Code to redeem mountain lion

I recently purchased a mac book pro and received a code to redeem mountain lion. However the app store says that my code is incorrect. What should I do?

Correction- you have to put the content code into the PDF file Apple sent you as the password to open the PDF then the redemption code is shown.

  • Im unable to open the pdf file for the code to redeem Mountain Lion:the '*****'file could not be opened. it may be damaged or in a format that preview doesn't recognise

I've tried opening the file in ibooks, on ipad, in Safari, and straight from e-mail, but it can't open the .pdf file. Could it be corrupted? I'm brand new to the MBP so may be missing something obvious!

If Preview won't read the pdf file, try Adobe Reader. It is possible, of course, that the file may actually be damaged, as Preview should be able to open the file.

  • I bought macbook pro and update my osx, i already have the codes and install mountain lion and its been 2 days now and still downloading mode

i bought macbook pro and update my osx, i already have the codes and install mountain lion and its been 2 days now and still downloading mode

    Disable anti virus software.
Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion as well as third party download managers.
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.

  • Where do I apply to get a redemption code to download mountain lion for free?

I bought my Macbook Air after June 10 2012. Where do I apply for a redemption code to download Mountain Lion?

Oh thats not fair thats its ended.
Did they say it was for a limited time?
Who knows at this point. It was a year ago. Nobody here can tell you what Apple thinks. You must talk to Apple if you want a definite answer from Apple.
We can only help you with things we can access. Since the Up-to-date website doesn't appear to exist, we have no way of telling you how to try to overcome what you seem to think is unfair.
Only Apple can do that, and that would require you to talk to Apple.

  • HT1349 Redeem Mountain Lion App Store update code

I sent my Mountain Lion App Store update code to the wrong e-mail address and can't recover it, but registered the serial number to my newly purchased MacBook Pro. Can I have my code resent to an e-mail I actually use to redeem it and download the new OS?

  • Redeem mountain lion software

I have a MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air.  The Air lost its operating system somehow and would not boot.  I created a thumbdrive to boot it.  I purchased Mountain Lion.  Apple delivered a redemption code for the software.  I entered the code (on the Pro, since the Air can not get to the Mac App Store).  It said it was downloading, but after a long long time I saw no evidence of that, so I went to the Mac App Store to see what's up.  It shows the purchase on the list, but it won't download.  If I click "download" it just sits there and then reverts to the unclicked button state.   If I click on the name of the software it says "Not available in the US Store."    *** is this BS????   So far, Apple is worse than MS ever dreamed of being in every respect in this experience.   Does anyone from Appke monitor these forums?   If so, please dear God let me know how to get the software I paid for in good faith.  My email is [email protected] if that helps.  Yes, I have an Apple ID and all that crap, which I will verify if you contact me. Thank you.

    Hi,
Just had the same problem and was totally confused by the entire situation. No expert advice to offer and I am hopelessly confused with the new "App Store" situation - I can't even get that working on my laptop even though the App is there. I only want to load Mountain Lion into my desktop Mac Pro and things are working on that computer. After jumping through multiple hoops managed to get to the redeem point on the desktop computer. I have been using Snow Leopard and am only upgrading to Mountain Lion because I need to go to 10.8 for some other software I want to install.
I clicked on that **** thing multiple times before I finally noticed a little tiny slider had appeared on my dock which begins filling up with blue. It takes a long while but when it is finished a little button with a Mountain Lion photo will appear in the dock and that allows you to install. Don't know if your experience will be the same and if this will be of any help but since no one has responded I thought I'd try. Yes, I had the "Not available in the US Store" thing too...oh, probably a waste of time contacting support because they gave me some canned information which applied to an iPad. Despite several emails back and forth I finally figured out the guy wasn't really reading the questions I was asking because his responses didn't apply. Duh.

  • Unable to redeem Mountain Lion OS X

Recently purchased a Mac Desktop. The previous owners hadn't erased the disk so I did that from disk utilities. Then tried to re-load OS but states my apple ID hasn't purchased Mountain Lion OS X. Signed into apple store from another device and purchased it. Now I have confirmation and codes ready to redeem. However I cannot access the Mac App Store as I don't have the OS installed on the Mac. Tried from my iPhone but it has to be rom the Mac. How can I redeem\install the OS without being able to redeem it?

OK. You have an Early 2009 iMac model. So, you will need either the original Leopard installer disc that came with the computer when it was new or a retail Snow Leopard DVD to get started.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
Now at this point you can redeem your Mountain Lion download or you can freely download the latest version of OS X, Mavericks.

  • HT1338 Where do I enter the code to download Mountain Lion for free?

I have obtained my password for a free mountain lion upgrade on my new computer but can not figure out where I go to input the information to download?

First, make sure you got the right password - it should be an 8 - or maybe 12 - digit code with only numbers, and no letters or dashes.  If you have something with letters and/or dashes, that is not the code.
Once you have the code, go to the App Store, click on the "Featured" tab on top, and the "Redeem" link on the right side.  Enter your code, and you'll be on your way.

  • How to get a free code for installing Mountain Lion?

    Hey!
I bought a MacBook Air 22 of June. I have read that if you bought a MacBook (with Lion 10.7.5) after the 11 of June you can get a free upgrade to Mountain Lion.. so im wondering how I can get this code..?
    Thanks!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I'm sorry, but you are late. Apple isn't offering more codes to upgrade to Mountain Lion for free, so if you want to upgrade to Mountain Lion, open the App Store and purchase it

  • Unable to redeem Mountain Lion code on Bahrain Appstore.

Got the redeem code. But appstore says its not possible. Whats the fix?

Ah well, I was just being specific that I tried to get to it from Bahrain.
Anyway, I got it from US, online (shipped), while I was there on a holiday.
I don't really think it'll be because Apple does not want its products used in Bahrain; that would be a very weird. Besides, pretty much all the neighboring countries are on the list.
Thanks for your help anyway =)
