Code Inspector Errors during Upgrade?

Hi,
We are moving from 4.7 to Netweaver 7 . During the upgrade we found there are errors using Code inspector, Please confirm me that whether errors coming thru Code inspector , whether we need to correct these?
But the programs have no syntax errors, all programs compiled properly.
Thanks
Sa_R

Hi,
Its not required to resolve all of them, they will be arranges as Errors, Warnings etc.
So try to resolve the Errors.
Each error has how it can be solved some times they will give you options to hidethe rros by putting some comments on the perticular line.

    Hi Harish,
    http://<hostname>:50000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
    it should be http://<hostname>:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry not 50000 as port It should be your HTTP port...please .make the changes !!
    In SXMB_ADM transaction under Integration engine configuration please change the settings to http://<hostname>:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
    make sure with your basis team that ur http port is 8000 or 8001 ..as per that make the necessary changes..

    We work with Microsoft Outlook, but I'm sure this could work with any email system.
    This error only came from external emails - what we did in the end is to get the third party to email a particular email (email1) in our company.  This is set up as a regular email account.  On this email put a forward rule to email2 for a particular sender/subject.  email2 is set up as POP3 so that XD1 can poll it - we also block any emails except from email1.
    Doing this accomplishes a couple of things:
    1)  We get around the error because XI polls email2 (which has adapter settings of IMAP4 so we can see MAIL adapter attributes ie. sender, subject etc...When we originally had as POP3 we were not able to see these - but setting as IMAP4 causes the error for external emailers)
    2) We have a SPAM filter - the XI email is clean from SPAM and the adapter will not have errors, as it only receives valid emails to process
    3) We have a central email (email1) which is used to archive all XI emails - we use this for all email scenarios (as we also save to folder and forward in the rule)
    Hope this helps your situation.

    Does anyone have any idea about this? I am not integrating with PI/XI system.

    Hi
    Can you check this out?
    Transaction SXMB_ADM  Integration Engine Configuration
    For an application system you have to maintain the role of the business system as an application system. Set the corresponding Integration Server as an HTTP destination (for example, dest://INTEGRATION_SERVER). Create the destination in transaction SM59 and set the type to HTTP Connections to R/3 System. Test the connection by using the Connection Test button; you should get HTTP 500 u2013 Empty HTTP Request received, because no u201Ereal‟ XML document is sent during this test.
    A HTTP return code 500 (Internal Server Error) is OK.

    I am validating the delivery status field in vbuk table as it exists in my selection screen.
    I am not having vbeln field in my selection screen .

    Regards,

    There's no need to keep repeating information already given.
    As it stands your validation won't work. What if the user enters a selection of ranges? Or an exclusion? Or just an "*" to get everything?
    Use the correct function module to get the valid values for the domain LFSTK (see here: GET DOMAIN FIXED VALUE - Code Gallery - SCN Wiki) into an internal table. Then
    DATA match TYPE abap_bool. match = abap_false. LOOP domain_values INTO domain_value. CHECK domain_value IN s_lfstk. match = abap_true. ENDLOOP.
    IF match EQ abap_false.
    ..." Sorry, pal, not valid.
    ENDIF.
    Validating select options is not straightforward. If you need to validate against a db table, then you can only use
    SELECT SINGLE blah FROM dbtable INTO otherblah WHERE field IN s_field.
    IF sy-subrc IS NOT INITIAL:
        " Sorry, pal, not valid
    ENDIF.
    Which, as you've seen, is not very efficient.

  • Code Inspector Error in program

    Hi All,
    When I released the transport for a program through solution manager, it showed a warning as "program contains code inspector error. Release anyway?" and I released it since the subtask was already released and changing the program will not be possible in that transport request.  Now the program is in Quality system.  But my concern is that what problem a program can cause when it is moved to production if it contains Code Inspector error?  Since I have no much experience in ABAP.  Please advise on this.
    Regards,

    It depends on what kind of errors you got in Dev system .
    You can again check the program for code inspector errors and if there are Priority 1 errors fix them in a ne wTr.

  • Weblogic 10.3.5 error during upgrade to  JSF 2.0

    I created a very simple test application using Jdev 11.1.2.0 which deployed well aganist the IntegratedWeblogicServer.
    I copied the deployed project from ${MW_HOME}/jdeveloper/system11.1.2.0.38.59.69/o.j2ee/drs/TestApplication to ${WEBLOGIC_SERVER_HOME}/user_projects/applications/base_domain_t1/TestApplication.
    Both the weblogic servers have identical config.xml files and similar set of directories. On doing some research over this error, I found out similar errors occuring while upgrade for JBoss and Glassfish servers too.
    Any pointers on what the problem could be?

    Here is the stack trace. A quick online search points me to pages asking me to isolate jsf2.0 from any myfaces implementations. Not sure if that is the problem or how to resolve it.

