Code to count specific row of a system form
Hi,
Pls tell me how to count the specific row number of a form.I m making a addon to provide serial no. to receipt goods in which In when a user selects a item in a document and press the button then the value of that specific row is transfered to the next form.

Yes, you can get them. For row count, you can add a parameter to store the row count of your dataset in your report.
Here are the steps:
1. Add 2 datasets in your report, one for report use and the other on is to row count use. For instance:
DataSet1: SELECT HumanResources.vEmployee.* FROM HumanResources.vEmployee
DataSet2: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM HumanResources.vEmployee
2. Add a parameter, set the parameter’s default value set to Get Values from a query and select DataSet2.
Then, in your ASP.NET web application code you can use the following function to get the row count of the report:

return Convert.ToInt32(report.ServerReport.GetParameters()[0].Values[0].ToString());
For page count, you can refer to the following code:
private int GetReportPageCount(ReportViewer report)
return report.ServerReport.GetTotalPages();
You may not get the correct row count and page count in after executing Refresh () method, that’s because when you run this method, it will start another thread to refresh the report and the code below Refresh () method will not wait refreshing complete but run it. For instance, you may get the page count as o if you run the following code in the Button event:

I am making a program to read data from excel files as the above and store them in tables. I have managed to read all the data from excel files as a string and store them in a table.

But in my project I have several other files that have same cell that are blank as the above example

How i would be able to store only the values that i have and leave blank in the second row the Salary and in the third row the ID? Is there a way for my program to skip the blanks as empty value?
Edited by: 998913 on May 9, 2013 1:01 AMIn an unrelated observation, it appears you are creating new database tables to hold each document. I don't think this is a good idea. Your database tables should be created using the database's utility program and not programmatically. The database schema should hardly ever change once the project is complete.
As a design approach: One database table can hold your document names, versions, and date they were uploaded. Another table will hold the column names and data types. Another table can hold the data (type for all data = String). This way, you can join the three tables to retrieve a document. Your design will only consists of those three tables no matter how many unique documents you have. You probably should seek the advice of a DBA or experienced Java developer on exactly how structure those tables. My design is a rough layout. -

I have an ALV table and I want to highlight only a few rows based on a certain logic.
I've defined a context node that defines 2 attributes: textview_design and cell_design.

This code works but the thing is that the whole column named 'EBELN' is coloured light green. This is strange because I've instructed the system that the design of the column EBELN is controlled by the field CELL_DESIGN and this field has the following values:

To color a particular row you need to follow two things.
1. Specify condition based on which the row will be colored i.e. set the value for the attribute 'CELL_DESIGN'.
2. Get all column references and set the cell design field name with 'CELL_DESIGN'.

The problem is that though it shows me the count of the lines from the LAV report on top but when I try to filter the records in the report that count first of all dosent change and remain the same as the initial number of record though after filtering records reduce and over that the count lines keep on increasing I mean the count is shown in repeated lines afet lines. please help me in working on following requirement:
1. Iterate the View Object Query Result
2. Do some calculation on the Rows, lets say:
Concatination of column1 and column2 and place it in a non database Attribute "column3"
3. How to handle/place the non database attribute?
4. Fetch specific rows from the query result; there should be a comparison, like checking master and detail hierachy struktur:
Take Column1_ID (Master) check in columns2_ID (Detail), when found detail take this Row and place it in a buffer (Maybe ArrayList, or something like that)
5. Show the Chace(ArrayList) to user, in a form of View Object, with standard functions like sorting and filtering

There should be a specific sort order, which i have to code in ADF.
Just to give an overview:
Colum1 and Column2 (nothing to do with the emp table) have relationship. Several hierachies are existing in the Query Result.
For identifying the start point of any of these hierachies, i have to iterate through the Query Result and fetch these start point
and buffer it in an array or something like that.So in the end i have to get the same query Result but with different Sort Order.
How to buffer theses Rows (Array?) and show in a View Object?
Can we use the same view Object for solving that, or should we use another View Object which catches the new Result Set?
To Point 5:
The Result should be, as mentioned above, a View Object including new Result Set, which can provide standard behavior (sort, filter)
I hope the requirement is defined clearly enough, so maybe you can make some suggestions on that.

Instead of iterating VO rows and setting CalcCol attr, generate View Row Impl class. Inside getCalcCol(), write your logic. This will be called during each and every request so that transient attr data won't become null during sorting and filtering. If your VO is entity driven, do the same in Entity impl class

How to select specific rows in rtf template for complex calculation

I want custom calculation in my rtf template and for this i need to select specific cell's value OR specific row's value. Any one please suggest how can I get this. Below is the example i have plotted using excel. My target is to get field 8 and 9 using sum and minus. We can calculate column over column, is there any way to calculate row over row? If I use variables, then i have to create so many variables because I have more columns and rows to calculate (here i posted one sample table). Any one please help me how can I get expected result other than using variables! If "Using variables" is the only way then also give your valuable opinions.

Per my understanding you what to count the rows which values >=1 and display them at the bottom of the table, you are trying to use the custom code to do this but failed, right?
I have tested in my local environment and find the custom code is not correctly, and I have an alternative method which is more easy and can work in both table and matrix.
As Vaibhav Chaudhari also mentioned that we can use the CountDistinct function, but more correctly, we can use the count() function and the RunningValue() function, because CountDistict will not count the duplicated values if they >=1.
Please find the expression as below:
=Count(IIf(Fields!Yourfield.Value>=1 , Fields!Yourfield.Value, Nothing))
OR:
=RunningValue(IIf(Fields!Yourfield.Value>=1 , 1, Nothing),Sum,"DataSetName")

In your outline, I am missing quite a few prerequisites which I mentioned (not sure if you have implemented them already)
your sub node, does it have singleton=false, cardinality 1..1 and selection cardinality 1..1?
The attribute of type TableCellDesign in that sub node, does it have the calculated property to true?
If you've bound each table column's cellDesign property to this calculated attribute, you just put some code in the generated generated get<SubNode><CalcAttribute> method to set the color
For instance by just entering the line
return WDTableCellDesign.CRITICALVALUE_LIGHT
in that method will render each linked cell to that color
