Code group

Dear all,
We use quality management module. My requirement is in notification of type Q3 we use code group to enter defects, is there any possibility of restricting certain codes of the code group for certain users only.
i.e., if i have a code group x of catalog type 9 wherein in x we will have various defect codes like d1,d2,d3....... - Can these codes for example user1 can only select codes d2 and user2 can select any codes from d1,d2,d3...

SAP QM unable to pick Code group & code in creation of defect in QA32

Hello Srinivas,
Check below path and let me know what settings you have maintained.
Now, Also check your Catalogs profile, You have to maintain Catalog "Z" for the same catalog profile.

Field"Code group" is not in the result for report CRM_SRV_REPORT

Hi Guys,
For the tx CRM_SRV_REPORT - Service Process Monitor, the field "Code group" is not in the standar result, but, is in the initial screen for filter selection.
This field is not available in the layout modification.
How can I add this field to the layout of the result list?

Hi Lyda,
Additional field cannot be added in the layout of the result list.
If you will observe the code of the report CRM_TSRV_REPORT, in the field catalog, there is not Code, code group etc., hence it is not seen in the layout.
Since it is a std report it cannot be modified, either u can create a Z report by copying this or u can raise an OSS message for this.

Service Ticket - Categorization Schema (Codes, Catalogs, Code Groups)

I have a Categorization Schema (attached to a subject profile used as categorization for a service ticket in CRM 2007 IC)
BMW
--- 3 Series
--- 5 Series
--- Z4
Mercedes Benz
--- C Class
--- E Class
--- S Class
I have
Catalog - "Cars"
Code Group "BMW" with it's Codes (2, 5, Z4)
Code Group "Mercedes" with it's Codes (C, E, S)
When I create the Schema each node asks me for a Subject Code. In the dropdown I get 2,5,Z4, C, E, S.
How do I just get it to show the codes in the subject code dropdown relevant to either BMW or Mercedes?

I can easily relate to your concern as i was also involved with the same.
Actually category schema will always give you list of all the codes because there is no heirarchy maintained. Hence , it is a one time activity wherein you will have to select the particular codes from the list of all codes for your schema heirarchy.
I gave the description to my codes to make it simpler..
ie..category 4 for me reads -->Cars-BMW-Z4
--->cars-MZ-C
This is just a help so that you can easily reach your correct code from the list of codes to be assiogned for your category modeler
this is one of the most laborious tasks, although it can be imported and exported.

Color code groups in address book

Is there any way to color code groups so that when mail comes in I know to associate it with a specific group. I was able to do this in entourage but have switched to apple mail.

As already described, create a new Rule in Mail.app (Mail -> Preferences -> Rules), that reads:
if (ANY) of the following conditions are met:
(Sender is member of group) (xxxxxxxxx)
Perform the following actions:
(Set Color) (Of Background (or text as you prefer) to (Any color you wish)
Save the rule.
Before doing that, you might want to create a few Groups (or Smart Groups) in Address Book with the people you want to color.

F4 help for Code groups while creating a notification.

Hi all,
We are using Exit QQMA0015 to filter the code groups for object parts, Damage, Causes and Activities based on the Z table.
Our requirement is based on Object Parts, we want to restrict f4 help for Damage and then based on Object Parts and Damage we want to restrict f4 help for Causes and so on for Activities based on the Z table . And we are going to maintain multiple values for one Object Part.
For e.g. If we have two entries for Damage code group in z table based on the Object Part, then both these code groups should be shown on f4 help of Damage. So we want to pass multiple code groups from the Z table
We are facing an issue like the export parameter E_codegruppe is an variable and hence we can pass only one value. So in the loop we are trying to pass both the values to the table T_RIWO020TAB and in the exit this table is getting filled with the values we want.
But once we are out of exit the standard table G_RIWO020TAB in the FUNCTION'CATALOGUE_SELECTION' is having values as per standard configuration and we are not able to get the values we want.
Please suggest on the above mentioned requirement. This will be really helpful for us.

is there any relation between " reason , code , code group , subject profile'
Actually i have make "reason" feild has default value ..
i have to do by RFC .
Cany any body plz reply from where i have to pick this reason feild and set reason feild has default value has " not started "

