Code39Wide-Regular Fonts in the crystal report cannot be embedded with PDF

Good Day!
We are using Code39Wide-Regular Fonts in the crystal report for bar codes. While converting this report to the PDF format from Crystal viewer, we are getting the following error. It seems like this particular font cannot be embedded with PDF format.
Error - Failed to Export the report
Code39Wide-Regular- Font is not allowed to be embeded in document,
File - F:\Apps\9.40\Crystal\sfc\jobprtx.rpt
How can we solve this issue permanantly (Not a workaround )?

Hi Philip, Due to licensing issues CR cannot embed licensed fonts in a PDF file. Your only work around is to export the report to editable Word format and then open the file in Word 2007 and get the export to PDF plug-in available from Microsoft.
This will not be fixed in this or upcoming version of CR.

I have designed a report in the Crystal Reports XI Designer (version 11.5.3.417) using the default printer. When I view it through the preview mode of the Designer, fonts are displayed like expected using the default printer driver.
Now, I view this same report at run time in the Crystal Report Viewer control on the same computer with the same default printer. Fonts appear then differently they were in the preview mode : sizes are differents and some texts are truncated. It seems that the default printer driver are not used.
Can anybody tell me if this behaviour is normal ? If it is the case how should I do to display a report in the Report Viewer using the default printer driver like I have specified it in the Designer.

You may want to select the "no Printer" option instead, this will force CR to use a higher resolution. Look in page setup, printer options.

Cannot display the Crystal Report from BW..very Urgent

Hello Friends,
We are executing the Crystal report XI report from BW 3.50 but cannot displaying andgiving the error messgae as follows....
Service cannot be Reached
What has happened?
URL http://sapprodbw.company.com:8112/sap/bw/sap/bw/ce_url call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.
Note
The termination occurred in system I12 with error code 404 and for the reason Not found.
The selected virtual host was 0 .
What can I do?
Please select a valid URL.

Getting error REP-1352: The fonts specified for this report cannot be found

Dear Friends,
I'm getting the following error when I run my reports on Application Server installed in Solaris 9.
REP-1352: The fonts specified for this report cannot be found for the character set specified by NLS_LANG.
I searched internet and found the reason for the issue i.e., as follows.
REP-1352: The fonts specified for this report cannot be found for the character set specified by NLS_LANG.
Cause: The NLS_LANG environment variable specifies a character set for which no font is available.
Action: You may choose a font that exists in the character set specified by NLS_LANG. Alternatively, you may use the Font Alias file to force an available font to be used instead of the one specified in the report.
I cannot change the font for each & every report as there are more than 100 reports. HOW CAN I USE THE FONT ALIAS FILE? It is very Urgent, please solve my problem.
Please help me ASAP.

Now, these reports give us an error....

Did you check this DocId:203781.1. I think it will help you problem.
Moreover does your X-server or vnc server on HP work fine.
In the past with HP version 11.0 there was always problem with HP x-server. just check that your x-server is runinig will ex. x-clock.

Where is the Crystal Reports Viewer

I will try to make this short. Had a very successful .net system with crystal reports XI on a windows 2003 server which was developed on a licensed copy of visual studio 2005. The client that was responsible for paying for the server didn't and the server was wiped clean. So now I do not have a licensed copy of visual studio (yet) and the new server is windows 2008 r2. I have everything working mostly. The reports are coming up, but not in crystal reports viewer. They look like a regular web page. I also cannot test the crystal reports because I do not have a licensed version of visual studio anymore and the express version of VS 2010 does not have crystal. Is there a way to got the viewer to work on the server without having to compile/build through VS2010? I need the viewer because some of the reports are on 11x17 paper and they need the print capabilities that the viewer provides. Thank you for your help!! Nancy Smith

- No there is not
For vs2010, you will need CRVS2010 which you can download from [here|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/crystalreports-dotnet]. Unfortunately, it is not possible to integrate CRVS2010 into the express version of VS 2010...

How to create a report with data using the Crystal Reports for Java SDK

Hi,
How do I create a report with data that can be displayed via the Crystal Report for Java SDK and the Viewers API?
I am writing my own report designer, and would like to use the Crystal Runtime Engine to display my report in DHTML, PDF, and Excel formats. I can create my own report through the following code snippet:
ReportClientDocument boReportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();
boReportClientDocument.newDocument();
However, I cannot find a way to add data elements to the report without specifying an RPT file. Is this possible? I seems like it is since the Eclipse Plug In allows you to specify your database parameters when creating an RPT file.
is there a way to do this through these packages?

Am I forced to create a RPT file for the different table and column structures I have?

Error when running the Crystal Report 9.1 (visual studio 2003) in the deployed server

Hello,
1) I am suddenly getting an error message ‘Load Report failed’ in a production server (where the VS2003 application is deployed) when the Crystal Report is executed. This has happened maybe because of the Windows/Crystal Report Updates!
I am able to see the same report perfectly fine in the development computer using VS 2003.
I am using the 9.1 version which is part of the Visual Studio 2003.
The event logs show 'Either the keycode library is not registered or it cannot be loaded ...EventID=10029'. See attached screen shot.
Please help?
2) Since I was getting a registration suggestion window for using Crystal Reports, I registered twice using different email address and it said that it will send me the KeyCode for the Crystal report but after successful registration I never got any keycode but just an email acknowledging the Registration.
I believe the KeyCode is required to use it in the server to execute/run a report.
Can SAP representative email the keycode to my gmail account?