  • Code Inspector Error Code MESSAGEG_H

    Hello Guys,
    I'm running code inspector and in Syntax check/Generation and subdivision suspect conversions, am getting an error called "Truncation in the Conversion from ABAP type 'C'(length 64 ->20).
    While I understand what the error is about...i don't want to modify the code. Is there any workaround like putiing some "EC Check" at the end of the line so as to hide that error.
    Thanks a lot.
    Karthikeyan

    If the error can be hidden, the pseudo comment would be provided in the Code Inspector screen only.
    Click the documentation button (the blue "i" button) & see if there are any pseudo comments to hide the error.
    BR,
    Suhas

    Senthil

    Hi,
    Senthil following are ans to ur questions
    1. After the SPAU remediation is completed, should I manually release the transport or should I start the upgrade and the upgrade will release that transport?
    Ans : Once your SPAU remediation is completed you should release the requests and then start the upgrade of the DEV system.
    2. How do we import this SPDD & SPAU transport in the QA and PRD, I mean at what stage of the upgrade we need to specify/ include this transport?
    Ans : Now when you start the QA or PRD upgrade at that time you come across a phase during PREPARE called ADJUSTPRP.
    Refer following note for further information --
    SAPNote 124522 - Importing a modification adjustment in 2nd upgrade
    3. Suppose the QA & PRD has more objects to adjust than our Dev box, and this transport will not take care of the delta objects, so in that case how should we remediate, we need to create an other transport request in QA and then it will become two transports?
    Ans : First of all this should not be the scenario where you have more modified objects than that in DEV. As all the modfications should take place in DEV first and then should be transported to QA and then PRD. But in such case what you can do is complete the upgrade of QA system and then you are still having 14 days to complete the SPAU objects. So you can make another request which can be transported as a post upgrade activity once the upgrade is completed in production. For SPDD you will have to take care of the SPDD objects if there are different than those in DEV during the ACT_700 phase only or else you might risk data.
    This is the reason why SAP always asks you to follow a proper transport path.
    4. If our dev box has more objects for remediation than our QA & PRD, then will these objects be also imported into the QA & PRD box?
    Ans : Yes, thats why you should be very sure about the SPAU objects that you have found in DEV. You need to compare the objects with QA and PRD and then only make the modifications.
    I hope i have answered all your queries.

  • Code inspector error with exception

    I have below code :
    IF P_SUMM = C_ON.
       CALL FUNCTION 'ZSD_REPORT_HEADER'             "Write std Nike header
             EXPORTING
                  PROGRAM   =  V_PROGRAM
                  LINE_SIZE =  SY-LINSZ
                  RUN_DATE  =  V_DATE
                  RUN_TIME  =  V_TIME
                  TITLE_1   =  TEXT-025
                  TITLE_5   = '1424'
                  PAGE_NO   =  SY-PAGNO.
       IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
         WRITE: 'Problem with ZSI_REPORT_HEADER'(019).
       ENDIF.
    However in the code inspector it is giving  error :
    Program ZSDR_TOP_ACC  Include ZSDR_TOP_ACC Row 988 Column 0
    No EXCEPTION to set SY_SUBRC Declared for CALL FUNCTION 'ZSI_REPORT_HEADER'
    Thus the value of SY-SUBRC is always 0
    Could you please suggest me how to eleminate error.  YOUR Helpis highy appreciated.
    Thanks in advance and happy new year.

    *ADD Exceptions even the FM does not have exceptions.
              EXCEPTIONS
                  OTHERS    = 1.
        IF SY-SUBRC NE 0.
          WRITE: 'Problem with ZSI_REPORT_HEADER'(028).
        ENDIF.
    We can add exception like above even though the exception was not declared in Function module.

  • To get Code Inspector Errors into an internal table

    Friends,
    My requirement is to report if there exists any Error, warning or information in the Code Inspector & SLIN. I need to include these values in a report.
    For this i will have to get these values into my program. Any idea how can this be achieved?
    Many Thanks!
    Abhinav siddharth

    Hi Lakshman,
    Could you please help me figuring out the parameters requried to execute these FM's?
    I could run 'EXTENDED_PROGRAM_CHECK' but i could not see the result.
    Thanks,

  • Code inspector error message please help

    Hi All i have used delete statement as shown below
    DELETE t_output WHERE  remain_invoice  NOT IN s_invo[].
    t_output is my internal table .
    Error message in code inspector is :Sequential read access for a standard table
    What should i do ?

    I think its better to avoid delete statements inside the loop
    instead of using delete statement inside the loop
    use
    delete table itab where condition
    or
    if u have to use loop at any cost
    modify internal table with flag=X
    and then delete all records from the itab at one shot using above statement
