorer's default settings by clicking "Tools" (on the top menu bar), "Internet Options" (usually at the bottom of that list), "Advanced" (far-right tab), and "Reset" (towards the bottom-right of that box). After resetting the defaults, try viewing the ePrint Settings area again.
    If I have SOLVED your issue, please feel free to provide KUDOS and make sure you mark this thread as SOLUTION PROVIDED!

  • Unable to log into itunes store (0x80092013) and update problems

    I am having problems logging into the itunes store using itunes 10.6.0.40 in Wndows 7 in the uk  which results in the error message shown below:
    'We could not complete your itunes store request.  An unknown error occurred (0x80092013).  There was an error in the itunes store please try again later"
    However, I am able to browse the itunes store without any problems (this does not require logging in).
    In addition selecting the menu item Help > Check for updates in itunes results in the message "The itunes server could not be contacted.  Please check your internet connection or try again later'
    I also have two ipods and an ipad and clicking on the <Check For Update> button on each of them within itunes results in the error message "The ipod update server could not be contacted.  Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connectivity is active or try again later".
    In trying to fix the above problems I have tried the following:
    Re-installed itunes
    Ran ipconfig /flushdns
    Changed my dns entries to use dynamic dns entries and also tried googles settings (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)
    Put entries in the hosts file for gs.apple.com etc
    Reset the winsock using the command netsh winsock reset
    Turned Norton smart firewall off completely
    Ensured interent settings were set to 'Check for server certificate revocation' was unticked and "SSL 3.0" and "TLS 1.0." were both ticked
    General internet connectivity is working fine it is just itunes where the problems are.
    I can also log onto the itunes store from the ipad itself without a problem.
    I also have a Windows Vista laptop which can connect to the itunes store without a problem and can also run the menu item Help > Check for updates and results in a message saying itunes is the latest version.  This also runs Norton Smart Firewall and is having no problems.  So I am assuming from this that my setup is not at fault and it is not an isp issue.
    I have also noticed that a number of other people are reporting problems logging into the itunes store and also error 0x80092013.
    The results of an itunes diagnostic test (Help > Run Diagnostics) are shown below (this shows that the itunes store can be browsed but attempts at prurchasing etc cannot be completed)

    I have spoken directly with Apple over the last couple of hours.  They are aware of the problem and are going to ask their engineering department to investigate.  It is perhaps not a big priority at the moment as they say they only have 30 confirmed reports of the issue worldwide.
    Is it possible that there are other people who are having the same problem and are watching the forums waiting for answers?  If so, please report the problem.  This is the only way for Apple to understand the scale of the problem (if indeed it is a big problem) and to be able to escalate the issue and allocate suitable resources.  The issue we are seeing is:
    I mentioned what you said about downgrading - I have also contemplated this but I am expecting I will need to run 10.6 for HD media and syncing with the new iPad.  Apple agree downgrading is not an acceptable solution, and there must be a way forward, but if you dont need 10.6 then why not downgrade until the problems are resolved.
    My take on the problem is this:
    The error code is the same as a Windows error code that suggests the issue is with accessing the certificate revovation lists (CRL).  iTunes 10.6 is a signed application that needs to access a CRL to determine whether its certificate is still active.   iTunes own diagnostic tool points in the same direction too.  The network connectivity test (see image below) shows the network interface and internet connection are fine.  It is just the secure link that is failing.  It is possible to view the apple store, and download podcasts etc.. but it is not possible to sign into an account or make purchases.
    One person has replied to many of these postings suggesting the problem can be fixed by updating DNS settings, which could add weight to this theory.  The person who posted this didnt explain why this worked for them, but if DNS settings have not propogated fully for a new CRL this could be causing problems for some users.  If so this could just fix itself in the coming days, or it may work if you can connect to the internet from a different connection like a public wifi hotspot.
    I will post updates if I get anywhere or hear anything back from Apple.