Subject profiles are used in different areas like
Service
Complaint
Activity reason(Used in all documents like sales,service order)
There is a relationship between Codes, Code groups, code group profiles, Catologs, Subject profiles.
Do not confuse 'Reason' with 'Code' or 'Subject'(Not subject profile), all are same. In different contexts you call them with different names.
1. In IMG while creating codes you use the name "Code".
2. While entering details about activity in any business transaction you call it as a "Reason"
3. While entering the defect of the problem in Service or complaint doc. you use the name "Subject"
In all above cases it is equivalent to name "CODE' which you define in IMG.
Now coming to relationship of above mentioned entities, in any business transaction type customization you can select "business activity" as additional business transaction category. At the customizing header level of this bus. tran. category you are allowed to enter a "Subject profile" which controls your "Reason" field in the business transaction.
In a similar way for service or complaint order you are allowed to enter a "Subject profile" for entering "Subject" in respective transactions.
Each subject profile is assigned to Subject profile category like Service, Complaint, Activity reason etc.,
1. First define catalogs
2. For each catalog define code groups and codes( Code, subject, reason mentioned earler)
3. Create 'Code group profile' for each catalog and assign assign 'code groups' that are relevant for coreesponding catalog to 'code group profile'
4. Now finally create a "Subject profile" which is the combination of "Catalog and code group profile"
I think this would clarify your doubt.
Coming to default value in this reason field, the standard system will not support this. You sholud use some Badi to get this.

QS41 and QS51- code group error

Hi,
I am trying to create new code groups in QM. i have maintained the defect classes and the catalog types. then in QS41 I have maintained the code groups for the catalogs along with the codes. All the code groups are in released status. In the next step in QS 51 I am trying to edit the selected sets but when I enter the catalog, plant and the set the error message qs204 comes which says 'Selected sets are not defined for these catalog types'. and the performance assistant recommends maintaining the table TQ15so that selected sets are allowed for the catalog type.
Why is this error coming? after I have maintained all the required catalogs. Kindly help me with the solution as soon as possible as it is quite critical.

Hi,
This is the correct community regarding your subject. please let me know what is the type of catalog your creating selected for. SAP allows you in standard for creating selected sets only for some of the catalogs namely Usage decision, Character attributes
If you need to maintain selected for other catalogs you have to do the customisation
SPRO > QM > Quality Planning > Basic Data > Catalog > define Catalog Type> choose the catalog > maintian Selected sets allowed

Selected set assignment to code group

I have maintained a catalog " S", under which i have maintained code groups and codes in QS41, but here the usage indicator is deactive. I cannot select it.
Now when i use QS51,i am unable to view the codes. the selected set is empty. In this case how to assign the code groups and codes to seleccted set.
any help, i am new to qm

There is some confusion you have in code gr & selected set.
In simple words -->in QS41 you create defect codes & code gr for catalo types like 1,3,9 etc.
But in QS51 you combine different codes from code grs to form selected sets.Practically selected sets are only used for Characteristics attributes(1) and Usage decision(3) and by default they carry valuations.
For catalog defect type (9) I would suggest to add and create your own codes and code groups as per business requirement in QS41.You should not actually create selected set for catalog 9.

code groups are used in Notifications and quality result parameters.
Code groups are used to combine and structure codes within a catalog type
code groups at client level to group codes that have the same contents or relate to one another, within a catalog type. Codes, that are assigned to a code group are also known as group codes.
When you maintain the code group index, the system locks the required catalog type for other users. However, if you use the individual maintenance function, only the required code group is locked.
these are can ot create by plant wise.
1.when you have material which measures by means of color then you canhave code group color and codes of red ,black etc..
2.if you have defect codes then you can mention them
3.if you have problems of perticular part, then in notification by use of codegroups and codes you can enter the data.
A selected set contains a combination of different codes at plant level, for example, coded descriptions of characteristic attributes (such as color, shape, surface characteristics), defect causes or usage decisions from different code groups.
selected sets to combine codes from several code groups for processing that are allowed or useful for a particular application.
Codes that are copied into a selected set are known as set codes.
When you maintain the selected set index, the system locks the required catalog type for other users. However, if you use the individual maintenance function, only the required selected set is locked.
4.with combinationof code and code groups you can create the selected sets , canbe used in Usage decission.(ex:aprroved, no approved,ok, not ok etc)

Is it possible to assign more no. of code group with a single catalog type like damage ( Catalog type "C" ) for a single equipment only.If it is possible then can anyone tell me how to creat the same and display it.