If I memory servers, you have to open the Crystal_Regwiz2003.msm in the .NET deployment project. One of the properties of the msm was Keycode (or similar). You entered the keycode here. To find your keycode; in VS2003 IDE, go to the Help | About screen. You will see one of the installed components as Crystal Reports and the keycode will be on the right of that. Copy the keycode from here, paste in the above.

Does Crystal reports XI support postscript fonts?
Does Crystal Reports XI allow postscript fonts to be exported to PDF? (I know that this was not possible in Crystal Reports 9. Has this been resolved in XI?)

First check is to ensure the Java JVM can see the font. The Java SDK comes with the JFC demo Font2DTest. Do the fonts show up there?
Note that the Java JRE has a lib/fonts directory, where you can place TrueType fonts that the JRE then would use.

Printing font Barcode3of9 from Crystal Reports XI

I have an issue with printing font Barcode3of9 from Crystal Reports XI utilizing Manhattan Associates Performance Management (PM) UI application.
The font is applied to a field that is converted from a number to a text using the CStr formula in Crystal Reports XI in order to display the value as a barcode.
The barcode on the report is converted successfully in the PM UI 100% of the time. However the business tries to print the report using the print or the export the report functions and the barcode is not converted 100% of the time into a barcode only the value of the field displays.
The font is installed on the server that the business accesses and I have installed the font on the web server for our testing environment, but it still does not aide with fixing the issue.
Does anybody have any experience with this issue?

Using Web Services on the Crystal Report Server XI to return reports

Hi,I'm trying to setup for the first time a Crystal Reports Server XI R2 and put a couple of reports onto the server. This is so I can access the reports on the crystal reports server using using the crystal web services and finally display the reports in an ASP.NET web application.So far I have installed the server, created a couple of reports, put them on the server, and tested to see that I can access the reports using the Central Management Console. This all works fine and the reports are returned. Ok, now for the bit that's not working. I looks like your mixing technologies here. You are using Crystal Report Server and the Crystal Report Web Services that come with Visual Studio.I know that this might seem like they are the same product, and the naming does seem confusing but I'll try and make it easy for you to understand.Crystal Reports Server - This is a managed reporting solution which allows you to distribute your reports via the web. It has features like scheduling and built in security.It appears that you have a handle on what Crytal Report Server is from what you have been able to accomplish those far. You have created your report and published it to Crystal Report Server and viewed it via the Central Management Console. Crystal Reports Server has two methods for accessing the reports programatically.1. The Enterprise SDK2. The Web Services SDK<a href="/node/353">Check out this white paper that compares these two SDKs </a><a href="/node/256">This paper describes the Web Services SDK.</a>In the above paper there is a getting started section which points you to the Developer Library which shows you how to install the web services on your Crytal Reports Server machine.Crystal Reports Server does not have the Business Object web services installed by default so I would suggest following the directions in the <a href="http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2/en/devsuite.htm">Developer Library.</a>The directions wont talk about Crystal Reports Server but these are the directions to get the Web Services installed. HI Srivatsa,
You can make a wider report by creating virtual pages. Virtual pages are the extra pages to the right of the main page that get created to accommodate cross-tabs that are wider than a single page. By inserting a cross-tab in a report then suppressing it, you can create a report that is multiple pages wide.
Insert and Suppress a Cross-Tab
1. On the 'Insert' menu, click 'Cross-Tab'.
2. In the Cross-Tab Expert, click any field and move it into the 'Columns' box, and click any field and move it into the 'Summarized Fields' box. Do not move any fields into the 'Rows' box.
3. Click the 'Customize Style' tab and select the following check boxes:
" Suppress Empty Rows
" Suppress Empty Columns
" Suppress Row Grand Totals
" Suppress Column Grand Totals
4. Click the 'OK' button and then insert the cross-tab into the Report Header section.
5. On the 'Report' menu, click 'Format Sections'. Click 'Report Header' and select the 'Underlay Following Sections' check box.
When you run the report you will not see the cross-tab, but you will be able to scroll to the right and see multiple virtual pages.

" As there are no rows to the Cross-Tab, it does not carry on to Page 2 and the virtual pages do not appear past the first page.
" To increase or decrease the number of virtual pages do one of the following:
- Limit the number of records for the field in the 'Column' box of the 'Cross-Tab Expert' using the 'Select Expert'.
- Change the width of the 'Column' field in the Cross-Tab by moving the edges of the field.

How to Insert Fields on Virtual Pages
You cannot drag-and-drop a field onto a virtual page, you can only do so on the main page. To get a field to appear on a virtual page:
1. Insert the field on the main page.
2. Click the 'Preview' tab.
3. Drag the right edge of the field to the right, onto the virtual page.
4. Drag the left edge of the field to the right, onto the virtual page.

The particular problem you noticed is one that we will be addressing with the RTM version of CR Viewer XI. We mentioned only Win XP was supported in the release notes âu20ACu0153For Technical Preview, the Crystal Reports Viewer XI is supported only on Windows XP in English.âu20AC