  • Itunes store error 0x80092013 windows 7

    Ok before I start, I've started a new discussion because I want to layout all those things which I have tried to resolve this issue so before anyone posts a "try this" please read what I have already tried.
    Symptoms - When trying to access the itunes store a dialog box comes up saying unable to access store error 0x80092103, additionally under itunes 11:04 if you try to run the diagnostics itunes freezes. Additionally the behaviour under an earlier version of itunes 10.6 when accessing the itunes store the error code was 1202 but you could run diagnostics to completion (which reports no errors)
    Ok the things I've tried
    Earlier version of itunes - as you can see from above I did try 10.6 but same symptoms just different error code
    Re-installing itunes - Yes tried removing all instances of any programs which may have even looked closely related to anything apple, cleared all directories from windows explorer, rebooted and installed itunes but the same error displayed afterwoods. (Including appdata directories under [user] )
    Date Time - Yes tried the date time, tried setting different timezones, with reboots inbetween, same error
    Internet options - SSL3/TLS1 and server certificate revocation, tried these in various combinations with reboots in between, no luck
    Winsock reset and dns flush - Again I have tried this using various combinations of rebooting and not rebooting, running at elevated admin lvl and placing the whole lot of commands in a script to then execute itunes but still the same error occurs.
    Running itunes as admin and safe mode - Neither of these two options helped at all
    Running without AV software or windows firewall switched off - Yep have tried this as well, but no luck
    Microsoft Hotfix for Crypt revocation -  2615174, no joy either
    Revert to earlier version of Apple installer - ApplicationSupport 1.5.2  - tried a couple of earlier versions, same error
    Removed itunes preferences - Had covered this during previous install processes but thought it might be worthwhile trying post install, no luck same error.
    Winsock conflict - Yes checked the autoruns to see what else was there, only other entry was an entry for microsoft entry for msmail.
    The environemt is a windows 7 machine with the latest updates, the itunes store did work previously but stopped in the last week of may (as I'm told by the owner of the laptop, yes people this is an inlaws machine). When I first looked at the notebook I checked that no new programs had been added after the date itunes store stopped working. The rest of itunes is behaving ok, that is if you accept that itunes is a good piece of software :-) with the exception of the diagnostic tool freezing when it runs (ironic huh?)
    The owner did do the right thing before calling on me and spent several hours on the phone with Apple support to no avail and gave up in frustration, which apparently pleased the Apple tech.
    I'm sure I've tried a few more things(like diferent internet connections to rule out any isp based issues(they do have another desktop in the house which runs itunes store ok)) but none come to mind as you can appreciate I've spent quite a few hours on this.
    So calling on itunes gurus please come to the rescue, funny though the absence of apple techs replying to the already many threads on this on their own forums suggests that they don't have a solution perhaps "incapable of" or "not bothered", either way it's pretty poor.

    I suspect the itunes error is related to a broken certificate chain.
    "CertVerifyCertificateChainPolicy failed with error 0x80092013"
    (log file under c:\users\[username]\appdata\roaming\apple computers\logs)
    I took an image of the original machine and restored to a vm and pared down the system and used revo to clear out itunes 11, went back as far as itunes 9.2 looking to find some synergy with the v11 message.
    Under v9 and v10 of itunes the store does not render correctly, the text displays but all images are omiited and just a placeholder is displayed. I've attached 3 images to illustrate, the first image is how the itunes store renders, I then copied the link from the itunes store and entered that into firefox (2nd image) and then lastly into safari. You'll see that itunes and safari are having the same problem rendering the page where as firefox is displaying correctly. (btw IE works the same as firefox)
    Clicking on a link in the itunes store results in error msg 1202, this is consistent with v9 and v10.
    Going back to safari I went to a secure banking site(www.netbank.com.au)to test a theory, basically the same behaviour is exhibited with the addition of a prompt from safari saying that the website certificate is invalid, the page loads just text with image placeholders but no images as though the css is failing validation. This also generates an error in the same fashion as itunes in the above log.
    In the original post I had tried the Microsoft Hotfix for Crypt revocation -  2615174 as some people have tried this but uninstalling the hotfix and retrying did not work.
    In addition I've tried various combinations of itunes with older versions of quicktime, even went to the trouble of extracting older versions of apple application support and running those against newer versions of itunes, all to no avail.
    Some have suggested that this is a connectivity issue, so just to make sure I created a vm of my notebook and ran that against the non working version, so they had the same hardware, same network adapter, new ip stacks and of course the non working version continued to fail and my notebook vm worked ok.
    Just to emphazie that the itunes store is connecting this is a screen shot of the store in column browser mode
    (fyi - that's a really good book by SF, that one or the Hippopatamus)
    I've also tried removing all the root certificates from the windows installation with the idea of retrieving them as required but this does not help, the certificates are retrieved but itunes/safari continue to have an issue.
    As you might appreciate I've spent some time on this and would appreciate input from someone who can help, my lock and shammy have been seriously neglected .

