I had QuickTime Pro installed on my PC and lost it when the PC unexpectedly toasted itself.
Is there anyway to recover my activation code for QT Pro on the PC?
(XP Pro now running via Boot Camp on this computer)

Log in at the Apple Store using the same account ID that made the purchase.
Click the "downloadable software history" to review your purchase of Pro.

HT2376 How do i retrieve a lost key code for Pro if it is older than 18 months ? which is the longest you can look at on the orders history page.

I Upgraded to quicktime pro years ago on my pc , then when i got a mac i purchased another copy for mac. I ve now gone back to pc and want to retrieve my old key code. The check your order history only goes back 18 months and i think i got mine about 4 years ago . Any advice ? or do i need to buy another copy . Cheers

Regardless of what any of us think, the fact is that Apple no longer provides lookup of orders older than 18 months. Why they chose this none of us here can say, but that's what they have decided. So it's no longer possible to look up a QuickTime key purchased more than 18 months ago. If the user failed to keep a copy of the email or otherwise record the key, as Apple themselves advise, then a new QT Pro key will be required.

I received a Back-to-School gift card with my purchase of my laptop that had $100 on it back in 2012. I used it once last year to purchase Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Platinum. I wanted to buy The Sims 2 yesterday, but I had to update the version of OS X I had to run the program. I had to wait overnight to let it update since I had school in the morning. Long story short, the card somehow disappeared over night and I've been searching like crazy this morning to find it. To no avail, it didn't show up. I was wondering if there is any way I could find the code somewhere since I had made a purchase on it a while ago. I was able to view the purchase through iTunes, but I wasn't able to find a code. It's already been redeemed on my Apple ID and everything. All I need is the code. Any help, please?
I have a MacBook Air and the update I just installed was OS X Yosemite 10.10.1

I know the amount left on it, which is about $60. The issue is I'd like to use my card again, but I lost it and I need the code on the back to use it again. When I tried to make the purchase, it wanted me to reenter the code despite that the gift card was already redeemed on the account.
There was no expiration date on the card and my account is still showing the amount left on it.

When I connect my MacBook Pro to my iMac with the firewire to use as a monitor it makes me enter the Key producy code for Office:Mac 2011 every time.
Then when I disconnect my MacBook I have to enter the product key again to use office on it???

Hello everybody. I am trying to reinstall my Quicktime 7 Pro after having my MacBook OSX 10.5.8 cleaned out following a hacking. I have Quicktime player and I reregistered with the purchased registration code for Quicktime 7 pro. It seems to be successfully registered with "Quicktime 7 Pro" appearing under the inserted registration code but it is not showing in Applications folder and I do not know how to access it or what to do. I cannot enter the key code for updating to QuickTime Pro 7 as there is no Icon in Preferences and no Registration option in menu?

I have followed the clear instructions to enter the purchased key code for QuickTime Pro 7. There are two options offered:-
1. Go into Preferences and select the QuickTime Player icon and enter the code that way.
2. Open QuickTime Player and open up ‘registration’ and enter the key code.
For whatever reason I have neither option available to me although QuickTime player is on my system and I use it regularly. It is version 10 build (118). I have run software updates and there is no upgrade available. I have downloaded the latest version and tried to load it but this fails because the system finds a version already available. I have attempted to uninstall but whilst it moves it from the Application folder, it remains on the Mac as it is part of the system files. So I cannot use the Pro version. The iMac is a 27” Intel about a year old and has all the software updates available to me installed.
Any offers for suggestions or past experiences that can help me overcome this conundrum?

Both answers were spot on. I made the mistake yesterday of downloading the version for Leopard in my haste. I also thought the issue was related to having to uninstall the current version X.
So the moral of the episode is check the version you have and make certain you download the correct version for your system. All works now.

Code for Final Cut Pro 2 not being accepted by FC Studio 2

I upgraded to OS X 10.4.11 from 10.4.2. The FC Studio 2 icon would bounce a few times and stop, but nothing else would happen. 10.4.2 was reinstalled, erasing everything. An attempt was made at starting FCP 2, but the OS is not finding the files necessary in OS 9.
Upgrades Final Cut Pro 4 and FC Studio 2 were made since purchasing FCP 2 as a full package approximately 7 years ago, but FC Studio 2 is not accepting the code for Final Cut Pro 2. How do I correct the problem short of buying the full FC Studio 2 or buying a new hard drive?

It doesn't make sense to me either. As Thomas stated, the crossgrade that required you to send in your old FCP install disc was for Final Cut Studio version 1 (which included FCP 5.1) - NOT version 2. And regardless of the fact that you sent in your install disc, you should still have the serial number for FCP 4. It was printed on two stickers that were attached to the "Installing Your Software" booklet that was included when you purchased FCP 4 (upgrade or full retail versions).
There is NO need to have the old software installed in order to install and upgrade to FCS 1 or 2. All you need is the serial number form the older version; you'll be prompted to enter it during the install process for FCS 1 or 2.
FCP 2 may install on an OSX version, but will NOT run on ANY OSX version - it only runs on a full installation of OS 9.

The QT X v10.1 app installs in your "Applications folder and QT 7 v7.6.6 (whether keyed for "Pro" use or not) is installed in the "Applications/Utilities" folder. It is recommended you keep them in these locations so they will continue to update correctly/automatically.

I just bought Quicktime pro to install on my new imac. I cannot seem to find where to enter the registration code. My current version is QT X. I see from other forums that I should not delete X but still cannot seem to find how to do this. Please help.

I have entered my name and reg code accurately. There is no place to press enter so I am not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.
Pressing the "Tab" key enters the data as explained HERE.
In actual fact, I don't think Pro is installed.
If in doubt, try opening the "Properties" window or exporting a file. If you can do so, then the app is keyed for "Pro" use.

Need UPC code for my Macbook Pro 4,1

This is an older unit, MB166LL/A; in order to list on amazon.com, they require a UPC code which typically is only found on the box.
I'm guessing that this would be the same code for matching models. Mine has the 2.6GHz processor, and backlit display.
Here's the exact info via Apple Specs
Does anyone have an old box or perhaps the correct UPC number for this excact model?

Phone AppleCare and order them. Alternatively, if you don't need iLife or the Apple Hardware Test, you can just use a retail Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.

Have a serial number for Acrobat 9 Standard but need a download and can only find download for Pro version.

I did a factory reset on my old laptop and lost my Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. I have the serial number but need a download and can only find download for Pro version. When I enter my serial number (standard) into the Pro Installation it says the number is invalid. Any idea where I can download Standard version of 9? Thanks.

Kimg68365882 did you purchase Acrobat 9 Standard from Adobe directly? If so and you choose to download the software instead of receive a CD then please see Find a download link on Adobe.com.
If you originally received the software on CD then please use a computer with an optical drive to copy the contents of the CD to a USB drive.