Hi,
You can creat multiple code groups within same catalog.But when you define catalog profile for technical object you need to include all those code groups which you want to be available.If you want to include multiple then you need to put each code group against related catalog in catalog profile or add * for given catalog to include all code groups defined for damage catalog.

Catalogs are resources which help ensure the uniform use of terms. CRM uses a dual level hierarchy comprising of code groups and codes for catalogs. The terms are coded at client level in a corresponding coding. The codes themselves are composed of four characters, and are assigned to a code group composed of eight characters.
Code
A key that uniquely identifies the qualitative contents of a problem in a coded form that can be mechanically processed.
Each code is assigned to a code group in the catalog. A code can describe:
a characteristic attribute
a defect type
a usage decision
Code Group
A key for summarizing codes and structuring a catalog according to various criteria.
The assignment of codes to code groups takes place at client level.

Catalogs, code groups and codes not available in service order in Web UI

Hi,
I have created and maintained a subject profile for the service orders that i am using for my business scenarios. The same is visible under the objects tab in transaction data of the service order business transaction in the SAP GUI.
However the same are not visible anywhere in the Web UI (they are not available in the list of available fields as well in BSP_WD_CMPWB for BT116H_SRVO).
Can some1 pls advice me with the steps so as to make the catalogs, code groups and codes in my service orders available in the Web UI screen as well.
Will really appreciate if detailed steps are provided since I am new to Web UI technology.

I'm 99% sure (although dont quote me as I dont have a developer key so I cant finish my testing) that you're missing the context Nodes - so although you have the assignment block yuo have no link between the code set and the service order header. You havent referenced them in your comments on this post in any case.
Try this:
Go into BSP_WD_CMPWB
In the Browser component Structure open folder Component > Views
Double-click BT116H_SRVO/DetailsOV and in the structure expand to BT116H_SRVO/DetailsOV > BT116H_SRVO/DetailsOV > View Controller > DetailsOV.do > Context
Right-click on folder Context Node and click Create
Follow through the wizard defining a Z context Node (e.g. ZBTSubject) and a Model Node of BOL Entity BTSubject
Define any Dependencies etc you may wish to have and so on (most of the wizard is optional)
Repeat the same for the BOL Entity BTSubjectSet
Now go back in and see if your values are populating. I'm not a developer (and never have been), so I cant guarantee this will work as I dont have a developer key to test this, but I am quite sure that this needs to be done for you to get your values populating.

Link between code and code groups and inspection type

Hi All,
I want to know the link between code and Code Group for UD and inspection type?
There is an option of choosing Usage selected set in SPRO "Seeting for inspection type".If i dont enter anything there,will it show all the code groups in the system while taking UD?

Hi Shreya,
Yes, the link between code and Code Group for UD and inspection type is specific selection of UD related to specific inspection type. Ex. there are separate UD codes individually for Goods receipt against PO, Gr against Production or for In-process inspection ets. so If you assign the selected sets at SPRO Inspection type, then while doing UD system will show UD codes related to only that inspection type.
If you don't enter anything there at SPRO, you will see all the code groups in the system while taking UD and one can get confused in selecting the relevant code.
so assigning of UD selected sets, plant wise (tick) at " Inspection types" is best practice.

Error in notification- Wrong Code group displaying

While creating Notification, we can assign codes for defect loc, def type and causes. After that, If I go in change mode of same notification, code group for defect type and causes are default taking as code group assigned for defect location.
Also the code group for defect type and causes are not even displaying in screen.
But the data for defect location is showing everything fine, means code group, codes.
Summary:
In QM02- Change Notification
Defect Location:
Code group- Correctly displaying whatever assigned during creation of notification
Defect Loc code: Correctly displaying
Def Loc description- Correctly displaying
Def Type:
Code group- Displaying same code group of def location
Defect type code: No display
Defect type description- No display
Causes:
Code group- Displaying same code group of def location
Causes code- No display
Causes description- No display
Did anyone faced the same issue before. If so plz ley me know