  • I cannot get into the iTunes store. I keep getting error message 0x80092013

    I have spent hours trying to get into the iTunes store without success. Error message 0X80092013 keeps appearing. Someone has suggested maybe a driver is missing. Please help if you can. (I can get into the store using my laptop. I cannot get into it from my desktop.) I'm using Windows Vista.

    many thanks.
    I am in my iTunes application and when I press the link to connect to the iTunes Store, it starts churning, and churning, but never connects. It has churned for hours and when I finally click the "X" to close it, I get error code 11222.
    I'd try the following document:

  • Generate prov.xml for Creative Cloud. Return Code 27

    We're trying to follow this guide (Creative Cloud Help | Using Adobe Provisioning Toolkit Enterprise Edition) to serialize a package (or something). We're stuck on generating prov.xml. My best attempt at an entry is:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP\utilities\APTEE>adobe_prtk.exe --tool=VolumeSerialize --generate --serial=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx --regsuppress=ss --eulasuppress --locales=en_US --provfilepath=C:\Program Fil
    es (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP
    It says half of this is optional, but I'm skeptical.
    Anyway, I'm getting return code 27. This indicates that it is unable to edit the prov.xml file specified. I didn't specify a prov.xml file, I'm trying to make one. The syntax I'm using differs from what I found on the page I linked, as that was giving me syntax errors. I lifted this off someone else's code. I've tried just about every variation I can think of. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Code returns "null" and "0"s in main module - why?

    I am coding a program that is in two modules. The main module serves it's standard function. The inventory class/module has three functions - 1) request stock input on 4 data points (1 String and 3 integers, one of which is a double) - 2) calculate the value of the inventory, and - 3) return string which reads out the 4 data points and the calculation showing the total value of the inventory. I've created the 3 functions in the inventory class/module, but obviously don't have them referring to each other correctly because when we come to the end of the program the output is null for the String and "0"s for the int/doubles. The code is below - any ideas about how to overcome the empty output? The code compiles fine and acts like it is going to work, but when it comes to the final command line it outputs
    "null, which is item number 0, has 0 currently in stock at a price of 0.00 each. The total value of inventory in stock is 0.00"
    Main module:
    public class Main {
        @SuppressWarnings("static-access")
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Inventory inventory = new Inventory(); //call Inventory class
            inventory.inventoryInput();
            Inventory results = new Inventory();
            results.inventoryResults(); //call for inventoryResults in Inventory class
    }Inventory module:
    import java.util.Scanner;
    import static java.lang.System.out;
    public class Inventory
      //declare and initialize variables
       int itemNumber = 0;
       String productName;
       int stockAmount = 0;
       double productCost = 0;
       double totalValue = 0;
       String inventoryResults;
       //initialize scanner
       Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in);
       public void inventoryInput ()
       out.println("Please enter item number: "); //prompt for item number
          itemNumber = input.nextInt();
       out.println( "Enter product name/description: "); //prompt for product name
          productName = input.next();
       out.println("Quantity in stock: ");
          stockAmount = input.nextInt(); // prompt for stock quantity
       out.println("What is the product cost for each unit? ");
          productCost = input.nextDouble(); // prompt for product cost
        } // end inventoryInput
        public double totalValue( double stockAmount, double productCost )
          totalValue = stockAmount * productCost;
          return totalValue; // return stock value
        } // end totalValue
        public void inventoryResults()
        out.printf("%s, which is item number %d, has %d currently in stock at a " +
         "price of %.2f each. The total value of inventory in stock is " +
         "%.2f\n.", productName, itemNumber, stockAmount, productCost, totalValue);
        } // end inventoryResult
    }// end method

    Actually my final solution was quite simple - I moved the calculation and final formated print text statements into the body of Inventory's class code. It now works. "Works" scares me a bit.
    Someone cooking dinner might rummage about in the fridge and the cupboards to see what's there. Do imaginative things with what they come up with. And, with a bit of luck come up with something tasty or, at any rate edible.
    A physician deciding on a medical treatment would do well to try a more cautious approach. A specific aim would be a good thing. And a calculated appreciation of the documented effects of each medicine. And how they interact.
    It's up to you to determine which approach your coding should resemble. But it seems to me that your original Main class had a perfectly good reason to exist. It was a driver class whose purpose seemed to be to create and use an Inventory. (And using an Inventory is a very different thing from being an Inventory, so it made perfect sense to have two different classes.) To me it works or not, depending on whether it fufills that purpose. And what you have done is not so much solve the problem of it not working, as avoid that problem.
    (If by "moved" you mean that the outputting now occurs as part of - or is called from - inventoryInput() then that is not a good thing. The input method should input: just input.)
    I think that is because once the original input was loaded into the program (when I entered product number, name, price and value), the entries were dropped when the code switched to the next step. I think your intuition is entirely correct. In particular look at what your original main() method does (my comments replacing yours):
    Inventory inventory = new Inventory(); // (A) Create an inventory...
    inventory.inventoryInput(); // ... and put stuff into it
        // (B) Create some new entirely different (and empty) inventory...
    Inventory results = new Inventory();
    results.inventoryResults(); // ... and print its contentsInstead of creating a second inventory, try printing the results of the first one.
